Noor Operator Guide in Rainbow Six Siege Quick Summary:
- Noor is a 2-speed, 2-armor Defender built around anti-entry, area denial, and disrupting shield-led pushes
- His Horus Lance Launcher has five charges and can attach to shields, surfaces, and many deployable gadgets before creating a temporary flame zone
- Noor can use the Horus Lance for much more than shield countering, including breach interruption, plant denial, and destroying attacker utility
- His weapon choices let him anchor with the ALDA 5.56 or play more aggressively with the Commando 9
- Noor becomes significantly more dangerous with coordinated teammates who can slow, interrupt, or punish attackers caught dealing with his gadget

Rainbow Six Siege Noor Guide

Noor is a new operator, introduced in Y11S3 in Rainbow Six Siege. Even though Noor was posed as a counter to the shield operator meta, he turned out to be a little too good at countering everything. He’s a Defense Operator, and considering that the defense side has always been stronger than the attacker’s side, having a decent Noor on your team frequently results in a win. Here’s what you need to know before we dive deeper into this Rainbow Six Siege Noor guide:
- Speed: 2
- Armor: 2
- Gadget: Horus Lance Launcher
- Role: Area deny/Anti-entry/Shield op counter
As you can see, his speed and armor make him pretty flexible, and he can both roam and hold site. His gadget is insanely strong, and in-game, he quickly became more of a breach denial op, akin to Kaid, since his Horus Lance charges can destroy Thermite, Hibana, or Ace’s breaching devices very fast and with absolutely zero counter to it. His playstyle is further supported by Noor’s loadout options:
|
Slot |
Options |
|
Primary |
ALDA 5.56 / Commando 9 |
|
Secondary |
1911 TACOPS / Bailiff 410 |
|
Secondary Gadget |
Deployable Shield / Barbed Wire |
ALDA is one of the best weapons that I’m always happy to use, and it’s especially good for holding down sites. Commando 9 isn’t as good, but if you decide to roam on Noor, it’s better than nothing, plus it has an easier recoil pattern, so if you struggle with it, consider this gun. 1911 pistol isn’t something I’d ever use, cause Noor’s another option is the Bailiff 410, which is great for creating rotations and site prep. As for secondary gadgets, barbed wire is the way to go. You can place it in the doorway and then place your Horus Lance charge above it to make attackers lose their minds.
How the Horus Lance Launcher Works and Best Ways to Use It

Idk what the developers were thinking by giving Noor this monstrosity, but this is the best gadget in R6 Siege right now. It has 5 charges, with 2 loaded into the launcher. The charge sticks to surfaces before spewing fire. It does a lot of damage and lasts for a good 10 seconds before breaking. Here’s a full breakdown of the Horus Lance in bullet points:
- Five charges total, two in the chamber
- Charges can stick to surfaces and most deployable gadgets (I’ll provide a table with what you can and can’t interact with later)
- Flames deploy on both sides of the charge if possible. On impenetrable surfaces, the flames go out only from one side
- ADSing shows which surface can be penetrated and which can’t, much like Zero’s gadget
- Flames last for 10 seconds, dealing 12 damage per tick. A direct body hit with the projectile deals 50 damage. Range isn’t too long, about a doorway width
If you hit an operator wielding a shield, the flames go out only on their side. The charges don’t stack, so you can’t shoot two charges at Monty’s shield and do 2x damage. This effect doesn’t apply to surfaces. You can put multiple charges on one stationary shield. Now let’s see the best ways to use the Horus Lance Launcher.
Shield Countering
The most obvious way, and the reason Noor was made. Shoot the charge at the shielded operator and watch them burn to a crisp. Note that they can take out the charge in a short window after it sticks to them, forcing them to open up and become vulnerable.
- Works best against shield-wielding operators like Montagne, Blitz, Blackbeard, and Fuze. Funnily, if you put the charge on Clash’s shield when it’s placed, it’ll spew flames from both sides, effectively denying space to your enemies even further.
- Don’t shoot immediately once you see the shield operator. Wait till they are forced into an inconvenient position.
- 5 charges x 10 seconds in theory grant 50 seconds of delay. If you play your cards right, you steal a lot of time from attackers.
- Best combined with Thorn, Echo, and Oryx to stop a shielded operator from getting the charge out of the shield
In general, Noor is often reliant on other operators to work with, cause he can’t shoot when his gadget is out, leaving him vulnerable. Work in tandem, and no attacker can survive you.
Breach Denial

Unsurprisingly, shortly after Noor was released, the players have discovered that he’s good not only for area denial, but also for breach interruption. Even if he’s been nerfed, he still can deny breaches if you have a camera observing the breaching spot. He’s also able to break other ops gadgets with his flames, so if Gridlock puts up her Trax, you can quickly break them by placing your charges on the wall closer to the ground. Here are some gadgets that Noor can destroy:
- Ram’s BU-GI
- Thermite’s charges
- Ace’s SELMA
- Fuze’s charges
- Deployed Osa’s shield
- Hibana’s Kairos
- Gridlock’s Trax
And many, many more. Basically, anything that can be placed and stay unprotected can be destroyed. Note that if Osa’s shield isn’t deployed, your Horus Lance charge will ricochet and stick to the closest area. I don’t think I have to explain how broken this is, as this makes an operator exceptionally varied in the way you play him, instead of a narrow specialist. Breaching hatches is almost impossible if you have Noor below it with all five charges.

Area Denial

As if all of the above wasn’t enough, you can use Noor for plant denial. Tactically placing a charge in the doorway will hold off the attacker for 10 seconds or put them in danger if they try to break the charge. The flames are also pretty thick and are hard to look through, which can make it harder for both sides to land their shots through them. Flames also destroy C4s.
What Horus Lance Can and Can’t Destroy

Here’s a quick table for reference to understand what the Horus Lance Launcher can and cannot break:
|
Target |
Interaction |
|
Ballistic shields |
Attaches and forces removal |
|
Soft surfaces |
Can penetrate and burn through both sides |
|
Reinforced walls |
Can pass through and create fire on the opposite side |
|
Deployable shields |
Attaches |
|
Osa shield, deployed |
Can attach/damage it |
|
Osa shield, held |
Ricochets off the shield |
|
Ram BU-GI |
Can destroy |
|
Thermite/Ace/breach utility |
Can deny/destroy |
|
Gridlock Trax |
Can destroy if placed nearby |
|
Iana hologram |
Doesn’t destroy |
|
Flores primed drone |
Can’t destroy |
|
Tubarão interaction |
His gadget freezes the device, but the fire still works after the gadget is destroyed. Most likely a bug |
|
Electricity |
Destroys the charge |
As funny as it sounds, the only counters to Noor are his teammates. The only way Noor can be countered is by just killing him.
Rainbow Six Siege Noor Tips
This section will cover your basic game plan you should try to stick to. They’re not rules and more of suggestions:
- Noor is best used as an anchor, holding down the site
- Noor’s at his best when he has a few operators next to him that can protect him when he’s using his launcher
- Play around choke points to maximize entry denial
- If you want to roam as Noor, take Commando 9. This strategy is not as strong as locking down the site, but it can be an option when you wanna stop attackers from entering the building you’re in
In the current version of the game, he plays like a mix between Goyo and Smoke. He has a lot of player freedom and lets you play the way you want without losing much of his potential. If I were to create a tier list, I’d call him an easy S-Tier operator.
Best Noor Synergies and Counters
Even though Noor is quite self-sufficient, his strength is in team play, so he works best with other operators around him. Below you’ll find a table with operators that synergize with Noor’s playstyle:
|
Operator |
Why the Combo Works |
|
Lesion |
His Gu mines deal damage to shielded ops while they try to get the Horus Lance charge out |
|
Echo |
Yokai stops removal animation and forces an attacker to take a ton of damage |
|
Oryx |
His dash interrupts the removal animation and leaves the shielded op wide open |
|
Clash |
CCE Shield + Horus Lance in the doorway turns the entry point into a dead end |
|
Thorn |
Razorbloom makes a shield player choose between falling back or removing the charge from the shield. Most often they’ll choose to fall back cause Razorbloom will kill them anyway if they try to remove a charge |
There are probably more combinations, but these are the ones I’ve discovered when playing and used them the most. Now, when it comes to Noor’s counters, it’s not that simple. He doesn’t really have direct counters on the attacker side. Some attackers can outsmart him, but with some risk to their lives. Here are a few handy pieces of advice that you can use to deal with annoying Noor on the opponent’s team:
- Short Flame Range: Horus Lance charge doesn’t cover large areas and can easily be avoided if not played right
- Using Gadget Limits Shooting: While the gadget is out, Noor can’t shoot, so you can bait them into switching to a gadget, missing the charge, and then shooting them in the face
- Explosives and Piercing Projectiles: These can destroy the charge, but only if they hit it, and to do it, you’ll usually end up in Noor’s line of sight
- Kali: Perhaps one of the few attackers that can deal with Noor’s charge safely
- Osa: If they hold a shield, Noor’s charge can’t penetrate it and will ricochet
- Maverick: Can’t be breach-denied, but still has to be careful to not get hurt by flames
Considering many strengths of Noor, especially how easy it is for him to deny breach, it’s very strange that he doesn’t have any counters. It’s as if he wasn’t playtested enough, but hey, that’s just a theory. A balancing theory. I’m not saying that you should abuse this operator for his strength, but it’s the best time to do that. That is, if you manage to lock him during the ban stage. Everyone in the community is aware of him being hugely broken.
F.A.Q
Is Noor good in Rainbow Six Siege?
Yes. Noor is an extremely strong Defender because the Horus Lance can counter shields, deny entry, interrupt hard breaches, destroy utility, and delay plants. His versatility means he can influence most rounds even when the attackers are not running shield operators.
What does Noor's gadget do in Rainbow Six Siege?
Noor uses the Horus Lance Launcher, which fires charges that attach to shields, surfaces, and various gadgets before releasing flames. He carries five charges, and each flame lasts around 10 seconds, giving him strong area-denial and time-wasting potential.
What is the best Noor loadout in R6 Siege?
I tend to gravitate towards ALDA for primary, paired with Bailiff for secondary, and Barbed Wire as a secondary gadget. If you wanna roam on Noor, take Commando 9, and the rest is the same.
Who are the best operators to pair with Noor in Rainbow Six Siege?
Lesion, Echo, Oryx, Clash, and Thorn all have strong synergy with Noor. Their gadgets can damage, slow, interrupt, or pressure attackers while they are trying to escape the Horus Lance or remove a charge from their shield.
How do you counter Noor in Siege?
Noor doesn’t have straightforward counters, but his Horus Lance has limited flame range and leaves him unable to shoot while the launcher is equipped. Attackers can bait out charges, use explosives or piercing projectiles against them, or exploit operators such as Kali, Osa, and Maverick in certain situations.
How do you play Noor in R6 Siege?
Anchoring the site with at least one other attacker is the best way to play Noor. You get maximum value from him by controlling choke points and denying breaches. Roaming is okay, but there are better operators for it.
