Legacy Uniques Guide for Diablo 4 - Season 15

New uniques have dropped! Well, kinda. Legacy Uniques are artifacts from previous games in the Diablo franchise. They work differently from their predecessors, and that’s why I took responsibility to write this Legacy Uniques guide for Diablo 4 - Season 15 and explain how each of the 10 new uniques works.

Diablo 4 Legacy Uniques

With Season 15, titled Season of Hell’s Legacy, we received (sort of) new, exciting Legacy Uniques to rock and fit into our builds. Some didn’t make it from PTR, like Ring of Royal Grandeur, but the rest are here, and we even have Messerchmidt’s Reaver, which wasn’t present in PTR. There are 10 uniques added to an already big roster of Diablo 4 Uniques. They’re titled after legendary gear from previous franchise entries, but they’re pretty different. If you are worried that they’re seasonal, they’re not. Developers confirmed that these are permanent additions, so you’ll be able to get them even after the season ends. Their unique affixes can be pretty decent, like Leoric’s Crown, or pretty mediocre, like Nemesis Bracers. Anywho, here are all Diablo 4 Legacy Uniques:

Increases Fishing yields by 100%

All in all, these Uniques have generic effects without cool interactions with certain skills, yet that’s what makes them powerful, especially The Furnace. You probably also noticed that there’s a Unique made for fishing. I honestly forgot it was even a thing since the release of the Lord of Hatred expansion. Overall, the affixes these Uniques have are pretty easy to understand even if you’re new to the Diablo series, but I’ll still explain most of them briefly. I’m not gonna talk about Godly Plate, as it’s more of an easter egg/meme chest piece than something to be used in your build.

Leoric’s Crown

One of the strongest Uniques of season 15. Its effect makes it count as a Jewelry, so you can socket powerful gems, including Soul Splinters, which are unique to this season. Not only that, but it also increases the effect of socketed gems by 75-100%. It can roll a lot of various affixes, but you’re guaranteed to get only one:

  • Attack Speed +8.0-10.0%

This Unique opens new paths for all builds, as it’s a Unique that’s not tied to any specific class. Expect to see it in many leveling and endgame builds. It drops during the season’s questline.

Nemesis Bracers

Less exciting than Leoric’s Crown, this Unique is created to make farming easier and more fun. It works like this: each time you interact with a Shrine, an Elite Pack spawns in. More elites means:

  • More Drops
  • More XP
  • Interactions with Elite-centric Uniques like In-Geom or The Furnace

This is not going to be a part of any endgame builds, but for leveling or getting any Uniques your build lacks, it’s irreplaceable. Not much else can be said about it, so let’s move on.

Stone of Jordan

A legendary item from Diablo II. Perhaps the most iconic item from this list. It works pretty differently in Diablo 4, though. It’s an exceptionally strong item for survival and damage. It has two main effects:

  • All your Resistances become equal to your highest Resistance
  • You deal 15-25%[x] more damage of that Element

Any build that uses Elemental damage will profit hugely from this item, but even if you don’t rely on Elemental damage, it seriously bumps up your survival rate. It also means that instead of painstakingly trying to min-max your Resistances, you can just cap one of them and wear this ring. It also has a guaranteed affix of +Ranks to All Skills, so it’s an insane value from just one slot. Just like Leoric’s Crown, this Unique drops during the season’s main quest.

Squirt’s Blouse

A classic glass cannon staple. Or maybe a very tanky cannon, if you can proc Fortified regularly. It works pretty simply - when you’re not taking damage, you gain increased damage, but once you get hit to your Life points, you lose the bonus and also take more damage. In numbers:

  • Gain up to 30-50%[x] increased damage
  • Receive up to 50% increased damage

The thing is, Diablo 4 has a lot of various projectiles that can easily sneak up on you unnoticed. Honestly, this game sometimes feels like bullet hell. If you have ways to avoid damage, such as:

  • Barriers
  • Good range
  • Minions
  • Crowd Control

Then you should definitely use this Unique. If your character stays in the middle of the action and constantly gets slapped by enemies, avoid it.

Arioc’s Needle

A curious one, and it is definitely a build-defining Unique, if I know a thing or two about this game. It’s built around Deadly Strikes, which is kinda like Critical Strike, but with special interactions, and it’s a two-handed weapon, which is pretty significant, cause 2H weapons should have a strong affix going for them, and luckily this weapon has it:

  • A 35-50% chance to deal Deadly Strike
  • Deadly Strikes deal 70-100% increased damage

This weapon can only be used by Barbarian, Druid, or Spiritborn, but I think that on Spiritborn, this weapon truly shines. In case you don’t know how Deadly Strikes work, they can proc increased damage on any damage you deal, even DoT. Your DoTs can crit now! I think that Barbarian and Druid have better ways to use a two-handed slot, but I think we’ll see a lot of endgame builds for Spiritborn using it.

Henri’s Perquisition

Apart from looking like a cat, this Unique has a pretty interesting effect. It gives you Primary Stat equal to 85-115% of your Dexterity. This Focus can be used by:

  • Sorcerer
  • Necromancer
  • Warlock

So if you’re a Sorc this season, Henri can turn unnecessary Dexterity into a huge Int boost. Any Mythic Uniques that give big boosts to all stats, like Harlequin Crest or Shroud of False Death, will boost you even further. But now that I think about it, is it really worth it? I mean, there are tons of great focuses for three of the mentioned classes.

In-Geom

A Diablo III legendary that returns this season. Many endgame builds utilized either this weapon or The Furnace, set as an extra affix in their Kanai Cube, which is just another name for the Horadric Cube. I was more of the Furnace guy, but iirc Monk was getting a lot from this weapon. Its effect is really strong and synergizes well with another Legacy Unique, Nemesis Bracers. Upon killing an Elite Pack, you receive 8-10 seconds of CDR. That’s huge, especially if you have an Ultimate form skill in your build. This 1H Sword can be used by:

  • Barbarian
  • Druid
  • Rogue
  • Necromancer
  • Paladin
  • Warlock

Once you get your first Elite Pack, you’re practically unstoppable. Pop your Ultimate form and prance through your enemies to the final boss. This Unique will work great in dense Nightmare Dungeons, Helltides, and Waking Nightmares. It’s not as great if you have to spend a long time killing a boss at the end of the dungeon, but oh well. Can’t have everything.

The Furnace

The GOAT of Diablo III. Everyone wanted to get a good roll on this weapon, and no wonder, since it increased your damage immensely. It’s no joke here either. The affix is pretty simple. You deal 150-200%[x] more damage to Elites. That’s it. You can use it on:

  • Barbarian
  • Druid
  • Necromancer
  • Paladin
  • Warlock

In Diablo III, what made this weapon popular was that you could extract its legendary affix and put it into the Kanai Cube as an extra weapon effect. Unfortunately, there’s no such thing in D4. But guess what, it can drop as a Legacy Unique charm! We’re so back, baby.

Messerchmidt’s Reaver

The one Legacy Unique that wasn’t present on PTR servers. It was only released in patch 3.2.1. Another great 2H weapon. Here’s what it does:

  • Lucky Hit: Attacks have up to a 20–30% chance to explode, dealing Fire damage and reducing your Cooldowns by 1 second.

It’s usable by the same classes as two of the above weapons:

  • Barbarian
  • Druid
  • Necromancer
  • Paladin
  • Warlock

On fast-hitting builds like Whirlwind Barbarian, this weapon will have the biggest impact on your damage output. Think of it as a different take on In-Geom. In-Geom needs to kill Elites to be functional, and Messerschmidt’s Reaver only needs lots of Lucky Hit rolls.

Legacy Unique Charms

As I briefly mentioned Legacy Unique charms in The Furnace section, seven Legacy Uniques can also appear as Unique Charms for the Talisman:

  • Arioc’s Needle
  • Henri’s Perquisition
  • In-Geom
  • Nemesis Bracers
  • Squirt’s Blouse
  • Stone of Jordan
  • The Furnace

Leoric’s Crown and Messerschmidt’s Reaver currently do not have Charm versions. The ability to set these Uniques as charms is huge. It can be hard to justify spending a slot on some of these Legacy Uniques, but as build-supporting charms, they’re insanely strong.

F.A.Q

How many Legacy Uniques are in Diablo 4 Season 15?

There are 10 officially announced Legacy Uniques. They are Leoric’s Crown, Nemesis Bracers, Stone of Jordan, Squirt’s Blouse, Arioc’s Needle, Henri’s Perquisition, In-Geom, The Furnace, and Messerschmidt’s Reaver.

What is the best Legacy Unique in Diablo 4?

It depends on the build. Leoric’s Crown looks particularly strong because of its interaction with Soul Splinters, while Stone of Jordan is a strong elemental option and The Furnace is ridiculous against Elites.

Can Legacy Uniques drop on Eternal characters in Diablo 4?

Yes. Legacy Uniques are permanent additions and are not exclusive to Seasonal characters.

Does Leoric’s Crown work with Soul Splinters in Diablo 4 Season 15?

Yes. Blizzard fixed an issue where Soul Splinter effects weren’t applying through Leoric’s Crown, confirming that the interaction is intended.
