Blood Hunt is a new PvE rogue-like event mode coming to Marvel Rivals on April 23, 2026 UTC. It already looks much bigger than the game’s last PvE experiment, thanks to six playable heroes, hero-specific abilities, a full gear and upgrade system, and Nightmare difficulty scaling all the way to 70. You’ll pick your favorite hero and fight through hordes of zombies, powerful bosses, and Dracula’s growing forces as New York falls deeper into chaos.
What is Blood Hunt in Marvel Rivals
This is the second PvE mode added to the game after last year’s successful Marvel Zombies event from Season 4.5. That makes Blood Hunt feel less like a one-off experiment and more like a major follow-up built on what players already enjoyed.
Just like Marvel Zombies, this co-op mode gives heroes new abilities designed specifically for PvE. At the same time, Blood Hunt goes further with build-focused progression, tougher boss encounters, and a much wider difficulty range that should give players more room to push stronger runs.
The Story
Blood Hunt’s story is part of the overarching plot of Season 7 that starts with Alchemax HQ from 2099 appearing in present-day New York and warping the city around it. As the crisis spreads, Wilson Fisk imposes a Super Hero Ban and locks heroes inside the Vault. Things spiral further when Black Cat and Spider-Man use a Trojan horse plan to break into the prison and free them, accidentally unleashing Dracula in the process. That breakout sets the stage for Blood Hunt, where New York faces a renewed vampire threat on top of the city’s already growing chaos.
Six Playable Heroes
In Marvel Rivals Blood Hunt, you can choose between six different heroes, each of which comes with its own unique abilities for this mode, upgrades, and gear. Those heroes are:
- Blade
- Jeff the Land Shark
- Moon Knight
- Punisher
- Squirrel Girl
- Thor
You can play solo or team up with up to 3 more players to stop the invasion.
Blood Hunt Bosses

Besides hordes of the undead, you’ll encounter a number of bosses, each featuring challenging movesets and boss mechanics. Those bosses are:
- Capwolf - Captain America turned werewolf
- Ratatoskr - an Asgardian squirrel goddess corrupted by Dracula
- Dracula - the Lord of the Night himself
- Kingpin - the current Mayor of New York City and one of the season 7’s antagonists.
Hero Customization and Builds
Each hero has a whole host of stats that can be increased by equipping better gear. Your gear score represents the total value of all items equipped, but besides that, you have traits that empower the hero’s abilities.
For example, the Lunar Tide trait makes Ankhs float above Moon Knight and follow his movement during their duration, periodically pulling in and Stunning nearby enemies. This would be an excellent choice for Moon Knight to help him not get overwhelmed by the horde.
Arcane Realm
Arcana is a leveling system that rewards you with points, which you can invest into one of 4 bonuses:
- Scroll of Conquest - Total Output Boost +50%
- Scroll of Immortality - Health +150
- Scroll of Blessing - Unlock Condition: Clear Difficulty NIGHTMARE 70
- Scroll of Midas - Unlock Condition: Clear Difficulty NIGHTMARE 70
Some of these scrolls are unlocked by completing a run on a specific difficulty.
Gear Slots and Stats
There are 4 gear slots:
- Weapon
- Armor
- Accessory
Each piece of gear comes with its own rarity, gear rating, and level. There are also random passive effects, such as +77% Bonus Damage to Bosses.
Difficulty Levels

Similar to Marvel Zombies, Blood Hunt features 4 difficulty levels: Normal, Hard, Extreme, and Nightmare. However, unlike last time when Nightmare had only 4 tiers, Blood Hunt’s Nightmare difficulty scales from 1 all the way to 70. Since you could make absolutely busted builds on heroes that allowed you to deal damage numbers close to millions, this increase is justified.
Blood Hunt may not stay in Marvel Rivals as a permanent game mode, but since Marvel Zombies was so popular, it looks like we’ll see many more of these PvE-focused events in the future.
