Best Decks for C.H.A.O.S Mode

The best decks for Clash Royale Chaos Mode are made of cards with the most overpowered and insane modifiers. There are 5 decks that I believe are worth your attention because they’ve been highlighted by multiple credible sources, including streamers like Ryley and your favorite RoyaleAPI. Here are those decks:

No.

Cards

Deck 1

Golem, Goblin Barrel, Goblin Demolisher, Baby Dragon, Electro Wizard, Vines, Furnace, The Log

Deck 2

Golem, Goblin Barrel, Baby Dragon, Electro Wizard, Vines, Furnace, Electro Spirit, The Log

Deck 3

Goblin Barrel, Goblin Demolisher, Knight, Barbarian Hut, Poison, Electro Wizard, Vines, The Log

Deck 4

Goblin Barrel, Goblin Demolisher, Knight, Barbarian Hut, Poison, Electro Wizard, Suspicious Bush, The Log

Deck 5

Goblin Barrel, X-Bow, Knight, Barbarian Hut, Electro Wizard, Dart Goblin, Vines, The Log

You might wonder why these decks look almost identical. That’s because in Chaos, there are only 50 cards that you can make the deck from, and not a lot of them are even that good, especially if you’re looking to play the Chaos League. In the Competitive mode, your choices are even more limited. That said, you still need to know how to use these decks, which modifiers to take, and when.

Deck #1: Golem Furnace BBD

Copy deck: https://link.clashroyale.com/en/?clashroyale://copyDeck?deck=26000009;28000004;26000095;26000015;26000042;28000026;27000010;28000011&l=Royals&tt=159000000

This deck is pretty insane and can be used to win matches quickly if your enemy doesn’t know how to react to it. Let’s go over the cards and why they’re chosen:

  • Golem - mega tanky unit and a replacement for the Giant if you’re a low-level player. The best mod is the Gooey Golemites because it gives you 2 extra Golemites when the big one is destroyed.
  • Goblin Barrel - perfect for dealing damage to the towers without having to wait for units to reach them. Best mods are - Double Barrel and Muscle Mates for extra barrels.
  • Goblin Demolisher - deals AOE damage, is pretty tanky, and blows up when taken enough damage. Also charges towards the nearest building when about to blow up. Best mods are - Go the Distance for extra range and the Skippin’ Bombs Like Stones.
  • Baby Dragon - best aerial unit that gets even better, Gargantuan Flameballs that give it fireball attacks
  • Electro Wizard - is great for dealing AoE damage from a distance, especially with Quadruple Ruple or Chain Reaction mods that let the Wizard zap more units in one attack.
  • Vines - one of the few defensive cards that does a lot of things - deals damage, stops units, and grounds aerial units. All in one card.
  • Furnace - can summon fire spirits and also deal with aerial units, best spawned further away from action.
  • The Log - the log is great in attack and defence. All 3 mods are excellent - extra range, spawn Lumberjack, or the boomerang.

This is the deck with the highest winrate based on RoyaleAPI, and it's easy to know why. You have everything you need to constantly attack and harass the opponent, quickly taking care of any units while also dealing damage to the buildings. I especially love it when I can summon the Golem and the Goblin Barrels at the same time and then put the Electro Wizard or Furnace whenever possible.

But even if you don’t get the hand to play, you never feel like you have nothing to play, all cards are just too good, and you’ll always find a combo of 2-3 cards with mods that will make your opponent throw everything they have to stop you.

For example, one crazy start is if you get the Go the Distance mod for the Goblin Demolisher. This just means that you can put one and then later 2 or more Demolishers on your side of the map, by the gap, and they will just keep throwing dynamite sticks at the towers and everything else. Since they deal a lot of damage, it's going to be very difficult to counter.

On the weak side, I would say that it's pretty difficult to defend with this deck, despite it having Vines and the Log. Especially if the other player gets the momentum rolling, it's going to be very difficult to stop them. All you’ll have to rely on in defense are the vines and Baby Dragon, because you have to keep the Electro Wizard and Furnace safe, and it's hard to do when the enemy’s army is on your side of the arena.

To counter this deck, I’ve seen players use the Goblin Barrels as well, along with the Graveyard - anything that you can use to force the player with this deck to defend could be your chance to win, because it's going to be difficult for them to successfully defend and then counterattack. That said, it all depends on the skill, and since this is the deck with the highest winrate it’s not a difficult one to play with.

Deck #2 Golem EWiz ES Furnace

Copy deck: https://link.clashroyale.com/en/?clashroyale://copyDeck?deck=26000009;28000004;26000015;26000042;28000026;27000010;26000084;28000011&l=Royals&tt=159000000

This deck is mostly the same, and the only change is replacing the Goblin Demolisher with Electro Spirit. The tactics with the rest of the cards are more or less the same, so let me focus on what the Electro Spirit gives you.

Electro Spirit has 3 possible Mods:

  1. Sentient & Spirited — +3 Electro Spirits
  2. Zap, Glorious Zap — zaps all units
  3. Don't Look Directly at It — Chain Lightning

All 3 mods let you zap more enemies, and this is great because it goes hard with Electro Wizard, who has similar mods. I’ve had a game where I got down to King’s Tower, but I managed to turn it around by spamming Spirits and Wizards, who all zapped all units the enemy sent. But it's not just about the defence. In offense, the deck is the same as the previous one, hence why it currently has the second-highest win winrate in this mode.

Also, I want to add another cool combo that revolves around Furnace’s modification called - Semifunctional Furnace. This just basically turns Furnance into a stationary unit that just spawns the fire spirits. If you put it behind the King’s Towers, the Furnace will keep spawning spirits, and nothing will stop it unless the enemy uses Fireball (one won’t kill it) or Poison. It’s even mentioned by Ryley in one of his videos. If you’re lucky to get this mod, put two Furnaces behind the King’s Tower, and then you can just summon whatever you want - the match is yours.

Deck #3 BarbHut EWiz

Copy deck: https://link.clashroyale.com/en?clashroyale://copyDeck?deck=28000004;26000095;26000000;27000005;28000009;26000042;28000026;28000011&tt=159000000&l=Royals

Pay no mind to the naming of these decks because the highlight of this deck is the cards Poison and Barbarian Hut, as these replace the other popular cards for this mode. Let’s break down these choices:

  • Barbarian Hut - constantly spawns barbarians until the timer runs out or the building is destroyed. Great for constant pressure when you attack and defend. Useful mods - increased spawn rate, elite barbarians, or mini-mega hut.
  • Poison - creates an area on the ground that damages all units in its radius. Great for damaging large groups of units. Increased range and permanent poison are the best mods.
  • Knight - a run-of-the-mill unit keeps the deck cheap. Good mods are stun attacks and the Mega Knight.

These 3 cards make the deck unique, changing how you play. If you have ever used any buildings that spawn units in your decks before, you already know the deal - place it somewhere out of reach and have it spawn the troops. Then send some supporting units like the Knight, Demolisher, or Wizard to form an attacking army. Poison can be used defensively and offensively; just drop it where most enemy units are.

The weak side is the hut if you don’t know how to defend it. Usually, enemy players would use something ranged, like an X-Bow or any of the ranged spells, to kill it. Dealing with a knight isn’t a big problem, and since other cards are very popular in this mode, everybody knows how to counter them. Still, it’s a pretty good deck that you should try out.

Deck #4 SBush BarbHut

Copy deck: https://link.clashroyale.com/en/?clashroyale://copyDeck?deck=26000097;28000004;26000095;26000000;27000005;28000009;26000042;28000011&l=Royals&tt=159000000

This deck features Suspicious Bush that helps you attack even more unpredictably. This card has 3 modifications:

  1. If One Goes, We ALL Go — Vines on reveal
  2. Looks Fine to Me! — +2 Bush Goblins
  3. Always Look in the Bush! — 4 Bush Brawlers

All of these mods are great, but my favorites and the strongest are the one that adds more goblins and the one that upgrades them to Brawlers. So, what does that give you? Between the bush and the Goblin Barrel, you can now reliably attack enemy towers with very little resistance. Both cards are able to get to the towers undamaged, forcing the enemy spawn units close in order to defend. The Barb Hut is an excellent pressure card in this deck because while the enemy is dealing with the intruders, you put the hut somewhere close to the border and start applying that pressure with a constant flow of barbarians. Things will get even better if you can get that extra range mod on the demolisher.

Playing against this deck can be overwhelming, but if you do have the right defensive card, you’ll be fine. Use Poison and tanky melee units like the knight and his variations to easily clear out the intruders. Use some ranged units to take care of the hut. If you noticed, this deck doesn’t have any aerial units, and having them on your deck will help you counter it more easily.

Deck #5 X-Bow Dart Goblin

Copy deck: https://link.clashroyale.com/en?clashroyale://copyDeck?deck=28000004;27000008;26000000;27000005;26000042;26000040;28000026;28000011&tt=159000000&l=Royals

This deck features two new cards - X-bow and Dart Goblin, replacing the demolisher and poison. More ranged units means you’ll have an easier time defending and attacking without losing your units. X-bow has the following modifications:

  1. Radical Range — +50% range
  2. Magically Miniscule — piercing attacks and a shorter lifetime
  3. Shockingly Short — Sparky attacks and a shorter lifetime

This card already has an insane range, which lets you defend both lanes and destroy any buildings on the other half if you put it close to the border. The two modes make it even stronger. Dart Goblin has these modifications:

  1. Speedy Goblinez — +100% hit speed
  2. Call Him Darcher — Magic Archer darts
  3. Shocking Gum — Sparky darts

This card is great against any units, including aerial ones. It has a high fire rate, and it can be upgraded to deal more damage. This gives you 3 ranged units overall, which may seem like overkill until you realize how easy it is to push to the enemy tower. Just put the Barb Hut closer to the border, summon the knight, or throw the goblin barrel, and it's going to be hard to spot them all. On defense, you mainly have the range of the bow to take advantage of. Moveover, the Dart Goblin will easily dispense any weak units.

What’s bad about this deck and how to counter it? The X-Bow is hella expensive, and it dies pretty quickly. If you’re playing against this deck, focus on the bow, and the rest will be easier. Dart Goblin is also weak and can be overwhelmed by stronger units that don’t die in one shot.
