What Is The War Within Season 3 Start Date?
Season 3 of The War Within begins on August 12, 2025. This is when Season 2 officially ends, and all current rewards and progress will close out. Anything tied to achievements, currencies, or time-limited events will no longer be available.
That includes Mythic+ ratings, PvP ranks, Delve feats, and most seasonal mounts or toys. Currency like Crests and Undercoins will be reset completely, so use them up now. Once the patch is live, everything shifts to new dungeons, raids, events, and gear. Make sure you're ready before the clock runs out.
Liberation of Undermine Raid
Liberation of Undermine is the biggest raid of Season 2, and it’s packed with rewards that won’t stick around after the patch. This is your last chance to clear it for some of the rarest mounts, achievements, titles, and cosmetics in the game right now. Preparing for The War Within Season 3 and ignoring this raid would be a huge mistake.
If you haven’t stepped inside yet, you should do it now. Once Season 3 begins, most groups will stop running this raid. Finding a team later will be slow, frustrating, and way less rewarding. The sooner you jump in, the better your odds of walking away with the good stuff. See what things you can grab before Liberation of Undermine is gone:
- Ahead of the Curve: Chrome King Gallywix – Beat the final boss on Heroic difficulty
- Cutting Edge: Chrome King Gallywix – Defeat him on Mythic difficulty
- Keys to the Big G Mount – Drops from Gallywix on Mythic, guaranteed if you don’t have it yet
- Prototype A.S.M.R. Mount – Rare drop from Gallywix on any difficulty
- Renown Track Rewards – Earn renown with the Gallagio Loyalty Rewards Club
- Thunderdrum Misfire Mount – Unlockable at Renown 8
- Darkfuse Chompactor Mount – Unlockable at Renown 17
- Flarendo the Furious Mount – Unlockable at Renown 20
- Raid Teleport Unlock – Available through the raid renown track
All of these are tied to Season 2. Some mounts may stick around, but the easy ways to earn them will disappear. The guaranteed drop from Mythic Gallywix for the Big G mount goes away with the season. You’ll have to rely on low drop chances later on, which means a lot more farming. So, don’t skip this part of The War Within Season 3 preparation while you still have some time left.
The renown system will remain, but most players will leave the raid behind. That makes it harder to build groups, and rewards will take way longer to earn. If any of these items are on your wishlist, don’t wait. You still have time to get them before they vanish.
Mythic+ Achievements
Season 2 Mythic+ dungeons have some of the best rewards in the game, but they’re not sticking around. When Season 3 hits, the current dungeon pool rotates out, your rating resets, and many achievements become impossible to earn. This means that earning specific M+ achievements should be among the things to do before Season 3 in WoW for all fans of this content.
This is your last shot to push that score and scoop up the limited rewards. If you've been thinking about going for the next tier, now’s a great time to do it. A few solid runs might be all you need to land a mount, a title, or a handy dungeon teleport. And once the season ends, those will be gone for good. See what you can earn before time runs out:
- Keystone Conqueror (1500 Rating) – Title: Enterprising
- Keystone Master (2000 Rating) – Crimson Shreddertank mount
- Keystone Hero (2500 Rating) – Gallagio Highroller’s Boomstone to unlock new visual effects for your class set
- Keystone Legend (3000 Rating) – Enterprising Shreddertank mount
- Keystone Hero Dungeon Achievements – Teleports for each dungeon at Mythic+10 and above
Each dungeon teleport works account-wide, so your alts can use them too. These portals are especially useful for mount farms and future Timewalking weeks. Most of the Season 2 dungeons will disappear from the Mythic+ pool, so this is your last shot to earn those specific teleports.
The rewards are tied to rating, not difficulty alone, so run the highest keys you can time. If you’re close to a rating tier, push a little harder. Even one good dungeon clear can make the difference. This is the season’s final push, and you can make it count.
PvP Achievements
Season 2 PvP rewards are almost gone, and some of them won’t return in the same form again. If you want the exclusive mounts, titles, or elite sets, this is your last chance to get them while they’re still available.
The grind can feel intense, but the rewards are worth it, especially with the unique transmog pieces and flashy titles on the line. Focus on ranked modes like Solo Shuffle or Arena to climb your rating and lock in the best rewards before the season closes. See the things to do before Patch 11.2 regarding PvP content:
- Vicious Electro Eel mount – Earned from rated PvP, comes with both faction versions
- Elite PvP Transmog Set – Unlock pieces as you climb ratings up to 2400+
- Forged Gladiator’s Tabard – Exclusive to Elite rank at 2400 rating
- Prized Gladiator’s Fel Bat Mount – Awarded for earning the Gladiator title
- Gladiator Title – Requires 2400+ rating and 50 rated 3v3 Arena wins
The Elite set is tied to each class, so you’ll need to earn it on every character you want it for. Once the season ends, you can only get the Vicious Electro Eel with a Vicious Saddle, which is twice the effort. Gladiator is the toughest goal to hit, so start now if you want that Fel Bat. Even if you can’t climb all the way, pushing your rating now will get you closer to rewards you won’t see again. BLOG20
Delves Achievements
Delves have been a big part of Season 2, and they’re packed with rewards that won’t be easy to get once Season 3 hits. Most of the achievements, cosmetics, and toys tied to Delves are seasonal, and many of them will vanish soon.
If you enjoy solo content or quick group runs, now’s a perfect time to finish them up. A lot of this stuff is fun, unique, and way easier to earn right now than it will be later. As a part of your WoW Season 3 preparation, you want to grab this Delve-related stuff:
- Let Me Solo Him: The Underpin – Solo kill the Underpin boss to unlock a golden Delver's Gob Trotter mount
- Breaking the Bank – Beat Underpin on high difficulty for the Real Deal title
- My New Nemesis – Defeat Underpin on any difficulty for a golden back transmog
- Delve-O-Bot 7001 – Toy that teleports you to a Bountiful Delve, earned through the seasonal track
- Delver’s Gob Trotter – Buy all mount upgrades while they’re still cheap
- Overcharged Delver – Complete 4 of 6 Overcharged Delves to unlock a Hearthstone toy
- OC91 Chariot Mount – Unlock by finishing the Overcharged Delve talent tree
The OC91 mount will still be available next season, but it’ll take way more grinding. The same goes for some powers and effects from the D.I.S.C. system. Grab what you can now, because farming them later will be slower and less efficient.
If you’re missing any schematics or mount customizations, head to the vendors before prices go up. And if you like solo challenges, the Underpin fight is a must. These achievements are cool, they’re tied to Season 2, and once the patch drops, they’ll be gone.
Max Out D.I.S.C. Belt
Moving on with our TWW Patch 11.2 preparation guide, we can’t miss the D.I.S.C. Belt. This is one of the best gear pieces you can grab in Season 2. It comes with special powers that can outshine normal gear at the same item level. This belt might stay relevant deep into Season 3, so maxing it out now is a smart move. If you haven’t picked it up yet, there’s still time to unlock and fully upgrade it before the patch hits. Below, you can find a quick instruction on how to get the D.I.S.C. Belt:
- Talk to Dagran in Dornogal – He’s near Brann and the Delve crew
- Complete his quest – This sends you into an Overcharged Delve and unlocks the belt
- Collect Titan Memory Cards – Dagran gives one per week to upgrade your belt
- Catch up if needed – If you’re behind, you can complete upgrades back-to-back
- Reach item level 701 – That’s the cap, and your belt is now maxed out
- Try out all belt powers – Some may be stronger next season after buffs or nerfs
If something is still unclear, we’ve got a separate D.I.S.C. Belt Guide for you to read and find all the answers!
Each upgrade gives more strength and unlocks new belt effects. These effects might become even better in Season 3, depending on balance changes. Collecting them all now gives you flexibility later. You won’t want to stop questing mid-season to farm powers you missed. The belt is likely to stay important for many specs and classes. It’s your chance to enter Season 3 with a serious advantage, so don’t skip this step.
Turbulent Timeways Event
The Turbulent Timeways event is live right now and ends on August 5. This event is one of the best ways to level alts fast, grab extra gear, and farm Timewarped Badges for vendor rewards. It’s also the only time to earn the exclusive mount tied to this event, and missing a week could lock you out. See how to get ready for Season 3 The War Within with this event:
- Big XP Boost for Leveling – Great time to bring up fresh alts
- Timewarped Badges – Use them at event vendors for toys, mounts, gear, and more
- Chrono Corsair Mount – Earned by running four Timewalking dungeons each week for five weeks
- Battle for Azeroth Dungeons – Unique to this Timewalking event cycle
- Chance to Gear Up – Timewalking dungeons reward decent gear for fresh characters
The Chrono Corsair mount is tied to a five-week achievement, but a bug has let some players complete it early. So, depending on your progress, you might still have a shot. It’s also a perfect time to load up on Timewarped Badges if there’s anything on the vendors you want.
And since it overlaps with other bonus events, you can stack multiple buffs and farm even faster. If you want to level alts or prep side characters for the next season, don’t skip this. The rewards are solid, and the time left is short.
Winds of Mysterious Fortune Event
The Winds of Mysterious Fortune event runs until August 12, overlapping with Turbulent Timeways. During this event, you'll enjoy major bonuses that reconnect you to core Dragonflight and The War Within factions. It’s a prime opportunity to finish reputation grinds or level up fresh alts quickly. Here’s how to prepare for The War Within Season 3 while this event is up:
- +20% Bonus XP – Great for leveling characters fast
- +200% Reputation with Dragonflight Factions – Big gains if you still need rep
- +100% Reputation with The War Within Factions – Including Undermine Cartels
- Mysterious Satchels – Extra gear, potions, and stat buffs in a loot bag
- Bonus XP Potions – Stock up while buff is active
- Stacked with Timeways XP Bonus – Make the most of dual boosts
These buffs allow you to get rep goals or alts leveled quicker than ever. If you still need to earn reputation or finish faction grinds before Season 3, this is the last window. It also brings extra gear and consumables now, before the patch resets everything. Missing this would cost time and effort later when the buffs are gone.
Set Up Your Professions
Now is the perfect time to sort out your professions before Season 3 starts. This is probably among the most important The War Within Season 3 preparation tips to take into account for a smoother start. Crafted gear is still some of the best in the game, and the profession system is easier to use than ever. You don’t need to be a hardcore crafter to benefit either. With the right setup, you can make your own high-end gear without relying on the public order system.
Reason | Why It Matters |
Gilded Crests Work Everywhere | Lets you craft top-tier gear from any type of content |
Catch-up Orders Boost Skill Fast | Easy way to level up professions without farming for hours |
Crafted Gear Reaches Max Item Level | You don’t need raid or dungeon drops to gear up |
No Recipe Changes in Season 3 | What you learn now will still be useful next season |
Skip the Crafting Order Window | Craft gear yourself and avoid waiting on other players |
The best part is, you don’t need a full setup to get started. Just pick the profession that fits your class or goals, and build from there. Even basic gear upgrades can give your characters a huge boost going into Season 3. And materials will likely get more expensive once the patch hits. If you want a smooth start, handling your profession setup now is a smart move.
Use Seasonal Currencies
Before Season 3 begins, make sure to spend all of your Season 2 currencies. Most of them will be wiped or lose their value once Patch 11.2 goes live. That includes everything from upgrade tokens to Delve coins. Holding onto these won’t help you in the new season. Now is the time to cash them in for gear, transmog, toys, or reputation.
- Crests (All Types) – Gear upgrades through the upgrade vendor
- Valor Stones – Finish off upgrades or spend them freely, they’ll be gone at reset
- Restored Coffer Keys – Open chests for reputation and transmog
- Undercoins – Buy Delve schematics, cosmetics, and toys from vendors
Delve vendors still offer rewards at much lower costs than what’s coming in Season 3. Some schematics and toys will be way more expensive later, so it’s smart to grab them now. Also, look through your bags for any leftover tokens or currencies from recent events. They might give a little extra gold or something fun before they disappear. BLOG20
Clear Up Your Backpack
Before the new season kicks off, it's a good idea to clean out your bags. You’re about to pick up a flood of new gear, currencies, crafting items, and quest drops. If your inventory is full of old junk, you’ll end up wasting time sorting it later. Clearing space now makes everything smoother once Season 3 launches.
Start by tossing any Season 2 tokens, currencies, or quest items that won’t be useful anymore. If you’ve wrapped up event achievements, you can delete or bank leftover items. Check for duplicate gear, unused consumables, and any clutter you’ve been ignoring. This is also a great time to stock up on enchants, gems, and flasks while prices are still low.
Don’t forget your quest log either. Abandon anything you don’t plan to finish and clear out old dailies or side quests that you can easily pick up again. A clean slate helps you track new storylines and unlocks more easily once patch content rolls out.
Conclusion
This wraps up our guide on what to do before The War Within Season 3, travelers of Azeroth. This is your final shot to grab limited rewards, finish achievements, and prepare your characters for a smooth start. Make sure to clear the raid, push your Mythic+ score, finish PvP goals, and clean up your Delves. Spend your currencies, level your professions, and clean out your bags. Take full advantage of ongoing events while they last. A little prep now goes a long way later.
