Zenless Zone Zero Agents Tier List 2026 Quick Summary
- This ZZZ’s tier list is centered around endgame side content potential
- Newer DPS and premium agents predominantly occupy the top of the list
- S-Tier agents are strong in any team and are almost game-breaking and A-Tier picks remain strong with a few team restrictions
- Lower-tier agents are not useless, but they usually need more effort or heavier investment to keep up
There are lots of cool premium Agents in the game, and if you want to get the strongest of them, you'll need lots of Polychrome. Farming it is a long and a tough process, so why not check out our ZZZ Polychrome Farming services and get as much as you need fast.
How This Tier List Works
Before we move to the actual ranking, let’s clarify one thing: Zenless Zone Zero is not a game where lower-tier agents are left forgotten. Within good teams, most characters can do endgame content successfully. This tier list is more about separating who does it best right now and who needs a little too much work for the same result. The main criteria are:
- Meta Presence: How strong the agent is in Shiyu Defense, Deadly Assault, and other endgame content.
- Team Variety: Some agents work everywhere. Others need a specific team choice.
- Investment: Agents that work well without perfect Mindscapes or signature W-Engines are ranked higher.
- Role Competition: A decent agent can still rank low if another character does the same job better.
I’m ranking agents based on current performance, not the theoretical max damage. If a character needs too much effort to feel good, it’s a key factor in placing them lower. Now let’s look at the full Zenless Zone Zero agents tier list.
Zenless Zone Zero Agents Tier List

The current ZZZ meta is heavily shaped by newer DPS agents and premium characters. You can check the patch notes to see the current order of things. Older Attack characters are still playable, but many of them feel incapable. We can thank the new bosses who demand faster damage dealing and a more front-loaded pressure. That’s just how gacha power creep works in general. Here’s what each tier means:
- S-Tier: The best agents in the game. They define the meta or fit into many strong teams
- A-Tier: Very strong agents that are worth building, but usually have more team restrictions than S-Tier
- B-Tier: Usable and often good, but either outclassed, more niche, or more costly to get them going
- C-Tier: Playable, but not someone I’d recommend building first. Also includes Billy.

Do note that in specific role tier lists below, you might see the absence of certain lower tiers, and that’s because some categories just don’t have bad Agents. This playlist was written with people who already play the game in mind, but if you find some terms that you don't understand, refer to this beginner's guide for clarity. Ye Shunguang, Aria, Yixuan, Miyabi, and Astra Yao are the big names here, but the Stun and Support roles are just as important. A bad DPS with great supports can still look fine. A good DPS with no support starts looking like a sad training dummy test. Now let’s break the list down by role.
Best Defense Agents in Zenless Zone Zero
Defense is still the smallest role in ZZZ, and it shows. The best Defense agents, ironically, aren’t the ones who defend the best. They also buff damage, support specific archetypes, or give enough utility to justify taking a slot. Shields alone are nice, but they don’t help much in general:
|

Agents |
|
S-Tier |
Zhao |
|
A-Tier |
Caesar King, Pan Yinhu |
|
B-Tier |
Seth Lowell |
|
C-Tier |
Ben Bigger |
Zhao is the best Defense agent right now. Despite being a free agent, she is crazy strong. Her strongest side is the support buffs, and she also has her own Either Veil form. But the coolest thing is that she can be paired with many strong Agents, and considering that the defense category is quite narrow, you absolutely need her. Caesar King is still in a good place, narrowly avoiding S-Tier ranking, but she’s just getting outclassed little by little. With buffs, she’ll go up a tier. She’s an S-Rank. I think the devs will work something out. Pan Yinhu is more of a support, cause the playstyle is taking him out on the field and using his EX attack, then switching back to your Attacker. He works great with Rupture agents thanks to Sheer Force support, but he pairs best with Ye Shunguang. Seth offers an Anomaly-focused shielding, but that’s about it. Poor bear used to be one of the best characters in the early days, but here we are. His built-in parry is still cool, though.
Top Stun Agents in Zenless Zone Zero
Stun agents, and they’re more important than ever. Once again, the situation is pretty much the same as with Defense agents. The best Stunners aren’t only good for Daze bar filling. They do a lot of stuff like buffing damage, making ultimates better, they can be off-field helpers, etc. If all your stunner does is stun, they better do it really well:
|
Tier |
Agents |
|
S-Tier |
Dialyn, Ju Fufu, Nangong Yu, Trigger |
|
A-Tier |
Lighter, Qingyi |
|
B-Tier |
Von Lycaon, Koleda |
|
C-Tier |
Pulchra, Anby Demara |
Dialyn is the best Stun agent in ZZZ, because she turns Chain Attacks into direct Ultimates, which is just ridiculous. She stacks with any Attack and Rupture teams. Lots of good buffs too. If you’re looking for a valuable Agent to invest in as an F2P player, you should dish for her first. Ju Fufu is right next to her. She’s one of the most useful stunners, though used mostly as an off-field character. Another point in her favor is that she’s kind of a semi-DPS, especially for the updated bossfights with bloated HP bars. Nangong Yu is amazing for Anomaly teams, as her Abloom and Disorder combos land as ten-tonne trucks. Trigger is a superb stunner, especially in Aftershock teams, esp with Soldier 0 Anby, but she’s flexible enough to fit her in other teams as well. Lighter is like a seasonal character. Every time there’s a new Fire or Ice character, he returns to meta. He’s still good within these team comps, though. Qingyi is still a really strong but no longer an absolute top Agent as when she was released. Lycaon and Koleda still work, but only sometimes. Lycaon has been reduced to a field-stunner, and Koleda just became outpowered. Pulchra can be good only if you have Mindscape 6. It changes her buffs to be effective for all party members. Anby is unfortunately really out of meta, though you can definitely slot her in a team with moderate success.
Meta Support Agents in ZZZ
Support might be the strongest role in Zenless Zone Zero. A good Support agent basically makes the whole team work, to the point where support’s presence can lift the team from mediocre to outstanding. This is why you’ll find the top Supports ranked so high overall. They aren’t always the flashiest, but supports are traditionally the strongest characters in any gachas, Zenless Zone Zero not being an exception:
|
Tier |
Agents |
|
S-Tier |
Astra Yao, Yuzuha, Sunna, Lucia |
|
A-Tier |
Nicole Demara |
|
B-Tier |
Lucy, Rina, Soukaku |
Astra Yao is still the best Support in ZZZ. She has outstanding buffs, and she does the job while being off the field. She heals and fits into more teams than she reasonably should. If you don’t know which Support to use, Astra is usually the answer. It seems that Astra will never leave the podium. Yuzuha is the best Anomaly Support. If you want to build an Anomaly team comp, you cannot find anyone better than her. Virtually every skill she has feeds into that. The coolest thing is that she’s the second-best in any other team comp right after Astra. Sunna is another top-tier option, especially for attack-scaling teams. Lucia is also S-Tier thanks to her Ether Veil and great Aftershock effects. Don’t forget strong general buffs. Nicole is still one of the best budget supports. She stacks enemies and has defensive debuffs, which are always useful. Our B-Tier Supports, Lucy, Rina, and Soukaku, are all playable, but they’re more limited in their options. Lucy can do some off-field boar damage and buff attack, Rina works in Shock teams and can become even stronger with Mindscape 1, and Soukaku is mostly a one-trick pony that fits only into Ice teams where she provides attack buffs.
Strongest Anomaly Agents in Zenless Zone Zero
Anomaly is in a very good spot right now. The best Anomaly agents trigger huge damage through a wide variety of attribute-based effects that make enemies disappear before you finish reading the debuff name. The lower-tier ones are okay, but you definitely want to get those top agents:
|
Tier |
Agents |
|
S-Tier |
Aria, Miyabi |
|
A-Tier |
Promeia, Alice, Vivian, Yanagi |
|
B-Tier |
Burnice, Jane Doe, Grace |
|
C-Tier |
Piper |
Aria is one of the strongest current Anomaly agents in Zenless Zone Zero and one of the best DPS picks overall. Her Ether Anomaly power is great in the current meta, and she isn’t as matchup-dependent as some older Anomaly agents. Miyabi is still Miyabi. She has survived several meta shifts and still melts enemies. I genuinely think that it’s impossible to nerf her. Promeia is the newest major addition here and lands comfortably in A-Tier. She has some strong Ice Anomaly skills and works well in both Anomaly and Stun teams. Alice is excellent, thanks to her built-in assault that stacks well with other attribute Anomalies, plus she can get her resources back over and over again. Vivian still remains one of the best off-field Anomaly partners. Yanagi is trickier, but Polarity Disorder is definitely worth looking into cause with it she can be your personal S-Tier Agent. Burnice has a catchy theme song, and she became better after buffs and still has off-field presence, but it’s not enough. Jane Doe is fun and still strong, but she is outclassed by newer characters. Grace improved, though not enough to compete with the top. Piper is playable, but she’s just too weak even if you invest in her.
Best Attacker Agents in Zenless Zone Zero
Attack is the most crowded role in ZZZ, and also the one that suffered the most from the newer boss design. Older attackers often need long stun windows or setups, while newer ones just start kicking it immediately. Funny how that helps in timed endgame modes:

|
A-Tier |
Seed, Soldier 0 Anby, Evelyn, Cissia, Orphie & Magus |
|
B-Tier |
Ellen Joe, Hugo Vlad, Harumasa, Zhu Yuan, Soldier 11 |
|
C-Tier |
Nekomata, Billy Kid, Corin, Anton |
Ye Shunguang is the best Agent in Zenless Zone Zero right now. Every other attacker pales in comparison. Not even the attacker, every other character, if I’m honest. It doesn’t matter if the enemy is stunned or not. She got hands all day, every day. If you want to progress through the endgame content, that’s your choice. A definition of power creep and a game’s philosophy changing. Seed is a fantastic Electric Agent. Pair her with Orphie & Magus and breeze through most of the content the game has to offer. Soldier 0 Anby used to be really bland and not worth currency spent on getting her, but with decent buffs that amped her damage and made her synergize with other characters better, she’s an easy top of an A-Tier and now finally feels like a real premier Electric DPS. Evelyn is still strong, even if she isn’t the queen of Fire damage nowadays. Cissia is a strong Electric Attack agent, but you really want a good team to pair her with, like with Seed or other Electric builds. I’ve always found Orphie & Magus strange, acting more like off-field damage and support, but they work surprisingly well. Ellen, Hugo, Harumasa, Zhu Yuan, and Soldier 11 are all pretty decent. Ellen feels better after buffs. Hugo has great burst damage if you pair him with Ligher and Von Lycaon. Harumasa isn’t bad, but he’s just outclassed by Soldier 0 Anby. Zhu Yuan needs buffs more than ever, since the new boss fight design works actively against her playstyle. I like Soldier 11’s gameplay, and recent buffs have made her somewhat stronger. Her timings to activate flame suppression got easier, and now you can do way more damage with her, but it’s still not enough. Nekomata is kinda bad. Her backstab gimmick doesn’t work against modern bosses. Anton, Billy, and Corin are at the bottom. I’ve seen some people being able to utilize Anton in endgame content, much like Billy and Corin. Doesn’t mean I’d recommend these three.
Meta Rupture Agents Zenless Zone Zero
Rupture is the newest DPS role and already has some of the strongest characters in the game. These agents usually focus on Sheer damage and have more unusual resource mechanics. Some are quite simple, and others require a PhD to play them, it seems:
|
Tier |
Agents |
|
S-Tier |
Yixuan |
|
A-Tier |
Starlight Billy, Yidhari, Banyue |
|
B-Tier |
Manato |
Yixuan is the best Rupture agent and one of the best characters in ZZZ overall. She deals Sheer Force damage, has a parry resource gain, and even has two powerful forms of Ultimate. She takes some practice, but the payoff is massive. Definitely recommended. If you are struggling with her, check this build out. I can’t see how the developers will top this amount of pure DPS. Starlight Billy is the newest Rupture agent here and already looks much better than his original version. The HP-based Sheer Physical damage is just insane, and I don’t think the devs will tweak it any time soon, so at least one Billy finally escaped the basement. Yidhari has a strong Ice Rupture kit. Banyue is powerful too, but he’s harder to play and asks for more execution than most players would want to learn for the payoff. Manato is not bad, especially for an A-Rank Rupture unit. He sacrifices HP for damage and has decent flow, but compared to the S-Rank Rupture agents, he’s just a tad worse. Build him if you need a cheaper Rupture or want to try this role, but don’t expect him to compete with anyone above in the list. I’d say that Rupture is one of the more intriguing roles that we’ll see developing this year. It’s still small with few agents, but they are strong, and the game clearly wants this role to be a big deal.
