LoL Classic Tier List for Patch 26.15

If you missed the OG League of Legends back when it came out, you don’t know how different it was. It was way slower and more methodical than modern ADHD fiesta, and that made some of the Champions way better than others. Yeah, balance was mostly non-existent. In this LoL Classic tier list for patch 26.15, I’m ranking all 60 champions from S to C tiers. See who breaks the meta since 2009.

Check out LoL Classic Tier List for Patch 26.15

LoL Classic Tier List Quick Summary:

  • LoL Classic plays much slower than modern League, so champions with old-school scaling, point-and-click tools, and low-mobility punishment become much stronger.
  • This tier list ranks all 60 available champions from S to C tiers, with role-specific breakdowns for ADC, Support, Jungle, Top, and Mid.
  • Some champions feel very different from their modern versions because of older kits, old stealth rules, dodge mechanics, silence effects, and stronger point-and-click abilities.
  • The ranking focuses on Classic meta strength, lane impact, old kit power, and how well each champion abuses slower Season 3-style gameplay.

LoL Classic Champion Tier List 2026

While League is pretty straightforward with the roles the Champions can do, some off-role Champions can perform very well, like Top Alistar. In this tier list, I’m not gonna consider them fitting for their off-role, but if there are certain meme builds where that might work, I’m gonna mention it. The current patch is very similar to that of Season 3. Bear in mind that this tier list is for the Classic League. For the modern LoL tier list, check out this article. There are 60 champions currently present in the game, with more to come in future updates. Here’s how I ranked them in this LoL Classic Champion tier list for 2026:

Tier

Champions

S-Tier

Jax, Nasus, Lee Sin, Jarvan IV, Master Yi, Rammus, Shaco, Kassadin, Ahri, Gragas, Ezreal, Vayne, Corki, Leona, Blitzcrank, Sona

A-Tier

Tryndamere, Singed, Nidalee, Wukong, Gangplank, Malphite, Amumu, Evelynn, Fiddlesticks, Nunu, Warwick, Annie, Pantheon, Brand, Karthus, Ryze, Morgana, Katarina, Twisted Fate, Miss Fortune, Tristana, Ashe, Janna, Lulu, Soraka

B-Tier

Garen, Kayle, Olaf, Teemo, Cho’Gath, Dr. Mundo, Anivia, Zilean, Heimerdinger, Malzahar, Lux, Veigar, Sivir, Twitch, Kog’Maw, Taric

C-Tier

Skarner, Sion, Alistar

If you’ve ever played League in ye olde times, you know that it was far slower than it is right now. Climbing the ranked ladder was somewhat easier since nobody knew how to play, but now don’t expect it to be easy. Most Champions weren’t what they’re now. The LoL Classic Champions S-Tier is mostly built around champs that abuse old League’s slower pace. Kassadin had old silence and low-cooldown Riftwalk before he was remade. Jax had dodge. Blitzcrank was the only hook champ in this version of League, which automatically made him present in almost every game where he wasn’t banned. A-Tier is, for the most part, made up of champions that can be very strong if they’re given time or if the person you’re playing against doesn’t know the matchup well. B-Tier are underpowered characters, and C-Tier is uhhh… I guess it’s okay for content farming?

LoL Classic ADC Tier List

Ah, the times when ADCs weren’t as crazy as top lane or jungle - can you imagine that? Early League didn’t really have a lot of variety when it came to some mixed-role characters, if it even had such. Here’s how the LoL Classic ADC tier list looks:

Tier

ADC Champions

S-Tier

Ezreal, Vayne, Corki

A-Tier

Tristana, Ashe, Miss Fortune

B-Tier

Twitch, Sivir

C-Tier

Kog’Maw

All three top Champs were a nightmare to deal with. Ezreal with his AP ultimate was arguably the hardest to learn, but Vayne with a stun that lasted ages and her ability to cut the HP in % was super strong back then, and well, it’s gonna be super strong with the release of Classic.

Champion

Changes from Modern League

Ezreal

Old W hit enemies and buffed ally attack speed, which also made AP Ezreal way more annoying

Vayne

Mostly the same, but modern mechanics on old Vayne will carry hard

Corki

No Package, but old Corki was still one of the classic bot-lane monsters

Tristana

AP Tristana was more popular than now, but in every other way she’s the same

Ashe

Modern-day Ashe is much better than this version, and I thought about putting her in B, but I think there are worse choices than her. Her Q is a toggle in an old League, plus it eats mana

Miss Fortune

Her ult is strong cause not every champion had a dash back then

Twitch

Old stealth is something, and it deserves almost a separate article to discuss it, but Twitch was always a hyper-late carry, and if you fall behind on farm in old League, you won’t make it out

Sivir

Same as modern Sivir, but with more movement speed passive buff and her W used to be a toggle

Kog’Maw

Tank shred is good, but he needed way too much protection for my taste

Corki is one of the least picked characters nowadays, but back then Corki was a poster child for ADCs, cause he had it all. Rockets and mixed damage combined with his insane lane pressure were really good. Too bad his kit is still clunky.

League of Legends Classic Support Tier List

The old supports weren’t kitted up with a ton of tools for various cases, and they were more one-note. Usually healing or eating all the damage that came from the opposing ADC/Support combo. There was also Blitzcrank that was so dominant back then that many ADCs dreaded going out from behind the turret, and even then there was no salvation from his hook. This single hook in Classic League is way more punishing than in modern League because fewer champs had panic mobility, and the best thing is, Blitzcrank is still very annoying and tops the LoL Classic support tier list:

Tier

Support Champions

S-Tier

Blitzcrank, Leona, Sona

A-Tier

Janna, Lulu, Soraka

B-Tier

Taric

C-Tier

Alistar

Apart from Blitzcrank, the best supports in LoL Classic are the healing ones, and not much has changed since.

Champion

Changes from Modern League

Blitzcrank

W had no self-slow, and his ult had passive zap damage without the modern hit requirement

Leona

Same core idea, but harder to escape in low-mobility Classic

Sona

Old Sona healing and poke work well in slower fights

Janna

Her old passive gave allies a global 3% movement speed boost

Lulu

Same annoying anti-carry skills. Polymorph was and still is gross

Soraka

Old Soraka could restore mana and play more like a true healbot

Taric

Point-and-click stun is nice, but his old kit is very clunky. He’s still fabulous, though

Alistar

Early Alistar was more of a meme than a Champion. His old E was mostly a heal

I know Alistar top is broken, but as a support, I’m struggling to put him above virtually any other choice. Unless you’re into making life harder for yourself, there are better picks.

League of Legends Classic Jungle Tier List

Old jungle is going to be cursed in the best way. In a strange way, it was both less and more complicated than it is now, and god forbid if you touch that blue buff. Jungler is a far more responsible role in Classic, and a good Jungler can practically solo win the games. Check out the League of Legends Classic jungle tier list:

Tier

Jungle Champions

S-Tier

Lee Sin, Jarvan IV, Master Yi, Rammus, Shaco

A-Tier

Amumu, Evelynn, Fiddlesticks, Nunu, Warwick

B-Tier

Cho’Gath, Dr. Mundo

C-Tier

Skarner

So, there are a few things I gotta explain. Evelynn is gonna be A-Tier even though old stealth made it so that you couldn’t see her unless you used an item, as she was invisible all the time, even walking close by. On paper, it’s broken. In reality, unless you’re in Wood 6 lobby, she’ll get countered hard. Evelynn’s impact drops heavily after like 20 minutes into the game, but she could still do a lot of damage before that. Lee Sin is the goat forever and ever, and he’s far easier to play than in modern League, so you can play Classic in order to practice landing his projectile.

Champion

Changes from Modern League

Lee Sin

Barely changed. Same mechanics on an old low-mobility roster with bigger hitboxes are OP

Jarvan IV

EQ, shield, ult, and old flag attack speed all translate well

Master Yi

Was and still is one of the strongest late-game carries. AP Yi has Alpha Strike AP scaling and simply absurd Meditate scaling

Rammus

Old Rammus has a 3-second taunt and armor-to-damage scaling

Shaco

Plays the same, so any good Shaco player will feel at home

Amumu

Same Amumu, minus one Bandage Toss

Evelynn

Mechanically same, but because of the way stealth worked, she was stronger. Try Sunfire Cape on her and watch enemies cry bloody tears

Fiddlesticks

Point-and-click fear, jungle farm that doesn’t need leashing, and old bouncing crow poke. He’s strong but not the S-Tier strong

Nunu

Better jungle clear than any other jungler, decent impact on the game

Warwick

I know a lot of players who hated old Warwick cause his ulti was just point-and-click, plus he’s very beefy

Cho’Gath

Losing half the stacks to dying is more punishing than the way he works in modern League. Otherwise, pretty much the same character

Dr. Mundo

Way better at clearing jungle than the modern version, but his health costs are too harsh to be good. He’ll be in better shape soon enough.

Skarner

Too many weird AP ratios for little profit, one of the worst characters back then

All S-Tier junglers are easy to gank lanes with. Anything below A-Tier is very situational or hard to play for zero to no payoff.

LoL Classic Top Champion Tier List

There’s always something wrong with Top lane, and it was the same back in the old League. That’s where I play the most, so I have way more expertise to share here, but I’m not gonna flood you with it. Just know that Top is where LoL Classic is the most cursed. Here’s the Top Champion tier list for LoL Classic:

Tier

Top Champions

S-Tier

Jax, Nasus

A-Tier

Tryndamere, Singed, Nidalee, Wukong, Gangplank, Malphite

B-Tier

Garen, Kayle, Olaf, Teemo

You already know that this is very different from modern League cause Nasus in S-Tier and Garen in B is laughable, but it was the reality back then when our Demacian fratbro didn’t get buffs only. Jax back then was so annoying that even if you knew how to counter him, you just couldn’t do anything but wait for the jungler to come and gank you. I thought about putting Tryndamere higher, but then I remembered that everyone knows his shtick by now and he’s just really strong, but not completely broken.

Champion

Changes from Modern League

Jax

Back then, League was way more auto-attack heavy, and Jax’s dodge-based Counter Strike ruined nearly every character relying on their AA

Nasus

Wither scaling was way better, even if old Q stacking is slower

Tryndamere

Classic crit and sustain make him a lane terror, counter with Jax

Singed

Very same, just different scaling

Nidalee

One-trick-pony, but in a way that she only does damage with her spear throw and that’s it

Wukong

Dunkey’s favorite didn’t have the double ulti, but the rest of the kit is the same

Gangplank

Q poke, crit/on-hit, oranges, and global ult. No barrels needed.

Malphite

Unstoppable Force gets harder to avoid because of the slower overall movement

Garen

Same skills and stronger AD scale

Kayle

Not permanently ranged. Her E gives temporary range instead.

Olaf

Ragnarok is strong in a game with fewer movement abilities

Teemo

Mostly same little rat. Blind and shrooms still do rat things.

Idk about you, but I prefer modern Top lane to the old one, cause back then it felt like you’re stranded on the island and no one’s coming. It was too far removed from other lanes, and you’re basically on your own. In modern LoL, Junglers at least gank without rolling their eyes.

LoL Classic Best Midlaners Tier List

Old Mid-lane was full of strong characters. So much so that ordering this section of the tier list was the hardest thing. I mean, S-Tier is pretty obvious, right, but A and B were real head-scratchers. Take a look at the League Classic best Midlaners tier list:

Tier

Mid Champions

S-Tier

Kassadin, Ahri, Gragas

A-Tier

Annie, Pantheon, Brand, Karthus, Ryze, Morgana, Katarina, Twisted Fate

B-Tier

Anivia, Zilean, Heimerdinger, Malzahar, Lux, Veigar

C-Tier

Sion

My god, was Kassadin a threat in League circa season 3. Ever wondered why his teleport is so short? Well, you’ll see why here. Ahri is absolutely the same and is still strong, but I bet you didn’t expect to see Gragas in here. The funniest thing is that he’s barely changed. We just didn’t have characters to counter him well. TF is super good, on the condition that you have to know how to play him, and that's what makes him an A-Tier champion in my book. You’ll always underperform in some way, unless you’re Faker.

Champion

Changes from Modern League

Kassadin

Old silence plus Riftwalk in low-mobility League. Horrible to face.

Ahri

Same kit

Gragas

Passive healed 2% HP after spell casts, giving him huge sustain

Annie

Same Kit

Pantheon

Global ult, AP scaling, and turret-auto block made some characters weep cause you always forget that Pantheon can drop on your head like a nuke

Brand

Same kit, stronger because you can’t run away from your teammate, yet again

Karthus

Ever seen dead Karthus do a Pentakill? Way easier in older League due to his AP scaling

Ryze

Mana-scaling point-and-click spell spam. It’s not old. It’s ancient League

Morgana

The roots are so much better when Champions can’t escape

Katarina

No dagger catching. She just jumps in and resets

Twisted Fate

Global pressure with modern macro knowledge can become really strong, and I can even argue that TF is S-Tier. We’ll see.

Anivia

Ulti had limited range, plus the mana cost was stupendous

Zilean

Same kit

Heimerdinger

Pretty much the same with minor differences like stronger turret effects and more rockets

Malzahar

The biggest difference is his voidlings. Apart from that, his kit is mostly the same, but his effects are spread out across his skills, like Q silence, for instance

Lux

Very much the same

Veigar

Instant E cast. Cage people instantly!

Sion

Super weak in this iteration. You probably don’t remember how bad he was pre-rework

Old League was something else, and I can’t help but wonder if they’ll repeat the balancing cycle from the old times or come up with something new with their combined balancing experience of 200 years.

F.A.Q

What are the best Champions in LoL Classic?

In LoL Classic, the strongest champions are Jax, Nasus, Lee Sin, Jarvan IV, Master Yi, Rammus, Shaco, Kassadin, Ahri, Gragas, Ezreal, Vayne, Corki, Leona, Blitzcrank, and Sona.

How many champions are in LoL Classic?

There are currently 60 champions available in LoL Classic, with more expected to arrive in later updates.

Is LoL Classic harder than modern League?

In some ways, yes. The mechanics are less overloaded, but the pacing is slower, mistakes are more punishing, and matchups can feel brutal when old kits are left unchecked.

Will the LoL Classic meta change often?

Most likely. Balance changes, new champion additions, and players rediscovering old builds can shift the meta quickly.
