Where to Find Lunoculus in Genshin Impact

Lunoculus can be found when exploring Nod-Krai, Voidsea Outlook, and Frost Moon. These collectibles are like other regional Oculi, such as Hydroculus, Geoculus, Dendroculus, Anemoculus, Electroculus, and Pyroculus. If you expect anything different gameplay-wise from the usual Oculi collectibles, then no. The difficult part is that Lunoculus locations are spread across surface areas and underground zones. To answer the question of “Where are all the Lunoculus?”, I’ve numbered every Lunoculus location by map section:
|
Region |
Lunoculus Numbers |
|
Nod-Krai |
1-9, 10-37, 38-50, 51-74, 75-92, 93-112 Underground |
|
Voidsea Outlook |
113-158, 159-185, 186-192 Underground |
|
Frost Moon |
193-197, 198-208, 209-216, 217-246, 247-251, 252-266, 267-271 |
By following the suggested route, you can build a complete Lunoculus map and collect everything in the order you’d see it throughout the story mode. I recommend marking each one after you pick it up. You can do that on this popular map website, where I took the screenshots for the article. Trust me, “I’ll remember this one” is how you end up missing number 184 and questioning your life choices.
All Nod-Krai Lunoculus Locations
The first major Lunoculus route starts in Nod-Krai. This part covers Lunoculus 1-112, including the underground section. The order is somewhat awkward cause you’ll be exploring the map in a kind of zigzag. Let’s look at all Nod-Krai Lunoculus locations.
1-9 and 38-50 Lunoculus Locations

We start our Lunoculus collection journey with Nasha Town and then make our way to Clink-Clank Krumkake Craftshop. If you collect the Lunoculus in the order they appear in the story, then you can move on to the next section. If not, the Lunoculus 38-50 are spread around Barrowmoss Barrens.
10-37 Lunoculus Locations

All Lunoculus on this island can easily be collected while progressing through the story. You start at Frostmoon Enclave before traveling to a southwest peninsula and then making your way back to Light-Bathed Platform. Don’t forget to explore the northern part of this island, too.
51-74 Lunoculus Locations

Don’t forget to collect Lunoculus 38-50 before continuing to the northern part of the main island. You’ll go from Starsand Shoal to Blue Amber Lake, then to Eye of Kratti into the Nothing Passage. Travel to the northernmost pier, and that’s where you’ll travel to the next island.
75-92 Lunoculus Locations

This is a large mechanical island. In order to progress further, you’ll need to complete the story beats first. You start at the pier of Kuuvahki Experimental Design Bureau, then move in a clockwise direction to collect all the missing Lunoculus. Travel to the eastern part of this island and then to the Final Night Cemetery.
93-112 Underground Lunoculus Locations

You must’ve noticed that I skipped some of the Lunoculus locations in Nod-Krai, but that’s because I wanted to gather all underground locations under the same heading, so here they are. Split between all three islands.
All Voidsea Outlook Lunoculus Locations
Voidsea Outlook continues the Lunoculus route from 113 to 192. This part includes open terrain, coastal paths, elevated areas, and another underground section. It’s much more straightforward than Nod-Krai. Most Lunoculus collectibles are in close vicinity of each other, but that can kinda create a problem where you start getting the Lunoculus one after another without marking the ones you’ve collected immediately, and you lose track of them. Don’t forget to mark the acquired Lunoculus, please.
113-158 Lunoculus Locations

I’d highly recommend collecting the Oculi pieces in order here. Start at the pier and make your way to the nearby small island to the east. Go to the northern section of the island, explore the Piramida first, and move on to Dreadshade Mire. Explore the hills around Pillar of Embla and Favonius Keep before continuing.
159-185 Lunoculus Locations

The only reason I’ve decided to split the Lunoculus from 113 to 185 is cause it’s easier to navigate this way. To get these collectibles, start at Amsvartnir and proceed to Cliffwatch Camp. After you go through the narrow road between two rocks, you’ll end up at Kipumaki Cliff before finally moving on to the Special Territory Research Institute.
186-192 Underground Lunoculus Locations

This time there aren’t that many underground locations, unlike in Nod-Krai, so your path will be very direct. As usual, don’t forget to mark the Oculi pieces as collected.
All Frost Moon Lunoculus Locations
In the latest 6.7 patch, we’ve got a new location, Frost Moon. This area contains the final Lunoculus pieces, from 193 to 271. At least for now it’s final. This map area is stacked with Lunoculus, which can be seen from the number of sections for this part of the article, although I gotta say it’s mostly cause the Lunoculi are so spread out here. Let’s take a look at all Frost Moon Lunoculus Locations.
193-197 Lunoculus Locations

We start at Dunanna Pit before diving underground and collecting the four Lunoculus here. Try to collect these pieces in one go cause it’s kind of a pain to backtrack and collect them after you move away from here.
198-208 Lunoculus Locations

Lunoculus 198-208 are found inside the circular Frost Moon area called The Eye of Ibni-Belum. It’s a big crater that’s quite easy to explore. Lunoculus #204 and 205 are located underground in the eastern crater. Don’t miss them.
209-216 Lunoculus Locations

This was my least favorite section to explore and collect Lunoculus pieces. You can explore tiny islands that have the Lunoculus 209-216 using the pathways leading to them from the south of Ungien’s Circle. Go to Bubble Pool on the south first, then to the Archaeolune Storm Research Center on the west, and finally to the tiny island on the southwest. Lunoculus # 213 and 214 are found underground inside the Research Center.
217-245 Ungien’s Circle Surface Lunoculus Locations

This map covers the surface area around Ungien’s Circle, as you can understand from the heading title. The surface image includes locations of Lunoculus fragments #217-220, 223, 227-231, 234-238, and 245. This map is kinda awkward to use, so my apologies in advance.
221-246 Underground Ungien’s Circle Lunoculus Locations

This underground map covers Lunoculus locations #221-222, 224-226, 232-233, 239-244, and 246. These are easy to miss if you only follow the surface map, so clear this layer separately before leaving the area to progress through the plot.
247-251 Lunoculus Locations

Lunoculus 247-251 are located on a small Nuur Stone Circle, east of Ungien’s Circle. Since this route is compact, it’s best to collect all five in one pass before moving to Moontide Sea. Lunoculus #251 is located further down southeast at Traveler’s Crater.
252-266 Moontide Sea Lunoculus Locations

The penultimate location of Frost Moon, the Moontide Sea, contains Lunoculus 252-266. The route is spread across small islands and water paths, so use the map carefully. For simplicity’s sake, I’ve decided to mark both surface-level and underground Lunoculus on one map.
267-271 Dark Side of the Moon Lunoculus Locations

The final Frost Moon route covers Lunoculus 267-271 in Dark Side of the Moon. This is a short route compared to the rest, and you’re highly unlikely to miss the Lunoculus pieces.

How to Use Lunoculus in Genshin Impact
After collecting Lunoculus, bring them to the Statue of the New Moon in Nod-Krai. Offering Lunoculus increases the statue level and gives rewards like Primogems, Mora, Luna Sigils, Shrine of Depths Keys, and other useful items. You don’t need to use Lunoculus manually from your inventory. Just interact with the statue and offer them when you have enough for the next level.
How to Find Missing Lunoculus
If you’re missing one or two Lunoculus after finishing the map, don’t panic. It’s usually one of three things: underground, hidden behind vertical terrain, or you might’ve skipped it because two markers are close together on the map. Here’s what I recommend:
- Recheck all underground maps first
- Look for numbers you forgot to mark off
- Check the surface and underground versions of the same area
- Use the minimap icon when you’re close
- Unlock and use the Luna Treasure Compass if available
- Revisit Frost Moon sections last, since they have the most layered routes
The most important rule is simple: don’t trust memory. Mark everything. Genshin exploration is already enough of a test without turning it into detective work.
