To access the competitive side of Dota 2, you must first unlock its ranked matchmaking feature. This will be initially locked when you create a new account, so you'll need to complete the tutorial first.

Once done, you'll need to accumulate 100 hours of gameplay in Dota 2 to qualify for ranked matches. While any game mode counts towards this goal, it's best to focus on playing Unranked matches as the system can better determine your MMR bracket from these games.
