All Fortnitemares 2026 Details

Fortnitemares 2026 is Fortnite’s annual Halloween event. It comes out during Chapter 7 Season 4: Override and doesn’t change much of its core. This year’s theme is “The Game Is Cursed,” which ties directly into the season’s existing mechanics instead of creating a completely separate Halloween ruleset. The game is changing parts of the island, adding horror crossovers, and introducing new Sprites. Five Nights at Freddy’s is the highlight collab of this patch, but the event has enough other collaborations, including classics like Nightmare on Elm Street and new big-hitters like Obsession. Below is the list of all collaborations for Fortnitemares 2026:

• A Nightmare on Elm Street
• Slender Man
• Beetlejuice
• The Purge
• Black Clover (?)
• Obsession

Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy are not just appearing as skins, as the crossover also includes Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria and gameplay involving the animatronics. For now, it’s impossible to say if other collaborations will receive as much attention as this indie horror legend.

Fortnitemares 2026 Start and End Date

Fortnitemares 2026 starts on October 1, 2026, alongside Fortnite update v42.30. Developers first teased the event with the “Nitemares really do come true” campaign before revealing the collaboration lineup. The update takes over from the Fortnite Birthday content and starts the Halloween portion of Chapter 7 Season 4. There’s no info on when the event ends, although the current Override season itself is scheduled to end on November 1, so there’s a good chance that it’ll end then, considering how it’s tied to Halloween.

All Fortnitemares 2026 Map Changes

Fortnitemares is changing several key areas instead of just adding Halloween decorations scattered around existing POIs. The biggest changes are concentrated around Battlewood and the nearby Arcade Landmark, creating one large Halloween section of the island. Gravegate, Elm Street, and Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria are all tied into that area and give the major horror collabs actual places on the map. So far, these are the biggest confirmed map changes I know of:

• Battlewood becomes Gravegate
• Elm Street as part of the Freddy Krueger crossover
• The Arcade Landmark becomes Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria

As for the Purge, Slender Man, and Obsession, it’s hard to say if we get any themed POIs. Considering that these franchises aren’t associated with one specific place, it’s most likely that we’ll just get skins. Unless Bear’s home from Obsession can be considered a POI.

Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria, Gravegate, and Elm Street

Battlewood becomes Gravegate during Fortnitemares, replacing its normal appearance with graveyards, jack-o’-lanterns, and the corrupted Override cables seen throughout the season. Elm Street is also connected to the same section of the island. I consider Gravegate and Elm Street to be one large Fortnitemares area rather than two completely separate POIs.

The Arcade Landmark north of Gravegate becomes Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria for the Five Nights at Freddy’s crossover. This is much more than a restaurant facade with FNAF decorations, as the reveal footage shows the animatronics being used as part of the gameplay around the location. In it, the players are shown taking control of or transforming into an animatronic. This alone will make the pizzeria one of the busiest places on the map during the first few days of the event. It’s unknown what the rules are behind animatronic transformations, but I think it’ll be something akin to a Star Wars collab. Developers have clearly made the location part of the crossover gameplay rather than just another landmark.

Fortnite x Five Nights at Freddy's

Five Nights at Freddy’s is finally in Fortnite, and Epic went much further than adding Freddy Fazbear to the Item Shop. The crossover brings four of the original animatronics, Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria, and gameplay where you use the characters themselves. This is definitely the part of the event that will get the most attention at launch. The four confirmed animatronics are:

• Freddy Fazbear
• Bonnie
• Chica
• Foxy

For now, I don’t know if they have various abilities, but there’s a good chance to think that they do. The reveal also shows more worn-down versions of the animatronics and gameplay where players appear to become or control one of them, so they’re clearly not NPCs that you’ll interact with.

All Fortnitemares 2026 Collabs

Fortnitemares always has a big amount of crossover speculation, but I’m sticking to characters and franchises that developers have shown or confirmed for Chapter 7 Season 4. This list can be incomplete, as Fortnite devs can still leave some space for secret collabs or collabs that will be added during the event.

The Obsession reveal could’ve been the one you’ve missed. One Wish Willow appears at the end of the Fortnitemares cinematic, connecting the 2026 horror movie directly to Fortnite’s Halloween rollout. There are more names floating around in leaks, including Predator, Chucky, Hello Neighbor, and others, but these can be just rumors, or these collabs might be dropped in the final version of the event. I’m leaving them out until they’re present or confirmed in the game.

 

 

Fortnitemares 2026 Weapons, Items, Bosses, and Mythics

The Fortnitemares loot pool is one of the few major parts of the event that was not fully shown before v42.30. Older Halloween weapons such as Pumpkin Launcher, Witch Broom, Wood Stake Shotgun, Fiend Hunter Crossbow, and Sideways Scythe have a chance to return, but that does not mean all of them will be available this year. Maybe the developers will decide to drop them altogether to make the season more focused on new additions. The Fortnitemares event gameplay that has been confirmed includes:

• FNAF animatronics
• All new Pumpkin and Vampire Sprites
• Gravegate and Elm Street POIs

Bosses are in a similar position as the weapons. There’s a high chance that Freddy Krueger will be a boss of Elm Street. Perhaps the same can be said about Beetlejuice. Unfortunately, there’s no concrete info on event bosses. This time, the new Sprites and crossover locations look like a much bigger part of the event.

New Fortnitemares Sprites and Overrides

Sprites are one of the more welcomed additions in Chapter 7. They continue to be a big thing during Fortnitemares instead of being dropped or changed for something else. Epic has revealed the Pumpkin Sprite and Vampire Sprite, both of which fit directly into the Sprite collection already used throughout Chapter 7 Season 4. Their final gameplay effects have not been officially detailed ahead of the update, although datamined information points toward defensive and siphoning abilities. Fortnitemares also expands the season’s Override mechanic. Promotional footage shows a new creepy-looking Override effect, but there’s no properly explained information on what modifier it applies to.
