Best Loadout for Every Operator in Rainbow Six Siege Quick Summary:
- Attackers' loadouts mainly rely on ARs and DMRs for easier mid-to-long range fights. Defender loadouts focus more on SMGs, shotguns, and machine pistols.
- Most attacker loadouts use magnified scopes (ACOGs), flash hiders, and vertical grips.
- If the defender has access to a secondary shotgun or an SMG, it’s always the best choice.
- While gadget choices are mostly situational, the gadgets for each operator in this list are generally best for them.

Best Loadouts for Every Attacker in Rainbow Six Siege

Attackers’ loadouts are largely dominated by ARs and DMRs, which are good for medium-to-long-range combat, but aren’t that good in close quarters. As an attacker, you want to either play aggressively without giving defenders time to react or be tactical and clear the rooms one by one. If I were to make this list a few years ago, I’d never advise taking DMRs, but they became one of the strongest weapons in the game, especially if you’re a KBM player. This list focuses on KBM loadouts, although console loadouts don’t change that much. In some cases, you’d wanna swap out the vertical grip for a horizontal one, but that’s about it. I’d say it’s safe to use these loadouts on consoles as well. Now let’s move on to the best loadouts for every attacker in Rainbow Six Siege:

Know that if you’re playing as an attacker, ARs are better or equal to DMRs, DMRs are better than LMGs and Shotguns. For the secondary, machine pistols are better than normal pistols, which are better than revolvers. Gadgets are ultimately a situational choice, but in this list, they are more of a better general option for each operator.

Best Loadouts for Every Defender in Rainbow Six Siege

The majority of defenders have SMGs and Shotguns as their main weapons, with only 5 of them having access to ARs. While this doesn’t seem that significant, since one shot to the head leaves anyone dead, it’s very good for spawn peeking. Though spawn peeking has been significantly nerfed, it’s still a great way to quickly get rid of the offenders. This list will largely consist of safer options, though. Just know that it’s possible to spawn peek if you have access to an ACOG (Magnified scope) on your weapon of choice. Here’s a list of the best loadouts for every defender in Rainbow Six Siege:

And that’s how my list of all the best loadouts for each operator in R6 Siege ends. Defenders’ strength is in their gadgets. The attackers will reach the site eventually, but with these loadouts, you’ll have no problem keeping them out until the timer reaches zero.
Read our other Rainbow Six Siege guides:
F.A.Q
What is the best Rainbow Six Siege loadout?
There’s no single ultimate solution to having the best loadout. Loadouts depend on the operator you use, the map, and the role you fulfill during the match.
What attachments should I use in Rainbow Six Siege?
If you are an attacker, always pick Magnified B for sights. If you are an entry-fragger, consider picking Holo A scope. For defenders, always go for any clean 1x sights. Vertical grip is the strongest grip in the game. Barrel attachments vary, but they’re all quite useful, especially flash hiders and muzzle brakes.
Are DMRs good in Rainbow Six Siege?
Yes, DMRs are very strong, especially if you play with a mouse and keyboard. They deal serious per-bullet damage and can be quite fast, only slightly losing to ARs.
What is the best attacker loadout in Rainbow Six Siege?
The best attacker loadout usually uses an AR or DMR, a Magnified B scope, and a gadget that helps clear utility or open space. Frag grenades, smokes, EMPs, and hard breach tools are all good options.
What is the best defender loadout in Rainbow Six Siege?
The best defender loadout includes either an SMG or shotgun, a secondary weapon that allows you to quickly breach soft walls, and a gadget that delays attackers. Nitro Cells, deployable shields, impacts, and barbed wire are common picks.
Should I use laser sights in Rainbow Six Siege?
Depends on your goal. If you are planning on playing aggressively, then go for it. If you are planning to take it slow and hold angles, don’t use them.
