Duet Night Abyss Character Tier List

Duet Night Abyss seems to be a game-changer when it comes to free-to-play gacha games, as it allows you to gather all characters and weapons for free, without relying on your luck. In this article, we present the Duet Night Abyss character tier list. It’ll help you understand who to unlock and upgrade first.

Find out the Duet Night Abyss Character Tier List

While Duet Night Abyss might seem like a gacha game at first glance, it's actually not. At least not fully. It's closer to Warframe in how you can unlock various characters and weapons for free. Another way the game is clearly inspired by Warframe is its combat and movement, providing exhilarating, vertigo-inducing traversal across a semi-open world. Having the best Duet Night Abyss characters means building your character right and choosing the right weapons and modifiers for them. All of the potential for weapon freedom, loadout flexibility, and Demon Wedge customization makes even the lowest-ranked characters viable in any content if built right. Here, we will focus on their performance potential, consistency in dealing damage or supporting, and their compatibility with each other, rather than raw stats.

If you want to unleash the full potential of your favorite characters, try our Duet Night Abyss Trial Rank Leveling.

Duet Night Abyss Best Characters Tier List

Let us first explain what logic we follow when making a tier list. With no character gacha and no stamina system, Duet Night Abyss prioritizes mastery over your luck in getting the current overtuned character. Some characters simply scale better with weapons, modifiers, and movement. Those are the ones worth prioritizing. Look at the criteria for Duet Night Abyss tier list:

  1. Damage Scaling: How well the character operates with multiple weapon types.
  2. Compatibility: Synergy with Demon Wedges and elemental effects.
  3. Outplay: This is based on the character's mobility and survivability in practice.
  4. Consistency: The way the character is able to perform across solo and co-op content.
  5. Simplicity: How easy it is to build the character into endgame viability.

If you don’t have an S or A-tier character, don't worry, as they're still very useful. There aren't truly weak characters. Each has something to offer. Let's move on to our Duet Night Abyss best characters tier list:

Tier DPS Support
S-Tier Lynn, Rebecca, Rhythm, Psyche, Lady Nifle, Lisbell Tabethe, Truffle and Filbert, Fina, Fushu
A-Tier Berenica, Outsider, Phantasio, Hellfire, Kezhou Daphne, Protagonist
B-Tier Sybille, Yale, and Oliver Randy, Margie (Support)
C-Tier Margie  -

These characters excel at general activities such as Commissions, MSQs, and Sidequests. They handle large groups of enemies well and have a comfortable playstyle. Now, what if you want to farm bosses? Take a gander at the Duet Night Abyss best characters for boss farm:

Tier DPS Support
S-Tier Psyche, Kezhou, Lady Nifle, Lisbell Truffle and Filbert, Fina, Fushu
A-Tier Lynn, Phantasio, Rebecca, Rhythm, Yale, and Oliver Daphne, Tabethe, Protagonist
B-Tier Berenica, Outsider, Sibylle Margie (Support)
C-Tier Hellfire, Margie Randy

The characters presented here work best against single targets and deal massive bursts of damage. SPOILERS AHEAD! This will be useful when fighting new bosses, such as Colossus Threshold, Zhuyin, and Yuming.

Rebecca - Best All-Around DPS

Rebecca is a Hydro DPS character with proficiency in Polearm and Grenade Launchers. Widely considered to be the best Duet Night Abyss character in the game. Her weapons alone make her extremely useful in clearing mobs, but when you add her skills to the equation, she simply becomes OP.

  • Skill: Aurelian Caress - Summons up to 3 Aurelia Auritas, which inherit 100% of her stats, continuously doing Hydro damage to enemies.
  • Ultimate: Lada Lovedew - Deals Hydro Damage. The damage is increased based on the number of Poison of Love stacks on the enemies. BLOG20
  • Passive: Truelove Trial - Each damage dealt with a melee attack or by Aurelia Auritas applies 1 stack of Poison of Love, up to 6 stacks. The Poison of Love deals Hydro Damage once every 2 seconds. When the enemy dies, they transfer the effect onto the nearest enemy.

A very simple and straightforward DPS character that deals equally well with bosses and mob waves. She's very reliable and consistent at clearing any type of content. She is especially great with survival and defense missions. Absolute best character for farming materials, too. Maximize her Skill stats with Demon Wedges to fully unleash her potential. Pair her up with Tabethe and Fushu as support characters to make her summons do the work.

Lady Nifle - Most Rewarding DPS

Lady Nifle is a Lumino DPS with proficiency in Katanas and Pistols. She's able to deal lots of damage, especially with her passive. We recommend upgrading the Skill Range and focusing on Trigger Probability on range weapons to further improve her. Her skills benefit from these stats:

  • Skill: Lunar Hunt/Solar Eclipse - A switching skill that starts as Lunar Hunt. Upon using it, it deals Umbro damage within range and reduces the enemies' movement speed. Solar Eclipse deals Lumino damage and reduces the enemy's Attack stat.
  • Ultimate: Misty Sea Requiem - It's basically a Devil Trigger of sorts. Makes Lady Nifle stronger and converts her Skill Range into Skill Damage if it exceeds 100%. During the active time, changes how her skills work. Both Lunar Hunt and Solar Eclipse cost no sanity. Lunar Hunt pulls enemies towards its center, and Solar Eclipse does increased damage. Ends after 6 casts of Lunar Hunt or Solar Eclipse.
  • Passive: Interwoven Cries - Based on the ranged weapon Trigger Probability. When casting Lunar Hunt, you have a chance to also spawn a Solar Eclipse, which can also spawn another Lunar Hunt. There's no synergy with Misty Sea Requiem, as LH/SE summoned this way do not have extra effects applied to them.

Just like Rebecca, she does a great deal of damage with her Skills. She can also debuff and control enemies within her range. Sanity is extremely important to her, as without it, she can't cast her skills. She's not that good in the initial stages of the game, but with Intron 6 unlocked, she becomes a true powerhouse. Just like with Rebecca, combine her with Tabethe and Fushu for an extra kick.

Lisbell - Best AoE DPS

Lisbell is also a Lumino DPS. Her proficiency is Greatsword/Shotgun. She is an AoE-centered character, but despite that, her ultimate ability makes her good against bosses, too. She might be a little overpowered, though. You can get her from Mystic Maze. She is viable throughout all stages of the game. Pair her up with Fina and Fushu to increase her ulti's damage.

  • Skill: In the Name of Patience - Jumps forward and does AoE Lumino damage 3 times along the way and then deals more AoE damage with the final slam.
  • Ultimate: That's It - Changes her melee weapon to Samael. Samael can use a devastating charge attack which deals more damage the longer it charges. Upon release, it deals AoE Lumino damage to enemies in front of her. While charging the Samael, she becomes immune to hitstun and takes less damage thanks to Impatience buff, which generates Combo points every 0.5 seconds, further increasing damage dealt by the charge attack.
  • Passive: Hmph! - Strongly tied to Combo level. When the Combo level is increased, she deals Lumino damage to enemies around her and enhances Samael. Hitting higher Combo levels upgrades Samael to LV4. Beefed-up Samael gains increased Attack Range and Trigger Probability based on the enhancement level.

Lisbell is extremely good at being a mob clearer. All her skills are based around taking out large crowds of enemies, which is super easy to do thanks to her weapon's reach. Her effective damage is almost fully dictated by how long Samael can last. Increase her Skill Efficiency and Max Sanity stats to let it stay up longer.

Psyche - Best Ranged DPS

Psyche is an Anemo DPS who is proficient with Polearms and Assault Rifles. She's the best ranged character in Duet Night Abyss. Your DPS cycle revolves around your ultimate. Increase the Resolve stat, as her ulti drains HP. Since her ultimate is a state, it is also recommended to improve Skill Efficiency and Max Sanity.

  • Skill: Chrysalis Dreamwave - Oh boy, hold on as this skill is going to be really wordy. First of all, this skill can be used at any time without interrupting the current action. Psyche creates a copy of herself called Phantasm, which slows down surrounding enemies. After 5 seconds, it deals Anemo damage and then vanishes. If a new Phantasm is created, the previous one immediately deals damage and then vanishes. During her ultimate, when she enters a Flamboyance state, a skill is changed with Phototaxis. Phototaxis makes Psyche charge forward and release 16 Ethereal Powders, which automatically lock onto 1 enemy. They inflict 1 stack of Powder Stigma, up to 12 stacks. Powder Stigma makes the enemy receive Anemo damage if they are attacked by a ranged weapon while there are stacks on them.
  • Ultimate: Fluorescent Eclosion - Another ability that's sort of like a Devil Trigger. Psyche can now fly. While she's flying, she can only use skills and shoot. The Flamboyance state, as it is called, continuously drains Sanity. If Psyche has more than 15% of her HP, Flamboyance consumes HP instead of Sanity, which then converts into a shield.
  • Passive: Amberlight - Dealing crits buffs up Psyche with random stat boosts: ATK Boost, Skill Damage Boost, or Resolve Boost. It also increases the damage for each buff, up to 12 buffs.

Despite being so wordy and overcomplicated for no reason, her playstyle is actually pretty simple. She's a good ranged DPS that buffs herself up just by dealing damage. The main trick you have to learn is to keep up the passive buffs on 12 at all times. Other than that, she's really simple. Psyche is best paired with Truffle and Filbert, and Fina. Truffle buffs up Psyche's resolve stat, and Fina grants offensive buffs.

Truffle and Filbert - Best Healer

The Truffle and Filbert duo are the first support characters in our tier list. They are easily the best healer in Duet Night Abyss. They are proficient with... Well, does it matter? You won't use them as the main character anyway, but Truffle has proficiency in Polearms and Bows. She isn't good as an active hero, but she's insanely strong as a support character due to her healing potential. You want to build her around the HP stat, as her healing and damage dealt rely on it. Increase her Max Sanity as well, and you can also upgrade the Skill Duration and Efficiency to prolong the healing and buffs. There's another secret to her popularity as one of the most used characters in the game. It's her adorable pig.

  • Skill: Trotters Trot-Trot - Commands Filbert to charge forward, dealing Anemo damage. When this skill is used, it heals Truffle and Filbert and her nearby teammates and increases the damage they deal. When Truffle rides on Filbert, this skill is changed with Trotters Charge-Charge. It's a charge skill, which continuously consumes Sanity and deals Anemo damage to enemies on its way. Upon hitting an obstacle, Filber stops charging and deals AoE damage at the endpoint.
  • Ultimate: Tummy Full, Hands Full - Truffle hops on Filbert and gains 100 points of Passion for Work along with a Movement Speed boost. She deals Anemo damage to enemies along the way when moving. When riding Filbert, Truffle can't use any weapons but can command Filbert to attack. Using this skill again dismounts Truffle and unleashes the Trotters Trot-Trot. Speaking of Passion for Work. It's a skill that loses 5 points per second and restores 1 point when dealing damage upon knocking into a target. During Trotters Charge-Charge, this gauge isn't drained. When the gauge fully depletes, Truffle dismounts and launches Trotters Trot-Trot.
  • Passive: Chop-Chop, Commisaries! - You gain 1 stack of Heavyweight for every second Truffle is moving, up to 10 stacks. Heavyweight increases the damage you deal and decreases the damage you take.

A pretty tanky support that does a lot of healing and is fun to watch. She is best used in teams where 2 characters share the same element. While she seems like a joke character, she'll drag you out of the stickiest situations.

Fina - Best Offensive Support

Fina is a full support character. Unlike Truffle & Filbert, she's somewhat decent as an active character. She's proficient with Swords and Assault rifles. You have to know that she doesn't work well with Skill DMG characters, and she doesn't have any defensive capabilities. A full-on offensive supporter, she stacks the best with Weapon-centered DPS chars. You'd want to have a healing character with her, for instance aforementioned Truffle and Filbert. Focus on increasing the Sanity Restoration and Skill Duration stats, as you want to prolong the ultis uptime for as long as possible.

  • Skill: On a Warm Afternoon - Deals Lumino damage to enemies in front and cuts their Movement Speed. During the Boisterous Tea Party, using this skill moves the field to the user and expands its range to match the Boisterous Tea Party, and increases the damage.
  • Ultimate: Let the Tea Party Begin! - Creates a Boisterous Tea Party field in front of Fina. The Tea Party continuously consumes Sanity. During the Boisterous Tea Party, using this skill again will switch the effects in the following order: Nightingale, Hound, Unicorn, and Butterfly. Using the skill again outside of the Tea Party's range will relocate it to Fina's location. So about the Boisterous Tea Party. As you might've guessed, it creates an area corresponding to the Tea Party Guests element type. Nightingale is Hydro damage, Hound is Pyro, Unicorn is Electro, and Butterfly is Anemo damage. When the field appears or the element switches, Fina and her allies gain bonus elemental damage matching the field type. While the Tea Party is active, the field deals elemental damage to enemies within range.
  • Passive: Bad Sorcerers Hate Sunlight! - Gives her bonus Lumino damage that lasts throughout the battle. Each time her skill is used, grants 6 stacks of Taleweaver Quill. While the Boisterous Tea Party is active, generates 1 stack of Taleweaver Quill per second, up to 30 stacks. The Taleweaver Quill deals additional Lumino damage.

Her kit is kind of a pain to use on your own, but as a passive bonus damage it's second to none. Efficient both in boss fights and mob clear, the Boisterous Tea Party is one of the strongest skills in the game. While she doesn't heal and is mostly centered around damage, the buffs she grants are extremely strong.

Fushu - Best All-Around Support

Fushu is a well-rounded support, providing healing, Sanity restore, Skill DMG, and Speed. As a result, Fushu fits nearly any team composition. She's proficient with Whipsword and Bow. With her kit, she’s Duet Night Abyss best all-around support. Build as much Skill DMG as possible. Her Skill DMG buff scales directly with her own. Think about upgrading Sanity Restoration and Max Sanity stats as well.

  • Skill: Subcelestial Solace - This skill is somewhat similar to Rebecca's Aurelian Caress. Fushu summons up to 2 Yunchi that inherit 100% of her stats and deal Hydro damage to the nearest 5 enemies every second. Yunchi restores HP and Sanity for all nearby teammates every 2 seconds.
  • Ultimate: Holistic Harmony - Deals Hydro Damage to nearby enemies. Gives Fushu a shield and increases her Attack Speed. Her teammates also receive a shield and gain Nine-Needle Therapy. This buff increases Skill Damage by a percentage of Fushu's Skill Damage.
  • Passive: Archaeus Revival - Using a Skill or an Ultimate gains 1 stack that increases Skill Speed, up to 2 stacks. It doesn't matter if it's Fushu's skill or ulti, as this buff is applied when teammates use their skills too. The remaining time of this effect is refreshed with each new stack gained.

With a straightforward, simple kit, Fushu is easy to strategize around. She passively boosts your main character and another support, which makes her a great stat stick character that is just great to have around. She's almost always good in any team she's a part of.

Conclusion

As we mentioned before, all characters in the game can be played as active units to varying degrees of success. What you want to focus on are the support units, as they are usually the ones who are able to elevate a mediocre character to a great one. With our Duet Night Abyss character tier list 2026, you now know what options to pick. We've explained only some of the characters, which are the strongest in all content, but we encourage you to try others and to see what team combo you can come up with on your own.
