Midnight Season 1 Tier Sets Overview
All tier sets in Midnight come from 3 new raids: Quel’Danas, Dreamrift, and Voidspire. Each set comes with 2 bonus sets, unique to the class specialization. One set bonus is unlocked for equipping 2 set pieces, and another one for equipping 2 set pieces. There are also 6 color variations based on the content type and difficulty:
PvE:
- Raid Finder
- Normal
- Heroic
- Mythic
PvP:
- Gladiator
- Elite
Don’t forget that you can convert a non-tier armor into tier set pieces using Matrix Catalyst. The conversion process requires a Dawnlight Manaflux, earned from achievements like Champion of the Dawn or from certain elites and raid bosses.
You’re going to need a Veteran-track armor or higher to turn it into a tier set item. But it only works for specific item slots, namely: legs, hands, helm, shoulders, and chest. Those are the ones that are going to give you the set bonuses. The rest of the slots are kind of cosmetics, and they can also be turned into a tier set item, if only for the appearance.
Death Knight: Relentless Rider's Lament
The Relentless Rider's Lament set features cold metal armor pieces with lots of spikes and icy outlines. The color variations have different metallic and cloth accents with blue, purple, cyan, green, and red options.
For the Blood spec, the set emphasizes resource generation and the ability to strike with greater power. Frost focuses on increasing damage output through empowered abilities, while Unholy strengthens damage-over-time effects and rune management. Here's a breakdown of how each spec benefits from the set bonuses:
Blood:
- 2 pieces: Blood Boil deals 8% increased damage and generates 3 Runic Power.
- 4 pieces: Death Strike deals 8% increased damage with a 10% chance to grant a charge of Blood Boil.
Frost:
- 2 pieces: Empower Rune Weapon increases Obliterate or Frostscythe damage by 20%.
- 4 pieces: Empower Rune Weapon recharges 20% faster, and Pillar of Frost grants 1 additional charge.
Unholy:
- 2 pieces: Dread Plague and Virulent Plague damage increased by 25%.
- 4 pieces: Putrefy deals 20% increased damage and makes your next Scourge Strike cost no Rune.

Demon Hunter: Devouring Reaver's Sheathe
Devouring Reaver's Sheathe is a Demon Hunter's animalistic form. The first thing you notice is the helmet’s horns bent backwards, which remind you of the Illidan horns. Another highlight is the shoulderpads that look like some kind of soul prison. The iron-cast bar contains some kind of energy, and you can even spot an occasional skull flying out as if some souls manage to slip out. That seems very Demon Hunter-like.
With Havoc, you’ll shred through enemies even faster, and Vengeance gives you extra chances to blow up enemies with Fracture. Meanwhile, the Devourer spec gets even more power out of your Void Ray and Collapsing Star abilities. Check out how each spec benefits from the set:
Devourer:
- 2 pieces: Void Ray damage increased by 10%.
- 4 pieces: Collapsing Star damage increased by 10%, now generates 10 Fury.
Havoc:
- 2 pieces: Blade Dance damage increased by 15%.
- 4 pieces: Haste increased by 6% during Metamorphosis.
Vengeance:
- 2 pieces: Fracture damage increased by 35%.
- 4 pieces: Fracture has a 30% chance to spark a violent detonation, causing 180% of Attack Power Fire damage to nearby enemies.

Druid: Sprouts of the Luminous Bloom
Sprouts of the Luminous Bloom set has a plant theme going on for it. Its most standout features are the bark-made horns on the helmet and the shoulder pads that remind you of flower buds that are about to burst open. The rest of the armor consists of leaves and tree bark. You know, Midnight has you fight these Light-born plant creatures, and that’s what this set is about.
The set empowers your form-shifting and gives you bonus damage on your spells, turning you into an unstoppable force of nature. Here’s what each spec gains from the set bonuses:
Balance:
- 2 pieces: Shooting Stars deal 40% more damage and generate 2 additional Astral Power outside Eclipse.
- 4 pieces: Starfall and Starsurge damage increased by 5%, casting them has a 30% chance to strike an affected target with an exploding Shooting Star.
Feral:
- 2 pieces: Gaining Clearcasting from Omen of Clarity increases your chance to critically strike by 5% for 4 sec.
- 4 pieces: Rake damage increased by 20%. Clearcasting increases Shred or Swipe damage by an additional 15%.
Guardian:
- 2 pieces: Raze / Maul and Ravage damage increased by 10%. Moonfire damage increased by 10%.
- 4 pieces: Raze / Maul and Ravage have a 5% chance to activate Galactic Guardian. Moonfire's periodic damage has a chance to make your next Raze / Maul or Ravage strike again at 100% effectiveness.
Restoration:
- 2 pieces: Wild Growth healing increased by 25%.
- 4 pieces: Wild Growth cooldown reduced by 2 sec, and mana cost reduced by 10%.

Evoker: Livery of the Black Talon
Livery of the Black Talon is the Evoker’s Season 1 set, harkening back to the Black Dragonflight. At least that’s what it looks like to me. The set looks regal and opulent, but it also has some of the earth-theme features, specifically the shoulder pads that have some kind of gemstones installed in them that burst out energy. And you gotta remember that Black Dragonflight was meant to protect and shape the earth itself. In any case, no matter which color variation you look at, they all give you that vibe.
The set’s bonuses empower each spec, making you a force to be reckoned with in any situation. Here’s how each spec benefits:
Augmentation:
- 2 pieces: Eruption damage increased by 10%, and it extends Ebon Might by an additional 0.1 sec.
- 4 pieces: While Ebon Might is active, empower spells deal 10% more damage and cool down 10% faster.
Devastation:
- 2 pieces: Azure Sweep damage increased by 50,% and its damage against your primary target is increased by an additional 100%.
- 4 pieces: Eternity Surge grants 1 additional charge of Azure Sweep. Casting Azure Sweep reduces the cooldown of Eternity Surge by 2.0 sec.
Preservation:
- 2 pieces: Verdant Embrace healing increased by 20% and cooldown reduced by 2 sec.
- 4 pieces: Verdant Embrace grows an Emerald Blossom on your target at 100% effectiveness.

Hunter: Primal Sentry's Camouflage
Primal Sentry's Camouflage is straight-up out of the Monster Hunter games. Every piece of this armor set is very clearly made out of some part of the beast's skeleton. The bracers, shoulder pads, and the helmet are all skulls and fangs; the back of the head, chest, and feet are clearly made of some beast’s scales, which makes it a very similar style to what you could see in the MH series.
This set ensures that your shots hit harder and your beasts perform even better, whether you're solo or in a raid. Here's how the bonuses stack up for each spec:
Beast Mastery:
- 2 pieces: Bestial Wrath's direct damage is increased by 25%.
- 4 pieces: Bestial Wrath summons 1 Dire Beast for 8 sec.
Marksmanship:
- 2 pieces: Precise Shots damage increased by an additional 20%.
- 4 pieces: Spending Precise Shots has a small chance to release a volley of arrows, dealing 150% of Attack Power to nearby enemies.
Survival:
- 2 pieces: Wildfire Bomb damage increased by 10%.
- 4 pieces: Wildfire Bomb provokes an additional Strike as One at 100% effectiveness.

Mage: Voidbreaker's Accordance
The Voidbreaker's Accordance set looks like a very classic mage-theme armor. What makes it so “mage-y”? The huge magical orbs spinning around on the shoulders, runes all over the armor, and some kind of artifact on the forehead of the cape. I like it a lot, but if you wanted something unique for a mage to wear, your best bet is still the custom transmog.
This set pushes the boundaries of your elemental mastery and enhances the overall potency of your spell rotation. Here's how each spec benefits from the bonuses:
Arcane:
- 2 pieces: Each Arcane Charge increases your critical strike chance by 1%.
- 4 pieces: The critical strike damage of your Arcane spells is increased by 10%.
Fire:
- 2 pieces: Pyroblast and Flamestrike deal 6% increased damage.
- 4 pieces: Casting Pyroblast or Flamestrike reduces the cooldown of Fire Blast by 0.30 sec.
Frost:
- 2 pieces: Flurry damage increased by 10%, and Flurry has a 10% chance to grant Fingers of Frost.
- 4 pieces: Fingers of Frost increases Shatter's damage by 15%.

Monk: Way of Ra-den's Chosen
Monks following the Way of Ra-den's Chosen in Season 1 have to be my favorite set because it combines two themes - spirit, the Mogu, and the Oni. The spiritual glow of some of the elements, especially the demon horns and shoulders, makes this set stand out. But it's not just the glowy bits. The mask or face part of the helmet is definitely from Mogu. The top knot on the back and the oni horns with the fangs give me the Japanese Oni demon vibe. It’s definitely one of the coolest-looking sets for me.
This set brings everything to the table: damage, healing, and tanking, while focusing on making your cooldowns and abilities flow more smoothly. Here’s how the bonuses break down for each spec:
Brewmaster:
- 2 pieces: Keg Smash damage increased by 10%. Breath of Fire damage increased by 10%.
- 4 pieces: Keg Smash's Energy cost is reduced by 5, and when it strikes a target afflicted by Breath of Fire, it deals 50% additional Fire damage.
Mistweaver:
- 2 pieces: Renewing Mist healing is increased by 20%.
- 4 pieces: Casting Thunder Focus Tea applies a Renewing Mist for 20 sec onto a nearby ally.
Windwalker:
- 2 pieces: Strike of the Windlord and Whirling Dragon Punch's damage is increased by 30%.
- 4 pieces: The cooldowns of Strike of the Windlord and Whirling Dragon Punch are reduced by 5 sec.

Paladin: Luminant Verdict's Vestments
Luminant Verdict's Vestments is the quintessential Paladin set for Season 1. It's the most "paladiny" Paladin set you can imagine. It’s both super classic and new. It is not even based on the elvish style of armor, despite Midnight being based on it. My favorite parts are, of course, the helmet, which is this metal knight helmet with light-fused eyes shining from the depths, but it being covered in a hood makes it even better. The shoulder pads are unique because the left one features a face with light-fused eyes that are crying tears. How cool is that? My favorite color variations are those obtained from Normal raids and Gladiator in PvP.
This set amplifies your role, whether you’re keeping the team alive, protecting your allies, or smiting foes with righteous fury. Here's how each spec benefits:
Holy:
- 2 pieces: Holy Shock's healing is increased by 15%.
- 4 pieces: Holy Shock transfers an additional 20% healing into your Beacon of Light.
Protection:
- 2 pieces: Shield of the Righteous deals 20% increased damage.
- 4 pieces: After casting Shield of the Righteous, your next Avenger's Shield deals 5% increased damage. Stacks up to 5.
Retribution:
- 2 pieces: Expurgation deals 20% increased damage.
- 4 pieces: Final Verdict / Templar's Verdict applies Expurgation at 100% effectiveness, while Divine Storm applies it at 50% effectiveness.

Priest: Blind Oath's Burden
The Priest set for Season 1, Blind Oath's Burden, has a very unique justice theme going on. Despite most of the armor still being a cloth-made garb, the set does have lots of bulky, massive paladin-style elements, especially the helmet, shoulders, and bracers. The helmet has wings on both sides and armor pieces that cover the eyes. The wings remind me of Valkyries or Aesir, but closed-off eyesight reminds me of the Lady Justice. The biggest tell towards the justice theme is the shoulder pads that feature an inscribed human figure or statue that holds a sword with a blade pointed downward. I really admire the level of detail on this armor set.
This set makes you more effective as a healer or damage-dealer, whether you’re managing atonements or making your shadows even more deadly. Here's what the set offers for each spec:
Discipline:
- 2 pieces: Flash Heal, Shadow Mend, and Power Word: Radiance healing increased by 25%.
- 4 pieces: Atonements applied by Flash Heal and Power Word: Radiance last an additional 3 sec.
Holy:
- 2 pieces: Casting Benediction has a high chance to summon a Divine Image.
- 4 pieces: Divine Image lasts for an additional 3.0 sec, and its healing and damage are increased by 30%.
Shadow:
- 2 pieces: Shadow Word: Madness damage increased by 10% and Insanity cost reduced by 5.
- 4 pieces: Shadowy Apparitions and Void Apparitions damage increased by 40%.

Rogue: Motley of the Grim Jest
The Rogue set, Motley of the Grim Jest, has a lot going on for it. The overarching theme seems to be a masquerade outfit, which you can tell was the original idea, especially if you look at the mask and the arms. The shoulder pads don’t really fit the theme, though - they’re too bulky, but I do like that they have this animated hue.
This set makes you deadlier in every aspect, whether you're sneaking up on enemies or taking them down in a flurry of blades. Here's how each spec benefits:
Assassination:
- 2 pieces: Garrote's damage is increased by 30%, and it also applies your weapon poisons.
- 4 pieces: Garrote's Energy cost is reduced by 10. Mutilate, Ambush, and Fan of Knives deal 25% increased damage to targets affected by your weapon poisons.
Outlaw:
- 2 pieces: Blade Rush's damage is increased by 30%, and its damage to your primary target is increased by an additional 15%.
- 4 pieces: Blade Rush's cooldown is reduced by 6 sec, and it increases your damage dealt by 5% for 8 sec.
Subtlety:
- 2 pieces: Finishing moves deal 1.5% more damage per combo point spent.
- 4 pieces: Shadow Blades has 4.0 sec increased duration and causes your attacks to deal an additional 6.0% damage as Shadow.

Shaman: Mantle of the Primal Core
The Mantle of the Primal Core set is very in-tune with the class fantasy because it looks like it's made of molten elements that are still red hot. I don’t really know how else to describe it, but the elemental theme seems to be the goal here, and they nailed it.
This set enhances the elemental power of Shamans, making you more potent in damage, healing, and utility. Here’s how each spec benefits from the bonuses:
Elemental:
- 2 pieces: Casting Stormkeeper grants 15% haste for 10 sec.
- 4 pieces: Stormkeeper grants 1 additional stack and increases the damage of Lightning Bolt and Chain Lightning by 25%.
Enhancement:
- 2 pieces: Stormstrike deals 15% increased damage, and Lava Lash deals 15% increased damage.
- 4 pieces: Crash Lightning weapon enhancement effect additionally increases your Mastery by 2%.
Restoration:
- 2 pieces: Unleash Life's cooldown is reduced by 3 sec, and its direct healing is increased by 100%.
- 4 pieces: Unleash Life affects an additional spell cast at 100% effectiveness.

Warlock: Reign of the Abyssal Immolator
For Warlocks, the Reign of the Abyssal Immolator set barely contains the fel magic. It's just Fel Unchained. The set features a full demon mask helmet, runes, and lots of chains as if you were a Fel demon locked in your own body who is just starting to break free. There are a lot of fractures and cracks all over the armor as if your inner demon is about to jump out and break free.
This set is all about increasing your damage potential, whether through damage-over-time effects or big burst spells. Here's how each spec benefits:
Affliction:
- 2 pieces: Unstable Affliction and Seed of Corruption damage increased by 10%.
- 4 pieces: Agony starts at 2 additional stacks, and its damage is increased by 20%.
Demonology:
- 2 pieces: Hand of Gul'dan damage increased by 15%.
- 4 pieces: Your Dreadstalkers deal 10% increased damage and last 3 additional seconds.
Destruction:
- 2 pieces: Chaos Bolt and Rain of Fire damage increased by 5%.
- 4 pieces: Conflagrate generates 2 additional Soul Shard fragments, and its damage is increased by 10%.

Warrior: Rage of the Night Ender
The Rage of the Night Ender set for Warriors in Season 1 combines humongous mammoth tusks and metal plates. It’s another set that I’m sure was inspired by the Monster Hunter series. The colored glow coming out of the tusks and from inside the helmet makes it interesting, too, but other than the tusks, this set doesn’t have much more going on for it.
This set is perfect for maximizing damage or tanking abilities, depending on your spec. Here’s how each spec benefits from the bonuses:
Arms:
- 2 pieces: Mortal Strike and Cleave damage increased by 5%. Colossus Smash increases damage taken by an additional 5%.
- 4 pieces: Damaging a target affected by Colossus Smash with Mortal Strike or Cleave that hits 3 or more targets extends Colossus Smash's effect on them by 1 sec.
Fury:
- 2 pieces: Rampage damage increased by,10% and Odyn's Fury damage increased by 10%.
- 4 pieces: Rampage reduces the cooldown of Odyn's Fury by 2.5 sec, and Odyn's Fury damage is increased by an additional 10%.
Protection:
- 2 pieces: Shield Slam damage increased by 10%, and Shield Charge damage increased by 100%.
- 4 pieces: Thunder Clap and Revenge damage increased by 10%, and Shield Charge grants Revenge!
