Battlefield’s release this year has been very successful. It brought a lot of newcomers to the franchise, but for many of them, vehicles are an unknown territory. Knowing this, we’ve decided to create this guide to make you feel confident when using them. Here, we will explain all vehicle types, explain how to use them and give you tips.
An important thing to know is that vehicles in BF6 have level progression. That means using them effectively from the beginning can be a problem, so if you want your vehicles to have all the possible options unlocked, you can order BF6 Vehicle Mastery Leveling Boost using this link.

How to Use Vehicles in Battlefield 6
One thing you have to realize when using vehicles in BF is that they’re tools. And just like any tool, you have to know what you’re doing to be useful to your team. The best decision if you’re new to the series would be to play as infantry and to observe how people play around vehicles. Notice what the tank players do, how helicopter players use buildings and terrain to hide behind them. Pay attention not only to good vehicle players, but also to bad ones. Learning from someone else’s mistakes is even more useful than learning how to be good all the time. Try our Battlefield 6 Classes Guide to optimize your infantry fighter experience.
If you want to skip the natural vehicle learning curve though, this guide is for you. In it, we will answer how to use vehicles in Battlefield 6.
Battlefield 6 Vehicle Types Explained
There are 4 vehicle types in Battlefield 6: tanks, jets, helicopters and cars. Each of them provides different tactical options, and we will explain your goals with each of them in the match. In this part of the guide, we will have Battlefield 6 vehicle types explained.
Tanks
They dominate ground warfare. When a tank appears near you, everybody has to play around it. You just can’t ignore this huge threat. A good tank player can turn the tide of battle by themself.
Your goal in the match is to go for objectives and help your team push them. Be careful and don’t go too far from your Engineers. You can die in just one hit in this game if an enemy hits your tank’s weak spot from behind. That means that teamplay is more important than ever. A typical mistake tank players make is staying far from the hot zone where the actual fight happens. A good understanding of macro separates bad tank players from good ones. Always pay attention to the global map and adjust your position accordingly.
Jets
Your strategy is hit-and-run. Engage with an enemy, drop all you have on their head, disengage. Repeat ad nauseam. Despite the game plan being so simplistic, the true difficulty is in performing it well. A great skill for a good player is to have a calm mind and evaluate their surroundings. Being fast is your greatest asset, so try to always break the line of sight as soon as you disengage from the combat. There are more tactical tips further down the guide, where we’ll explain it in more detail.
Helicopters
Oppressors of the battlefield. Your goal is to make the lives of people on the ground insufferable. Unlike jets, you’re not as fast, but you have many more possibilities to dodge fire and we’re not talking about flares. Once you learn the controls and they become second nature to you, hitting you on purpose will become a problem. Just remember that you’re not invincible and don’t stay in one place for too long.
Cars
Or just one car, to be exact. Including this in the vehicle list feels strange, since they all have some kind of purpose in this glorified rock-paper-scissors game. Not this one. Its tactical purpose is to deliver you to the objective as fast as possible when all of your comrades are down or in the thick of a combat. Jump into it, get into the fight, forget about it.
Battlefield 6 All Vehicles List
Before we break down each vehicle in-depth, you’ve got to get familiar with all transport systems in the game. Take a look at our Battlefield 6 all vehicles list:
Name | Seats | Purpose | Features |
Main Battle Tank | 2 | Anti-Vehicle | Hard Target. Engaging land vehicles and infantry |
Infantry Fighting Vehicle | 6 | Anti-Soldier | Countering infantry, bad against heavy armor |
Light Ground Transport | 5 | Transport | Fast traversal, light firepower |
Mobile Anti-Air | 1 | Aircraft Combat | Dual autocannons, homing missiles |
Attack Helicopter | 2 | Anti-Vehicle/Anti-Soldier | Effective against all ground targets |
Transport Helicopter | 5 | Transport | Made for air assaults. Two miniguns for self-defense |
Attack Jet | 1 | Anti-Vehicle/Anti-Soldier | Fast, effective against ground targets, poor armor |
Fighter Jet | 1 | Anti-Vehicle | Good against other air-vehicles, not so good with ground targets |
As you can see, each machine has its own purpose in the ecosystem of war. Combined, they provide you unlimited resources for strategic use. We advise that you pick whatever suits your gameplay style and master it.
Now, without further ado, let’s dive into each vehicle type.
Battlefield 6 Tanks
This part of a franchise provides a player with 3 tanks that each serve their own purpose. Here’s a list of Battlefield 6 tanks:
- Main Battle Tank
- Infantry Fighting Vehicle
- Mobile Anti-Air
Let’s talk about each of them one by one.
Main Battle Tank
Called M1A2 (M1 Abrams) for NATO and Leo A4 (Leopard 2) for Pax Armata, this is the workhorse of both sides. Armed with a Coaxial LMG that melts infantry and a 120mm cannon, you get probably the deadliest MBT the franchise has seen. It’s not very agile and you definitely will feel how heavy it is when you drive it, so play around it.
Infantry Fighting Vehicle
This one is modeled after the M3A3 Bradley for NATO and Strf 09 A4 (CV90) for Pax. On some maps, this is going to be your main tank. It has HEI-T rounds as the main weapon and M41A7 TOW2 missiles for secondary, it’s really good against infantry. Much better than MBT, but its missiles are pretty weak against armored targets. It’s faster than the main tank, but still your gameplay is pretty much going to be the same.
Mobile Anti-Air
This vehicle is Cheetah 1A2 for NATO and GE-26 PAX for, you guessed it, Pax Armata. Both are designed after Flakpanzer Gepard. It boasts 35mm rounds for the main weapon, which provides incredibly limited use against anything other than air vehicles. But of course, nobody picks it for the main weapon. This monster has 2 anti-air missiles as secondary, which are a nightmare to deal with. A good player with nice support will make heli and jet players ragequit if nobody takes care of them.
Battlefield 6 Helicopters
There are only 2 types of helicopters in this game, and only one of them is meant for combat. Two of the following Battlefield 6 helicopters are:
- Attack Helicopter
- Transport Helicopter
Let us break them down for you.
Attack Helicopter
We have M77E Falchion based on AH-64 Apache for NATO and Panthera KHT based on AS-665 Tiger for Pax. They both have 70 PGM rockets as their primary weapon and ALM-93 Anti-Air Missiles for the helicopter pilot and an autocannon for the gunner seat. It has one of the best anti-infantry guns among vehicles and a nice set of weapons to defend itself. This means an attack helicopter is a huge threat to just about anyone, but it’s countered by the fact that it’s very hard to pilot well. Your first move would be to learn controls perfectly, so that your mind can be occupied with strategizing. Basically, to perform well with a helicopter, you need to master its movement.
Transport Helicopter
Unlike its counterpart, it doesn’t offer as much depth and is just a means of transportation. Going from point A to point B is what it does best. That doesn’t mean that it’s unprotected. UH-79 (which is, of course, based on UH-60 Black Hawk) has two miniguns on both of its sides.
Honestly, there’s not much to say about it. It pilots like a fridge, it’s not that well protected, and it doesn’t possess the agility the attack helicopter has. Pick it only when you really need it, otherwise don’t sweat about it.
Battlefield 6 Jets
There are 2 jets present in this game. Both of them provide good use and are really flashy to play on. The Battlefield 6 jets are:
- Attack Jet
- Fighter Jet
Both are amazing options, so let’s talk about them.
Attack Jet
F-61V for NATO and F-39E for Pax, based on F-16 and JAS 39 respectively. The weapon set is pretty standard with a 27mm autocannon for close-range dog-fighting and AGM-72 guided rockets for ground targets. Jets are fast, agile and deadly. They’re also glass cannons, so practice on some Portal practice maps before using the jet in real matches.
Fighter Jet
Using fighter jets is not that different from using an attack jet. The only difference is that fighter jets have AA AIM-84 missiles and hitting ground targets with them is a bit more difficult. Other than that, all the tips in the following section can be applied to both jets. NATO’s fighter jet is the F-97 Kestrel modeled after the F-22 and Pax’s jet is the Su-57.
Battlefield 6 Transport
There’s just one vehicle available for both sides. Glider 96 for NATO and Vector for Pax. They’re nothing to write home about. It’s easy to destroy them, they have limited defensive options, and if any other vehicle sees you, you’re done. They have mounted heavy machine guns, which are okay against other infantry. Don’t use it for anything other than getting to the objective. BLOG20
Battlefield 6 Best Vehicles
With all the options broken down, it’s time to decide what to use in the match. Practically speaking, all vehicle types have one main vehicle that will be used the most and some vehicles that are more specialized. Here’s a list of Battlefield 6 best vehicles:
- Main Battle Tank: Great offense, great defense, bad movement. Play around the corners and don’t forget to apply pressure.
- Attack Helicopter: Hard to learn, hard to master, great to use. Unlike jets, your ground pressure game is constant. Make all the ground-walkers feel like they’re on a real battlefield with it.
- Attack Jet: A great all-rounder with amazing mobility. Despite only having AGM missiles, your autocannon is more than enough for air combat.
Battlefield 6 Vehicle Tips
Understanding the vehicles and their purpose is good, but what about actual advice that will help you get better? Don’t worry, check out these Battlefield 6 vehicle tips for each type:
Tank Tips
- Switch views often: In third person, you'll be able to gather more intel. In the first person, you'll be able to aim more precisely.
- Ammo types: Most tanks start with some mix of heavy shells and anti-infantry ammo. Knowing what ammo you're taking with you is key, as it will define your role in the match.
- Positioning: Lock down the sightlines, use buildings and terrain to stay out of harm's way, and have an escape route at all times.
- Tank-on-Tank Violence: Landing the first hit is important, as it dictates who's gonna lead the fight. Never stay in one position once the fight starts, always move between the covers.
In short: be decisive, smart and don’t be afraid to get into the fight.
Helicopter Tips
- Tilting matters: Tilting the nose down will make the helicopter go faster, tilting it up will make it slow down and lose height quickly.
- Piloting a helicopter is a constant dance: You need to properly position yourself and aim at the same time. Get comfortable with throttling and tilting at the same time.
- Use your countermeasure cleverly: wait until the lock-on system warning goes from "locked" to "incoming" before releasing flares.
To sum up: stock up on energy drinks and don’t forget to pick an Engineer. Don’t wait for someone to fix your bird.
Jet Tips
- When dog-fighting, turn at 300 knots: This way, you'll be able to make the fastest adjustments to your target.
- Pay attention to your PIP: Pip stands for Predicted Impact Point. It shows where your shots will land. It's a great tool and it's a new thing in the BF series, so make good use of it.
- Fire missiles at any angle: You don't have to look at your target directly to hit them. You can turn your camera and it will lock on even if you're parallel to your target. They can fire sideways, even backwards. The same thing applies to air-to-air missiles.
- Maximize your damage: To destroy ground vehicles, the pattern is as follows. Fire a missile, follow it up with your autocannon and use your drop bombs exiting the strafe.
- Fighter jets have a delay dropping bombs: For them to drop bombs, the bay door will have to open first. If your bay door is open, you'll be able to drop all the bombs one after another.
- Avoiding AA missiles: Just like with helicopters, you'll have to wait until the lock-on interface shows "incoming" and then drop your flares. After that, gain as much altitude as possible or break the line of sight.
- Risky escape: When you are lower than 50m, the enemy radar will not detect you. That means that you can't be locked onto, but watch out! It's very easy to miscalculate your speed and hit the ground, destroying your jet.
With jets, it’s easy to go in-depth for hours, but it’s probably the easiest way to enjoy air combat. Good luck picking one though.
Conclusion
Vehicles in Battlefield 6 provide a deep, complex gameplay. They’re big, cool and fun to play. Learning and mastering them can easily take hundreds of hours, though.
