Doomwalker Guide TBC Classic Anniversary

First, we’ll discuss Doomwalker. It’s a towering construct that spawns in Shadowmoon Valley, near the Black Temple gates. This encounter checks your positioning and character mastery, as the punishment for failure is huge. Don’t be like me and die to Doomwalker because you didn’t know his mechanics well enough, and then find out that you can’t return to battle. So, how do you actually go through this encounter? I thought you’d never ask. This is a comprehensive Doomwalker guide for TBC Classic Anniversary. First, we’ll go over the spells, then the loot, and finally the tips.

This boss is balanced for ~40 LVL70 Players, who have Heroic or Karazhan-level gear. If you are in the area, you’ll see a notification pop up telling you that the boss is active. If you are a solo player, stay away. If you are a guild player, time to shine. To know what to expect in this fight, check out all Doomwalker abilities in TBC Classic Anniversary:

Ability

Effect

Lightning Wrath

A 10-yard range, chaining lightning damage. Each jump, the damage doubles. Works kinda like C'Thun's chaining beam. Don't stand too close to other players if you don't want to die or cause someone's death.

Earthquake

Eight-second channeled physical damage to the entire raid and stun at the end of the cast.

Overrun

Charges at a random player, then resets the threat.

Crush Armor

Applies 10% stacking armor debuff on the main target.

Enrage

At 20% HP, enrages and starts dealing double physical damage. If you're a tank, use your defensive cooldowns like Shield Wall to survive this state.

Mark of Death

Debuff applied after dying near the Doomwalker. Throughout the next 15 minutes, you immediately die if you go near the Doomwalker. This essentially removes you from the encounter.

I cannot stress it enough, Lightning Wrath is the ultimate noob killer. Spread out if you want to see the loot by the end of the fight. Speaking of loot. Doomwalker has a lot of BiS items in it, so he is extremely contested. Be wary of other hostile raids coming in, cause there’ll be a few of them for sure. As for the items that you can get, check out the Doomwalker loot list:

Remember that you can only get the rewards if you’re in a raid that tags the boss. If someone else steals the last hit from your raid, tough luck. It’s essential that your DPS attack Doomwalker with all their might once he drops to 20% HP. Let me share some Doomwalker tips & tricks for TBC Classic Anniversary:

  • As a tank, remember to taunt the boss once he uses Overrun. Thankfully, it’s pretty easy, but coordinate your spellcasts.
  • When Doomwalker enters the Enrage phase, tanks should use their defensive cooldowns like Shield Wall, and the DPS should spend all their offensive skills to kill him fast.
  • If you’re a DPS, do not attack Doomwalker once he uses Overrun. You don’t want him to bash your face in, do you?
  • The biggest responsibility lies with healers. Cast over-time heals on your tanks before Earthquake, and reserve your big healing spells before Enrage.
  • Spread out. It’s infuriating to die to Lightning Wrath because of someone else’s poor positioning. If you don’t want to be this guy, stay away as you did during a certain pandemic.

Follow these tips, and you’ll be golden. Don’t overspend your abilities and stay aware of your surroundings. Have reserve tanks for when the boss starts chewing through the primary tanks’ health. It’s not that difficult a fight, and if you’re lucky enough not to get into a quarrel with another raid, this bossfight should go without any problem. Now, let’s talk about another big, bad, evil guy. BLOG20

TBC Classic Anniversary Doom Lord Kazzak Guide

We continue to the second part with the TBC Classic Anniversary Doom Lord Kazzak guide. Kazzak isn’t as difficult as Doomwalker, but his ability to flush your HP down the drain at the moment's notice is nothing to laugh at. You can find him at the Throne of Kil’jaeden on Hellfire Peninsula. He is inaccessible without a flying mount, but at this point, it shouldn’t be a problem for you. This fight is fun, and the outcome is solved within a minute. He dies pretty fast, but he heals every time someone dies in his vicinity. Following the structure presented in the previous part, we’ll review his casts, loot, and tips for fighting this monstrosity. Doom Lord Kazzak's abilities in TBC Anniversary revolve around AoE spells:

Ability

Effect

Shadow Bolt Volley

A 30-yard ranged attack launching multiple Shadow projectiles.

Twisted Reflection

Debuff placed on a random player. Heals Kazzak when this player takes any damage. Can be dispelled.

Cleave

Heavy physical frontal cleave. All Melee units should flank the boss to avoid the damage.

Mark of Kazzak

Removes 5% of a random player's mana per second for the duration of 8 seconds. If the player runs out of mana, they will explode for 4k shadow damage over 15 yards.

Thunderclap

A 20-yard AoE Nature damage, which applies movement and attack speed reduction.

Void Bolt

Single target shadowbolt on primary threat target.

Capture Soul

Every time a player of the same faction as the player tagged with this dies, Doomlord Kazzak heals for 150k health.

Enrage

After one minute, Enrages, increasing all damage by 30% and casts six waves of Shadow Bolt Volley.

Though Capture Soul seems horrifying at first, you’ll soon realize that it’s not as scary as it sounds. You still can continue the fight, unlike with Doomwalker. It’s basically a race to see who dies first. For this reason, your tanks should be equipped with their best gear. But of course, the major responsibility lies on the DPS players, and killing Kazzak grants a Hope Ender, which is a BiS weapon for most melee DPS. This doesn’t mean that other classes should ignore farming him, as he has great loot in store. Check out this TBC Classic Anniversary Doom Lord Kazzak loot list:

You can get some of these items in less than a minute! What a treat. Remember, though, that after the World Boss dies, they go on a 3-4 day cooldown. You won’t be able to fight them again anytime soon. I actually thought that I could farm them all day. Imagine my face when I brought snacks and turned on Breaking Bad to binge-watch it for the third time, and the fight was done in a minute. There’s a way this fight could last longer. If you fail repeatedly. If you don’t want to experience this, read our best Doom Lord Kazzaks tips & tricks:

  • Make sure you never go out of mana during the fight, as it will cause an instant AoE explosion if Kazzak decides to apply his Mark on you. If he did, and you’re low on mana, run away from other players. If you’re a Mage, just use the Ice Block.
  • Dispel Twisted Reflection as soon as it is applied.
  • Tanks should rotate their defensive cooldowns when Enrage starts.
  • You should finish this encounter within a minute. If you don’t, Kazzak will enter the Enrage state and then cast 6 Shadowbolt Volleys, which will probably end up in a wipe.
  • Throw everything you can to kill Kazzak fast. Don’t save your offensive cooldowns, as you need to end him before 54 seconds have passed.

If you want to feel like you went through a war, fight Kazzak on a PvP server. I guess this is the intended way to experience the bossfight, as it turns this boss into a really difficult encounter. This is extremely fun, but so hectic that it’s hard to call it an organized fight. But yeah, that’s about everything you need to know about these TBC Classic Anniversary World Bosses. Track their timers, prepare well, learn how to ride a flying mount if you want to fight Doom Lord, and don’t forget that bosses will reset in a couple of days after they are killed.
