The new Fortnite season should be released on June 5, 2026. But don’t treat this as the exact playable time because season launches usually involve downtime, a big update download, server queues, and so on. Even a short delay from the developers might happen.

Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 ends on June 5, 2026. That is the date currently shown by Fortnite season countdown sources. And it perfectly coincides with the expected release date of the next season.

You’ve got enough time to work through the Battle Pass, bonus rewards, quests, or ranked goals. After June 5, everything resets, and you’ll have to start working on these again. The current season’s content should rotate out, and anything tied directly to Chapter 7 Season 2 may no longer be available. I’m talking about Rival Credits and Team faction milestone rewards specifically.

The exact release time for Chapter 7 Season 3 isn’t known for sure yet. My advice here is not to plan your whole day around one precise hour. And remember that this update, just like any other, can go wrong, and the servers will be down longer than expected. What Happens When a New Fortnite Season Starts?

The content released depends on the seasonal theme, but certain things always change. I’m talking about stuff like the seasonal Battle Pass, a pool of rewards, map updates, new quests, and so much more. The developers prepare a ton of content to explore for the next 70-90 days you’ll have for the season. These are the things that will be changed when a new Fortnite season starts:

1. A new Battle Pass will be available
2. Old seasonal quests and rewards will be replaced with the new ones
3. Possible map changes (new POIs, areas, and more)
4. Loot pool might change with new weapons being added and certain old ones removed from the game
5. Ranked progress resets
6. You’ll work on new story quests, weekly quests, and events
7. Fresh cosmetics, collabs, and skins might be added

I’m sure you might not have enough time to finish the current Battle Pass or work on the next one to get all the rewards. In this case, you can Get Battle Pass Leveling to reach the final level.

 

What to Do Before the Current Fortnite Season Ends

You want to finish any content that you can’t carry into Chapter 7 Season 3 when it releases. This is the current Battle Pass, as it’s the top priority in terms of rewards. I’m personally interested in pages that grant skins, V-Bucks, and other rare stuff.

Don’t leave other seasonal content for the final day. I’m talking about limited-time quests, as well as story quests. The same goes for ranked rewards, especially if you’re not that far from reaching the rank you want. And don’t forget to save enough V-Bucks if you plan to buy the next Battle Pass to work on throughout the season. Even though completing the entire Battle Pass of the current season doesn’t add anything extra to your balance, it at least returns what it has cost.

What Could Be Added in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3?

Since Chapter 7 Season 3 releases at the start of the summer, I expect a summer or tropical theme coming with it. Though this hasn’t been officially confirmed yet. But if that’s true, you can also expect summer events and themed collaborations. Certain map updates with new POIs might also take place.
