AC Black Flag Resynced Platinum Overview

I’ll start with the important part: this is a much easier Platinum than the original Assassin's Creed 4. The old multiplayer grind is gone completely. You also don’t need to finish the campaign several times or worry about missing a trophy inside one particular mission. Here’s what you’re dealing with:

I wouldn’t follow the trophy list one challenge at a time. That would only make the whole run slower. Play through the story first, and this will already help you progress on a few passive trophies. Once the entire map is available, you can start working on forts, underwater areas, officers, collections, and Jackdaw upgrades.

And I would definitely leave most combat trophies for later. They’re easier when Edward has better equipment, and you can deliberately set up the required situation.

The 50 trophies cover the campaign, open-world activities, combat, hunting, naval battles, and several completely random things Edward apparently needs to do before PlayStation considers him a real pirate. I’ve split the full list into categories below.

Story Trophies

This is the section where your Platinum awaits you. All other achievements here are tied to your story progression, and you’ll earn them naturally by just playing through the campaign. See all the story trophies in AC Black Flag Resynced:

Exploration and Collection Trophies

This is a larger section, and you’ll probably have to spend a lot of time to complete everything here. I already see players struggling with achievements like Owned or Davy Jones’s Locker, for example. But completing Owned would be much easier if you do it on Abaco Island in the opening hours, since it’s the smallest location in the game with only seven tasks. The individual tasks aren’t difficult, but there are a lot of them. Cartographer, Dilettante, Seven Deadly Seas, and Governor will keep you busy for much longer than any random combat trophy. I would focus on Officers and forts before serious world cleanup. They help your overall progression and make later activities more comfortable.

Combat and Hunting Trophies

This is the achievement category I don’t like much. It takes too much patience and can be very situational. But in practice, it might be a bit easier than on paper. You just need to meet the exact requirements described below:

The Hangman is the only one I would work on throughout the game. You need 10 rope dart hanging kills, so use them naturally when you get the chance. Gun-kata and Let Me Explain are better saved until your equipment supports the challenge properly. Trying them early only creates extra work.

Naval Trophies

The name of this category speaks for itself. But this is what I’ve always liked about original AC 4 Black Flag, and this is what I enjoy even more in its Resynced version. Fighting ships, exploring the sea, and all that stuff is what makes this part of the franchise so special. See what naval trophies you can earn:

I’m sure you’ll earn most of these trophies by just upgrading the Jackdaw. It’ll take the biggest part of your time here. Along with that, you’ll fight strong ships, build Kenway's Fleet, collect money, and explore the sea for other trophies at the same time.

Devil of the Caribbean is the hardest actual fight in the trophy list. Save the legendary ships until the Jackdaw is upgraded enough. It’s the same logic as if you want to have the best trinkets for your character to be at your peak during a fight. Last To Leave deserves more attention because it depends on the right sea event appearing.

I would check burning ships whenever you come across them. When you do so, check if it has a chair there because most ships won’t have it. You need to find the right ship and sit in this chair before it sinks.

Miscellaneous Trophies

This is the category with the trophies that don’t belong to any other one. They’re all Bronze and easy to earn. Check out a complete list below:

They’re all super straightforward, and you’ll probably earn those achievements by just playing. Even if not, you can complete them in a few minutes when you need to.

 

 

Trophies You Should Start Early

There are no missable trophies, but that doesn’t mean every challenge should be ignored until the credits. I would remember these five achievements you want to start working ASAP in AC Black Flag Resynced.

Dilettante

Start using Kenway's Fleet after it becomes available.

The trophy asks you to complete the manor displays, and part of that progression comes from Fleet activities. Starting early lets you get the trophy while you’re doing something else. Leaving the entire thing for the end can turn your Platinum cleanup into waiting.

Last To Leave

Check Burning Ship events whenever you notice one at sea. The trophy requires the correct ship setup, and random events are always more annoying when you actively need one particular result. You may find the right ship naturally during the story. Take advantage of that.

The Hangman

You need 10 hanging kills with the rope dart. Start using this move after unlocking the weapon instead of farming all 10 kills during post-game cleanup.

Glutton for Nourishment

Food only helps when Edward has taken damage. If you always heal another way, you can finish the game with almost no progress here. Eat the food you find and move on. But make sure you don’t use your healing charges because they don’t count. You only need to eat food found in the environment, like berry bushes, and be below full HP to make it count.

Ed the Diver

The trophy counts underwater distance outside dedicated shipwreck areas. Do some regular diving while exploring instead of leaving yourself with 1,000 meters of pointless swimming later.

Best Order to Get the Platinum

I’ve got my personal route to the Platinum in AC Black Flag Resynced to share, guys. This has done great for me so far, and I do hope that you’ll use it as well:

Finish the Main Story

Play the way you like and unlock the full world. During this part, start working on:

• Dilettante
• The Hangman
• Glutton for Nourishment
• Ed the Diver
• Last To Leave

You don’t need to chase anything else aggressively at this point.

Recruit Officers and Capture Forts

These activities help with the rest of the cleanup and should come before random collectible hunting.

Clear the Open World

Finish:

• Underwater Shipwrecks
• Remaining locations
• Templar Hunts
• Great Inagua upgrades
• Animal interactions
• Other regional activities

I would clear one area at a time.

Finish the Jackdaw and Manor

At this point, focus on:

• Ship upgrades
• Ultimate Plans
• Great Inagua displays
• Kenway's Fleet progress

This should remove most of the long trophies from the whole list.

Defeat Legendary Ships and Finish Small Challenges

Take down the legendary ships with your upgraded Jackdaw. After that, check the remaining trophy list. Most combat and miscellaneous challenges can be finished quickly when you’re deliberately setting them up.
