Clash Royale Legendary Cards Ranked

There is a total of 21 legendary cards ranked in this Clash Royale list. Some of them you might never see in a ladder. Others are so prevalent that you’d wish you had one too. When rating the cards, we’ve taken several factors into account. How popular the card is, i.e., usage rate. Versatility, or how much this card can do. Finally, the meta relevance, or how strong it is currently compared to other cards. Let’s first take a look at the current top 10 legendary cards of Clash Royale:

Name Usage Rate Description
1. The Log 29.28% The best legendary card in the 2025 meta for Clash Royale. Destroying swarms, pushing the troops, and gaining positive elixir trades. For just 2 elixir, you get the craziest value.
2. Miner

7.52%

The most versatile unit. Reliable damage, many ways to use it too! Tanking, doing tower damage, destroying elixir collectors, you name it. All of that for 3 elixir is insane. Fits in every deck and is practically unnerfable, unless the developers rework him.
3. Graveyard 3.52% The biggest problem with getting rid of this card is the fact that the skeletons spawn in random locations. It really needs a nerf, but it's so strong there's no reason not to use it.
4. Ice Wizard 5.84% Although his slowdown effect has been nerfed, it's not that serious. Defensive monster, as it's nigh impossible to get a positive elixir trade on it.
5. Mega Knight 2.08% Both regular and Evo versions are terrorizing the mid-to-high ladder. It's a card that's been prevalent across all metas. On his own, he can destroy the Beatdown pushes.
6. Princess 4.72% No skill required to play this card, just put it near the bridge and watch every card fail to attack. Unless you're playing a cycle deck, it's hard to stop her. Imagine spending your good cards just to finish her off. You'll have to do that, as her damage is just too crazy.
7. Royal Ghost 3.60% Evo Royal Ghost is finally here, and it's strong. Same as Bandit, he's great at baiting spells and pressuring your opponent. Great at having positive elixir trades, as it can turn invisible and sneak up to the opponent's Princess tower.
8. Bandit 6.80% One of the most lowkey strong cards. The dashes on it are a good way to put pressure on your opponent. It's a good bait, too. For just 3 elixir, it's a must-have in Bridge Spam decks.
9. Inferno Dragon 3.20% Best air troop as of now. Both Evo and regular versions are crazy good. Counters Beatdown pushes instantly, and it can oneshot units!
10. Electro Wizard 8.72% Quite a popular card right now, as it counters Evo Baby Dragon and Evo Furnace. Now, both of these cards are nerfed, and Electric Wizard is in a kind of limbo state. Still an extremely useful card. Stuns, pushes, multi-targeting. Tons of value just for one card.

That splits out list in two. Now we move on to the lower half of the list with cards that are not as good. They are either out of meta or heavily nerfed. Some of them are still pretty usable, though, so don't write them off. BLOG20

Name Usage Rate Description
11. Fisherman 5.76% After the toxic Goblin Giant deck has been nerfed, Fisherman can now return to the meta. It's a part of the Royal Giant deck, so it will perform well in this meta. Fisherman is very versatile, as it is good in both offense and defense. He can change the cards' positions. It can drag the card for your King Tower to help finish it off. It can also move the enemy card out of your win condition's way.
12. Lumberjack 2.72% The regular version is trash, Evo is good. The Skellies Evo counters the Lumberjack pretty hard. Since Beatdown decks got nerfed, this card is in a bad state. The card itself is quite good, which explains its middle-of-the-list ranking.
13. Lava Hound 2% It was countered by just one card in the previous meta. The Baby Dragon. Now that Baby Dragon is being nerfed, we might see the return of this card. LavaLoon promises to be strong in this meta, so keep an eye out.
14. Goblin Machine 0,64% After a recent nerf, its rockets don't deal enough damage. It's also much easier to kill now. Can't say it's undeserved, as this card was too OP. Don't expect it to return to the meta any time soon.
15. Ram Rider 2.64% Same story as with most cards on the lower half of the list. Had a series of nerfs and is now in oblivion. Not even direct ones: all the cards that had a charge mechanic to them got nerfed, too. The developers said they will buff the card in the future, though.
16. Sparky 3% It was used in Goblin Giant pretty heavily, but this deck got nerfed to the ground. Since then, Sparky has been unused. It's also very slow and easy to counter.
17. Mother Witch 5% Not a terrible card. Where she suffers is her versatility. She's only viable against one archetype, and that's Graveyard. Evo Valkyrie and Fireball counter it hard.
18. Spirit Empress 1.44% Nerfs destroyed it. It used to be really broken, not so long ago. Vines counters it too hard, although with their nerf, we might see her coming back.
19. Magic Archer 2.80% The biggest problem for it is the Fireball and Poison. It's a 4 elixir, but there are many better options in this bracket. To add to the list of problems, it has a high skill ceiling.
20. Night Witch 2.72% Despite Night Witch combining well with the Golem deck, it doesn't use it at all! No surprise, given her very low HP and bad spawning. She's the worst card for Beatdown decks. No balance changes for 2 years. Fireball and Poison destroy it.
21. Phoenix 1.20% Poor guy. Zero balancing in the last two years. This is basically a dead card. Really weak, zero meta presence. It can revive itself, but the egg dies in a couple of hits as well.

Bear in mind that just having a legendary doesn’t mean that you’d win. There are multiple meta decks that don’t rely on them. Consider them powerful tools that raise your winrate, but don’t overflow your deck with them. The most important thing in cards is their combo potential.

Clash Royale Best Legendaries for Beginners

The beginner cards usually either teach you something about the game or have a low skill ceiling. They should also be easily available or acquired. Another factor is that you shouldn’t invest resources in them to make them good. With all those conditions in mind, there aren’t that many cards that fit the mold. These are the cards we thought of as the best legendaries for beginners in Clash Royale:

  • The Log: Can’t go wrong with it. It’s always useful, easy to get, and very easy to use.
  • Miner: Works in nearly every deck. It is also less punishing to use this card, as it has a low elixir cost. Great for learning how to do chip damage and positioning.
  • Electro Wizard: Strong counterplay to many cards. It stuns, has great offense and defense. If you need a card that does many things but don’t want to upgrade multiple different cards, this one is perfect.
  • Ice Wizard: Very strong defense. Having it gives you more room to learn. It gives you space to think of the next decision.

These cards are all good because they’re versatile, which makes you experiment more. They provide great value because they play different roles. They have a lower skill ceiling, but simultaneously teach you how to play. Genuinely, these cards are what you need to learn the fundamentals of the game in order to dominate it later. These legendary cards are worth unlocking the first in Clash Royale, since they always remain useful.

Conclusion

Now that you understand the peculiarities of each legendary in the game, try experimenting. Even if the card is bad in the meta right now, that doesn’t mean there are no good combos. Unfortunately, legendary cards don’t work that well with each other, so think wider. Look for the other 100 cards and think. In the future, we will release some more guides about other cards as well. Stay tuned for that and good luck in the ladder!
