Fellowship Gearing Guide

Common to Champion loot is pretty straightforward. It provides you with primary and secondary stats and is designed to help you climb even further. Now, when it comes to Relic and Legendary, they’re unique. First of all, you can only wear 2 Relic items and only 1 Legendary item. 

• Relic items: Provide some utility skills that can be used by everyone in the party. They’re situational and can be useful for some dungeons and useless for others. 
• Legendary items: A huge boost in many ways. They have insane stats, give you a 100% essence bonus, and have unique effects. They are so powerful that it makes sense to build your whole kit around them.

Understanding the rarity is essential before proceeding with an explanation of how to gear up in Fellowship.

How to Get Gear in Fellowship

The short answer is to play the game. Of course, this is not a good explanation. Don’t listen to anyone telling you that there’s no right answer to how to get gear in Fellowship. Let us share a quick list explaining how to do it the cool way:

1. Do the Quickplay: Farm Supplies and Marks of Fellowship to buy the weekly Supply Box and to progress the Starmap.
2. Speedrun the Dungeons: Do each of them once per League to hit the Starmap gear thresholds. Spend the Supplies/Marks to fill the gaps in your gear.
3. Time Capstone Dungeons: Timing the dungeon unlocks higher Quartermaster gear tiers and allows you to further improve your weak slots.
4. Farm the Capstone: Each Capstone Dungeon gives you loot from the next League, so farm until you’re comfortable and then move up.
5. Get the Epic Weapon: Try to get the purple weapon in The Heart of Tuzari on your first 5 timed runs. If you fail to do so, move on to Champion dungeons and farm up there.
6. Use Arcane Mithril: When you get an Epic weapon, reroll it at Craftsman till you get the right one for you. Mind that starting from the Epic tier, weapons have talents, which grant the biggest powerspike in the game.
7. Target Farm: All dungeons have predetermined set items in them. Prioritize farming the dungeons that give set bonuses that are right for your Hero.
8. Gem Up: In the earlier stages, invest in 2 Gem Color columns. In the later stages, focus on one color (don’t forget that Legendaries double the Gems’ effectiveness)
9. Get the Legendary: You get one random Legendary for timing the Drakheim Capstone Dungeon.

If you feel like this is not enough for understanding ways to obtain gear fast in Fellowship, don’t worry. We’re going to break down some of the points mentioned below, as well as explain some other things.

Quickplay

First thing you wanna do is to finish 9 Quickplay runs in order to unlock your Hero’s abilities. You will also get just enough supplies to buy a full Quartermaster set. You can push even further and do 16 dungeons to get a random ILVL 90 weapon to simplify your progression. After you do these, don’t wait and hop on Challenger Leagues. Finishing the Quickplay dungeons rewards you with account-wide currencies like Supplies and Marks. Always prioritize buying a weekly Supply Box before anything else. The sooner you do this, the easier it will be to progress later in the game.

Pro Tip: Do not spend your Marks of Fellowship on Quartermaster gear until you’ve hit the two Starmap gear thresholds for that League. If you do, you’ll risk getting the same items you’d get for free on the Starmap.

Upgrade your Gear

The easiest way how to upgrade gear in Fellowship is to invest your Gold in it. Generally, there are two ways to do it. One of them is to preserve your Gold until you’re about to tackle a Capstone Dungeon and only then upgrade your gear. Another option is easier: you simply invest in gear pieces you like, and then you can scrap them. Speaking of which.

Gear Scrapping

Gear scrapping in Fellowship is pretty friendly. When you salvage your gear, you receive approximately 70% of your invested Gold back. This generally means that you can upgrade whatever you like, but still have to be mindful of how much you spend on your gear. Always think twice, because Gold in the early game is not that easy to get. You can also scrap unneeded gear that you get from the dungeons, which is another way to get Gold in this game.

Capstone Dungeons

These dungeons are a test of whether you’re undergeared for the next League or not. They’re by far the fastest way to get gear in Fellowship. There’s a rule of thumb for when you should attempt a Capstone. Once you hit the Hero Talent on the Starmap, it’s time to go at it. Nobody forbids you from attempting them earlier, but this will make your progress easier and faster. If you're looking for a bit of a challenge, go for it.

Epic Weapon

One of the unique mechanics in this game is Weapon Traits. They begin to appear once you get an Epic rarity weapon. It’s important to get the proper Traits, as you will not switch from this weapon soon. Useful Weapon Traits vary from hero to hero, but Inspired Allegiance and Visions of Grandeur are two that every class will capitalize on. If you don’t get the needed weapon, spend your Arcane Mithril to reroll it. This will allow you to choose from three weapons.

Gems and Their Colors

Beyond spending Gold, the second choice for how to upgrade gear in Fellowship is Gems. Gems get much more important in later stages of the game, but you shouldn’t ignore them when you get some. They have their own Gem Trees with tiers, where higher levels of these Trees grant some crazy bonuses for your character. There are a total of 6 Gem Trees.

Let’s dive into a short explanation of each Gem Tree color:

• Red: Good against bosses, grants bonuses when your Hero’s HP is above 80%.
• Purple: It’s all about crits. You get a higher critical chance after engaging enemies.
• Yellow: All it does is give you Haste bonuses. Nuff said.
• Green: Grants you Expertise bonuses as well as Cooldown Reduction on the higher levels.
• Blue: Boosts your Spirit level and also your Ultimate.
• White: Generic tree. Boosts all stats, boosts your magic resistance, and lowers the Relic skills cooldowns.

When you get into the later stages of the game, you’ll get gear with Essence Bonuses. Prioritize putting Gems of the needed color in gear with a higher Essence Bonus percentage. BLOG20
