WoW Forever Leveling Guide

In this WoW Forever Leveling guide, I’ll explain the most important aspect of this game - the journey from level 1 to level 60. It is the cornerstone of your experience in the game, and there are a lot of new things added to it compared to other WoW versions.

WoW Forever Leveling Guide Custom Character

WoW Forever Leveling Guide Quick Overview:

  • The maximum level is 60, with approximately the same leveling speed but more quests and dungeons to pick from
  • The best way to level up is combining questing and dungeon clears
  • At level 14, you can unlock the Cozy Sleeping Bag, which provides up to 3% additional XP.
  • Well Fed buff from consuming food gives an additional 5% XP bonus from kills, while Camping lets you earn rested experience and additional combat buffs.
  • Forever adds nine new leveling dungeons, account-wide Legacy progression, and new zones that give you more options on your way to level 60.

Just because leveling in WoW Forever is much more important doesn't mean you should suffer and waste time trying to get a higher level. How Leveling Works in WoW Forever

WoW Forever Leveling Guide Infographic

Compared to Classic WoW, in Forever there’s lots of new content to explore before you hit the max level. Blizzard added over 1,000 quests across the 1-60 journey, introduced nine new dungeons, and expanded the world with several new regions. And while it is cool, figuring out the best new route to max level is kind of a headache now. Besides, you still need to travel between zones, manage your equipment, train abilities, and deal with mobs that will absolutely obliterate you. There's no level scaling or flying mounts to make everything easier.

The biggest thing is, you're no longer limited to the exact same questing routes we've followed for years. Forever introduces Riverglades for levels 35-45, Shen'dralas for characters around level 40 and above, and new dungeon options from as early as level 13. If you've already leveled several characters through Classic, I think this new content and quest will make it worth your while to do it all over again.

There's also an important change to dungeon leveling. Blizzard adjusted dungeon XP during beta, reducing the additional XP bonus from dungeon quests by 50% and later increasing XP from dungeon creature kills by approximately 20%. That means dungeon quests are still good, but repeatedly grinding the same instance isn't the best move anymore.

So just farming dungeons isn’t a separate fast leveling route as it was in other versions of the game. Now, you gotta mix it up. Clear an instance when you have its quests ready, collect the gear, and move on to your next zone. This way, you get a combination of XP, equipment upgrades, exploration, and Legacy progression.

WoW Forever Leveling Route 1-60

In the following guide, I’ll explain what you should do to get to level 60 as fast as possible, even though in WoW Forever the leveling process is intentionally more important than the endgame, because it’s all supposed to be about the journey and not the destination.

In any case, keep in mind that your exact progression will depend on your faction, how many players are competing for quest objectives, and whether you prefer solo or group leveling, especially when it comes to leveling past level 30. Later on, I’ll add questing routes for higher levels. For now, we do have a very concrete plan for rushing to level 30 and then basically sticking to the same method all the way to the max level.

Levels 1-14: Starting Zones and Early Preparation

For the first 14 levels, I'd simply recommend completing quests in your starting area and nearby zones. Don't worry about traveling across the world just yet. You'll get plenty of XP from the additional quests introduced in Forever, and sticking to one area will save you unnecessary travel time and money. That is to say that I would recommend doing all quests you see in the same area, at least for now.

The only exception is when a starting area becomes overcrowded. If you're spending five minutes waiting for a single mob to respawn, just move somewhere else. As cool as it is, it’s a waste of time. You can kill additional mobs while traveling or pick up another quest instead of competing with twenty players for the same objective.

Here are some good early leveling locations:

Faction

Zones to Level Up In

Alliance

Elwynn Forest, Dun Morogh, Teldrassil, Westfall, Loch Modan

Horde

Durotar, Mulgore, Tirisfal Glades, The Barrens, Silverpine Forest

Skyborne

Zephras Isle, the new level 1-12 starting zone

While you're completing quests, I recommend doing several things that will help later:

  • Learn your primary professions and start gathering materials on the way.
  • Get First Aid and Cooking as soon as they're available. They’ll be used to give you XP bonuses later.
  • Unlock nearby flight paths, even if you don't need them right now. It’s going to save you lots of time (“welcome to the rice fields, motherfluffer”!)
  • Sell Junk items every time you come back to a settlement for repairs.
  • Keep your Hearthstone bound to the inn closest to your current questing hub.
  • Group with nearby players for group quests and elites. Yes, we’re so back!

You should also start saving gold for additional bags. Even cheap 6-slot or 8-slot bags make a difference because you won't need to visit vendors every twenty minutes. You ain’t getting them for free any time soon, but more inventory space is always needed. Another thing I recommend is looking at your upcoming ability and talent unlocks. You don't need to purchase every available spell rank right away, especially if you rarely use that ability. Prioritize upgrades that improve your damage, survivability, or movement speed. Check out class guides and builds to make sure you’re not wasting your money. Once you reach level 14, there's one particular questline I strongly recommend completing before moving on.

Level 14: Get the Cozy Sleeping Bag

There are a few ways to increase the amount of XP you’re getting. The Cozy Sleeping Bag is one of those things. You can obtain it starting at level 14, and it grants a stacking XP buff when you lie down inside it. After three minutes, you'll receive the maximum 3% XP bonus for one hour.

That's not a huge buff on its own, but it's a bag with additional slots as a quest reward, and these don’t come around often. More importantly, the questline itself gives you a good amount of XP and several useful rewards. Here's what you can get from completing it:

Reward

Details

Cozy Sleeping Bag

Up to 3% additional XP from all sources

Student Fodder

5 consumables awarded throughout the chain; these restore health in Forever

12-slot bag

A substantial inventory upgrade at level 14

Quest XP

Approximately 12,500-15,000 XP, depending on level and rewards

Flight paths

Opportunities to unlock several flight paths along the route

Additional supplies

Useful consumables and quest rewards

There’s going to be a lot of traveling between continents in this questline, so you better come prepared. A beta run took approximately two hours, although the actual time will depend on travel options, enemy players, and how familiar you are with the route.

Horde and Alliance both have this questline, but they start in different locations. You'll be traveling between Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms, so I suggest unlocking flight paths along the way if you haven’t already by the time you start this questline.

  1. Start the questline. Alliance players should visit Alexston Farmstead in Westfall at /way 37 50. Horde players need to travel south of Camp Taurajo in the Barrens to /way 46 74. Interact with the Burned-Out Remains to begin ... and that note you found.
  2. Visit the opposite faction's starting location. Travel to the other location mentioned above, complete the first quest, and accept Stepping Stones.
  3. Travel to Stonetalon Mountains. Find the abandoned camp at /way 40.6 52.4, interact with the Pocket Litter, and accept Scramble.
  4. Complete the Stonetalon objective. Climb the nearby hill and jump toward the Mound of Dirt at /way 39.6 49.8. Interact with it to begin Wet Job.
  5. Head to Loch Modan. Travel to the dam at /way 49.4 12.9, jump onto the carved stone heads, and interact with the Eagle Figurine to accept Eagle's Fist.
  6. Finish at Thoradin Wall. Head to the Hillsbrad side of the wall at /way 87.3 49.6. Use the nearby cart to climb inside, interact with the Messenger Bag, and complete This Must Be The Place. Collect your Sleeping Bag from the satchel underneath.

There's also an optional Rekindle objective at the abandoned Stonetalon camp, where you can use Simple Wood and Flint and Tinder to light the campfire.

The biggest difficulty of the questline is actually going to the quest objectives. You have to travel between continents, especially when you're entering hostile territory. And if you’re playing on a PvP realm, you might be screwed. So, make sure your Hearthstone is set somewhere convenient, and collect any flight paths you can safely reach.

Once you have the Sleeping Bag, use it before you start completing quests or run a dungeon. You need three minutes to build the full XP bonus.

Levels 15-20: Start Clearing Dungeons

WoW Forever Orc Warlocks

It’s around level 16-17 when you start running dungeons. Despite the fact that dungeons become available earlier, that doesn’t mean you have what it takes to actually finish them. And getting into a dungeon with too low a level is also going to set the rest of the players in a group up to fail. You don’t want to do this.

Forever adds two low-level dungeons, Hall of Thanes and Ruins of Lordaeron, alongside familiar Classic dungeons. So, make sure you've collected the available quests first. Some require prerequisite quest chains to be done, while others start from items dropped by bosses. An addon like Dungeon Journal can help you track those objectives. Stay tuned for a guide on the best addons in the game.

Here's the early dungeon progression I'd recommend:

Dungeon

Level range

Notes

Hall of Thanes

13-18

Early Alliance dungeon beneath Ironforge

Ragefire Chasm

~13-18

Good early Horde dungeon

Ruins of Lordaeron

15-20

New Forever dungeon above the Undercity

Wailing Caverns

~17-24

Complete available quests during your first clear

The Deadmines

~17-26

Good Alliance-oriented alternative

The most important thing here is not to rush into dungeons without their quests. Some dungeon quests award significantly more XP than regular outdoor quests of a similar level, and their gear rewards are often worth using for several levels.

For example, Ruins of Lordaeron has quests awarding 7,050-9,750 XP, depending on the objective and faction. That’s a huge load of XP for the level you’ll be doing it on.

What’s also going to help a lot is if you find a group to run dungeons back-to-back. Not the same one, though, but different ones. This’ll save you time and give you more chances to get rare loot from the bosses.

Levels 20-25: Dungeon Quests, Gear, and Professions

Around level 20, you will continue mixing it up. Depending on your faction, good questing zones include Duskwood, Redridge Mountains, Ashenvale, Hillsbrad Foothills, and the higher-level sections of the Barrens.

At this point, you’re also going to want to start considering upgrading your gear. If you're still wearing several items from your starting zone, you'll probably notice that enemies take longer to kill and hit considerably harder. I recommend looking for quest rewards and dungeon drops for more green and blue rarity items (most of which come from dungeons at this point) and seek to replace your grey gear with something better. Otherwise, you’ll be wasting time by spending more time than you should on dealing with mobs.

The main dungeons to consider are:

Dungeon

When to consider it

Shadowfang Keep

Around level 20-25

Blackfathom Deeps

Around level 21-27

The Stockade

Around level 22-28, primarily Alliance

Excavation Site

Level 24-29

Excavation Site is another new Forever dungeon, located in the Wetlands near Whelgar's Excavation. I'd recommend incorporating it into your leveling route once you're appropriately geared and have the relevant quests ready.

Don't forget to continue working on your professions at this point. Forever introduces hundreds of new profession recipes, including useful low-level equipment, consumables, and improvements. Check my WoW Forever Best Professions Guide if you want to compare the options.

I would also start collecting cheap consumables. Basically, if you can spare a few silver coins, you should get basic healing potions, weapon enhancements, and armor kits.

Level 25: Start Using the Legacy System

WoW Forever Legacy Tree Well Rested Buff

Level 25 is another important milestone because this is when most players will unlock the new Legacy System. You earn your first Legacy Point by reaching level 25, although you can unlock the system earlier through other activities, such as reaching 150 skill in a non-gathering primary profession.

Legacy is account-wide progression that rewards you for completing challenges across the game. This includes leveling, exploring, crafting, completing dungeons, and other activities. You spend the points on perks that improve your characters in different ways. I won’t go too much into the ins and outs of how this system works here, but for leveling, I would prioritize looking into these perks:

Legacy perk

Leveling benefit

Well Rested

Increases rested XP accumulation and raises the cap

Thrill of Adventure

Restores some health and mana after eligible kills

Talented

Lets you unlock talent points up to five levels earlier

Frequent Flier

Reduces flight costs and travel time

Field Guide

Reduces the cooldown on placing Camping features

Gourmand

Increases the duration of food buffs

Field Medicine

Reduces the Recently Bandaged debuff duration outside instanced content

You gotta work to unlock these perks, though. Each costs Legacy Points, so I wouldn't recommend planning your entire leveling route around unlocking one specific bonus as soon as possible.

This system is designed to motivate you to interact with the world even if it’s not strictly beneficial for your character leveling. I mean, there could be a challenge to complete a dungeon that doesn’t give you the best rewards on your level, but it will progress your Legacy. I've explained the unlock requirements, challenges, and available perks in more detail in my WoW Forever Legacy System Guide.

Levels 25-30: Prepare for the Midgame

The last stretch before level 30, you’ll still be doing quests and dungeons, just with a few more options. Just find a zone with the most quest markers in it and “go to town”. Check out Thousand Needles, Hillsbrad Foothills, Wetlands, Ashenvale, and the earlier quests in Stranglethorn Vale. These will give you good amounts of XP. Furthermore, there’ll be plenty of mining nodes and other gathering nodes for your professions.

Keep an eye on new dungeons at specific levels, but get at least one level higher than the unlock requirement:

Dungeon

LvLs

Excavation Site

24-29

City of Dalaran

28-33

Razorfen Kraul

29-38

Gnomeregan

29-38

Scarlet Monastery: Graveyard

30-38

Do the dungeons with quests for the maximum reward, but if a dungeon entrance is too far away from where you’re questing, it’s not worth spending time to get there. But then again, if this is your first time playing, you might as well go on that journey.

By level 30, I'd also recommend checking whether your equipment, professions, and consumables are keeping up with your character. Having appropriate gear matters a lot more than simply reaching the next level as quickly as possible.

Levels 30-35: Scarlet Monastery and Classic Questing Zones

This is the part where I’m going to have to give a disclaimer: the guide is written prior to the release of the game, which means no one, including me, has tried the game content past level 30. So, the following is just what I think is going to work for us in terms of leveling.

For questing, I recommend continuing to clear Stranglethorn Vale, Thousand Needles, Desolace, and Arathi Highlands, depending on your faction and available quests. As you make your way to the dungeon, just get every quest you come across and do them on the way to save time.

Levels 35-40: Explore Riverglades

This is a pretty cool level range since you can visit one of those new areas. Riverglades is a brand-new level 35-45 zone in the Eastern Kingdoms, and it's roughly the size of Stranglethorn Vale. It introduces nearly 200 quests spread across different faction storylines and locations.

I would go there if I were you as soon as I hit level 35, especially if you've already done the classic quests multiple times before. There’s a lot of content in there, including quests, new mobs to farm, and new item drops. It’s going to be a breath of fresh air. You can enter Riverglades by land near Redridge Mountains and Burning Steppes or take the new ship from Steamwheedle Port in Tanaris to Powderfuse Port.

Alternatively, you can keep going through Stranglethorn Vale, Desolace, and Arathi Highlands, which is the “old” questing route from previous versions of the game.

There's also a new dungeon to consider:

  • The Drowned City (35-40): Located off the coast of Stranglethorn Vale, featuring ancient troll ruins and underwater sections.

I'd recommend getting the available dungeon quests and running The Drowned City when you're ready. You can find more details about Riverglades and the other new regions in my WoW Forever New Zones Guide.

Levels 40-45: Get Your Mount and Continue Through New Zones

Level 40 is one of the most important milestones in the entire leveling journey because this is when you can obtain your first regular mount. I strongly recommend saving gold for riding training and the mount itself instead of spending everything on temporary equipment upgrades.

Travel takes up an enormous amount of time in Classic, so getting your mount makes a substantial difference for the remaining twenty levels.

For questing, I'd recommend continuing through Riverglades or exploring Shen'dralas, another new Forever zone aimed at characters around level 40 and above. Shen'dralas connects to southern Desolace through the Valley of Bones and continues some of the region's existing storylines.

If you can’t beat your habits of going through the same zones, quests, and dungeons every time, you can still stick with traditional zones such as Tanaris, Feralas, and the higher-level sections of Stranglethorn Vale.

Two dungeon options worth mentioning are:

  • Krol'dok Stronghold (40-45): A new ogre dungeon in Riverglades.
  • Uldaman (36-45): An existing Classic dungeon in the Badlands.

Personally, I'd prioritize completing the new content at least once, especially if you're interested in Legacy progression. However, there's nothing wrong with using familiar zones if your main priority is XP efficiency.

Levels 45-50: Tanaris, Feralas, and Late-Midgame Dungeons

By level 45, the number of viable questing areas starts to narrow down, especially if you've already completed many of the quests available in earlier zones.

I'd recommend focusing on Tanaris, Feralas, The Hinterlands, and Searing Gorge. These regions provide plenty of quests, and you can choose between them depending on your faction and where you've already established flight paths.

You should also continue collecting dungeon quests when you can. Zul'Farrak, Maraudon, and other appropriate Classic instances can provide useful experience and equipment during this stage.

Forever introduces another new dungeon shortly afterward:

  • Alcaz Prison (48-53): Located on Alcaz Island in Dustwallow Marsh.

I wouldn't rush into Alcaz Prison at level 48 without checking the available quests and your group's equipment. As with other dungeons, the goal is to complete a worthwhile run rather than spending hours wiping or searching for missing objectives.

This is also a good time to check your gold, inventory space, and profession progress. You still have more than ten levels to go, and small improvements to travel speed and combat efficiency can save considerable time.

WoW Forever Giant Turtle

Levels 50-55: Start Preparing for Level 60

The final ten levels are usually among the slowest in Classic, so I recommend focusing on quest-rich zones and avoiding unnecessary backtracking.

Good locations to consider include Un'Goro Crater, Felwood, Western Plaguelands, Burning Steppes, and Winterspring as you become strong enough for their quests.

At this point, I'd also start thinking about the equipment you'll want at level 60. You don't need to farm a complete endgame set while leveling, but completing certain dungeon quests and collecting useful upgrades can make the transition into endgame much easier.

Some of the major dungeon options include Blackrock Depths, Sunken Temple, and other appropriately leveled instances.

My advice is to keep following the same strategy we've used throughout the guide: collect the quests first, complete the dungeon when your group is ready, and continue outdoor questing afterward.

Levels 55-60: Final Leveling Push

For the final levels, I'd recommend moving between high-level zones such as Eastern Plaguelands, Winterspring, Silithus, and the higher-level quests in Un'Goro Crater and Burning Steppes.

Forever also adds two late-game dungeons:

Dungeon

Level range

Location

Blackmaw Hold

55-60

Azshara

Shaper's Terrace

58-60

Un'Goro Crater

These are worth considering as you approach level 60, especially if you can collect their quests and find a group without spending too much time waiting.

You can also start completing appropriate high-level Classic dungeons for equipment and experience. Just remember that your main objective is still reaching 60, so don't spend hours farming a single item unless you genuinely need it.

After reaching level 60, you can begin exploring the new Mount Hyjal content, work on your remaining Legacy Challenges, and prepare for Forever's endgame dungeons and raids. Mount Hyjal is designed as a level-60 destination rather than a regular leveling zone, so I wouldn't recommend including it in your 50-60 questing route.

All XP Bonuses in WoW Forever and How to Get Them

WoW Forever introduces several ways to increase the experience you earn while leveling. Some are direct XP bonuses, while others provide rested experience or improve your ability to kill enemies faster.

I recommend using as many of these bonuses as you can reasonably maintain, but there's no point spending more time preparing than actually leveling. Here's a breakdown of the main XP-related bonuses and how to obtain them.

XP bonus

Effect

How to get it

Cozy Sleeping Bag

Up to 3% additional XP from all sources for 1 hour

Complete the level 14 questline and rest in the bag for 3 minutes

Cooking food buffs

5% additional XP from mob kills

Eat suitable cooked food that provides the XP buff

Leatherworking Camp Tent

Grants rested XP equal to 5% of a level, subject to the rested XP limit

Sit near a Camp Tent at a campsite

Rested XP

Normally doubles XP earned from eligible mob kills while rested XP remains

Log out in an inn or capital city, or use other rested XP sources

Well Rested Legacy perk

Faster rested XP accumulation and a larger rested XP cap

Unlock the Legacy System and invest points in Well Rested

Dungeon quests

Large one-time XP rewards

Collect and complete dungeon quests

Regular quest completion

Standard quest XP, with more quests available throughout Forever

Complete quests appropriate for your level

One important thing to understand is that the bonuses don't all work in the same way. For example, Cooking increases XP from kills, while the Cozy Sleeping Bag provides a general XP bonus. The Camp Tent, meanwhile, awards rested experience rather than giving you a permanent 5% XP multiplier.

Cooking XP Buffs

Cooking is much more useful for leveling in Forever because certain prepared foods provide 5% additional XP from killing enemies. That's a pretty good bonus considering you already need food to restore your health between fights.

One early example is Roasted Boar Meat, which was available during beta with a 15-minute food buff that also provided +1 Strength.

You can prepare suitable food yourself or purchase it from other players. I'd recommend comparing Auction House prices before buying large quantities, because some inexpensive foods may provide the XP bonus without requiring you to spend much gold.

Keep in mind that this bonus applies to kills, not every possible source of XP. It's still useful, but don't expect a 5% increase on all your quest turn-ins.

Camping and Rested XP

WoW Forever Camping With Players

The Camping System is one of the more interesting additions to Forever. Players can set up campsites in the open world, and different professions can contribute structures that provide buffs or useful services.

Leatherworkers can create a Camp Tent that grants rested experience equal to 5% of a level, provided your existing rested XP doesn't already exceed that amount.

You don't necessarily need Leatherworking yourself, either. If another player has established a campsite with a tent, you can benefit from it by sitting nearby.

Other useful camping structures include:

Camping feature

Profession

Benefit

Camp Tent

Leatherworking

Rested XP equal to 5% of a level

Camp Chair

Skinning

+2% critical strike chance

Incense Candle

Herbalism

Level-dependent Intellect bonus

Enchanted Lute

Enchanting

Additional Armor, stats, and resistances

Faction Banner

Tailoring

Additional Spirit

Reagent Bot

Engineering

Access to reagent purchases

Some of these buffs overlap with existing class buffs, so you won't always benefit from every structure at once.

I recommend checking for campsites whenever you're preparing for a dungeon, taking a break between quests, or traveling through a busy area. Sitting for a short time can give you useful bonuses without requiring any gold.

Legacy Bonuses for Leveling

The Legacy System doesn't simply provide a universal XP multiplier. Instead, its perks can improve leveling efficiency in several ways.

Well Rested is particularly useful because it increases how quickly you accumulate rested experience and raises the amount you can store.

Other perks, such as Thrill of Adventure, reduce downtime by restoring health and mana after kills. Frequent Flier saves travel time, while Talented lets you reach certain talent unlocks earlier than usual.

If you're planning to level multiple characters, these bonuses become even more interesting because Legacy progression is account-wide. However, you don't need to create additional characters to unlock every advantage.

WoW Forever Leveling Tips and Tricks

I couldn’t possibly cover every little detail about leveling. The game was huge back then, and it is even bigger in Forever, so everything I couldn’t fit in this leveling guide, I put into this neat table of tricks, so check this out as well:

Tip

What I recommend

Skip inefficient quests

Don't spend 10 minutes competing for a single mob or waiting for an escort NPC to respawn. Move to another quest or grind nearby enemies instead.

Improve mob tagging

Use instant-cast abilities to tag enemies before other players. In crowded areas, camp a specific spawn point instead of running around looking for mobs.

Group up when possible

Duo leveling makes difficult quests easier, reduces downtime, and helps you complete objectives faster. Forever's increased quest density makes grouping particularly attractive.

Collect dungeon quests

Grab all available quests before entering a dungeon, including prerequisite chains. Use Dungeon Journal to find them. Dungeon farming is also an option with an efficient group, especially after the beta XP adjustments.

Plan around power spikes

Check when you unlock important talents, abilities, and equipment upgrades. Levels 20, 30, and 40 are good checkpoints to review your build and gear.

Prioritize movement speed

Use movement talents, abilities, and inexpensive boot enchants. You'll spend a lot of time traveling before getting your mount at level 40.

Use your Hearthstone efficiently

Bind it to your current questing hub, complete several quests, and teleport back to turn everything in. Collect flight paths whenever you're nearby.

Maximize rested XP

Always log out at inns or capital cities. Use the new Camping System and Cozy Sleeping Bag for additional leveling bonuses.

Level secondary professions

First Aid provides healing and ways to remove certain debuffs. Cooking offers the 5% kill XP bonus, while Fishing provides materials and additional income.

Choose useful primary professions

Gathering professions help you earn gold, while crafting provides gear, consumables, and enhancements. Skinning is especially convenient because you'll already be killing beasts.

Use cheap consumables and upgrades

Early armor kits can provide +8 Armor and +1 Stamina. Sharpening Stones, Weightstones, weapon enchants, and basic elixirs can also improve your leveling efficiency.

Save gold for your mount

Avoid unnecessary Auction House purchases, expensive respecs, and ability ranks you rarely use. Prioritize saving for your level 40 mount.

Combine city errands

Train abilities, visit weapon masters, manage professions, sell unwanted items, and organize your bank during the same city visit.

Create a bank alt

Mail excess cloth, crafting materials, and valuable items to an alternate character. You'll free up inventory space and avoid unnecessary trips to vendors.

Use leveling addons

Questie helps with quest routes, Dungeon Journal tracks dungeon quests, Leatrix Maps improves navigation, and Auctionator helps you compare prices.

Don't rush everything

Forever adds over 1,000 new quests, new zones, and additional progression systems. Sometimes completing new content and earning Legacy Points is more valuable than maximizing XP per hour.

One last thing I'd recommend is keeping your equipment reasonably up to date. You don't need to buy expensive upgrades every five levels, but a better weapon, a few inexpensive enchants, and useful dungeon rewards can make a noticeable difference. The faster you kill enemies and the less often you need to stop and recover, the smoother your entire leveling journey becomes.

F.A.Q.

What is the maximum level in WoW Forever?

The maximum level in WoW Forever is 60, just like in the original version of World of Warcraft. However, Forever adds more than 1,000 new quests, nine new dungeons, and additional progression systems throughout the journey.

What is the fastest way to level in WoW Forever?

I recommend combining outdoor questing with dungeon clears when you have all the relevant quests ready. Using Cooking XP bonuses, the Cozy Sleeping Bag, rested XP, and efficient travel routes can further improve your leveling speed without requiring you to grind the same enemies for hours.

Is dungeon leveling worth it in WoW Forever?

Yes, particularly when you complete the available dungeon quests. Blizzard adjusted dungeon XP during beta, so I wouldn't assume repeatedly grinding one instance is always faster than questing. Personally, I'd prioritize completing dungeons for their one-time quests, gear, and Legacy progression.

How do you get the Cozy Sleeping Bag in WoW Forever?

You can start the Cozy Sleeping Bag questline at level 14. Alliance players begin in Westfall, while Horde players start in the Barrens. The chain takes you through several zones before ending at Thoradin Wall, where you receive the Sleeping Bag and can use it to gain up to 3% additional XP.

What professions are best for leveling in WoW Forever?

It depends on whether you want to craft equipment, earn gold, or maximize leveling efficiency. I recommend Cooking for its 5% kill XP bonus and First Aid for reducing downtime. For primary professions, gathering is convenient for making gold, while crafting professions offer useful new equipment and consumables.

Can you level solo in WoW Forever?

Yes, you can complete the entire 1-60 journey solo, although some elite quests and dungeons are intended for groups. Duo leveling can make certain objectives easier and improve dungeon access, but solo questing is still a perfectly viable way to reach level 60.

Is WoW Forever leveling faster than Classic?

Forever adds more quests, additional dungeons, XP bonuses, and convenience systems, which can make the journey more efficient. However, it retains the slower Classic-style progression model, and there's no confirmed universal 1-60 leveling time yet. I would expect actual leveling times to depend heavily on your route, class, grouping, and how much new content you choose to explore.
