Apex Legends Marked Legends Tier List

For the 30th season, Apex Legends reinvents itself quite dramatically. The devs are reworking World’s Edge, adding new Corrupted attachments, and overhauling the energy weapon system. They are also finally making Bloodhound viable again, so if you liked the character but didn’t wanna play them due to how weak they were - now is your chance. Before I rank all Apex Legends characters in this tier list, let me clarify what each tier means:
- S-Tier: Strongest Legends. The top of the list are all OP
- A-Tier: Strong and reliable characters that outshine the rest of the list, but don’t break the meta
- B-Tier: Undertuned or very skill-dependent characters
- C-Tier: Bad, but not pure trash
All the balancing changes were made to make Apex Legends “the most competitive Battle Royale out there”, to quote them. Will they manage to fulfill their promise? Only time will tell. In this article, however, I cover only the Legends and their changes. I wouldn’t say that the meta shifted that much, but some of the favorite Legends got gutted. Let’s see who survived the nerfs in this full Apex Legends tier list for season 30:
|
Tier |
Legends |
|
S-Tier |
Seer, Octane, Alter, Lifeline, Conduit, Mad Maggie, Loba |
|
A-Tier |
Axle, Revenant, Bloodhound, Pathfinder, Wraith, Gibraltar, Newcastle, Caustic, Fuse, Catalyst |
|
B-Tier |
Rampant, Bangalore, Mirage, Vantage, Sparrow, Horizon, Crypto, Valkyrie, Watson |
|
C-Tier |
Ashe, Ballistic |
During the previous season, I put Vantage into D-Tier, but now, after playing for some time, I can say that I was extremely harsh. I still think that she could’ve had a better skill synergy, but this season is gonna be slower than previous ones from what I can tell, which means no more Arsenal rush, since the loot’s quality has been reduced to avoid early power spikes, and all Legends that rely on positioning more than active combat are in a good spot. You can also notice that Axle and Valkyrie are in A-Tier and B-Tier, respectively. I think I might be a bit generous for Valk, and maybe she’s even worse than that after significant nerfs, but Axle nerfs aren’t gonna be character killers, and she now just requires a bit more skill. Let’s go over each tier, and I’ll briefly explain each Legend for this patch.
S-Tier Legends Season 30

These Legends truly deserve this name, as they’re very strong and either can’t be easily substituted or just outclass other characters in what they do. Our new S-Tier entries are Seer and Mad Maggie. Seer’s Split 2 buffs made him even stronger than he already was. Maggie is the strongest Assault Legend in the game, and the current patch supports her even better. Below you’ll find the S-Tier Legends for Season 30:
- Seer: Every skill he has got an update. Heartbeat Sensor procs faster, he slows enemies with his tactical far better, and his Ultimate is just disgusting. He was an A-Tier Legend, but now with these changes he’s absolutely an S-Tier, despite some reasonable nerfs this season. No more Tac spamming during the Ulti.
- Octane: Even though this season plays slower than the previous one, that doesn’t mean Octane isn’t dominant anymore. Octane has an incredible run, staying strong since the beginning of this year without any significant changes. Squad Rush is absolutely OP.
- Alter: No changes to her since the previous season. Still a very strong character, and her passive is even stronger now. If you don’t remember what it did: it allows you to pick one item from the deathbox that isn’t a shield. Considering how rare items are actually rare now, she’ll definitely be picked a lot this season. She’s kinda difficult, so be sure to check out this guide.
- Lifeline: I mean, it’s Lifeline, still the best support in Apex that can raise knocked teammates while participating in a fight. Learn how to play her well, and you’ll win more games than any other Legend, no exaggeration.
- Conduit: Another great support, though not as great as Lifeline. To put it bluntly, she makes you tankier, you can res your teammates faster, and her Ulti is a great space denier, which is gonna be very handy in Season 30.
- Mad Maggie: Since this season puts more emphasis on positioning and cover, Maggie can’t go anywhere other than S-Tier cause her whole kit is about breaking cover and denying ground. Plus she’s just a joy to play as.
- Loba: With harder looting comes the need in Loba’s Black Market. The devs knew that she’ll be picked way more this season and decided to buff her as well, so that you don’t feel like you play a one-trick pony. Her Tactical has been buffed, and her Ulti CD is reduced by 20%.
Even though there are several significant buffs this season, none of them are big enough to put the Legends in S-Tier. I can imagine how some people would think that Bloodhound will be an S-Tier character, but I’d rather play it safe than overplay her power cause from the patch notes, she seems to be much stronger, but not overly so.
A-Tier Legends

This tier is all about strong and reliable characters that are not breaking the meta or carrying the games on their own. If you’re just learning Apex, I suggest learning some characters from A-Tier as they’re rarely nerfed to death and sometimes are even buffed, like Seer, for instance. Here’s a list of A-Tier legends:
- Axle: She got Alter treatment in that her nerfs require more skillful play from you than before. The most controversial change is her Ultimate cause now you damage and stun yourself, so unless you manage to hit all enemies, you’re a free kill.
- Revenant: Same as previous season, not much has changed. Great 1v1 fighter, easy to die if you don’t play well.
- Bloodhound: That’s not even the same Legend anymore! The most exciting change this season. Now they actually fit their name, specifically the hound part. Your white and black ravens are stronger, but passive and Tac aren’t the stars of the patch. The Ultimate is. It’s called Allfather’s Cloak, and it’s a half-sphere that hides all players within it. It can be used as both a disengagement skill and a quick repositioning tool.
- Pathfinder: With Valkyrie being nerfed, I can see Pathfinder returning as the Legend that helps his team to reposition quickly and get out of harm’s way. Nothing really changed since the last season when it comes to his skills. It’s just that he fits this patch.
- Wraith: Still a hell of a Legend in skillful hands. No wonder many veteran players still main her. No changes from the previous season. If you haven’t picked her up last season, now is the best time to start learning her.
- Gibraltar: Good old Gibby with no changes from last season. You can capitalize on his bubble way more now, as positioning is a huge part of the patch.
- Newcastle: Potential S-Tier, but he’s way too complex to play and realize his potential. That’s why he’s only A-Tier. If you’re a good Newcastle player, you’ll find this season way more fun than the previous one.
- Caustic: Still the best control Legend. His ultimate downside being super slow isn’t as bad in Season 30, but it’s still the biggest hurdle to playing him. If you were willing to give him a try, but didn’t want to be a deadweight to your team when moving between POIs, now is the time.
- Fuse: Well-balanced Assault, plays well this season, no changes from Overclocked.
- Catalyst: Another good control Legend. Catalyst and Caustic are a deadly combo for trapping other players. It’s a truly vile way to play, I say. No balancing changes from season 29.
I didn’t talk about Bloodhound’s Ulti in detail cause I didn’t want to turn these bullet points into paragraphs, so let me talk about it here. The Cloak lasts for 8 seconds, but its cloaking effects on your Legend linger for 12 seconds. If you are shooting or using abilities from under it, the Cloak breaks. If it takes damage, it breaks. Basically, when you’re under the Allfather’s Cloak, it’s ceasefire. Communicating with your Bloodhound is a must, as they’re the only ones who can use their skills under the Cloak and can even shoot from under it with the level 3 perk.

B-Tier Legends
B-Tier Legends are largely outclassed by others or were nerfed, but not so much to call them dead. If you main any of the B-Tier Legends, you still can have successful matches and win as before, but they’re much weaker compared to S-Tier Legends. Some Legends escaped C and D tiers to fill the slots in here, while others dropped from the devs’ favor.
- Rampant: High B-Tier. Is it deserved? We’ll find out this season. All I know is that devs really try to make her work, and she received some significant buffs, which is unfortunately not enough to get her out of here. Her hop-up effect is 50% faster to gain now, her wall is buffed, and her Ulti got a move speed increase with the Ramped Up perk pushing it even farther, so now she’s fully played around her Ulti rather than being a turret as devs initially wanted.
- Bangalore: She’s alright this season, nothing exciting, nothing dramatic. Good against Gibby and mixes well with Octane.
- Mirage: No balancing in patches, but feels better to play in Season 30, and I can’t even put my finger on what makes him better this time. Call it a sixth sense.
- Vantage: She’s alright, but nothing crazy. I was too harsh to put her in D-Tier cause she’s not that bad. Her repositioning skill is kinda good for this meta, actually. Plus, her ability to scan the enemy and see their equipment is much more potent now with all the loot changes.
- Sparrow: He’s severely outclassed by Seer. Seer used to be this careful info gatherer, but now he’s an oppressive bully, and guess what - Sparrow should be filling this role instead of Seer. He’s still good, don’t get me wrong, but he might as well be C-Tier cause nobody is picking him this season over Seer.
- Horizon: Same as Fuse, but less varied and fun. Maybe even less strong than the previous season, but I still don’t think that I need to put her in C or even D-Tier. Just a mediocre Legend.
- Crypto: Perhaps the only Legend that can be both S or D-Tier. If you are a good Crypto player, he’s great. If you’re just learning, you’ll be actively harming your team. You also need to have a squad you play with to capitalize on Crypto’s potential, and if you don’t have it, he’s even worse.
- Valkyrie: I can’t believe I say this, but the devs just decided to butcher her. The reason is kinda stupid actually. She was picked too often, and her Tac was strong. I’m a bit salty cause I liked playing Valk, but this season I don’t even know if it’s worth it. Tac does 40% less damage, Ult is worse, and some upgrades were nerfed.
- Watson: She is the only control Legend that doesn’t move at least a tier up. That’s sad and tells you more about her current state than anything else. Please buff this cutie.
While B-Tier is not bad, most of the Legends in here have some glaring flaws it’s hard to look past, and if you’re willing to do that, you’ll find that it’s not entirely worth it. Still, B-Tier has some decent characters, but if your group consists of only-meta players, you’re likely to get flamed for picking any Legends from this list.
C-Tier
I think that Ashe and Ballistic will never leave the bottom of any tier list. They’re just bad. Funnily enough, Ashe isn’t that horrid when it comes to her skill kit, but it’s just super weak. If she is buffed, she can jump up to A or B-Tier. Maybe even S if the balancing team does something extraordinary or changes one of her skills.
Ballistic, on the other hand, is just amazingly bad. Someone from the balancing team still hates his guts and refuses to do anything about that. This character is ultimately worse than any other choice in the game, and I recommend just forgetting that he exists unless you like suffering and people screaming at you from frustration.
F.A.Q
Who are the best Legends in Apex Legends Season 30?
I recommend picking Seer, Loba, Mad Maggie, and Lifeline during this season. They’re all extremely potent and will be meta staples until the next split and maybe even further if they’re not nerfed.
Who is the best Apex Legend for beginners?
Bangalore, Conduit, Fuse, Lifeline, and Pathfinder for new players. Conduit and Lifeline are especially good cause they’re both in S-Tier this season. Apart from that, you can try Loba and Octane.
Which Legends benefit most from the Apex Legends Marked meta?
Legends built around positioning and area denial benefit the most. Mad Maggie can force enemies out of cover, Gibraltar gains more value from his bubble, and Caustic becomes easier to use when rotations and fights are less rushed.
Is Bloodhound good after the Apex Legends Season 30 rework?
Yes. Bloodhound is much stronger after the rework, especially because Allfather’s Cloak gives the squad a new way to disengage, reposition, or reset a fight. The ability is powerful, but it requires communication because attacking or using abilities can break the cloak.
