It’s no secret that ARC Raiders takes place in post-apocalyptic Italy. Nowhere is it as noticeable as on the Buried City map. It seems to be an area of the city, perhaps even Downtown, that has been buried under tons of sand. Some areas are less covered in sand, while others bury entire skyscrapers. It’s a very dangerous map. The southern part is filled with ARCs, including Rocketeers and Bombardiers. The northern part is filled with high-value locations and other raiders looking for loot. It contains some of the best zones to farm a specific type of loot, so let’s jump to the discussion!

If you want to get all the cool loot from this map, try our Buried City Map Boost. It’s a fast way to get all the necessary items, and you won’t have to participate in PvP.

Buried City Raid Guide

Let’s start off our Buried City raid guide. Every map in ARC Raiders has a slight gameplay twist. Buried City is no exception from this rule. Before Stella Montis’ release, this was the PvP map. What makes it that? Let’s find out:

  • Verticality Everywhere: Unlike other maps, this one has many elevated areas. Tall buildings, dune elevations between the buildings, bell towers, you name it.
  • Lots of Cover: Probably the only map where you can completely ignore any ARCs by just going through. If you trigger any ARC, just look around: it’s a good chance that there’s an open door nearby.
  • Many Places to Camp: The aforementioned features create an environment where it’s extremely easy to stalk players. Don’t rush and check every possible opening before you go out in the open.

Despite Stella Montis’ release, this is still a PvP map. If you’re not into that, we recommend taking things slowly when just spawning in. You can wait until around the 15th minute to make sure that the player spawns stop.

Best Places to Loot in Buried City

Buried City is one of the best places to farm specific loot. This map has most of the types of loot in the game. To farm efficiently, select a specific location for your run. Looting everything will just make you overencumbered in no time. Now, let’s discuss the best places to loot in Buried City:

  • Town Hall: A small building, locked by a keycard. The main entrance is the only way in, unless you have a Zipline. The Zipline will allow you to get in from the back of the building. Look for an open window there. Town Hall contains Old World loot and a security locker. It’s one of the best zones for looting, but it makes it a warzone. To add to the list of problems, there’s a boss spawn right outside of it.
  • Space Travel: Commercial and Technological loot spawns here. It has multiple stories and connects to the Research Building. If you need mechanical parts for your weapons, this is your go-to.
  • Research Building: Pretty much the same loot as Space Travel, except that there are more healing items. You can stock up on bandages and Vita Sprays here.
  • Hospital: The most lucrative loot zone for you to farm healing items. It also spawns pretty rare blueprints. It’s also super safe to loot as there’s a Metro Entrance nearby.
  • Gallery: It doesn’t contain that much loot, but it has tons of Great Mullein spawns. You can easily get about 40 units of this plant. If you need to craft green healing bandages, farm it up.
  • Marano Park: It’s only good for Apricot spawns. After that, it loses its value fast. Still, if you’re looking for them, a good place to loot. Watch out, as there is a boss spawn nearby.
  • Plaza Rosa: It’s not bad, specifically the Pharmacy building. There are no security lockers or weapon chests here, but there are plenty of good recyclable loot.
  • Grandioso Apartments: This place is good if you’re trying to earn money. Contains a lot of sellable loot and is quite safe. There are many Pops and Fireballs inside the building, so watch out.

Buried City probably has the most even loot spread. You can find decent loot in white looting areas, and there are many unmarked locations with loot. Along with really handy Metro Entrance placements, it’s surprisingly safe to loot here, even with all the raiders around.

Buried City Best Loot Path

Buried City’s loot path is a bit different than those of other maps. On most maps, you can safely reach your location without tweaking your path that much. In Buried City, due to how many shootouts there are, you will regularly change your loot route. There’s one loot route that we prefer, so let us share it. It brings the biggest number of weapons and mechanical materials, along with healing items. Our loot path starts at Plaza Rosa and ends in the Hospital. Depending on your spawn, you can start somewhere else and then slowly get to the loot path. Here’s the best loot path in Buried City:

  1. Starting at Plaza Rosa: Depending on where you spawn, you may try to get into the building next to the destroyed highway. It’s two buildings on the left of Plaza Rosa. There, you can get a weapon crate spawn, but it can be a problem to find the right entrance. It’s one of the hidden loot locations.
  2. Move to the Red Tower: It’s a place that contains 2 potential weapon crate spawns. One on the roof of the building and another inside of it. If you already have something extremely valuable, that’s where you extract. Jump down to the right of the building and get to the Metro Entrance.
  3. Halfway to Piazza Arbusto: Somewhere in the middle between the Red Tower and Piazza Arbusto, there are 2 weapon crate spawns. On the map, they’re in the southern building, close to the Metro Entrance. After looting them, jump down and head to the northern building with the Pharmacy sign. There should be a door on the first floor that you’ll have to pry open. Search behind the cash register, as there are often spawns of some good attachments.
  4. Split Ways: From here, you have to decide if you want to go to the Town Hall or the Space Travel area. Another option is to take a safe route. You can make a wide swing through Buried Properties, skipping straight to the Hospital.
  5. Hospital: Scout the whole area like a search puppy. From our experience, this is the zone where we had the most blueprints spawning.

And that’s it, your loot path is over. Now extract at the lowest floor of the Hospital. If you’ve started from the Hospital, take an exit on Plaza Rosa. This route is very profitable, but it’s also quite dangerous. You’ll face many players and ARCs on your way to the final destination. BLOG20

Buried City Enemies

The Buried City has a huge number of ARCs floating around. The map itself is not that big, so you’ll definitely fight some. The typical Buried City enemies you’ll meet are:

ARC Location
Rocketeer

Usually, two of them spawn, one near the Hospital and another near the Piazza Arbusto.

Bombardier

Potentially, three of them may spawn. One is in the Old Town, another one is in the Marano Park, and the last one always spawns on the rooftop of the Parking Garage.

Bastion Has a chance of spawning near the Marano Park and the Old Town. Sometimes it spawns right outside of the Research, across the road to the Parking Garage.
Leapers

They can spawn in the southern part of the map, then near Marano Park, and closer to the Town Hall.

Wasps, Hornets, and Snatchers All around the map
Pops and Fireballs Inside buildings, especially tall ones.

The southern part of the map is the most occupied by drones. That’s why being careful here is a key to survival. Running around isn’t an option here. You can avoid most of the drones by walking on the outskirts of the map.

Buried City Best Extraction Points

There are many good extraction points in the Buried City. They are different from other map extractions, though. Here, it’s a Metro Station. There are four extraction points, and in order to access them, you’ll need to find Metro Entrances. Luckily, all of them are marked on the map. Be careful, as Metro Entrances are often home to extraction campers. People can enter the train from both sides of the Entrance. Before calling the extraction, check every nook and cranny. Check the opposite side as well. Here’s the list of Buried City's best extraction points:

  1. Eastern Station: Usually the easiest to access. It’s right on the edge of the southern part of the map. The best entrance to it is near the Piazza Arbusto. Watch out for campers, as the Entrance is right amid the street with many windows watching it.
  2. Northern Station: The Entrances to this station are very convenient. One of them is inside the Hospital, and the other is closer to the Library, right outside it. It might be the most dangerous extraction point, as many people return to Speranza here. Campers know this well, so watch out for boobie traps and mines.
  3. Western Station: It would be higher if not for the fact that you have to run across all the Marano Park, and you can easily get shot at. Not to mention, there are many flying ARCs outside, with the chance of Bombardier spawning right outside.
  4. Southern Station: Not many people extract here because the timer usually runs out early in the raid. If you’re doing short loot runs, it might be good. If you’re trying to stay in the raid longer, this is the worst choice.

And that’s it for the list of extractions. Unlike with other maps, there isn’t much use in Raider Hatch Keys here.

Conclusion

That wraps up our Buried City map guide. It’s a map that provides a very tactical experience. Much slower than that of other maps. Learning it well may result in some flashy outplays. Be careful, as this map is very dangerous for its ARCs, much like Stella Montis. If you want to read about the newly released map, check out our Stella Montis Map Guide. We got even more guides coming right up! Stay safe and see you Topside, raider!
