D2 Pantheon 2.0 Consecrated Mind Strategy

Pantheon is now a permanent addition to the game as of 9.7.0. Pantheon’s version of Consecrated Mind is not the same as the old Garden of Salvation boss fight. This version combines the Conflux encounter with the Consecrated Mind boss. It’s a part of Morgeth Surpassing, along with Warpriest and Morgeth himself. Apart from Morgeth Surpassing, there’s also The Gauntlet, where you fight all 6 bosses, and Insurrection Prime, and Calus Resplendent, where you encounter Argos, Galhran and Calus. In this version of the Consecrated Mind fight, you are defending Confluxes, refreshing Enlightened, collecting Voltaic Motes, and dealing with the boss at the same time. Not like the original fight wasn’t a headache. The arena has five Confluxes. There is one near the starting area, one on the left, one on the right, one across the map, and one in the middle. Your main goal is to stop Vex from sacrificing themselves while your runner collects enough Voltaic Motes to overload the middle relay and start the DPS phase. The easiest strategy is to have five players defend Confluxes and one player act as the runner. Each Conflux defender has three main jobs:
- Keep Vex away from the Conflux
- Refresh Enlightened when needed
- Call out yellow-bar Hobgoblins and boss spit
The runner moves around the map, collects Voltaic Motes from the yellow-bar Hobgoblins, and deposits them into the middle Conflux. This player needs to be mobile and know how to use portals because they’ll be going all over the place while everyone else is trying not to let Vex sacrifice. The fight is not that hard, but it will get awkward, and someone will definitely fumble a few times. Luckily, the mistakes can be fixed quickly enough, though only if you know what you’re doing. My advice is to choreograph the encounter a few times. The wipes usually happen because someone didn’t protect their Conflux well enough, so please come prepared. If enough Vex sacrifice, the team wipes. Now let’s talk about each section of the encounter in detail.
Getting Enlightened
Some Vex enemies have white immunity shields. To kill them, you will need the Enlightened buff. You get Enlightened by making a tether connection from a box to a Conflux. Before you can use the tether box, you usually need to kill an Angelic, which is just a Hydra under a different name, near that Conflux. Once the Angelic dies, the box unlocks. Shoot the box, then stand in the tether line and connect it to the Conflux. Everyone involved in that tether gets Enlightened for about a minute. Be sure to stand close enough to each other! It doesn’t mean that you have to step on someone’s toe, but don’t stand too far away. You can notice that you’re too far cause the line will turn red. If the line turns red, it means the connection is about to fail. Just stay calm and follow the raid leader's calls. Destiny tether mechanics are already cursed enough.
Refreshing Enlightened
In a normal raid encounter, refreshing Enlightened would require players to move between Confluxes or have a runner visit them. In the Pantheon 2.0 version of this encounter, there is a much simpler way to do it. When the text says that the undergrowth subsides, everyone defending a Conflux should go to their local tether box and attach to it.
At the same time, the middle player and the runner complete a two-person tether to the middle Conflux. If done correctly, everyone who is attached to their own box gets Enlightened refreshed at the same time. This is the best way to handle the encounter. It keeps everyone on the same timer and stops the runner from having to babysit five different people like it’s a kindergarten field trip.
If an Angelic Hydra spawns and locks your tether box, kill it immediately. Usually, the runner stops to help you clear the Vex a little, so they might be near you when the Angelic spawns. Bear in mind that you cannot refresh Enlightened while the box is locked, and that can instantly snowball into shielded Vex sacrificing at your Conflux.

Voltaic Motes and Runner Job
Yellow-bar Hobgoblins spawn around the arena and drop Voltaic Motes. If you see one near your Conflux, call it out. The runner should come through the portal, kill the Hobgoblin or help finish it, collect the Motes, and take them to the middle Conflux. The runner keeps doing this until enough Motes are deposited. Once the middle Conflux is charged, you’ll see the message that Consecrated Mind is drawn to an overloaded relay. That means the DPS phase is coming soon, so stop what you’re doing and head to the middle.
Consecrated Mind Spit Mechanic
While all of this is happening, Consecrated Mind will move around the arena and spit on the ground. When this happens, someone needs to step into the spit puddle. Yeah, I know how that sounds, but that’s how you call it. The boss will open up and show red circles on three appendages. The callout is either inner or outer. Shoot the three red glowing circles that match the callout. One cracked player can solo this, but I recommend having a second player help, because missing this mechanic is a very stupid way to wipe. The player who steps into the spit gets Voltaic Overflow for over two minutes. This means they cannot do the same mechanic again until the debuff runs out. Rotate players for this and call out if you can’t pick the debuff anymore.
DPS Phase
When Consecrated Mind reaches the overloaded middle relay, everyone should group in the center. The boss will open up and show a bunch of red circles. Shoot all of them first. Use primary ammo here if possible. Wasting heavy before DPS even starts is not ideal. After the eyes are destroyed, the boss starts backing away. This is your DPS window. Use long-range precision damage. Divinity is super useful here since it gives everyone an easier crit spot. At least one person in the fireteam should have it. Without it, landing shots can be difficult. For the best Consecrated Mind Pantheon loadout, I recommend:
- Divinity for the crit bubble
- Refurbished A499 for precision damage
- Queenbreaker or Whisper of the Worm as classic long-range options
- Leviathan’s Breath for Void Hunters
- Golden Gun with Celestial Nighthawk
- Thundercrash with Cuirass of the Falling Star
- Well of Radiance, just in case
If you didn’t finish the Consecrated Mind in one go, you just start again and repeat the same steps all over. Defend Confluxes, refresh Enlightened, collect Voltaic Motes, step into the spit, overload the middle relay, and damage Consecrated Mind until it finally dies.
