AION 2 Spiritmaster Class Guide Quick Overview:
- Spiritmaster is a ranged class focusing on DPS through various magic damage abilities as well as its summons.
- While summons are a major part of Spiritmaster’s kit, they are mostly there to empower you rather than vice versa. Most of the damage comes from your own abilities.
- Your best macro is all about cycling through all of your summons to get enough elemental charges to cast your direct damage spell called Elemental Fusion.

AION 2 Spiritmaster Class Overview

Spiritmaster is a ranged magical DPS class, with the key unique feature being elemental summons and various shenanigans associated with them. This might sound tricky at first, but playing Spiritmaster in practice is fairly straightforward, and most of its unique features will often feel like something that happens naturally without requiring too much of your attention.
All of your summons are fully autonomous, so you don’t have to control them directly at any point, although you will be able to trigger their abilities by using your own. Even then, however, many of their spells have huge AoE, so you don’t really have to worry about their or your positioning.
What we’ll cover mostly in this guide is PvE content, because Spiritmaster isn’t really well-suited for the competitive PvP environment in its current form. You will get outperformed by many other classes through no fault of your own, so I would recommend wasting no time and focusing fully on PvE.
Overall, I would say that the class design is in a bit of a weird spot, where it’s one of the most convoluted ones in terms of theoretical complexity, but is actually fairly simple to play well. Basically, reading this guide and getting the basics is the difficult part, while the rest is mostly a breeze.
How Spirits Work
Being called Spiritmaster for a reason, your character can summon four different elemental Spirits to their aid, with each of them having different unique abilities and effects. Don’t get your hopes too high — you cannot really summon all four of them on a constant basis, since each new summon replaces the previous one. The one that was summoned last will stay with you, though.
Now, each spirit has different abilities. To simplify it:
- Water Spirit has a single-target Water damage ability and also restores your mana on attack.
- Earth Spirit has a Taunt spell and increases Enmity on attack.
- Fire Spirit has an AoE damage spell and is overall best in terms of raw DPS.
- Wind Spirit has an AoE damage spell that restores Spiritmaster’s HP and also restores a percentage of Spiritmaster’s HP when an attack lands.
When you first summon a spirit, it immediately uses its ability, and it also has a chance to trigger said ability through autoattacks (15% for Fire and Water, 10% for Wind and Earth). Every time any Spirit uses its ability, you get one elemental status effect, and you will need to get Four Elements in order to cast one of your most important spells, Elemental Fusion, which deals a lot of damage at the cost of removing the Four Elements status.
Note that these elements don’t have to come from different sources — even if your Earth Spirit casts its spell four times, you will have the Four Elements status on you. However, it is way faster to just cycle through the Spirits to get it. Remember that once you’ve reached the Four Elements status, your Spirits’ abilities won’t provide any more stacks until you use the previous four, so the idea is to get rid of it as quickly as you can and get the new stacks to deal more DPS.
One of your Stigma abilities will also add a new Spirit to your rotation. Ancient Spirit is a unique part of your kit because it can coexist with other Spirits, although it lasts for only 30 seconds with a 90-second cooldown. Ancient Spirit has an AoE damage skill that it will repeatedly use after 7 or 5 basic attacks, depending on the skill level, and this skill also grants you the Four Elements status right away, which is going to be absolutely crucial for your rotation.
Best Spiritmaster Build in AION 2
The best current meta build relies on constantly shuffling Spirits to destroy enemies with Elemental Fusion. The passives are mostly there to increase DPS through conditional triggers, and the Stigmas are mostly buffs and debuffs to speed the process up.

Once again, this Spiritmaster build is PvE-oriented, and the whole purpose of it is to make you as efficient at getting through the content as possible, sometimes at the cost of some convenience.
If you would like to only press one or two buttons without having to think about several unique mechanics and interactions, Spiritmaster is not a great fit for you. However, if you do enjoy a bit of nuance as long as it’s not completely overwhelming, this class build is just what you need.
Spiritmaster Leveling Build
As with most other classes, leveling is incredibly basic early on. You have your Cold Shock as a way to restore MP while dealing damage, and you have your Combustion to deal more damage at the cost of MP. You will spend a lot of time right- and left-clicking enemies to get through the initial slog and earn some of the cooler abilities.
When you do that, you’ll have to focus on bringing your most important active skills to levels 8,12,16, and 20 to unlock Specialty points and make them even better — or completely change their utility. In some cases, Specialties aren’t as critical, but spells like Elemental Fusion, Dimensional Control, and Rapid Scattershot become significantly more powerful through obtaining these two or three upgrades.
Best Spiritmaster Skills and Specialties
Your damage comes from Elemental Fusion and Combustion, so these are going to be your priorities. Your Fire Spirit is your main companion throughout your journey, so it makes sense to level it appropriately as well. Cold Shock is there as a bit of additional damage as well as an MP restoration source.
Rapid Scattershot is mostly used as a utility tool for reducing some of your longer cooldowns. The rest of your skills aren’t as prioritized and will do fine even at levels 12 or 14.

Cold Shock
Cold Shock is your bread throughout early leveling, because it enables you to deal damage non-stop while actively restoring MP required for using other abilities. This skill’s usefulness lowers when you get to the mid- and late-game parts of AION 2, but even then it might be nice to weave it here and there to balance out your costly abilities. Aside from its MP generating capabilities, the spell is pretty basic, and you’ll get used to it right away.
Combustion
Combustion is your butter. With no cooldown, its only limitation is MP cost, and that’s why the game pairs it with Cold Shock right from the start. Unlike Cold Shock, however, Combustion is still offering some noticeable damage during later stages of the game, so you don’t fully discard it as a DPS option. A 12% bonus on solo targets is a very nice addition that makes it better in boss fights, so you will find yourself using it even when there are several other skills you need to cycle through.
Elemental Fusion
Elemental Fusion is what makes you so powerful, even if you have to do a lot of movements to adjust to its unique requirements. All it does is raw DPS, but the numbers are so good compared to the other options that you will rely on it to do most of the work against stronger enemies. To put it simply, the entire build and its rotation are designed around enabling you to spam Elemental Fusion, so press it whenever you see it available.
Some guides suggest specializing Elemental Fusion as an AoE spell, but I think that the tradeoff is not worth it, and the meta seems to agree with me. Also, you don’t really need it to deal with regular mobs on the map when you have your other abilities. Stick with it as a boss killer, and you’ll do well.
Summon Fire Spirit
Fire Spirit is likely going to be your favorite one aside from the Ancient Spirit, mostly because of its reliable damage output. Other Spirits might offer some interesting utility, and you might even occasionally rely on it, but most of the time all you want in almost any MMO is to just deal as much damage as you can to kill your targets before they can become a problem. Since Fire Spirit is the best at it, it deserves to be a bit higher on the list than the rest of the cast.
Other Useful Spiritmaster Skills
There are several secondary abilities worth mentioning, even though they won't always be part of your main DPS rotation.
- Rapid Scattershot is only on the list because of its unique specialty that offers -1s to all skill cooldowns on hit and combines well with Multi-Hit. The ability to heavily reduce your most important cooldowns on Stigmas is huge, even if it makes your character rely even more on having a steady flow of MP.
- Dimensional Control is triggered for a short while each time a Spirit uses its skill, deals a bit of damage, slows several enemies, and restores 100 MP. What’s not to like? Try to squeeze it in often enough to keep sustaining yourself.
- Jointstrike: Curse applies a DoT effect as well as invites your active Spirits to attack and deal extra damage, so with both your Fire and Ancestor Spirit out in the field, it works really well. Some extra protection provided by the spell is the cherry on the cake. Just make sure to specialize it to turn it Mobile — it’s borderline unusable otherwise.
- Defiance is mostly a panic button for cases when you screw something up badly. This shouldn’t really be as much of an issue as with many other classes who don’t have the privilege of being ranged as well as having summons, but I would still rather have Defiance when I don’t need it than need it and not have it. There is no point in maxing it, though, considering that you won’t even use it all that much.
Best Spiritmaster Stigmas
In the case of Spiritmaster, one of the Stigmas is game-defining, and I’ve already mentioned it before. Summon Ancient Spirit enables you in ten different ways, so you have to focus your attention on it.

Fire: X AoE damage and Knockdown Water:X damage and Slow Earth: X damage and Seal Wind: X AoE damage and Stun Ancient: AoE damage and Knockdown |
Ancient Spirit
Ancient Spirit is essentially your ultimate, and you will rely on it the most when it’s time to get into the boss fight. It acts as an additional source of everything that you have: from damage through coordinated assaults and base attacks to elemental stacks through its ability. No matter what you do, Ancient Spirit will make it better, and it itself benefits from both Flame Blessing and Spirit’s Benediction.
Enhance: Spirit’s Benediction
Speaking of the devil, Spirit’s Benediction is a very straightforward buff that makes you and your Spirit much better at everything from dealing damage to staying alive. It’s your second-best Stigma, so treat it accordingly in terms of priorities both in leveling and in combat.
Flame Blessing
Flame Blessing is just another damage boost — maybe not as potent and versatile as Spirit’s Benediction, but it still beats all other options available to you, especially considering the 4-slot limitation. Just use it together with Spirit’s Benediction and DPS shouldn’t be a problem.
Jointstrike: Corrode
Jointstrike: Corrode increases the damage your Spirits deal to the enemy, and then launches a coordinated attack so that you can immediately benefit from it. Now, considering how buffed your Spirits will be, this is perfectly synergistic with the rest of your Stigma lineup.

Best Spiritmaster Passive Skills
As far as Spiritmaster’s passives go, there are many decent options and only a few weaker ones.

Spirit Strike
No matter what Spiritmaster builds you’ll look up, I am certain that Spirit Strike is going to be a high priority in it. It boosts you and your Spirits in a considerable way, and it’s not like Perfect Chance is a common, easy-to-get thing, so having it attached to your very first passive is super nice.
Mental Focus
While Mental-type Chances aren’t particularly important in the build, increasing Double Chance is very valuable, and Mental Focus is basically your only source of this stat. This passive doesn’t really help you with leveling, but you should make it your priority to have it leveled up properly when you get to the midgame.
Element Unification
Element Unification provides a nice stacking percentage-based Critical Damage boost to both you and your Spirits upon landing a Spirit Skill attack, which will happen constantly. It also combines nicely with the next passive on the list.
Corrode
Corrode makes your crits count even more than they did before, and acts as a nice additional source of damage. It’s not a particularly flashy or memorable passive, but I find it reliable and convenient to have.
Other Useful Spiritmaster Passive Skills
- Spirit Revitalization adds an extra chance to reduce the cooldown of Spirit summon skills by 1 second on hit, which helps you mitigate the worst issue with your Ancient Spirit. I find it to be a good passive, but still prefer to focus on everything damage-related first.
- Spirit’s Descent boosts your damage when you summon a Spirit, and all you do with this build is constantly cycle through all of your Spirits. So, in your case, it’s a passive that provides its effect unconditionally. The effect itself might not be as potent as you’d wish, but it synergizes with the rest of your kit incredibly well.
- Consecutive Countercurrent offers you a chance to deal extra damage when you land an attack on a target affected by DoTs, and it’s nice to have early on, although it can be less noticeable when you reach midgame.
AION 2 Spiritmaster PvE Rotation
The best rotation you can have consists of a lot of abilities, but the logic behind it is very easy to understand. Note that you might need a bunch of MP to cycle through your spells, and I haven’t found a way to make it consistent enough without mana potions.
Preparation:
- First off, you start with your buffs like Flame Blessing and Spirit’s Benediction to boost your stats.
- Then, you summon Ancient Spirit, who gets improved stats thanks to your buffs.
- Follow it with Jointstrike: Corrode so that the boss is debuffed before you start actually dealing damage.
Execution:
- From now on, all you need to do is summon your Spirits one by one so that you can get the elements required for Elemental Fusion. Keep an eye on your Ancient Spirit, since every time it uses its ability, your Elemental Fusion can be cast again.
- Cast your other spells when possible: Cold Shock for a bit of MP, Combustion for more damage, Jointstrike: Curse for even more damage and some defense. Also, Dimensional Control is basically available at all times as long as you keep summoning Spirits, so use it to deal more damage and restore some MP in the process.
Best Spiritmaster Macros
Even though the character might seem rather complicated, all you need to play Spiritmaster efficiently is a macro or two.
The most important thing is your Elemental Fusion combo, which includes a rotation of Spirits as a setup and the Elemental Fusion itself as a payoff. ā
|
Priority |
Skill |
|
0 |
Elemental Fusion |
|
1 |
Earth Spirit |
|
2 |
Water Spirit |
|
3 |
Fire Spirit |
The idea here is simple: you want your Elemental Fusion to go first, because you might already have the Four Elements effect on you thanks to Ancient Spirit or just your Spirits’ normal attacks, making extra cycling redundant. The reason you end up on Fire Spirit is that it’s your best DPS option, and you always want it running around. The order of other spirits is irrelevant — you only really need them to get the Four Elements.
Now, you can come up with several other macros on your own, and I’ve seen some good ideas put out, like adding both of your Jointstrikes in a macro followed by Combustion/Dimensional Control, so that when Jointstrikes go on cooldown, you just use your additional damage abilities. It’s also nice to have both of your buffs in a macro.
I personally like having Dimensional Control on a separate line so that I don’t have to spend extra MP to use it when I feel like it, but that isn’t necessarily optimal at all times. Feel free to come up with what feels more comfortable to you.
Spiritmaster PvP Build
Once again, from what I’ve experienced, Spiritmaster isn’t really suited for PvP in its current iteration. The only real CC you have is based on Fear, which has been neglected by the devs for a long time on KR/TW, and nothing has changed in Global. Considering that it’s kind of supposed to be your major contributing factor in combat, finding a different route is tough. Ancient Spirit and Spirit’s Benediction are probably going to be the most consistent parts of your kit. You can also try replacing Fire Spirit with Earth Spirit for its Taunt, which can be quite annoying for your opponents.
Best Spiritmaster Stats
As you’ve already noticed, Spiritmaster in AION 2 isn’t exactly a true summoner class — it’s much more damage-oriented and straightforward than what you might have expected. I strongly recommend that you not try to make your class fantasy build work — all you’ll get is a lot of frustration and inefficiency.
As with many other classes in the game, you simply want to prioritize your Attack and Critical Damage as well as Accuracy for consistency. Double Chance is great because one of your passives provides a boost to it as well. I would also recommend some Combat Speed just because the game feels smoother when your skills are quicker.

AION 2 rewards hyperfocusing on DPS, and I wouldn’t recommend straying too far away from it or spreading yourself thin across various stats. As long as you don’t get actively punished by the game, keep pushing these damage numbers. Luckily, Spiritmasters are ranged characters that have summons to keep enemies busy, so you shouldn’t have too many problems in PvE.
Best Spiritmaster Gear and Manastones
Following the established principle, your weapon/guard gear should provide enough overall damage through various means for you to not enter slog mode. Precision, Combat Speed, and Multi-Hit chance are your second priority. As for the armor, bonuses to your passives, Double Chance, and additional Attack increases are most important. Accessories are also mostly about boosting your passives as well as Combat/Movement Speed and Precision.
Don’t worry about your gear too much while leveling and certainly don’t reroll for specific stats until you get to higher gear scores. You will replace a lot of stuff before you’ve hit the cap, and only then will it make sense to start tinkering with your weapons and whatnot.
As for manastones, you shouldn’t expect much initially, since everything is completely random. As long as you can secure some extra Attack, Accuracy, or Critical Hit bonuses, you’re fine. If you feel like you can do better and have the resources to afford it, go ahead, but if at least one of these statements isn’t true, then stick with what you have.
Best Spiritmaster Daevanion Boards
As it always is the case with Daevanion Boards, the progression is very basic and predictable despite it being split across several big multi-node trees. At first, you should prioritize leveling your most important Active and Passive Skills, then get to the orange nodes when you can afford it.
In Nezekan, Combat Speed and Attack Bonus are your best options, but you can get some Cooldown Reduction too if you like it. Zikel is all about Damage Boost and Accuracy Bonus — I wouldn’t bother with defensive stats unless there is no opportunity cost at all. Vaizel offers a massive Critical Damage boost, and you will get a good use out of it. Finally, Triniel presents some nice Multi-Hit nodes that you should take.
Remember that you’ll have to get to the desired node through unlocking a bunch of gray ones. Make sure that the path isn’t too demanding in terms of resources and that the stats you get aren’t completely worthless.
Best Spiritmaster Arcana
Arcana is another RNG-based mechanic that you have limited control of, but the problem here is that its bonuses are actually very valuable, so you will have to invest in it at some point later in the game. However, just like with many mechanics in AION 2, there is no revelation here — all you want is more levels for your most valuable skills so that you can hit these level 16-20 thresholds.
In the case of Spiritmaster, we’re talking about Combustion, Elemental Fusion, Fire Spirit, and Spirit Strike. Of course, you aren’t going to get all that right away, and it’s fine — don’t derail your natural progression to get the perfect combination ASAP. Gather resources and come back when you feel like it’s a reasonable investment — and it’s most reasonable when you’re about to hit a new breakpoint.
Best Spiritmaster Pantheon and Pets
Pantheon and Pets are mostly an extra layer of progression for those who have mostly exhausted other means of boosting their strength, and you should treat these systems accordingly. For Pantheon, focus on Attack, Accuracy, Critical Chance, and Cooldown Reduction. Same goes for Genus Insight, except here you can roll some PvE-focused bonuses as well as Multi-Hit ones.
AION 2 Spiritmaster Tips and Tricks
- Add Mobile to Jointstrike: Curse as soon as you can so that the skill stops being so annoying to cast. You don’t want to get regularly stuck in the animation for no reason, and the other Specialties for it aren’t as valuable anyway.
- Always place Elemental Fusion as your first spell in the Spirit cycle macro so that you can cast it immediately if you have Four Elements already. Don’t waste MP and time for no reason.
- If you struggle with MP, try to weave Dimensional Control and Cold Shock here and there in combat. If you find it simply not efficient enough, you’ll have to rely on mana potions.
- Don’t think too much about your summons and their positioning — they’re mostly there to enable you, not the other way around.

F.A.Q.
Is Spiritmaster the best PvE class in AION 2?
Not necessarily, but it is definitely among the best thanks to its raw damage output and consistency. You have all the necessary tools to be a good PvE character, and you don’t have to sacrifice DPS for utility as well.
Is Spiritmaster difficult to play in AION 2?
Spiritmaster is also surprisingly easy to play, despite what you might initially think when you read its abilities. All you need is a basic understanding of your main combo and one or two macros. After that, the game mostly plays itself, although you’ll have to focus on managing your resources well from time to time.
What are the best Spiritmaster skills in AION 2?
Elemental Fusion, Summon Fire Spirit, and Combustion are your best skills, all offering great damage output. As long as you learn to cycle through your other skills to enable combos, you shouldn’t have any problems killing bosses or other enemies.
What are the best Spiritmaster Stigmas in AION 2?
Ancient Spirit is the cornerstone of the entire class, and you’ll have to prioritize it if you expect to have a good time. Enhance: Spirit’s Benediction is an amazing buff for you and your Spirits. Aside from these two, Flame Blessing and Jointstrike: Corrode provide decent ways to scale your damage even further.
Is Spiritmaster good in PvP in AION 2?
Unfortunately, Spiritmaster is currently not great in PvP, and you’ll have a much better time in PvE. The main problem is the lack of PvP utility compared to other classes, and you are also not the top DPS class when it comes to PvP, so there isn’t any good reason to pick it for this game mode. Hopefully, future updates will shift the meta in its favor.
