What’s New in Fortnite: GALACTIC BATTLE
The Fortnite Star Wars event 2025 has transformed the Island into a full-blown war zone between the forces of the Empire and the Resistance. From lightsabers to starfighters, every corner of Fortnite now channels a galaxy far, far away. Here's everything new you can wield, fly, or fight with.
Weapons & Gadgets
Blasters replace traditional weapons during the event, bringing a sci-fi arsenal to the battlefield. Watch out for overheating — these Fortnite Star Wars weapons don’t reload, but they will stall if you go full auto for too long. BLOG20
Available blasters include:
- DL-44 Blaster Pistol – Reliable close-range sidearm
- CR-2 Blaster – SMG-style rapid blaster
- ACP Scatter Blaster – Close-quarters punch
- BARM-ST12 Scatter Blaster – Wide-spread power
- DLT-19 Blaster Rifle – Heavy-hitting with solid range
- IQA-11 Marksman Blaster Rifle – Long-range precision
- A280-CFE Blaster Rifle – General-purpose blaster
- DC-15 Heavy Blaster (unvaulted) – High damage, high accuracy
- E-11 Blaster (unvaulted) – Empire’s standard issue
- F-11 Blaster (unvaulted) – First Order’s standard issue
- Thermal Imploder – Powerful explosive gadget that causes a vacuum before detonation
The infinite ammo and overheating mechanic might take time getting used to, so practice whenever you can!
Lightsabers & Force Abilities
Lightsabers are back — and they’re more than just melee weapons. While wielding a lightsaber, players gain enhanced mobility: faster sprinting, double jumping, and immunity to fall damage. But to unlock Force Abilities, players must complete a short training session with one of several hologram mentors.
Force Ability Training:
Trainer | Saber Colo | Force Ability | Availability |
Rey | Blue | Force Push | May 2 |
Palpatine | Red | Force Lightning | May 2 |
Mace Windu | Purple | Force Pull | May 8 |
Darth Maul | Red | Force Throw | May 8 |
Darth Vader Samurai | Red Variant | Force Saber Throw | Boss Defeat |
These powers are tied to your character, not your weapon. That means picking up someone else’s saber won’t grant their power — you'll need to earn it yourself.
Flying Vehicles
Aerial combat has returned with two iconic Star Wars ships, letting players battle it out in the skies or travel across the Island in style.
- X-wing: Found near Resistance locations and crash sites.
- TIE Fighter: Equipped with rapid twin blasters and built for high-speed chases. Usually docked near First Order facilities.
Both ships can be flown solo and are ideal for fast rotations or air superiority during mid-game battles. Also, some side-alignment quests will have you travel in these for a required distance. The spawns are random across numerous blockposts, so you must get lucky to spot one when you're landing.
With a full arsenal, new movement mechanics, and vehicles from the Star Wars universe, GALACTIC BATTLE delivers one of Fortnite’s most immersive gameplay shifts yet.
New Locations
The Star Wars conflict has landed directly on the Island, bringing with it newly constructed strongholds, hidden rebel outposts, and battle-ready terrain. These updated points of interest (POIs) add strategic depth and atmosphere to every match, whether you're sneaking through a Resistance base or storming an Imperial facility.
Below is a breakdown of the key new or altered locations featured in Fortnite: GALACTIC BATTLE.
- First Order Base – A fortified mountaintop installation complete with a massive hangar for damaged TIE Fighters. The structure has five entrances, but its utility shaft is the weakest point — ideal for infiltration or surprise attacks.
- Outpost Enclave – This smuggler’s hub is loud, chaotic, and dangerous. Tensions are high and loot is plentiful. Don't forget to explore the parked sandcrawler, which may contain hidden resources or secrets.
- Resistance Base – Buried beneath dense foliage, this underground command center is shielded from aerial detection. Inside, you’ll find X-wings, medical supplies, and gear to help even the odds against the First Order.
- Vader Samurai’s Solitude – Shogun’s Solitude has fallen to Darth Vader Samurai, who now resides there with his stormtrooper samurai guards. If you can clear the fortress, you may face Vader himself — and claim his red lightsaber variant along with the unique Force Saber Throw ability.
These locations not only serve as new loot zones and combat arenas, but also push forward the event’s core narrative of galactic war. Expect heavy resistance, story-driven encounters, and high-stakes gameplay at each site.
Galactic Battle Quests: Choose Your Side
The GALACTIC BATTLE event introduces a new layer of progression through Alignment Quests, where players decide whether to Embrace the Light or Turn to the Dark. These quests impact your personal alignment and contribute to the overall community effort, unlocking exclusive XP rewards and influencing the event’s narrative.
You’ll find Alignment Quests in the “Alignment” tab of the Battle Royale quest menu. Both paths include 20 stages for personal progression and 4 stages for community alignment, updated weekly. At the start of the event, only a few objectives are visible, while others will become accessible as you advance or as weekly resets occur.
Some Light Side Quests Include:
- Gain shields after landing at the Resistance Base or Rebel Outposts
- Travel distance in an X-wing
Some Dark Side Quests Include:
- Thank the Bus Driver and land at the First Order Base or Vader Samurai’s Solitude
- Travel distance at the First Order Base or Vader Samurai’s Solitude
Each quest grants 3,000 XP, and completing alignment stages provides larger XP drops — up to 10,000 XP per stage for personal alignment milestones.
Although only a few quests are currently available, more are expected to roll out throughout the season. Community stages unlock each week, so check back often to contribute to your side’s influence.
Galactic Rewards and the Star Wars Battle Pass
The GALACTIC BATTLE event doesn’t just reshape the Island — it also introduces a deep reward system full of iconic characters, cosmetics, and exclusive unlockables. Whether you’re going the free route or picking up the Battle Pass, there’s a galaxy’s worth of content to earn across the event window.
Free vs. Premium Rewards
All players can earn Fortnite Star Wars event rewards simply by gaining XP in any Fortnite mode during the event. However, to unlock the full range of cosmetics, you'll need the Star Wars Battle Pass, available for 1,000 V-Bucks or through Fortnite Crew (which also grants access to all other passes, including OG, Music, and LEGO®).
Free Rewards include:
- Basic cosmetics
- Loading screens
- XP boosts
- Event-themed accessories
Premium Rewards include:
- Exclusive Outfits
- Force-themed gear
- Emotes and weapon wraps
- Themed Back Blings and Pickaxes
- Skins Included in the Battle Pass BLOG20
Purchasing the Star Wars Battle Pass unlocks some of the most recognizable (and surprising) characters from across the franchise.
Skins in the Battle Pass:
- Jedi Evie – A Force-sensitive vigilante (immediate unlock)
- Poe Dameron – The Resistance’s elite pilot
- Wookiee Team Leader – A roaring tribute to Chewbacca
- Emperor Palpatine – The Sith mastermind himself
- General Grievous – Unlockable later in the season via challenges
Other rotating or shop-based characters include: Leia, Luke, Han, Mace Windu, Darth Maul, and a customizable Mandalorian. Darth Jar Jar has also been teased for the Item Shop.
Medallions: Risk vs. Reward
Defeating bosses like Captain Phasma earns Mythic weapons and Medallions. These powerful items provide gameplay bonuses — but come with a cost.
Captain Phasma’s Blaster Medallion:
- Reduces blaster overheating
- Speeds up cooldown times
- Makes you visible on opponents’ mini-maps
The more Medallions you carry, the more accurate your location becomes
Choosing to equip a Medallion means trading stealth for strength — a gamble that could pay off or expose you to ambush.
Galactic Battle Twitch Drops
From May 2 at 9 AM ET to May 5 at 9 AM ET, players can earn additional cosmetic items just by watching Fortnite streams on Twitch.
How to Claim:
- Watch any Fortnite stream with Drops Enabled
- Make sure your Epic and Twitch accounts are linked

Twitch Drop Rewards:
Watch Time | Reward |
15 minutes | Galactic Duel Loading Screen |
45 minutes total | Anakin’s Model Jedi Interceptor Back Bling |
Note: These items are not exclusive to Twitch Drops and may appear in the Item Shop later.
From free unlocks to high-tier skins, GALACTIC BATTLE offers a reward system that lets every player walk away with something — but those willing to go premium will earn the most legendary loot.
Conclusion
Fortnite: GALACTIC BATTLE is more than a Star Wars crossover — it’s a full-scale, multi-week experience that blends cinematic storytelling, high-stakes gameplay, and fan-favorite characters into one of Fortnite’s most ambitious events to date.
With new weapons, locations, Force powers, vehicles, and unlockable rewards arriving every week through June 7, this is a limited-time event packed with variety and progression. Whether you're teaming up with the Resistance or embracing the power of the dark side, there’s never been a better time to drop in, suit up, and claim your place in the galaxy.
