Ogri’la Reputation Guide Quick Summary:

  • Ogri’la is a daily quest faction added in TBC Anniversary Phase 2.
  • The intro chain starts in Shattrath and sends you to Mog’dorg the Wizened.
  • Real reputation progress starts through daily quests in Phase 2.
  • Ogri’la reputation takes around a month to reach Exalted. Some quests also grant Sha’tari Skyguard reputation, so you can do quests of both factions to speed up the progression.
  • Honored unlocks Banish More Demons daily, which rewards Darkrune, which in turn can be used to farm reputation with Shartuul’s Transporter event.
  • Rewards are mostly catch-up gear, consumables, tabards, and Apexis items.

Ogri’la Faction Explained

Ogri’la are smart(er) ogres who dwell in Blade’s Edge Mountains. In lore, they are like this because of their exposure to Apexis Crystals, which are also a currency that you will need to trade with them. They are a faction that requires you to do daily quests to gain rep with them, which means that you will not be able to speedrun their faction progression. Unlike dungeon factions that make you farm mobs or spam dungeons, the progression here is more straightforward, albeit time-consuming.

How to Unlock Ogri’la

The only prerequisites to start your initiation questline with Ogri’la are flying and being level 70. You will not be able to access their faction hub in Blade’s Edge Mountains without it. If you’re a warlock, you can be summoned there by a friend or guildmate who already has a flying mount, but you’ll need to travel there over and over again, and it can be quite a bother for you and your mate to do this every time, not to mention you still need level 70.

To start the faction’s questline, you need to talk to V’eru (/way 57 48) in Shattrath City. This intro quest chain will send you to Mor’dorg the Wizened, who will then ask you to complete five group quests, and as a result, you’ll reach Neutral reputation with Ogri’la. Here’s a full list of starter quests to unlock Ogri’la in TBC Anniversary Phase 2:

Quest

Task

Speak with the Ogre

Speak with the Ogre, Grok, in the Lower City section of Shattrath City.

Mog’dorg the Wizened

Visit Mog’dorg the Wizened atop one of the towers just outside the Circle of Blood in the Blade’s Edge Mountains (/way 55 45)

Group Quest: Grulloc Has Two Skulls

Retrieve Grulloc's Dragon Skull and deliver it to Mog'dorg the Wizened atop the tower at the Circle of Blood in the Blade's Edge Mountains.

Group Quest: Maggoc’s Treasure Chest

Retrieve Maggoc's Treasure Chest and deliver it to Mog'dorg the Wizened atop the tower at the Circle of Blood in the Blade's Edge Mountains.

Group Quest: Even Gronn Have Standards

Retrieve Slaag's Standard and deliver it to Mog'dorg the Wizened atop the tower at the Circle of Blood in the Blade's Edge Mountains.

Group Quest: Grim(oire) Business

You must retrieve Vim'gol's Vile Grimoire. Deliver it to Mog'dorg the Wizened atop the tower at the Circle of Blood in the Blade's Edge Mountains.

Group Quest: Into the Soulgrinder

Retrieve Skulloc's Soul and deliver it to Mog'dorg the Wizened atop the tower at the Circle of Blood in the Blade's Edge Mountains.

Speak with Mog’dorg

Speak with Mog'dorg the Wizened. He stands atop the tower on the east side of the Circle of Blood in the Blade's Edge Mountains. (/way 55 45)

Important note: these quests aren’t tied to the faction’s normal progression and can be done in a single session, assuming you have the group for that, which shouldn’t be a problem. Now that you’re done with the introductory questline, you can access the main questline that will unlock daily quests for you.

How to Go from Neutral to Exalted with Ogri’la in TBC Anniversary

Nothing changes much once you reach a Neutral rep with Ogri’la. Though you can complete the initial Ogri’la questline even now, you can only start progressing the reputation once Phase 2 starts. The average time to go from Neutral to Exalted takes around a month, but if you’re lucky with Darkrune drops, this might take you less. Here are all Ogri’la quests to go from Neutral to Friendly:

Group Quest: To Rule The Skies

Sky Commander Keller has asked you to acquire Dragon Teeth and return them to him at the Skyguard Outpost atop the Blade's Edge Mountains.

+500 Sha’Tari Skyguard Rep

As you can see, completing certain quests also grants Sha’Tari Skyguard reputation, which is another new faction available in Phase 2. Completing certain quests unlocks their daily version, specifically:

  • The Relic’s Emanation: Unlocked by An Apexis Relic. Rewards +350 Ogri’la Rep.
  • Bomb Them Again!: Unlocked by Bombing Run. Rewards +500 Ogri’la & Sha’tari Skyguard Rep.
  • Wrangle More Aether Rays!: Unlocked by Wrangle Some Aether Rays!. Rewards +350 Ogri’la & Sha’tari Skyguard Rep.

These will be the main quests to unlock new reputation stages with Ogri’la. Once you reach Friendly reputation, you’ll unlock a new quest titled “A Special Thank You”, which will give you 10 Rep with Ogri’la and Ogri’la Care Package, which contains the following items:

Eventually, you’ll reach Honored reputation. After that, Kronk will give you the “Banish the Demons” quest, which will reward you with +350 Ogri’la & Sha’tari Skyguard Rep, and a Darkrune. Doing this quest unlocks a new daily, Banish More Demons, which gives +350 Ogri’la Rep and Kronk’s Grab Bag, which contains Apexis Shards, the Darkrune Fragment, or the complete Darkrune. After getting this daily, you gain a new way to farm reputation with the Ogri’la: Shartuul’s Transporter, aka Legion Ring event.

How to Complete the Shartuul’s Transporter Event

To fully explain all the intricacies of the Shartuul’s Transporter would require a separate article. That’s why I’ll only briefly explain how to complete the Shartuul’s Transporter:

  1. Complete the Banish More Demons daily to receive Kronk’s Grab Bag. Open it and check for Darkrune or Darkrune Fragment.
  2. Five Darkrune Fragments are required to turn them into one Darkrune. Once you have Darkrune, you want to go and turn it into the Crystalforged Darkrune with Gahk’s help.
  3. Once you have the modified rune, go South of Forge Camp: Wrath in Blade’s Edge Mountains.
  4. Interact with Felguard Degrader and start the event.
  5. During the Legion Ring event, you need to control three demons along multiple phases. What you need to do is keep your demons alive while dealing with bosses that spawn here.

Completing this event grants a whopping +750 Ogri’la reputation and a chance to receive a depleted item. Be careful and do not open Kronk’s Bag if you already have a Darkrune in your inventory, as they’re unique. If you didn’t use your previous Darkrune, go and activate it at Gahk, do the event, and only then open the daily bag. If you find the Legion Ring event hard, which it is, try this Shartuul’s Transporter guide from Wowpedia.

Ogri’la Reputation Rewards in TBC Anniversary Phase 2

You might be wondering why you even do all the daily quests for a month. Well, the payoff is somewhat mediocre. Ogri’la’s gear rewards aren’t BiS or even BiS alternatives, so they are only ever good if you’re catching up to the actual content and can’t do raids yet. To get the gear and items, find Jho’nass (/way 28 59). She sells the rewards for Apexis Shards and Apexis Crystals, which are a local currency. Apexis Shards can be found all over the place and don’t require purposeful grinding to get them. Apexis Crystals are rarer and can be dropped by Elites in Blade’s Edge Mountains. Here are the Ogri’la reputation rewards in TBC Anniversary Phase 2:

Apart from what you can purchase, there’s also gear you can pick up from Elite mobs around the Blade’s Edge Mountains area. This gear is called Depleted. Combining it with Apexis Shards x50, it can be turned into a piece of gear. Most of this gear isn’t that interesting and is BoE, which means you can simply buy it from Auction and save your time. But FYI, I’ll list the depleted armor here:

Depleted Gear

Turns Into

Depleted Badge

Badge of Tenacity

Depleted Cloak

Crystalweave Cape

Depleted Cloth Bracers

There are only two Epics in this list, the Bracers and the Handwraps, but they can be fine placeholders til you get some decent gear. Badge of Tenacity is actually the best pre-raid Trinket for Feral Druids.

F.A.Q

How do you unlock Ogri’la in TBC Anniversary?

Talk to V’eru in Shattrath, then complete Mog’dorg’s group quests in Blade’s Edge Mountains. After that, Ogri’la dailies become available. To reach Blade’s Edge, you need to learn flying and be level 70.

How long does reaching Exalted with Ogri’la take in TBC Anniversary?

Going from Neutral to Exalted will take you around a month. Less so if you’re lucky enough to get Darkrune drops reliably.

Is Ogri’la reputation in TBC Anniversary worth farming?

It depends on your goals. Are you trying to get BiS gear? Don’t waste your time on them. Are you catching up with the content or a completionist? You should do it. Their rewards aren’t bad, but aren’t good either.

How can I reach Exalted with Ogri’la faster in TBC Anniversary?

Unfortunately, the rep gains with Ogri’la are only progressing with dailies. Always do them, then transform your Darkrune from Gahk and do the Shartuul’s Transporter, aka Legion Ring event, when possible, as it rewards you with +750 faction rep.
