MW4 Zodiac Map Overview

Let me start with a quick overview of this new Resurgence map. And, in case you’ve not played in a while, Resurgence is a shorter, fast-paced version of Battle Royale mode that lets you respawn after death until the last circle. Resurgence maps are generally smaller than the ones for Warzone, and Zodiac is no exception. Here are a few quick facts about it:

Zodiac is set in South Korea, inside and around the headquarters of DRC Advanced Systems, a fictional weapons and drone manufacturing company. Activision describes the location as a drone assembly and manufacturing headquarters, so it reads less like a city district and more like a self-contained military-industrial campus.

Visually, the map is pretty high-tech. Most of the structures are either military or R&D, with halls, warehouses, offices, various departments, and everything you might think of as needed for developing weapons and military equipment. Structurally, it also seems to be pretty self-contained and thought-out - there’s a train system that is meant to help the workers to get around the facilities and a bunch of other handy facilities made to help the workers perform their duties.

The Korean setting is also visible in the environmental design. Your official screenshots show Korean signage around the facility, South Korean flags, modern transport infrastructure, and a mountainous backdrop with wind turbines. That makes the location feel like a modern South Korean defense-tech complex built into a coastal mountain area, rather than a generic factory.

All Zodiac POIs

Here’s a quick look at all of the Points of Interest available on the map. Traditionally, Resurgence maps have POIs located close to each other, so there’s very little downtime between action. You can’t just crawl up some corner and sit there until the last circle.

Admin

Northwestern corner of Zodiac. It appears to be one of the map's larger multi-level structures, with the main office complex and surrounding exterior space.

Based on the official overview, Admin should favor a mixture of interior close-range fights and longer angles from upper floors or rooftops.

Solar

Immediately east of Admin and positioned on higher terrain along the northern edge.

The visible solar-panel field gives it much less hard cover than the larger industrial buildings, while the rocky terrain separates it from the central facility.

Old Mines

The northeastern high-ground area.

It looks noticeably less developed than the central factory complex, with scattered structures, rocky terrain, vegetation, and elevation changes. This could make it one of Zodiac's more open POIs.

Dispatch

Western side of the main industrial complex.

The map image shows several large buildings, yards, roads, containers, and direct access toward Trackline. One of the official screenshots also appears to show this sort of shipping/industrial environment.

Trackline

I'd give Trackline extra attention, because Activision specifically calls it out.

It dominates Zodiac's center and consists of a double rail line with multiple trains. Players can move through and beneath it, making it both a major combat zone and a route connecting multiple sections of the map.

This will probably be one of the most important rotation areas on Zodiac.

R&D

Eastern side of the map, between Old Mines and Sentinel.

The relatively isolated multi-story research building should offer strong elevation compared with the roads and open terrain around it.

Depot

Southwest of Trackline.

It looks like a compact industrial compound surrounded by several roads and neighboring buildings, which should create shorter engagements and plenty of ways to rotate toward Dispatch, Furnace, or Trackline.

Furnace

South-central Zodiac.

Another dense manufacturing area, positioned directly below Trackline. Its central location means players moving between the western and southeastern portions of Zodiac are likely to pass close to it.

Cooling

Southern part of the map near the shoreline.

Cooling appears to contain several large industrial buildings and service areas, with access toward the waterfront. Activision specifically mentions fighting around the shipping docks and surrounding shoreline, so this southern portion should play differently from the denser center.

Sentinel

Southeastern Zodiac.

This appears to be one of the more specialized compounds on the map. Activision's promotional text specifically says players can "storm Sentinel compounds," suggesting it may contain multiple defensible structures rather than one large building.

Zodiac Map Layout and Gameplay

As you can clearly see from the map, its layout is essentially split in half by the central railway track with actual trains running. The central Trackline structure has multiple levels, so there’s verticality on the map. Speaking of verticality, the buildings around some POIs are pretty tall, with their rooftops serving as a perfect spot for snipers overlooking those points of interest.

Underground Tunnels

There is also an underground tunnel network that can be used to rotate, flank enemy squads, or temporarily break line of sight before attacking again. It runs almost through the entire map, and it's something worth keeping in mind if you’re trying to cover all your angles.

Ground and Air Combat

The devs also hinted at the presence of combat vehicles such as a helicopter and something like an APC or a Tank present on the map. I’ll add more info once

Legendary Loot

The map does have legendary loot, but I’ve no data on where it spawns. I’ll add it once the spots are found in the game.

How Resurgence Works on Zodiac

The mode itself is pretty much the same. If you’re playing with a squad or at least one more teammate, in order for the respawns to work, at least one player in a group must be alive. There are also contracts that, when completed, reduce that respawn timer. The last squad or player alive wins. If you want to learn more about how this mode works, check out this guide.

Best Zodiac Landing Spots

I’ll add the best landing spots here as soon as I and all the other players played the map for a little bit. There’s obviously going to be some hot zones like PUBG’s Pochinki and some less popular spots. I’ll make sure to list them all for you!
