ARC Raiders Turbine Boss Guide

The rumored boss ARC isn’t what the community calls a Baron, but instead a completely new type of ARC that bears visual semblance to Shredders. It can deal some serious damage, but it also isn’t that hard to deal with if you stick to the right strategy. In this ARC Raiders Turbine boss guide, I’m gonna explain how to destroy it, what rewards it drops, and the best loadout to do it.

ARC Raiders Turbine Boss Guide Quick Summary:

  • Turbine is a massive flying ARC boss found only on Riven Tides.
  • Its key drop is the Turbine Compressor, needed for Avian Alarm progression and for Powered Descender craft.
  • Turbine Spawns around the 15-minute mark.
  • There are two strategies you can use to destroy the Turbine. One is shooting it from afar with Jupiter. Another is close-quarter combat with Bettina and Deadline mines.
  • Jupiter, Equalizer, Bettina, and Deadline work best against it.
  • Use hard cover to survive its self-homing missile barrage. Attack it only when it stops firing at you.

How to Kill Turbine in ARC Raiders

Either Turbine truly isn’t that hard to deal with, or maybe the community found out the best strategy really fast. Either way, Turbine is the easiest full-blown boss ARC. It’s not as dangerous as Matriarch or a Queen,  but it does an insane amount of damage and can easily kill you in mere seconds if you’re not careful enough. The Turbine usually appears on the map in the second half of the raid, around the 13-16 minute mark. If it doesn’t spawn during that time gap for you, tough luck. Return to Speranza and try again. There are multiple ways you can destroy Turbine. I’ll give you three strategies to deal with it.

Best Strategy to Destroy Turbine in ARC Raiders

To destroy Turbine in ARC Raiders, all you need to do is just break through its armor and shoot its underbelly. In a way, it kinda looks like a huge Shredder, so the strategy is the same. It’s also as dangerous to get into its vicinity, at least while it’s flying. Here’s the best strategy to kill Turbine in ARC Raiders:

  • Take Very High Armor Penetration: Turbine has huge protective armor plates that constantly rotate, making it harder to focus on one part. Community’s testing has shown quite quickly that the best weapons to deal with Turbine are Jupiter, Bettina (finally some use), or even an Equalizer
  • Find Cover: A building with doors is the best, as the Turbine shoots lightning projectiles that deal damage in the area and might even get you through the walls if you’re not careful enough. Don’t even think about encountering it out in the open. It’ll kill you faster than you can say “my Jupiter!”
  • Peek Between the Attacks: The easiest way to kill a Turbine in ARC Raiders is to simply play hide and seek with it. However, it is easier said than done cause if Turbine is aggroed, it will bombard you almost non-stop, so you have to be extremely quick.

While this strategy is probably the most straightforward one, there’s an alternative strategy, closer to cheesing the boss than actually fighting it.

How to Cheese Turbine in ARC Raiders

This strategy works for now, and in my opinion, it’s one of the best ways to actually get Turbine’s loot safely. I don’t know how long it will remain unpatched or if it will even be patched at all. I can surely say that it’s the easiest boss cheese in the game. Of course, I’m gonna share it with you. Here’s how to cheese Turbine in ARC Raiders:

  1. Take Jupiter: Since Jupiter has an endless range, its damage doesn’t fall off with distance, plus it has overpenetration, which means it can break through multiple armor layers.
  2. Find an Open Area: Find a location that oversees a large portion of the map. There are a couple that work the best, like Hotel Panorama Azzurro’s rooftop or a hill north of Customs Houses. In my testing, though, the best location to fight Turbine is Azzurro Beach.
  3. Works Only on Long Range: You want to attack the furthest Turbine from you in order for this to work, cause otherwise it’ll just start shooting you with its lightning rockets.

This strategy requires more ammo than the previous one, but it keeps you safe at all times, unless you’re attacked by other Raiders. But that’s true for every other boss in the game, so ideally you either want your friend to cover your back, but in this case you’re almost guaranteed to be attacked, or in solos, persuade a random into helping you deal with Turbine by covering your back and sharing the loot then.

How to Kill Turbine without Jupiter

The third and final strategy is close-quarter combat. Yes, I said that it’s extremely dangerous to stay in close quarters with it, but if you’re lucky enough to have it land next to some sort of covered building, you can pull this off. In order to do it, you’ll need Bettina or Deadlines. Bet you didn’t expect to see Bettina being useful for once, huh? Here’s how to kill Turbine without Jupiter:

  • The strategy is pretty simple. Once Turbine lands, it plants landmines to protect its soft yellow underbelly. The landmines aren’t that hard to avoid, and they don’t deal big damage (yet). The landmines activate at a range of 10 meters.
  • While Turbine is on the ground, it doesn’t attack you and is almost defenseless. This state doesn’t last for long once it discovers that it is attacked. As soon as you close the distance, you either shoot the yellow cylinders protected by a weaker armor, or get close to it and plant the Deadline.

I’ve found the Deadline strategy to be far more effective, but the problem here is that it can be hard to get it back to land. I’d recommend planting the mine, shooting it with Bettina, and then hiding in some closed building and waiting until he drops the aggro. Repeat until the machine’s dead.

Turbine Attacks

This boss doesn’t have the widest variety of attacks. In fact, it has just two of them:

  1. Self-Homing Lightning Rockets: Turbine launches a ball that splits into multiple rockets that pursue the closest targets. They then explode and electrocute you, dealing massive damage. One such rocket can break full blue shields and wipe half of your HP.
  2. Landmines: As mentioned above, when the Turbine lands, it scatters mines around it. Mines don’t deal a lot of damage and serve more as an alarm to warn the Turbine. If you explode on one of the mines, I advise rushing towards the Turbine in order not to miss the damage window.

I’m not fully certain that these are all the attacks that Turbine has, but from my three attempts at killing it, it never did anything beyond that. If I find new attacks, I’ll update this section.

Turbine Weak Points

Turbine has two weak points, one of which is the yellow canisters that show when it’s landed. To damage them, you have to either get close to the Turbine or break the big armor plates when it’s flying, which takes forever, and with Jupiter, you destroy the canisters faster than you break these plates.

The other weak spot is the top of its… Head? Obviously, just having the higher ground won’t work here as this ARC flies, but you can ride it if you find a way to get on it using Snap Hook, or a new gadget that you can only get after you kill a few Turbines. Let me tell you about the gadget in the next section.

Turbine Rewards

Turbine doesn’t have any legendary materials, unlike other boss ARCs, though it is a boss, and it’s much stronger and bigger than other major ARCs like Vaporizer or Bombardier. Here are all Turbine rewards in ARC Raiders:

  • Advanced ARC Powercell
  • ARC Alloy
  • ARC Flex Rubber
  • ARC Motion Core
  • Launcher Ammo
  • Turbine Compressor

The only unique loot that it drops is the Turbine Compressor, which you need 2 of to complete the final stage of the Avian Alarm project, or to craft a new Powered Descender gadget that lets you drop slowly to avoid fall damage completely. The blueprint for Powered Descender doesn’t drop from the Turbine itself and can be found on the Riven Tides map. I gotta say it’s a pretty frequent drop, so you should have no problem getting one.

Best Loadout for Turbine Fight

Despite being somewhat of a middle ground between major ARCs and full ARC bosses, Turbine is no joke and requires preparation on par with that of Matriarch and Queen. I’m pretty comfortable saying that this is the boss ARC for solo players, as you can get it down on your own. To support this theory, there are multiple Turbine spawns on the map, which is not the case with full bosses, plus you don’t need to wait for a separate map condition to dish it out. It just randomly spawns on Riven Tides. Still, it’s a very serious encounter, and here’s the best loadout for Turbine fight:

Type

Name

Explanation

Weapons

Primary: Jupiter/Equalizer/Bettina.

Secondary: Any weapon you’re comfortable PvPing with.

On average, it takes around 60 shots from Jupiter to take down a Turbine. Take 12-14 energy clips to have enough. You won’t need that much on Equalizer, as you’ll use it as an armor breaker. Take like 6-8 energy clips.

Grenades

Deadline

Wolfpack or other nades won’t do anything to it. I’ve seen people put laser mines, predicting where it lands, but that feels like a gamble rather than an actual strategy.

Healing

Blue bandages or Healing Spray, lots of shield rechargers.

Turbine’s attacks chew through your health like no tomorrow, so bring lots of healing items.

Augment

Looting Mk. 3 (Safekeeper), Tactical Mk. 3 (Defensive)

Safekeeper will allow you to quickly stow away your legendary Primary if the fight goes south. The Tactical Mk. 3 is there to restore your shields if you run out of shield rechargers cause it has an integrated one.

Utility

Barricade/Snap Hook/Powered Descender

A barricade can somewhat help you to avoid the damage if you get caught in the open. Snap Hook and Powered Descender are for aggressive plays if you decide to climb on top of the Turbine and place mines.

Raiding the Turbine requires some pretty rare equipment, so if you can’t craft them, try our ARC Raiders Blueprints service and get the blueprints for the equipment you really need. Remember, preparation is key when fighting bosses, so take your time, think your strategy beforehand, and, what’s more important, be mentally prepared for the fight.
