Today, we’re listing the best skins in Fortnite for no particular reason. With six chapters of content and the seventh chapter ongoing, it’s about time we remembered the best, most unique, most used skins in the game. But let’s get something clear - we’re talking about character skins, aka “outfit”, not back blings, pickaxes, gliders, or even the kicks or cars. We’re also going to be mostly avoiding the collab skins, pop culture skins, or superstar skins. As cool as they all are, everybody has their favorites, and I don’t want to yuck anyone’s yum in that regard. So, we’re mostly going to be listing original skins with a few special mentions and unexpected categories.

As mentioned before, we’re going to start with the best Fortnite skins, listing them along with their release date, chapter, customization options, and a bit of a brief history behind each one. Most skins regularly appear in the shop in bundles or separately, so if you take a liking to one of those, chances are you can still get it. Plus, you can track each outfit’s appearance in the in-game shop with some online resources. Now, without further ado, let’s get started.

Lynx (Chapter 1, Season 7, Dec 6, 2018)

This is one of the top Fortnite skins and the original characters in the game that have this very cool suit with 4 color styles:

Default - dynamic color change animation

2. Blue
3. Black

Besides this suit, she has more casual variants where she wears a hoodie and a cap with cat ears. Her bundle also includes:

Drift is one of the most iconic characters and the first of the Fox Clan to come to the game. He comes with really diverse progressive styles:

The black-and-jade color palette, sharp heels, and flowing black hair make the silhouette look clean and striking, and the leg tattoo plus ribbon-style markings give the skin a story without needing extra cosmetics. While she only has one more color version, the Ouroboros, the skin is so good that it doesn’t need any extra options. Her set includes:

The Ageless has the coolest knight design in the game - the navy blue base suit, the white and gold armor, and one of the most badass-looking helmets you’ve seen. Valeria (Chapter 5, Season 1, Dec 3, 2023)

An incredible tier 100 skin with one of the best Fortnite outfits. Valeria used to be one of the most charismatic characters in Chapter 5. She stands out thanks to her striking mix of elegance, danger, and flair. Her design leans into her “flame and knowledge” theme, pairing a sleek white jumpsuit with fur-trimmed shoulders and fiery coral accents that flare at the cuffs and along the hem of her trousers. The glowing embers rising from her boots make her feel like a calm, composed villain who’s always surrounded by controlled power, and her vivid red hair, oversized glasses, and sharp accessories give her a confident, high-society presence that fits perfectly with The Society’s aesthetic.

What really makes Valeria such an iconic Battle Pass skin is how much personality is baked into her look. She isn’t just stylish — she looks like someone who knows she’s the smartest person in the room. That matches her lore as a brilliant researcher and ruthless leader obsessed with unlocking the secrets of Pandora’s Box.

She’s got two primary styles:

Then she also has additional customization options for the colors - Society Scarlet and Stygian Green (on the image). You can have the glass on or off, and there are 4 options for superlevel styles:

Daigo (Chapter 6, Season 1, Dec 1, 2024) & Mask Maker Daigo (Chapter 6, Season 3, Jun 9, 2025)

Daigo is one of those skins that already looks great on its own, but becomes even more compelling once you understand his story. His base design has a sleek, modern Japanese-inspired look, with a tactical jacket, dark color palette, and a minimalist white mask that gives him a mysterious, calculating presence. He feels like someone who’s always in control — the genius “man of a thousand faces” who hides more than he reveals.

In-game, Daigo also has a strong amount of customization, which helps sell that identity-shifting theme. He comes with three core style variants:

1. Daigo — standard outfit
2. Daigo (Jacket Off) — more casual and tactical look
3. Kintsugi Daigo — fractured gold detailing tying into his lore

You can also toggle his mask on or off, which completely changes his vibe and expression as a character.

Best Meme Skins in Fortnite

I figured I’d include the funniest skins in the game in their own category, because they just deserve a mention in their own right. These skins are just funny-looking and super creative. My top meme skins are:

Peely and Fishsticks need no introduction; they’re practically the game’s mascots by now, but you can’t deny how creative these skins are. Seeing them in the game just reminds me to take it easy and have fun - what Fortnite is supposed to be about. 

Mancake is as cool as he is hilarious. Whoever came up with the idea of creating a walking stack of pancakes dressed as a Wild West gunslinger with sticks of butter on his cartridge belt! He has a whopping 6 customization variants, one of which gives him a mustache that just adds to the absurdity, and I love it!

Meowscles needs no introduction either, as he is another Fortnite mascot. This beefed-up calico kitty is one of the funniest characters out there. His variations are no less amusing. The Toon Meowscles is a 30s cartoon style variation with a black and white palette and large eyes. The Purradise Meowscles has a tropical shirt and a hilarious mullet. Finally, the Phantom Meowscles is Halloween’s version with that creepy but still funny purple smile.

Talk about collabs - Ghost Ri-Durrr has got to be the funniest Marvel / Fortnite collab character. Once again, the artists at Epic have outdone themselves. The burnt burger in the Ghost Rider Outfit is outright genius!

Jokes aside, one of the coolest stats you can look up out there is what skins are used the most, and the results will probably surprise you. So, here’s the list of the top 10 most used skins in Fortnite:

Personal Favorite Fortnite Skins

Can’t end the list of the best skins with dry data, so here’s my personal top of skins in the game in no particular order. As a proper boomer, I have no other reasons for naming my best skins except for the vibe I’m getting from them.

Marty McFly (Chapter 7, Season 1, Nov 29, 2025)

I can’t believe Marty, Doc, and DeLorean haven’t been added until now. As always, the devs absolutely nail the looks of these characters. Marty looks slightly lost, just like I am when playing Fortnite. But what I love the most is the customization options between the classic puffy vest from the 80s and the 2015 (future) version with adjustable sleeves.

The addition of Nike Air Mags is a nice touch, and so is the iconic Gibson ES-345 that gives you “the new sound you are looking for." The whole bundle is just one big treat for someone who loves these movies.

The Good Doctor (Chapter 2, Season 4, Oct 29, 2020)

This is a two-in-one skin for Jakyl & Hyde. You essentially get a built-in emote that lets you switch between the two skins on the go! And yes, the aesthetic might not exactly fit the game’s map, but it’s still one of the most unique skins I have seen in the game.

Guild (Chapter 1, Season 8, May 8, 2019)

One of the simplest skins out there, this is the character I play the most, because I think he fits the Fortnite theme the most. He is my “John Fortnite” if you wish. He clearly looks like an adventurer like Nathan Drake or Indiana Jones with a slight whiff of outlawness to him, which I absolutely love.

Conclusion

There’s a good chance that you absolutely hate every single skin mentioned here. The cool thing about this game is that everyone can find a skin that they absolutely love. Stats and rareness be damned if all you care about is collecting all TMNT or Power Ranger skins. There’s also an impressive amount of skins from the most popular anime series that have their own iconic look that hasn’t been adapted but rather carefully preserved in Fortnite. This is one of the reasons it's a one-of-a-kind game.
