WARDOGS Weapon Tier List

Ranking weapons in WARDOGS isn’t that simple compared to any other competitive shooter. You can’t just look at the gun’s stats and decide if you want to play with it. You always want to consider its cost because spending $6,500 on a FAL and dying thirty seconds after spawning might ruin your day, heh. And at the same time, running a T-21 for just $600 can work for you, too if you play properly. This is what makes it so tricky, but I’ve done my best. Here’s a complete WARDOGS weapon tier list:

Tier

Weapons

S

T-21, M4, FAL, SVD, PKM, Super-45

A

AK74, M249 SAW, BMR-308, SKS, AMP-9, M500, GGX 18, MK22

B

Galil, A-91, Bushmaster M17S, KH-2002, MP5, PP-19 Vityaz, Deagle, Mosin Nagant, SV98

C

MP43, Scout Rifle TD, GGX 17, M1911, Judge, Compound Bow

Specialist

AMR 50, RPG-7, MAAWS, MGL-40, 9K333 Verba

Unranked

M12G

Note: Both A-91 and KH-2002 are free weapons you don’t need to spend any Cash on. Considering you start each match with only $10,000, this can be a turning point in making a decision what gun to go for. They can be great alternatives to any S-Tier picks here if you’re only starting to play WARDOGS or simply want to build up a stronger in-game economy.

I’ve separated specialist weapons because ranking an anti-air launcher against an M4 is kinda pointless. If a helicopter is farming your squad, 9K333 Verba suddenly becomes more valuable than half the S-Tier. If you’re clearing a building, it obviously doesn’t.

Also, M12G stays unranked so far because it’s definitely present in the current weapon records, but there’s zero info on its price and performance. I would leave it here just for a quick mention, but I’ll move it to a proper tier after it’s fully available in the actual game.

Best Weapons in WARDOGS

As I’ve already said, the strongest gun in WARDOGS isn’t always defined by its raw damage and other stats. It should justify its price and be affordable for most players, especially when you only start playing the game. Here’s a full list of the best weapons in WARDOGS so far:

  • T-21
  • M4
  • FAL
  • SVD
  • PKM
  • Super-45

See? Not that many guns for a super high price. Because you can easily go for a cheaper weapon and still be useful on the battlefield. And you won’t lose that much in case you die, and that can be very disappointing at the start when you have almost zero Cash. Speaking of which, you can learn how to make money in WARDOGS by reading a separate guide on that from my colleague.

T-21

T-21 is by far the best weapon in WARDOGS and my personal favorite to run with. Yeah, it’s stats aren’t the greatest, but you get all that for just $600. 28 damage, 750 RPM, around 550 meters of effective range, and a muzzle velocity of roughly 910 m/s. On an unarmored 100 HP target, the raw numbers put it around four body shots.

Just compare T-21 with M4, for example. The second one costs $2,800, and all you get for that is a small upgrade in terms of firing speed and a slightly better overall feeling of running with it. But paying an extra $2,200 can be too much. Even if you get only one kill with T-21, it’s already good enough.

M4

M4 is the second-best option on my list, but you should go for it only if you’re ready to invest more. It deals 28 damage, shoots at 800 RPM, has around 500 meters of effective range, and costs $2,800.

You can run a red dot and push buildings, put some magnification on it and fight across open terrain, or build something in between. It also weighs only around 2.92 kg, which is noticeably lighter than guns like FAL.

FAL

FAL is the only gun in S-Tier that costs that much. Paying $6,500 should be a weighted decision. It does 60 damage per shot at 650 RPM, fires .308 Winchester, reaches around 800 meters, and has a recorded muzzle velocity of roughly 840 m/s. Against a basic 100 HP unarmored target, two clean body hits are enough.

Looking at its stats kinda justifies its cost, but I’m not sure that many players (especially beginners) would want to spend this much on it. Apart from FAL, you’d also spend a ton on ammo, proper armor, meds, and attachments. All that would cost so much that you would always be afraid of dying on the battlefield. But denying the fact how strong this gun is means being blind, and I’m not. It’s an insanely powerful Assault Rifle.

SVD

SVD is my favorite and particularly strong Marksman Rifle in WARDOGS. You get 55 damage, 480 RPM, 800-meter effective range, and roughly 800 m/s muzzle velocity for $4,800. It’s not the cheapest option, but you get the sniper-like experience with a semi-auto part coming along with it.

It’s more forgiving in terms of missing shots because you won’t have to reload after each shot as you do with a bolt-action sniper. When several enemies are crossing open ground or when you’re supporting teammates from 200-400 meters away, this plays a huge role. I would use SVD over Mosin almost every time if I can afford it. You pay more, but that’s worth it.

PKM

PKM is the only LMG I can call the best one in WARDOGS at the moment. It fires 55-damage 7.62x54mm rounds at around 600 RPM, has roughly 1,000 meters of effective range, and costs $4,500. Quite expensive again, I can’t deny that here. Also, it weighs around 7.5 kg, which means you won’t move that fast with it around the map.

The big advantage is pressure. Put yourself behind decent cover, and PKM lets you punish players crossing roads, peeking windows, or trying to move between buildings. You don’t need to instantly kill everyone. Sometimes making three people stop moving is already enough for your squad to push. But this gun is a bad choice for aggressive solo roaming. The next gun on the list would suit this playstyle more.

Super-45

Super-45 is the strongest SMG I’ve played with in WARDOGS. It’s a total monster if your fight happens inside buildings at closer ranges. It deals 30 damage and fires at a completely stupid 1,200 RPM. That’s four times 300 rounds per minute. But its effective range is only around 50 meters. Also, the price of $2,600 is not what you want to pay for an SMG. Compare it with AMP-9 at $900, and the price difference becomes hard to ignore.

Best WARDOGS Weapons by Class

You have a large variety of weapons in different classes in WARDOGS. Your choice depends on your playstyle and what you’re bringing for your team. I mainly play with Assault Rifles and Marksman Rifles, meaning it’s easier for me to choose my personal favorite here. But I’ve done testing with other categories as well. Check out the best WARDOGS weapons by class:

Weapon Class

Best Pick

Reason

Assault Rifle

T-21 / FAL

T-21 wins in terms of money value. FAL gets a huge score for raw damage

SMG

Super-45

30 damage and 1,200 RPM

LMG

PKM

Much higher per-shot damage than M249

Shotgun

M500

Strong close-range damage without MP43 limitations

Marksman Rifle

SVD

High damage with fast semi-auto follow-ups

Sniper Rifle

AMR 50

Maximum raw power, but horrible price

Sidearm

GGX 18

1,200 RPM makes it a real emergency weapon

Launcher

MAAWS

Best general anti-vehicle launcher

Bow

Compound Bow

Well... it wins by being the only bow

As you can see, there’s a clear winner in every class. The only exception for me would be when it comes to Assault Rifles. There are two distinct guns I enjoy running with, but they’re too different to choose only one. Those are my favorite picks and they might seem individual for you. Well... they kinda are. Choosing what gun to run in this game is just as individual as the best settings in WARDOGS every player has to test and choose for themselves. So, don't worry if your choice is different from what you see in my table.

Best Budget Weapons in WARDOGS

Consider this section of the guide as my advice for beginners in terms of weapon choice in WARDOGS as well. You’d really have to think about what gun to choose when you’re only starting because Cash is part of weapon balance in this game. So far, these are the best budget weapons in WARDOGS:

  • Bushmaster M17S
  • T-21
  • AMP-9
  • AK74

And yeah, I’ve included Bushmaster M17S here as well because it’s quite a decent starter rifle you get for $0. Of course, it falls behind paid rifles in flexibility and attachment value, but if your bank account has been murdered by several terrible lives, Bushmaster gets you back into the game.

T-21

Yeah, T-21 is once again on the list. I’ve said enough about this gun already. You get a ton of value for just $600, and it’s one of those guns that should be bought if you’re on a lower budget in WARDOGS.

AMP-9

AMP-9 costs $900, deals around 22 damage, and fires at 900 RPM. I like it much more than MP5 for budget CQC because MP5 costs more while running at around 800 RPM with the same basic 9mm damage. For a medic or aggressive player who wants cheap close-range insurance, AMP-9 would be the best choice.

AK74

AK74 goes above 1K range in terms of price, but it’s still quite affordable. You get 26 damage, 650 RPM, and around 500 meters effective range for $1,600. It won’t beat M4 on pure output, but it leaves another $1,200 in your pocket. That money can become armor, ammunition, medical supplies, or something else that keeps you alive.

A-Tier Weapons Worth Using

I honestly think that A-Tier weapons you see on my tier list aren’t as bad as you might think. They can be a bit behind in terms of money/stat value, but you won’t always play with the same gun anyway. Going for A-Tier picks can be a great decision to diversify your gameplay in WARDOGS. See what guns I would choose in this case:

  • M249 SAW: Another LMG you can consider if you like this weapon type. Available for $3,200 and fires 5.56 at around 850 RPM. Compared to PKM, it only wins because 55 damage per shot is much more than M249 SAW can offer with its 28-round magazine.
  • BMR-308: The problem is that it’s semi-auto at around 450 RPM for $6,000. Yeah, it hits for 60 damage like FAL, but the cost is what makes me go for another gun.
  • SKS: You pay $2,400 for this gun and get 42 damage at 420 RPM, which is a good value. I actually think this weapon might be underrated, and it’s the one I would go for if you love this weapon type.
  • GGX 18: It only does around 22 damage, but 1,200 RPM makes it basically a tiny SMG. This pistol might save you in the middle of a fight if you’re out of ammo on your primary gun.

I won’t go into any details regarding each weapon here. But I just want to say that these guns are great picks if you want to try anything else apart from obvious picks from S-Tier. I’ve explained my vision on each one, and it’s up to you if you wish to experiment here.

How I Ranked WARDOGS Weapons

Just like with my other weapon tier lists, this ranking is subjective. WARDOGS is also one of those games where you don’t want to compare raw stats and pick a gun out of this only. Its value often matters more than damage output or fire rate. Those things you usually compare in any other competitive shooter, but not in WARDOGS. Check out what criteria I’ve used when ranking all the guns:

  1. Damage: Higher damage reduces how much time you need to stay exposed before you take down an enemy.
  2. Price: This matters much more in this game because you can easily ruin your economy.
  3. Effective Range: WARDOGS has enough open terrain that a 50-meter SMG and an 800-meter rifle cannot be judged the same way.
  4. Fire Rate: High RPM helps enormously in close fights, but it also burns ammunition, and you never know if your teammate would be good enough to supply you with it later.
  5. Versatility: I rank weapons higher when they work across several common fight distances.
  6. Risk: Losing an $8,800 AMR 50 hurts in a way losing a $600 T-21 simply doesn’t.

I also don’t care much about theoretical TTK when it assumes you hit every bullet against an unarmored target at perfect range. That’s useful data, but nobody actually plays WARDOGS inside a spreadsheet.

F.A.Q.

What is the best weapon in WARDOGS?

T-21 is my best overall pick because it costs only $600, but it still gives you proper Assault Rifle performance. FAL is stronger if you have enough money for it, but that’s a rare case for beginners or those who are building up the economy.

What is the best assault rifle in WARDOGS?

FAL has the strongest raw rifle damage at around 60 per shot, but T-21 and M4 are better everyday buys.

What is the best cheap weapon in WARDOGS?

T-21 is the best cheap primary at $600. Bushmaster M17S is even cheaper at $0, but T-21 gives you a much better all-around weapon.

What is the best SMG in WARDOGS?

Super-45 is currently the best SMG thanks to 30 damage and an extremely fast 1,200 RPM fire rate.

What is the best sniper rifle in WARDOGS?

AMR 50 has the most raw power in the game, with around 107 damage and a 2,000-meter effective range. But SVD is much more practical for normal matches.

What is the best LMG in WARDOGS?

PKM is my top LMG because its 55-damage rounds hit much harder than M249 SAW. M249 is cheaper and easier to justify if you’re watching your Cash.

How many weapons are in WARDOGS?

There are currently 35 known weapons from the latest beta records. The developers have confirmed 37 weapons for the September 10 Early Access launch.

Does weapon price matter in WARDOGS?

Yes, a lot. You buy your equipment with persistent in-game Cash, so losing an expensive gun repeatedly can hurt your account much more than using a cheaper loadout.

Is FAL better than M4 in WARDOGS?

FAL is stronger per shot, but M4 costs much less and is easier to justify for normal use. I would use M4 more often and save FAL for stronger loadouts.

What is the worst weapon in WARDOGS?

Scout Rifle TD is one of the weakest normal primaries for me because its 28-damage shot is attached to a very slow single-shot weapon. You can make it work, but there are simply stronger options.
