Nullaeus Nemesis Boss Tiers
Just like previous seasonal Nemesis in Delves, Nullaeus has two separate difficulty tiers:
- Tier ? – This is the starting point and your first clear tier for Nullaeus
- Tier ?? – Nullaeus becomes much stronger and features new mechanics
The progression to each of these tiers works in the same way as before. You need to reach a specific tier in Delves first. Only then, you’ll get access to the Nullaeus Delve fight. But the good part is that you don’t have to complete one particular Delve, and instead, you’re free to choose which one you want to go to.
Where is Nullaeus in WoW

You’re looking for Torment’s Rise, and this is where you’ll find the entrance to Nullaeus Delve in Midnight Season 1. It’s located in Voidstorm with the exact coordinates as follows: /way #2405 61.17 71.37
The location sits between Nexus-Point Xenas and Obscurion Citadel, and can be reached physically by just flying over there. You won’t have to complete any quests or meet any extra requirements to enter the boss’s site.
How to Unlock Nullaeus Delve
Nullaeus is locked behind Delve tier progress, and you unlock his Torment’s Rise fight in two steps, depending on which difficulty you’re going for. The game just needs to make sure that you can complete the Delve you like and have at least 1 life remaining. This is how to unlock Nullaeus in Midnight Season 1:
- Tier ? Unlock: Clear any Tier 7 Delve in Midnight Season 1 with one or more lives remaining at the end
- Tier ?? Unlock: Clear any Tier 10 Delve in Midnight Season 1 with one or more lives remaining at the end
Apart from the “lives remaining” part, you need to complete Tier 7 and Tier 10 levels, and that can be quite difficult for most average players. I personally don’t have that many friends who can do that, especially if we’re talking about these 12 new Delves added in Midnight Season 1. You’ll have to play very carefully and avoid taking ego pulls. Reaching the finishing line with 0 lives remaining but alive means you don’t hit the requirements for Nullaeus.
Fast Gear Route Before Fighting Nullaeus
Yeah, I see what you’re thinking about. You’ll have to work hard to defeat Nullaeus on the Season 1 release week. I’ve prepared a table with the quick tips on the fast gearing route before you fight the Nemesis boss of the season.
|
Step |
What to Do |
Description |
|
1 |
Do your quickest weekly event and turn in the Apex Cache quest |
You can walk away with up to two Veteran pieces and a chunk of shards fast |
|
2 |
Run 2 Hard Prey hunts |
More Veteran-level rewards, plus extra shards while you’re already outdoors |
|
3 |
Run 2 Nightmare Prey hunts once available that week |
This is your early Champion gear injection, also gives shards |
|
4 |
If you’re short on shards, grab them from rares and the dark orbs while flying |
Quick “top-off” farming to hit your shard target without wasting time |
|
5 |
Convert shards into Restored Coffer Keys at 100 shards per key |
Keys are what actually unlock the big Bountiful Delve loot |
|
6 |
Clear 4 Tier 8 Bountiful Delves and open all 4 chests |
Four Champion pieces, plus solid Valeera XP while prepping |
|
7 |
Craft your weapon with Sparks via crafting orders |
Huge upgrade before the boss; max-rank crafts may cost more early season |
This will help you complete your Nullaeus Delve walkthrough during the first week, but hitting the Fabled Let Me Solo Him: Nullaeus is still unlikely.
Valeera Setup for Nullaeus

Apart from gearing, I would also advise maxing out Valeera and choosing the right role for her. The recipe for happiness here is simple: make her Healer in most cases, because this is what will save your life. This is especially important when you’re only making your way to completing Tier 7 and Tier 10 Delves to unlock Nullaeus.
Note: Once you get comfortable with the boss’s mechanics, you can try to switch Valeera to DPS. This might help you finish him faster, but you’ll have to dodge all the stuff he’s throwing at you.
I would say that these Valeera curious for Nullaeus would be the best pick:
- Mantle of Stars for your Combat Curio: This will save you from getting nuked and cut through mobs faster with the damage increase effect around you. I honestly think it’s the best choice not only for complete beginners in Delves, but in general. It’s too good and lets you survive the most horrible mistakes you can make throughout the run.
- Overflowing Voidspire for your Utility Curio: I can’t imagine a scenario where the Nemesis boss fight ends that fast you won’t need this curio. It takes only 25 seconds to activate its effect, and it can proc multiple times over a long combat window. The biggest bonus here is that it affects not only your damage but Valeera’s healing, too.
You can also try to go for Porcelain Blade Tip if you’re playing a crit-hungry spec like Havoc Demon Hunter or Fire Mage, but that’s more situational. I’ve tried it, and I like Mantle of Stars more for how safe it is.
My final advice in this part of the Nullaeus Delve guide is to farm higher-level curios if you can. Curios were capped earlier, but once higher power levels open up, simply having a better rarity or higher level version makes the same setup hit way harder.

Nullaeus Nemesis Boss Strategy
This part of the guide is in development, and I’ll return with the best Nullaeus strategy to take him down once I finish experimenting.
How to Get Fabled Let Me Solo Him Achievement
Only the first 4,000 players in your region will get Fabled Let Me Solo Him: Nullaeus after defeating him. To test your skill and a bit of luck, you need to know the exact unlock timing to start working on the boss fight when it opens:
- NA gets Nullaeus when Season 1 opens on March 17
- EU players will get it on March 18
The biggest challenge here is that you need to beat Nullaeus on Tier ?? completely solo. No other players in your party are allowed. That’s why you want to be geared up properly and get straight into his lair. I advise you to have gear of 255 ilvl for Tier ? and even higher level for Tier ??, but no exact requirements here on that.
Nullaeus Rewards and Achievements
You can grab a variety of loot by defeating Nullaeus, as well as unique rewards and achievements to prove your skill in future WoW expansions and seasons. Yeah, the Fabled version of the Let Me Solo Him achievements is a clear example of that. I’ve gathered a full list of earnable rewards from Nullaeus Nemesis boss for you:
|
Reward Type |
Name |
How You Get It |
|
Toy |
Complete the seasonal quest Nulling Nullaeus |
|
|
Cosmetic Helm |
Claim the My Shady Nemesis achievement by defeating Nullaeus in his lair during Season 1 |
|
|
Mount |
Earn Let Me Solo Him: Nullaeus by defeating Nullaeus on Tier ?? solo during Season 1 |
|
|
Title |
Ominous |
Get the Lighting the Dark achievement by defeating Nullaeus on Tier ?? during Season 1 |
|
Title |
Fabled Vanquisher of Nullaeus |
Earn Fabled Let Me Solo Him: Nullaeus by being one of the first 4,000 players in your region to defeat Tier ?? solo during Season 1 |
The list is quite similar to other seasonal Nemesis bosses like Nexus-Princess Ky'veza, for instance. I personally like the Arcanovoid Construct mount here, as well as Nullaeus Domaneye cosmetic helm. But most players would give anything for the Fabled Let Me Solo Him: Nullaeus achievement.
