Turbo Boost Event Dates

There are two important dates connected with Turbo Boost in WoW:

  • The event kicks off on May 13, 2025
  • The event ends when The War Within Season 3 launches

This activity starts during The War Within Season 2 and is going to last for a few months for sure. It's not a full season, but it's long enough to make a real impact.

Each week during the event brings new chances to earn rewards. The first week is extra important, since players can collect more event currency than usual.

You’ll get one new quest every week tied to Turbo Boost. These quests reward powerful tokens used for top-tier gear. Plan ahead so you don’t miss your early head start. Starting strong in week one will make the whole event feel easier.

Turbo Boost Event Overview

Turbo Boost in The War Within is a time-limited event packed with upgrades, rewards, and catch-up tools. It was made to help players get stronger faster in Season 2.

The event is focused on helping you gear up your whole Warband. Many systems are being improved to make upgrades quicker and easier. That means more chances to boost item levels, gather useful currency, and complete quests for extra loot.

During the event, you’ll notice changes across the game. Raids, Mythic+ Dungeons, and Delves will drop more useful gear. You’ll also see a new currency that gives you control over the rewards you get.

Here are the main points we want to outline in our Turbo Boost event overview so far:

  • Higher item level caps on Heroic and Mythic gear
  • A new gear vendor with raid and dungeon rewards
  • More sources for Crests and Valorstones

Turbo Boost only lasts for part of the season, so it’s smart to prepare. Each week brings new chances to earn gear, tokens, and crafting materials. Once the event ends, these systems return to normal.

This is your window to catch up, gear up, and get ahead. Every upgrade matters. Every bit of planning helps. Make the most of it while it lasts.

Enhanced Upgrade Tracks

One of the most significant Turbo Boost changes is two extra upgrade levels to Heroic and Mythic gear tracks.

Before this event, Heroic and Mythic gear could only reach level six. Now, it goes up to eight. That means higher item levels for your best gear slots.

You don’t need to find new pieces to benefit. Existing gear that’s already upgraded can go even further. This change applies to items from Raids, Mythic+, and even the Chip vendor.

Upgrading past level six uses the same currency as before. Just collect more crests and Valorstones to unlock those new levels.

Crest Cap Removal and Valorstones Update

Starting May 13, the limit on how many crests you can hold is gone. This means you can farm as many crests as you want without hitting a cap. That’s a big deal for anyone upgrading lots of gear during Turbo Boost.

You’ll still need different crest types for different gear levels. But you can stack them up now and spend when ready. Save them for powerful upgrades or craft boosts. Valorstones are also getting a major update during this event. They become Warbound, not Soulbound. You can now send them between characters on your account.

There’s a catch, though. Every time you send Valorstones to another character, you lose some. You’ll lose 25% during each transfer, so plan carefully before sending them around.

Here’s how to use this to your advantage:

  1. Farm Valorstones on your alts to support your main
  2. Use saved Valorstones for Spark crafting or Augmentation items
  3. Hold unused Stones in alt bags if your main hits the cap

This is another big change that can greatly speed up your main and alt character gearing. Use this to get ready for Season 3 to conquer new content rather than farming and grinding later.

Turbo Boost Quests

Turbo Boost brings new weekly quests that reward a special event currency in WoW.

Each week, you get to choose one quest based on your favorite content type. One focuses on Raiding. The other is all about Mythic+ Dungeons.

To complete a quest, you need to finish four raid bosses or four Mythic+ runs. The first week gives more currency than later weeks, so don't miss it.

Week Quest Goal Chips Earned
1 4 Raid Bosses or 4 M+ Dungeons 3 Chips
2–7 4 Raid Bosses or 4 M+ Dungeons 1 Chip

Note: Only bosses from Liberation of Undermine count for this quest.

Each quest can only be completed once per week. You can’t finish both in the same week, so choose the one that fits your schedule best.

These quests are the only source of Puzzling Cartel Chips. You’ll need those to buy gear from the new vendor. Miss a quest, and you miss a chance to earn powerful upgrades. Try to complete your quest early in the week. That way, you won’t feel rushed later.

Puzzling Cartel Chips Currency

Puzzling Cartel Chips is a limited-time currency used during the Turbo Boost event. You earn them from weekly quests tied to Raids or Mythic+ dungeon runs. These chips let you buy powerful gear from a special vendor in Dornogal.

Each item costs exactly three chips, so plan your spending carefully. You can earn up to nine chips total during the event, one character at a time.

You can’t farm extra chips beyond those weekly quests. So, every chip counts. Don’t waste them on low-priority items.

There’s a separate Puzzling Cartel Chips Guide waiting for you on our blog. Learn how to earn this currency more efficiently, how to spend it efficiently, and so on. BLOG20

Delve System Boosts

Delves are getting a big bump in rewards during the Turbo Boost event. If you enjoy running Delves, now’s the perfect time to dive back in. Everything you earn from them will increase faster for a few weeks.

The weekly Delver’s Journey progress now grows much quicker than before. You’ll fill those bars faster and unlock better rewards sooner. Brann Bronzebeard also gets boosted experience from your runs.

Delve chests and caches will drop more crests and Valorstones than usual, too.

Here are some extras to watch for during your runs:

These boosts apply across all Delve tiers, no matter your current level.

Consultant Wrexxle's Gear Offerings

Consultant Wrexxle is a Turbo Boost vendor you’re going to do business with. You’ll find Wrexxle in Dornogal, near the Great Vault. He trades top-tier raid and dungeon items for Puzzling Cartel Chips.

Each item in his shop costs three chips. No exceptions. You can’t buy anything unless you’ve unlocked it first by playing the content.

For Heroic raid gear, you must kill the boss on any difficulty. For Mythic gear, the boss must be defeated on Mythic only. Dungeon trinkets at Mythic level require a full clear of Season 2 dungeons on +12. That’s the price to unlock those stronger rewards.

Wrexxle’s gear pool includes weapons, trinkets, rings, off-hands, and more. These items match the raid and dungeon versions exactly. This vendor gives you a shot at guaranteed upgrades without relying on random loot drops. If you’ve been unlucky with the vault or rolls, this is your safety net.

Profession Crafting Updates

Crafting gets a solid boost during Turbo Boost, making profession gear even more valuable. With the right materials, you can now push crafted items up to six item levels higher. This applies to gear made using Sparks of Fortune.

To increase item levels, use a special Augmentation Matrix during the recraft process. These matrices act like power boosters for your crafted gear.

There are two kinds of matrices, each offering a different upgrade value:

You can buy these from profession vendors in Dornogal, such as Llande or Syenite.

Using a matrix does not require extra Sparks, so don’t worry about wasting them. Just add the matrix in the optional reagent slot and recraft your gear.

If you’ve been saving crafted pieces or mats, now is the time to use them. This is a cheap and easy way to squeeze more power from what you already own.

What Items to Buy During Turbo Boost Event

You only get three Puzzling Cartel Chips per character, so your choices matter. Each item costs three chips, so you’ll want to pick with care and purpose. Aim for the biggest upgrades first (i.e., gear that gives real impact, not small gains).

The best pieces to target usually come from the final Raid bosses or high-end Mythic+ Dungeons. Think weapons, rings, and top-tier trinkets. These offer the biggest stat gains and strongest effects.

Avoid spending early on lower-impact slots like Cloaks, Belts, or Bracers. Those usually give less value for your chips. If you get something like that in your Vault, great. But don’t buy them first.

Here are the top items to buy during Turbo Boost event in The War Within:

  • The Jastor Diamond: One of the strongest ring effects in the game right now. Massive damage boost in both raids and dungeons. If you don’t have it, this should be your first pick.
  • Mug's Moxie Jug: A reliable intellect trinket that also gives critical strike when it procs. Works well in all content and fits most builds. Very consistent value.
  • House of Cards: Scales with your highest secondary stat. Great stacking effect over time. Strong for Mastery-focused classes, especially in long boss fights.
  • Entropic Skardyn Core: High potential when used well. The orb effect can be powerful if timed right. Still new, so performance varies based on player control.
  • Eye of Kezan: Good in long raid fights, but less useful in dungeons. It drops stacks quickly outside combat. Consider this one if you already have the others.

If you play Mythic a lot and already have some of these from drops, you may not need to buy them. But if you’re missing key pieces, especially The Jastor Diamond, don’t wait too long.

Run simulations for your own character if you’re unsure. Use tools like Raidbots to check which piece gives the biggest upgrade based on your gear. That way, you spend smart and gain the most power.
