Mistfall Hunter Best Class Tier List 2026
I’ve played extensively during the playtests, and when checking out the game, I picked Mercenary, but after playing for a while and after reading a bunch of Reddit threads, the top picks are pretty clear. For this first tier list, I will not separate the solo ranking from trio ranking. This is the overall ranking:
|
Tier |
Classes |
|
S-Tier |
Shadowstrix, Blackarrow |
|
A-Tier |
Mercenary, Sorcerer |
|
B-Tier |
Seer |
|
C-Tier |
Withered Knight |
But you have to keep in mind that each class has two specializations with entirely unique sets of skills, and those rate differently in trios and solos. For example, Reverent Seer is one of the best classes for Trios. In this ranking, classes are placed based on how consistently good each class is no matter which specialization you go for or whether you play solo or in trios.
Also, I have to admit that Withered Knight is C-tier only based on the playtest experience. The launch version will include the Polearm & Shield spec, which has the defensive properties of Mercenary (best class for new players btw) and a decent reach, exceeding that of other melee classes. I’ll update the tier list once the meta settles after the launch.
Mistfall Hunter Best Classes in Trios
Needless to say, trios and solos are two very different experiences. You have to buddies covering your back, but you also have to deal with 3 times more enemies, provided it’s one trio versus another trio. But third-partying can still happen. For this ranking, I focused on how much each class contributes during 3v3 fights. Damage is still important, but now you have to account for support, healing, and buffs because those are just as important now. So, here’s my tier list for trios:
|
Tier |
Classes and Specs |
|
S-Tier |
Blackarrow, Reverent Seer, Stardust Sorcerer |
|
A-Tier |
Elemental Sorcerer, Shadowstrix, Hammer Mercenary |
|
B-Tier |
Blasphemer Seer, Sword and Shield Mercenary |
|
C-Tier |
Withered Knight |
You can see the changes - Stardust Sorcerer and Reverent Seer are two classes that are now S-tier. Blackarrow can apply Exhausted with Paralysis Arrow, punish dodging through Barbed Arrow, and detect nearby players with Predator’s Senses. Stardust Sorcerer controls team fights with Gravitational Vortex, which pulls enemies together and can Stun multiple targets, Meteor Impact, which knocks enemies into the air, and Stardust Tempest, which deals continuous Magic Damage while slowing everyone inside it.
Reverent Seer supports both backline classes with Healing Rune, Shelter Rune, and Death Ward. Healing Rune restores Health to allies within its area, Shelter Rune provides repeated shields, and Death Ward temporarily prevents a selected teammate from being defeated. If enemies reach the backline, Intimidation Rune and Wind Surge can knock them away.
Stardust Sorcerer is far better in trios than it is in solo queues. Its longer casting times are much easier to manage when two teammates can protect it, allowing Gravitational Vortex to pull enemies together and Stun multiple targets, Meteor Impact to knock them into the air, and Stardust Tempest to slow an entire area while dealing continuous Magic Damage. Forbidden Gate can also block enemy movement and projectiles while still allowing allied projectiles to pass through, giving Blackarrow a safer position to fire from.
Mistfall Hunter Best Classes Explained

Shadowstrix and Blackarrow are the two S-Tier Mistfall Hunter classes. Both dominate solo PvP, but they do it in very different ways. Shadowstrix controls engagements through mobility and stealth. Blackarrow relies on range, specialized arrows, traps, and accurate third-person aiming.
Shadowstrix
Shadowstrix is your typical assassin that has access to stealth, backstabs, etc. This class is pretty bursty, which is exactly what you want in solo PvP. Besides, he’s got a good toolkit for moving around and escaping.
|
Specialization |
Important Skills |
What They Do |
|
Dagger |
Sneak, Shadow Wheel Slash, Flash Stride, Smoke Bomb, Shadow Strike |
Sneak grants Stealth. Shadow Wheel Slash provides a three-stage attack chain with Energy recovery. Flash Stride is a damaging forward dash. Smoke Bomb obstructs enemy vision. Shadow Strike dashes forward, then sends a delayed shadow toward the new position to damage and Stun enemies. |
|
Dual Blades |
Flurry Strike, Bloody Blade Dance, Fang Rush, Pursuit Strike, Inspiring Impale, Spinning Slash, Phantom Shift |
Flurry Strike moves backward before dashing into an attack. Bloody Blade Dance continuously damages enemies in front. Fang Rush branches from Dodge into a forward strike. Pursuit Strike and Spinning Slash combine damage with forward movement. Inspiring Impale restores Energy. Phantom Shift teleports Shadowstrix to a selected location and increases Movement Speed afterward. |
So, just to make sure you got this - Shadowstrix is OP in Solo queue. You got Sneak for ganking unsuspecting players, Shadow Strike for rushing in, Spinning Slash, Pursuit Strike all have their uses. For escaping and surviving, you got Smoke Bomb and Phantom Shift.
In Trios, you’ll primarily use the same tactic - pick off the enemies while your buddies draw their attention.
Blackarrow
Blackarrow is just a ranger that has access to two types of arrows, which are their specialization paths: Archer’s Arrows for more damage-focused builds with knockbacks, piercing shots, etc. Hunter’s Arrows add more buffs and debuffs, if that’s your preferred playstyle.
|
Specialization |
Important Skills |
What They Do |
|
Archer’s Arrows |
Steel Arrow, Concussive Arrow, Lightning Arrow, Bloodfly Arrow, Splatter Arrow |
Steel Arrow pierces one target. Concussive Arrow Staggers enemies and knocks them back at full draw. Lightning Arrow chains damage between nearby enemies. Bloodfly Arrow applies continued damage with partial True Damage. Splatter Arrow deals area damage and has no cooldown or Energy cost. |
|
Hunter’s Arrows |
Soundwave Arrow, Barbed Arrow, Paralysis Arrow, Spore Arrow, Featherlight Arrow |
Soundwave Arrow Exposes enemies. Barbed Arrow damages players when they Dodge and creates a trap when it hits terrain. Paralysis Arrow produces a cloud that inflicts Exhausted. Spore Arrow creates a damaging Construct trap. Featherlight Arrow travels quickly without being affected by gravity. |
Scattershot and Impact Grenade knock enemies away, Frostblight Bomb Freezes targets, Shadow Step grants repeated Stealth activations, and Predator’s Senses detects nearby players.
In Solo queue, your goal is to keep the enemy chasing you, never allowing them to reach melee range. Scattershot fires seven arrows and knocks enemies back. Impact Grenade provides another knockback, with stronger displacement when the enemy is close to the explosion. Frostblight Bomb freezes anyone caught in its area, giving Blackarrow time to reposition or prepare another shot.
You just gotta land your shots, so personal skills do matter.
In Trios, you can just deal damage from afar while letting your other teammates take the fight to the melee range. Even one melee character like a Mercenary or Withered Knight is enough to allow you to use all of your skills and dish out as much damage as possible. You’ll have even more utility if you choose to use Hunter’s Arrows for Barbed Arrow, which makes your enemies harder to dodge and escape. Predator’s Senses will also be useful for providing information to your teammates.
Mistfall Hunter Best Class for Beginners
Mercenary is the best Mistfall Hunter class for beginners. I’ll admit, I picked up Mercenary because I didn’t want to spend too much time contemplating the class choice, and I didn’t care much anyway. But, to my surprise, this class is way more competent and holds its own against other classes. I had no issues dealing with Shadowstrixes who thought they were too cool to use their brain when facing me.
|
Specialization |
Important Skills |
What They Do |
|
Sword and Shield |
Block, Shield Dash, Whirling Cut, Stone Breaker Slash, Shield Slam |
Block protects against frontal attacks while allowing movement. Shield Dash advances behind the shield and can be used without leaving Block. Whirling Cut dashes forward with two strikes. Stone Breaker Slash can trigger a Perfect Block during its opening animation. Shield Slam grants Super Armor during the jump and slows enemies hit by the impact. |
|
Hammer |
Assault Hammer, Punishing Hammer, Hammer Dash, Hammer Spin, Skullcrusher, Earthshaker |
Assault Hammer gains Super Armor during its charged dash. Punishing Hammer branches from a Light Strike into a chargeable ground slam. Hammer Dash closes distance with a shoulder charge and sweeping attack. Hammer Spin deals continuous damage and briefly grants Super Armor. Skullcrusher and Earthshaker can be charged twice for stronger attacks, larger areas, and additional Super Armor. |
I started with Sword and Shield, and I suggest you do the same when you’re just learning the game. Being able to block attacks goes a long way when you’re trying to memorize what each monster does, and it helps in PvP, obviously. This is such a classic playstyle, where you know you can shield-charge into an enemy to close the distance, knock them down, stun them, etc.
By the way, if you’re new to the game, here’s my shameless plug - check out my guide about Farming Gyldenblod, it’ll give you a few ideas about where to find more of that major in-game currency.
Hammer is also good, but you’re losing the handy block button. Still, the hammer is unmatched when you’re farming monsters and doing those loot runs. Assault Hammer, Skullcrusher, and Earthshaker gain Super Armor during parts of their charged animations, so you won’t get staggered to death by someone like Seer with this one-handed mace. Seer’s mace has been a menace during playtests. It had the ability to keep staggering enemies with each hit in a combo. But that’s been long fixed.
Anyway, Mercenary is a great character to start learning the game with. Later on, once you know what you’re doing, you’ll probably want to switch to other classes for that high-level, high-skill gameplay.
Mistfall Hunter Best Class for Solo Players
After Mercenary, I tried Seer because I wanted to have more options to heal myself during solo runs, but it wasn’t until I tried Shadowstrix that I realized which class really is OP for solo players. Yes, I’ve already put the assassin in S-tier, but his being the best class for solo players cannot be overstated.
Sneak lets Shadowstrix approach an isolated enemy through Stealth instead of starting every engagement face-to-face. Once in range, Shadow Strike provides a forward dash followed by delayed damage and a Stun from the returning shadow. That gives Shadowstrix an opening to start its attack chain before the opponent can respond properly.
Its Dual Blades skills are also excellent for chasing wounded players. Fang Rush turns Dodge into a forward attack, while Pursuit Strike and Spinning Slash combine damage with additional movement. Inspiring Impale restores Energy when it connects, helping Shadowstrix maintain pressure instead of running out of resources halfway through the kill.
Sure, Shadowstrix is a noticeably riskier choice, especially after Mercenary, but when you already know how the game works, it’s really hard to find a better class for Solo Queue.
