All Ground WARDOGS Vehicles

Wardogs has 13 types of ground vehicles, all serving their own purpose. Most of them are there to quickly travel to the Hotzone, while others serve as mobile spawn points, and some are outright war bastions that will hold enemies from advancing on your soil. There are even variations of the same car for different purposes. In the table below, you’ll find detailed descriptions of all ground WARDOGS vehicles:

Kodiak (Pickup)	1 driver + 5 passengers; 154 km/h, 50L, 2.9 l/km	More spacious than the normal Kodiak, also has space for logistics crates
Kodiak (M249)	1 driver + 4 passengers; 154 km/h, 50L, 2.9 l/km	Has an M249 installed for extra protection from infantry and light vehicles. Also has room for logistics crates

SPH-2	3 crew members; 65 km/h, 105L, 8 l/km	Artillery vehicle; has a 155 mm cannon and a 5.56 M249 machine gun installed
L2A6	3 crew members; 65 km/h, 110L, 8 l/km, smoke as a counter measure	Full on tank; has everything SPH-2 has, plus MG3A1 .308 coaxial gun installed

If you really like shooting from the M249, just know it’s one of the best weapons in WARDOGS, so I suggest looking into it. Most ground vehicles can carry logistic supplies, so don’t simply ride around the battlefield. Act as a resupply car while you deliver people to the heat of the battle. Trust me, your builders will appreciate it, and in the long run it will win you a game.

All Air WARDOGS Vehicles

There aren’t as many air vehicles available in WARDOGS. Only 6 helicopters, with 5 of them being variations of the same 2 helis. No jets are available if you were expecting any. Unlike land transport, air usually has some form of firepower and can protect itself from other flying and ground threats. Take a gander at all air WARDOGS vehicles:

Z20 Lakota	2 crew + 11 passengers; 445 km/h, 120L, 4.4 l/km, flares as a counter measure	A significant upgrade over a Little Bird. Has room for a ton of passengers, plus has room for logistics crates. Perfect transport air vehicle
Z20 Lakota (Miniguns)	4 crew + 9 passengers; 445 km/h, 120L, 4.4 l/km, flares as a counter measure	Same as above, but now has two miniguns installed on its sides for protection. Isn’t very good for killing enemies and destroying other vehicles unless hovering, but that’s usually a sure way to die
AH-6R	2 crew members; 350 km/h, 105L, 4.4 l/km, flares as a counter measure	MH-6 equipped with two rocket pods. A significant boost in firepower and can even destroy armored vehicles. Perfect for nimble pilots to wreak havoc in the backlines
HAVOC	2 crew members; 400 km/h, 130L, 4.4 l/km, flares as a counter measure	Best helicopter for a total assault. Pilot shoots rockets, while another crew member is a gunner. No room for crates.

The only delivery helicopter is the Z20 Lakota. The rest of them are mainly for combat. Helicopters are quite expensive, so losing one is extra scary, especially if you’re still learning controls. I recommend practicing at the firing range, as you don’t have to pay anything there, plus you don’t die if you crash and can quickly respawn.

 

 

How to Control Vehicles in WARDOGS

WARDOGS has a pretty basic control scheme for all kinds of vehicles. If you ever played any racing games, you already know how to control them. Helicopters are easy as well. It’s not Battlefield, where high-level trickery requires hours of practice, though if you want to, you can do some crazy tricks on rotary vehicles. We’ll get to that later. For now, let me show you key bindings for land transport:

• Gear Shift R: R
• Cycle Weapons: Z
• Cycle Fire Mode: B
• Toggle Free Look: ALT
• Toggle Camera Mode: C

The Gear Shift R keybind is necessary only when controlling tanks, in case you want to back up while still facing the enemy. The rest of it is pretty simple. Anyone can control vehicles, and you can start gaining your Driver XP as soon as you start the game, but I still recommend leveling up other classes first. Now onto the air transport, where things get a bit more interesting and configurable:

Don’t make my mistake and decide to turn with cyclic. The helicopter starts losing altitude very fast. Use yaw to turn and always adjust your rotor to stay in the controlled position. One piece of advice I can give you to understand piloting a helicopter is that you have to imagine that the bottom of the rotor directs where you are heading. When it’s just above you, it lifts you up. If it's skewed forward, you’re going forward. If it’s skewed sideways, you’re either “braking” or going faster in that direction. Of course, if you don’t like simplified helicopter controls, you can turn off all helicopter flight assists under Controls > Settings, at the bottom of the page. This gives you more control and lets you make fine adjustments to your flight, but is significantly harder to control. If you come from Battlefield, you can try to turn on Rotary Vehicle mouse control. While we talk about settings, I highly recommend tinkering with them before you play for your convenience. Anyway, let’s take a look at general transport controls:

Locking the vehicle lets only you control it, so that nobody can steal your fairly purchased transport and crash it - no matter if you know how to get tons of cash or not. Countermeasure stops enemies’ heat-seeking missiles for air vehicles and obstructs vision on ground vehicles. Finally, you don’t have to get out of your transport to deploy supply crates. Simply press G to drop em off.
