ARC Raiders Weapon Amplification Guide Quick Overview:
- Weapon Amplification is a level 5 weapon upgrade that offers powerful boosts or unique features. So far, the game allows 15 different weapons to be amplified.
- Amplification features branching perk trees, making some powerful upgrades incompatible with each other.
- Amplifying a weapon requires using a special item called an Amplification Module, which is placed in a special weapon socket.
You probably want to start crafting gear for the new season right away, but are locked behind the Blueprint requirement. Get the best out of the game with Skycoach’s ARC Raiders Blueprints.

What are Weapon Amplifications in ARC Raiders?

Added with the Frozen Trail update, Weapon Amplification is a new system that enables players to upgrade their weapons to a fifth quality level, which offers some powerful boosts or completely new features. The devs state that the main goal here is to add more late-game personalization and variety.
Each Weapon Amplification is designed to provide a modification tree with at least two different chains to choose from. It works just about how you would expect:
- Picking a perk in a chain enables you to pick the next one in the same chain.
- Some chains are exclusive, locking you out of alternative Amplification chains.
So, with some weapons, you have to stick with what fits your playstyle best and fully commit to it. It is worth noting that the Amplification trees are currently rather small, with just two to three chains featuring one or two perks each on average.
However, the Amplifications themselves range wildly. Some of them seem to be just reasonable upgrades of the existing weapon — say, improving the reload speed. Others are there to completely rebuild the weapon — like turning a traditional pistol into an SMG.
Finally, some options are there to repurpose the gun rather than directly upgrade it — like turning the weapon’s projectiles into tracking shots that allow you to see your enemies for a short time. Maybe you would prefer having that on certain maps, for example.
How to Amplify a Weapon
The process hasn’t been fully uncovered by the developers yet. From what we know so far, amplifying a weapon requires a fully upgraded Research Workstation in your Outpost. You will also need an Amplification Module, which is a new item that can be added to a special socket in your gun.
Weapon Amplification List
So far, ARC Raiders allows you to amplify 15 different weapons, but the team aims to add more guns to this list in the future. At the moment, Embark shared the Amplification trees for four weapons, so we’ll cover them in the article. However, when the Frozen Trail update goes live and I can gather all the information on other Amplifications, I will update the guide to include the full list.
Burletta

Burletta shows off just how crazy the Amplifications can be. Even something like Burst Fire is going to overhaul your entire play pattern, but Full-Auto is just a nuts option that will make this weapon feel like an entirely different beast. If this is how Embark chooses to proceed with the game, we will all end up with more guns per gun, which is all I could ever ask for.

Hairpin

Hairpin is a good representative of the Exclusive Amplification design, making you stick to a certain set of choices and always missing out on some other opportunities. You can use Hairpin as a cool scouting tool, or you can focus on dealing more damage through the Burn mechanic, but not both. My only hope is that one doesn’t turn out to be massively more useful than the other because I want to see some actual variety in my games.

Rattler

Having an option to get faster reloads is huge for Rattler, and it’s quite a cool workaround that affects its small magazine in an interesting way. You still have to deal with it, it’s just that dealing with it is not as debilitating. However, if you hate the magazine size to the point that you don’t even bother using Rattler, the devs give you a fresh new option — sacrifice half of what makes the gun efficient to increase your magazine size by 40 — which is a lot.
So far, these types of perks are my favorites, because they genuinely feel impactful and force you to adapt. If it weren’t for these, Amplifications would feel like a shallow addition that would only keep you in the game for a short while.

Renegade

Renegade is an example of a different approach from the development team. There aren’t any particular choices that require you to make any sacrifices to significantly change your experience with the gun. Instead, Amplifying Renegade simply means making it a bit more useful and convenient thanks to improved reload time — which was one of its key weaknesses — and a new scope.
That said, the difference between using a scoped weapon versus shooting without it is quite noticeable from a personal perspective, even if the in-game numbers that dictate Renegade’s behavior aren’t affected by it in any way. I definitely recommend checking it out and not shelving it for the future.

F.A.Q.
What is Weapon Amplification in ARC Raiders?
Weapon Amplification is a new system that enables you to upgrade your weapon to level 5. This upgrade comes with its own perk tree for each individual weapon. Think of it as an endgame feature that exists to help you add some variety and try out new ways to use familiar weapons.
What do I need to Amplify a weapon in ARC Raiders?
Weapon Amplification requires having a fully upgraded Research Workstation in your Outpost as well as an Amplification Module. Your weapon also needs to have all of the previous upgrades installed.
How many Weapon Amplifications are in ARC Raiders?
So far, there are 15 weapons that have an Amplification option, but Embark promises to expand on the system later. Each weapon has its own perk tree, with a varying number of options. Some weapons have as few as two perks, others can have four — although some perks are mutually exclusive.
What are Exclusive Amplifications in ARC Raiders?
Exclusive Weapon Amplifications are perks that cannot be used simultaneously with other Exclusive perks. For example, Amplified Hairpin can use either Incendiary Rounds or Tracker Rounds, but not both at the same time. Embark added this limitation to keep the game more balanced and provide some personalization — you are free to choose your own unique playstyle.
