Chromatic Shot Sage Build

Chromatic shot is a nice ranged build that uses this ability that converts the damage of the next cast to a random element and has a chance to blow up an enemy on kill, dealing additional AoE damage. It’s a very simple and straightforward gameplay style, just what you need to level up.
Traits and Memories
The traits mostly revolve around Licorice Note and Basic Scent Bottles, which become your second slot skill. You can mix any two ingredients to get different bonus effects. So, your trait allocation looks like this:
- Lvl 1 - Licorice Note
- Lvl 45 - Memory of Origin, Pungent Stimulant Salt
- Lvl 60 - Memory of Discipline, Elixir of Immortality
- Lvl 75 - Memory of Progress, Everlasting Nectar
The level 45 trait adds the ability to use a third ingredient. The lvl 60 traits just give us more HP, mana, and damage, while the level 75 trait increases the effectiveness of the elixir.
Skills
Focus on upgrading Chromatic Shot with the right traits. Try to use it up close, as it does more damage; this is going to help you deal with elites and bosses faster.

The thing I love about Chromatic Shot is that it gets even better up close because its projectiles can hit the same enemy. So make sure to get close to elites and bosses for maximum damage. There is a 70% shotgun damage falloff, so the extra hit for less, but the damage is still very high when multiple bolts land on the target. Just be careful not to get killed when you’re this close.
Once Jump is added, the bolts fly in a wider arc, so you can reach more enemies. This makes clearing maps faster.
Talent Trees
This build invests 24 points into each of the four trees: Goddess of Knowledge, Elementalist, Marksman, and Steel Vanguard, for a total of 96 out of 115 points. All of that to make Chromatic Shot even better.

|
Steel Vanguard |
Tailored Remedy |
Restoration from Elixir Skills cannot be removed, gives +60% additional Elixir Skill Effect with no more than 2 Elixir Skills equipped, but applies -40% additional Elixir Skill Effect Duration with no more than 1 Elixir Skill. |
Here’s a quick breakdown for each talent tree:
- Goddess of Knowledge is the first stop because this build revolves around spells, and it gives Chromatic Shot some of its best scaling. Beacon adds +2 Max Spell Burst, which means more echoes and more damage, while Burning Touch ramps Spell Aggression as you keep casting.
- Elementalist fits perfectly because Chromatic Shot counts as Fire, Cold, and Lightning at the same time. That makes the tree very efficient, and Penetrating is a huge damage boost against elites and bosses since repeated hits stack more elemental damage taken.
- Marksman covers the projectile side of the build. Gale is the standout here because it turns projectile speed into real damage, and the extra Jump support improves clear even more.
- Steel Vanguard supports the elixir package. Tailored Remedy is the key pickup, giving strong Elixir Skill Effect and making Restoration impossible to remove. Since this build uses two Elixirs, it gets the upside without suffering from the one-Elixir penalty.
Gear
All of this gear comes from Treasure Troves, which are randomly spawned zones that pop up during Acts 1-3 of the campaign. They’re meant to speed up your progression.

Chain Lightning / Spell Tangle Thea Build

This build is for Thea 1, which starts off by using Chain Lightning as a primary skill, switching to Spell Tangle at level 55. The whole idea of this build is about generating Focus Blessings automatically and then consuming them with God’s Boon for a huge damage boost. Also, Chain Lightning can convert damage to Cold, which helps freeze enemies.
Traits and Memories
The traits here revolve around passive Blessing generation and turning those Blessings into extra damage. Wisdom of the Gods gives you a Focus, Agility, or Tenacity Blessing every 2 seconds, so the build gets steady offense and defense without needing to invest into Blessing generation. Divine Prophecy then automates God's Boon, which consumes your Focus Blessings for a damage buff. Predicted Reincarnation adds even more damage at level 60, while Farewell Prophecy gives Double Damage, which acts like another strong multiplier. So, your trait allocation looks like this:
- Lvl 1 - Wisdom of The Gods
- Lvl 45 - Memory of Origin, Divine Prophecy
- Lvl 60 - Memory of Discipline, Predicted Reincarnation
- Lvl 75 - Memory of Progress, Farewell Prophecy
The level 45 traits are where the build starts to come together, since Divine Prophecy automates God's Boon and lets you cash in Focus Blessings for extra damage. The level 60 traits add another offensive layer through Predicted Reincarnation, and the level 75 traits finish the setup off with Farewell Prophecy for a big Double Damage boost.
Skills
Don’t forget to switch to Spell Tangle when you reach level 55.

We start with Chain Lightning because it is the main skill during the campaign. Beacon helps a lot early on since Spell Burst lets Chain Lightning be cast twice, which makes the skill feel much stronger while leveling. After the campaign, the build shifts into Spell Tangle at level 55 for early Timemarks.
Talent Trees
Once again, you’re going to want to start with the Goddess of Knowledge and get Beacon to improve your Chain Lighting and Burning Touch for Blink.

You need the Play Safe from Magister tree because it gives you that spell burst bonus, but after you get Assassin’s Transition later on, you can switch Magister to Prophet. Lich is a standard choice for any aura build.

This is the gear you should be aiming for as you complete the campaign. It includes legendary pieces such as the Old Grudge and Frozen Lightning.

Youga Mind Control Build

This build starts with Flame Jet for the first few levels, then switches into Mind Control at level 14 and scales affliction, erosion, and curse damage from there. The core idea is to stack damage over time on enemies, then boost it with Arcane Circle, Black Hole, and curse support on rares and bosses.
Traits and Memories
The traits for this build revolve around Youga’s Spacetime effects, giving you more speed, control, and extra scaling as you level. The setup is very straightforward, and each breakpoint adds another useful layer to the build. So, your trait allocation looks like this:
- Lvl 1 - Spacetime Elapse
- Lvl 45 - Memory of Origin, Spacetime Upheaval
- Lvl 60 - Memory of Discipline, Spacetime Cutting
- Lvl 75 - Memory of Progress, Spacetime Pause
The level 45 traits are where the build starts to feel smoother, since Spacetime Speed-up and Spacetime Upheaval add more momentum to the setup. At level 60, Spacetime Cutting gives you another strong boost, while the level 75 traits round out the build with more control and coverage through Spacetime Pause and Spacetime Expansion.
Skills
You can enable auto-channeling on Mind Control by going into Settings, then Battle, and checking the MC box. Preparation is the support that automates your other skills, and it unlocks at level 55.

Mind Control is the core skill here, so most of your energy goes into making it stronger and smoother to use. Blink handles mobility, while Ominous, Arcane Circle, and Mana Boil are automated through Preparation once you unlock it at level 55. That keeps the build much more fluid, since your supporting skills can stay active without constantly interrupting your main damage loop.
Talent Trees
This build invests 96 out of 115 points across Goddess of Deception, Psychic, Elementalist, and Lich.

|
Lich |
Off The Beaten Track |
+4 Support Skill Level, and Support Skill Mana Multiplier is fixed at 95% |
Goddess of Deception is the main damage tree here because it scales both affliction and erosion. Affliction boosts the DoT side directly, while Forbidden Power adds another strong erosion multiplier. Psychic is the defining class tree because Reap Purification is now built around Ill Omen, giving the build a max life true damage effect when enemies gain stacks. Elementalist adds Focus, which is a nice damage increase for a channeled setup, and Lich stays valuable as the aura and reservation tree thanks to Off The Beaten Track. That talent makes support-heavy aura links much easier to fit.
Gear
There are a lot of options when it comes to gear; the table below shows just one possible combination. A general rule of thumb is to strive to equip as many legendary gear pieces as possible, specifically looking for items with the following properties:
- Max life
- % damage
- INT
Stats to look out for on weapons: In priority
- Reap Damage over time
- INT
- % Affliction Effect
- % Erosion Damage

There are still a few strong alternatives worth keeping in mind. Agony’s Embrace is a good chest option if you want a mix of defense and erosion penetration, while Double Rainbow can work well in more niche setups that can match resistances properly. On gloves, Sage’s Insight is the safer and easier option if you do not want to invest heavily into Wings of Light, and Torturer’s Touch can also be useful if you want another reap source.
