Torghast in 9.2 update: Jailer’s Gauntlet

Behold the huge change to Torghast gameplay, which is a part of Eternity’s End update: the Jailer’s Gauntlet wing. Here you will face fast-paced, mainly single-target encounters, with new awesome rewards and lots of Soul Ash and Soul Cinders.

Any player who did not appreciate the Torghast’s labyrinth-like wings with lots of trash and traps, will certainly like Jailer’s Gauntlet gameplay. On each layer, you will find one big room, with a small number of powerful enemies, which is faster, but not necessarily easier to get through.

The encounter itself will follow this pattern: Once you enter the arena there will be two to four portals and a starting group of enemies (or one elite enemy). Once you kill the initial mob pack, a powerful elite or group of weaker enemies will appear from one of the portals. You will need to defeat them before the timer runs up, otherwise you have to deal with two or more waves simultaneously. It may seem easy on lower layers, but the higher you get, the deadlier the enemies that spawn from the portals. Also, at each layer’s beginning, you can get a range of powerful Anima powers. Overall, this is very different from what has been previously presented in Torghast Tower of the Damned.

• No more labyrinth-like maps;
• Quick Soul Ash and Soul Cinders.

Is Jailer's Gauntlet boost good for Legendary farming? 

Yes. Completion of each layer will grant you a significant amount of Soul Ash and Soul Cinders (starting at layer 2). For example, you will get 460 Soul Cinders and 1800 Soul Ash for layer 3. Remember though, these resources will not help you craft new 9.2 legendaries. Also, there is a random chance to get a Death-Bound Shard (a conduit-upgrade item) and various cosmetics.

As was stated by the developers, they do not like that players essentially have to farm Torghast to progress in the game. So they decided to make Torghast quicker and more rewarding, and to make it unnecessary in Runecarwing, since all new Legendary pieces will come from Zereth Mortis.

Since old Torghast wings were not very popular among players, we hope Jailer’s Gauntlet wing will be more interesting and challenging.
