Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced Best Builds

In this Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced best builds article, you’ll find out what combinations of weapons, trinkets, and gadgets will make you an unstoppable force. Note that when I say builds, I don’t mean that in a classic RPG sense. No +40% to bleeding when the enemy is downed. This time it’s closer to COD loadouts than anything else.

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced Best Builds Quick Summary:

  • Builds in Black Flag Resynced work more like loadouts, combining a weapon, firearm, and trinket around one playstyle
  • Active Shooter is my best pistol build, using ricochet shots and Wooden Eyeball to deal with multiple enemies quickly
  • Cloud of Knives is the most chaotic AoE build, while Black & Blue is built around maximum melee damage at low HP
  • Inigo Montoya is the best parry build, with Ezio's Swords letting you counter normally unblockable attacks
  • Several of the strongest weapons come from Animus Projects, so completing Anomalies as you find them saves a painful grind later

Unlocking some of the best weapons requires grinding the Animus anomalies, which is long and not necessarily fun. Let our AC Black Flag Resynced Pirate for Hire handle it for you and use the weapons they unlock for the best builds.

Powerful and Fun Builds for AC Black Flag Resynced

Our “builds” are going to be built around legendary weapons and trinkets that will help you flesh them out more. Don’t worry, legendary items are far more widespread than they should be, in all honesty. Getting Darkworker’s Pistols or Lightserver’s Blades is far easier than you think. Below, I’ll present five builds that will fit various styles of gameplay:

  • Active Shooter: Who knew switches were allowed on flintlocks
  • Ninja Pirate: Straight from childhood dreams
  • Inigo Montoya: All about riposte
  • Cloud of Knives: AoE Galore
  • Black & Blue: Dancing with death

Each of these builds focuses on making the gameplay drastically different from the others, but you should know that these aren’t some Diablo/PoE-level builds where you have to pick perfect stats or stuff. It’s the easiest form of buildcrafting, and I’m quite sure that you’ll be able to create even more of your own builds once you find more legendary weapons and powerful trinkets. Fair warning, though. Some of these builds require you to complete Animus anomalies to get the needed equipment, and sometimes a lot of them, so yeah, grinding is inevitable. I’ll explain how you can get them at the end of the article. For now, let me tell you about the best loadouts for AC Black Flag Resynced that I was able to cook up.

Active Shooter - Best Pistol Build

Pistols are bonkers in AC Black Flag Resynced. So are the builds that use them. This build creates an endless barrage of bullets to send your enemies to Davy Jones’ locker. To get this build going, you’ll need:

  • Weapon: Le Bourgeyos Blades / Order of Gold
  • Firearm: Dark Animus Corsair Flintlocks
  • Trinket: Wooden Eyeball

I couldn’t decide between the two, so I decided to leave the choice up to you. Le Bourgeyos Blades fire an extra shot each time you use Heavy Strike, and Order of Gold automatically fires a shot after a Perfect Dodge. Technically, the first one is easier to perform, but the second one is flashier. The Dark Animus pistols are absolutely insane and, in my opinion, are one of the best firearms in the game. They ricochet the bullet you shot to the second target, whether it’s an enemy or an explosive barrel. That’s precisely why I suggest using Wooden Eyeball, since it allows you to kill Brutes with one pistol shot and, well, with ricochets, you can kill two Brutes with one stone.

Ninja Pirate - Best Stealth Build

AC has moved from its stealth action roots a long time ago, but this doesn’t stop me from trying to create a perfect assassin build every time. This build tries to imitate that approach, but honestly, in this remake it’s kind of useless. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Weapon: Naoe’s Shadowblade
  • Firearm: Darkworker’s Pistols / Peaceful Means
  • Trinket: Fortunate Circle Charm

Naoe’s Shadowblade is only obtainable through the Animus exchange menu, and it gives you bigger Perfect Parry and Dodge windows, which is cool if we want to roleplay as a nimble ninja. Dressed in pirate garb, I know. Darkworker’s Pistols don’t consume ammo when you’re anonymous, but once you shoot them, everyone will know of your presence, so it’s more of an opener than a stealth tool. There’s another pistol called Peaceful Means that makes the pistol shot quieter, but I never tested it, so I don’t know if it’s truly quiet enough for you to be a hitman or not. Finally, the Fortunate Circle Charm just completes the Ninja playstyle, since after a perfect dodge, you become immune to damage.

Inigo Montoya - Best Parry Build

This build is all about countering your opponents' attempts of attacking you. You can parry everything, except for a bullet. There’s another weapon for that, but I don’t find it as enticing. Here’s what you need to play as a master fencer:

  • Weapon: Ezio's Swords
  • Firearm: Golden Flintlock Pistols
  • Trinket: Lock of Hair

Ezio’s Swords are just like Naoe’s Shadowblade in that you can only get them through the Animus exchange store. Still, they’re worth it, as many consider them to be the contenders for the best sword in the game. They let you parry even the unblockable attacks. Golden Flintlock Pistols slow time after you kill the enemy, so if you don’t want to land only headshots to make this build work, upgrade them. Finally, Lock of Hair restores your HP after a perfect parry.

Cloud of Knives - Best AoE Build

Lowkey, this is my favorite build from the list, cause I love big explosions and meaty strikes. This build leaves no one safe and does a lot of collateral damage, so be careful. Very chaotic, but very fun:

  • Weapon: Dark Animus Corsair Pistol Swords
  • Firearm: Gargoyle's Breath
  • Trinket: Demon-forged Pendant

The Dark Animus sword deals damage to enemies around you when you kill another enemy with it. The Gargoyle’s Breath shoots explosive rounds, but bear in mind that it consumes 100 reales per shot. Don’t get lost in the sauce and leave with empty pockets. The Demon-forged Pendant isn’t a necessary Trinket, and you can easily swap it out with anything else, but I think it just completes the chaotic nature of this build, cause it sets on fire enemies hit by a Berserk dart.

Black & Blue - Highest Damage Build

I usually don’t like builds that rely on you having low HP, but this one is so much easier to pull off thanks to the trinket we’re gonna be using in it. Basically, it’s a berserker build. The lower the HP, the more damage you deal. Risky, you say? Well, yeah, but not really:

  • Weapon: Dual Cleavers
  • Firearm: Any pistol
  • Trinket: Templar Cross

Firearm is secondary here cause it’s purely a melee build, so put anything you like. Maybe something that heals you upon killing. The Dual Cleavers increase the damage you deal when you’re low on HP, which is dangerous, but only if you don’t have a Templar Cross. With Templar Cross, you can soak more damage without risking dying from the next strike. Yeah, this build requires some setup to work, but it’s not that difficult, really. Very fun and hard-hitting.

How to Get Animus Rewards to Unlock Legendary Weapons

Unfortunately, the strongest weapons are locked behind the Animus Projects, so if you want to get them, you’ll have to grind just a little. I recommend doing the anomalies as you encounter them if you don’t want to go insane from grinding the mundane tasks. Some of the legendary weapons you can get are:

  • Altair’s Swords
  • Ezio’s Swords
  • Naoe’s Shadowblade
  • Dark Animus Corsair Flintlocks
  • Dark Animus Corsair Pistol Swords

I assume with more updates you’ll get to see even more weapons, since the Projects are just glorified free Battle Passes. Here’s how you can claim these weapons:

  1. Open main menu
  2. Hold the Create or View button on PS5 and XBOX controllers, respectively
  3. The Projects window will open, from where you can choose any of the three currently available
  4. Navigate to the Exchange window by pressing R1/RB two times
  5. Choose any of the three legendary swords you want to get

These three blades are worth 3000 Animus Keys, which you can get by doing the battle pass quests and Anomalies. These activities drop 30 keys for completing one, but completing bigger goals will reward anywhere between 200 and 500 keys, so it’s not that hard to get them fairly quickly. The Dark Animus weapons are unlockable only in Projects by gaining data fragments, which are the form of battle pass XP, to put it bluntly.
