Career rank is your general progression. By gaining levels, or as they’re called here, career ranks, you unlock access to more weapons, gadgets, customization, and everything else.

The Career rank XP is earned from:

• Enemy kills

• Objective capture

And these are just the most obvious sources. There are also specialized ways to earn XP, like long-range kills, multi-kills, etc. And you can earn this either in multiplayer or “Verified Portal Experiences” – player-created game modes verified by the game.
