How to Farm Uniques in Diablo 4 Season 13 Quick Summary:

How to Farm Uniques Using Horadric Cube

Horadric Cube is a new addition in Lord of Hatred. Unfortunately, it is only available for those who have purchased the expansion. It’s one of the best ways to get Uniques in Diablo 4. This doesn’t concern the Mythic Uniques, though, as they’re not obtainable through the Horadric Cube, at least directly. More on that later. Still, Uniques are very powerful and can even be better than the Mythics, especially if you get multiple Greater Affixes. Below are two ways to farm Uniques using the Horadric Cube.

Using Item Transmutation

Find the section in the Horadric Cube that says “Upgrade to Unique”. That’s what we’re gonna be using. This method allows you to get a random Unique item of the same slot by using three materials:

• 1x Common Item
• 1x Enhanced Primordial Dust
• 10x Raw Primordial Dust

Any common item will do, though I don’t recommend putting in the Commons with Greater Affixes cause they’re better used for other Horadric Cube recipes. The Raw Primordial Dust is super easy to get, so you’ll likely have a ton of it. This isn’t the case with Enhanced Primordial Dust. This is a Unique Crafting Material, so it’s almost as rare as the Uniques themselves. You can get it from:

• War Plans
• Tree of Whispers Caches
• Elite monsters (including Bosses)

Item transmutation is the most reliable way to get Uniques in Diablo 4, so don’t sleep on it. Be warned, though: for any Uniques to drop, you need to be at least on Torment I world difficulty. Any difficulties below that don’t drop them.

Using Unique Recycling

This method only works if you have three of the same Uniques. Nothing can be as disappointing as seeing a Unique that has bad affix rolls on it. Luckily, you can use them for something better than just resources now:

1. Select “Recycle Uniques” in the Horadric Cube menu
2. Place three of the same Uniques in the Horadric Cube
3. Press Transmute

Doing so will transmute three mediocre or bad Uniques into a new one. Unfortunately, recycling Uniques doesn’t guarantee that the new item made this way will be better or have better rolls. You still can get poor rolls, so do this only if you wanna gamble.

Best Ways to Farm Mythic Uniques

While the Horadric Cube is a surefire way to get the Uniques, Diablo is all about odds and RNG. In Lord of Hatred, however, we have the ability to minimize the element of randomness. While you can farm the Uniques and Mythic Uniques without the Lord of Hatred, the War Plans make it so much easier. They’re a new feature available only for those who purchased the expansion. I’m not gonna go very deep in the explanation on how they work, as there’s a whole article for that, but in short: there are nodes that make the loot drops from Lair Bosses and Undercity insanely lucrative. You can get 3-5 Mythic Uniques in one run if you’re lucky enough. I’ll tell you how that works in each separate section dedicated to the top ways to farm Mythic Uniques in Diablo 4:

1. Lair Bosses (Duriel, Andariel, Harbinger of Hatred, Belial, Mephisto)
2. Kurast Undercity (Mythic Tributes)

With the new season and changes in how the item drops work, you now need to be on Torment I in order for Uniques to drop. If you didn’t get the expansion, your ways of farming Uniques didn’t change much. Here’s how to farm Uniques without Lord of Hatred:

• Obol Lottery: Still one of the best ways, especially now that you can increase the chance of an extra item dropping with Seasonal Blessings’ Urn of Curiosities.
• Tree of Whispers: Mostly useful for getting Mythic Tributes.
• Helltide: Great for target farming Uniques through Helltide Chests.
• Crafting at Jeweler or Blacksmith: By far the most reliable way to farm Mythic Uniques for players with no expansion is using the 2 Resplendent Sparks to either get a random Mythic Unique from Blacksmith, or using the 2 Resplendent Sparks and certain runes to craft a specific Mythic from a Jeweler. You can get Resplendent Sparks by finishing Seasonal challenges or killing Uber bosses for the first time during the season.
• Lair Bosses: Duriel, Andariel, Harbinger of Hatred, and Bloody Butcher have the best chance of dropping the Mythic Uniques (~1.5% chance).
• World Bosses: They have a decently high chance of dropping a Mythic Tribute of Armaments that allows you to farm Kurast Undercity.

Of course, you can get Uniques to drop from nearly any content, including the Nightmare Dungeons, and with the new difficulty system, I highly recommend farming them on Torment X, as this seems to be the best difficulty in terms of effectiveness.

 

 

Best Method to Farm Mythic Uniques from Lair Bosses

Lair Sosses are among the hardest challenges Diablo 4 has to offer. They’re main game bosses cranked up to 11. The game separates Lair Bosses into three categories: Exalted, Greater, and Initiate. Before Season 13, we only had one Exalted Lair Boss: Belial. Now, we can add Mephisto to the list. Just so we are on the same page, here’s a list of Lair Bosses:

Initiate Lair Boss	Beast in the Ice, Grigoire, Lord Zir, Urivar, Varshan	Lair Key x1

The system works as a ladder. You get a Lair Key from any endgame activity, then go and fight the Initiate Lair Boss, who then drops a Greater Lair Key. After you fight any Greater Lair Boss, you have a chance to either get ambushed by Belial and get the Betrayer’s Husk drop, or defeat the Greater Boss and get a chance of getting the Crux of the False Prophet. You also get a Crux for completing Rank VII of Season 13 challenges. If you are lucky enough to get a Mephisto key, I suggest waiting til you’re powerful enough for Torment X, as on this difficulty, the odds of getting a Mythic Unique from him increase. The Belial lets you choose any Unique drop from other Lair Bosses with increased chances, plus, on paper, he also has the highest Mythic Unique drop chance. Each boss has a chance to drop a Mythic Unique, but here’s how you can increase the odds.

One of the oldest yet reliable ways of getting the Mythic Uniques is now better than ever with the addition of War Plans. While Initiate Lair Bosses have a chance of dropping Mythics too, Greater Lair Bosses have significantly better odds of getting the Mythic Uniques. Learn the best method to farm Mythic Uniques from Lair Bosses :

• Open the War Plans in Skovos
• Select the tab that says Lair Bosses
• Upgrade the “Two by Two” node in the middle row

“Two by Two” is the first upgrade in the War Plans you want to take. After you open a Hoard Chest with the Lair Key, there’s now a low chance to open a portal that leads to Nemesis Lair, where you’ll fight two copies of the same Lair Boss you’ve just fought. Nemesis Lair has much greater rewards than just a normal Lair Boss, and the odds of it dropping Mythic Uniques are noticeably higher. 

After upgrading “Two by Two”, you need to upgrade “Greater Nemesis”, which opens another portal after you’ve completed the Nemesis Lair. Inside that portal, you’ll find two Greater Lair Bosses. 

Finally, you need to unlock “Ultimate Nemesis.” This lets you interact with the altar by placing 5x Betrayer’s Husk, which then opens a portal to the Ultimate Nemesis Lair, where all monsters gain +5 Monster power. Defeating the boss within the Ultimate Nemesis Lair grants drops worth 10 Hoard Chests. Pure dopamine receptor overload. I’ve yet to experience this, but I’ve seen people getting multiple Mythic Unique drops this way.

 

 

How to Get Multiple Mythic Uniques from Kurast Undercity

This method also utilizes the War Plans upgrade system. Unlike Lair Bosses (except for Mephisto), this method is among the most reliable ways to get Mythic Uniques. I got multiple Mythic Uniques in 5 out of 6 runs of Undercity. There are some preparations you need to make to get the same Mythic drops:

1. Find the Mythic Tribute of Armaments: They drop better on higher Torment difficulties. One of the best ways to get Mythic Tributes of Armaments is by offering the Grim Favors to a Raven of the Tree or by killing the World Bosses
2. Select the Undercity tab in War Plans: Upgrade the left row until you get to the “Gutter Filth” node. This node grants a small chance to summon a Portal Prankster when activating a Beacon.

Farming Kurast Undercity is, in my opinion, the best way to get multiple Mythic Uniques in Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred. If you are unlucky with getting the Mythic Tributes, remember that you can use the Horadric Cube to amalgamate five Tributes of the same rarity for a higher rarity one. Just like with the Mephisto’s key, I highly suggest holding on to Mythic Tributes until you’re powerful enough to capitalize on them. 

As for the War Plans upgrade, if you upgrade the next node after “Gutter Filth”, called “Trials and Tributes”, you’ll get a Tribute Chest for each Portal Prankster you slay at the end of the run. That’s why I highly advise you to go out of your way to light as many braziers as possible, even if you have enough to fight the boss.
