How to Unlock the Quest?

To unlock Champion’s Quest, your squad needs to meet one of two requirements:

Requirement How It Works
5 Consecutive Wins Win five Core Battle Royale matches in a row.
30 Total Wins Win 30 Core Battle Royale matches within a single season.

After your squad becomes eligible, the quest does not begin automatically. You still need to enter a match and secure the Champion’s Contract from a designated contract briefcase. Picking up that briefcase activates the Champion’s Quest objective chain.

Successfully completing Champion’s Quest removes eligibility from all squad members until a new contract is earned. So no, you cannot just chain free nuke attempts forever. The game is rude like that.

How to Get Ready for The Nuke Quest

Before you can know how do you drop a nuke in Warzone, let’s first help you get those wins, shall we?

  • Get a reliable squad. Champion’s Quest is not built for random teammates who push every red dot like it owes them money.
  • Play for wins, not clips. Your first goal is unlocking the contract, so avoid useless fights.
Use safe landing spots. You need cash, plates, weapons, and a stable early game.
  • Rotate early. Late rotations are even more dangerous when the whole lobby wants your contract.
  • Carry smokes. Smokes are still one of the best tools for revives, crossings, and objective movement.
  • Keep vehicles alive. The new quest has map-wide movement, so mobility matters a lot.
  • Assign roles. Decide who leads rotations, who carries key items, who watches flanks, and who handles buys.

These tips will help you get 5 consecutive wins and getting a nuke in Warzone.

How to Start the Champion’s Contract

Once your squad is eligible, you need to find the Champion’s Contract briefcase during a Core Battle Royale match. This is the item that starts the actual Champion’s Quest.

After the contract begins, your squad enters a multi-step objective chain. The new version is more dynamic than the older nuke format. Instead of only collecting three elements and defending one bomb site, your squad now has to move across the map, complete randomized objectives, and survive match-wide attention.

That means every Champion’s Quest run can feel different. Objective locations can change, public events can interfere, and enemy squads can contest your progress at several points.

How to Complete the Champion’s Quest?

The updated Champion’s Quest is a multi-step objective chain. The exact locations can change, but the main structure includes several major objectives.

Step Objective What You Need To Do
1 Secure the Champion’s Contract Find the designated briefcase and activate the quest.
2 Transport the Radioactive Isotope Pick up and move the isotope while enemy squads can contest your squad.
3 Recover the Hard Drive Locate and secure the hard drive objective.
4 Escort the Missile Transport Vehicle Protect the missile transport vehicle as it moves to randomized destinations.
5 Finish the Quest Chain Complete the remaining objective sequence and survive the match-wide pressure.

The hardest part is not just finishing the objectives. The real problem is that Champion’s Quest turns your squad into the main event. Other teams can see enough information to track your progress, contest your route, and intercept important items.

Because of that, you need to treat every objective like a public fight. Clear the area before committing, use smokes before crossing open ground, and avoid standing still for too long. If the lobby knows where you are going, assume at least one squad is already waiting there.

What Are Champion’s Quest (CQ) Tokens?

Champion’s Quest tokens are another way to earn future access to Champion’s Quest progress. The main unlock path is still five consecutive Core Battle Royale wins or 30 total wins in one season, but the updated system gives squads more ways to work toward a contract.

The biggest alternate method is disrupting another squad’s Champion’s Quest run. Steal a key item from them, extract it at the designated helipad, and your squad can earn a Champion’s Quest token for a future match.

After the first world-first Champion’s Quest completion happens, the Golden Ticket public event system unlocks. Golden Ticket events create rare alternative opportunities to earn progress toward a Champion’s Quest token. They are not guaranteed, but they give the rest of the lobby more reason to engage with Champion’s Quest even when they did not unlock it themselves.

F.A.Q.

Can you get a nuke in Warzone?

Yes, you can get a nuke in Warzone by unlocking and completing Champion’s Quest. To become eligible, your squad needs either five consecutive Core Battle Royale wins or 30 total Core Battle Royale wins within a single season.

Is Champion’s Quest available in Resurgence?

No, the current Champion’s Quest appears to be tied to Core Battle Royale, not Rebirth Island or standard Resurgence. Older Rebirth Island nuke rules should not be used for the current version unless a separate Resurgence quest is confirmed.

How many kills do you need for a Warzone nuke?

Kills are not the main requirement for getting a nuke in Warzone. You need to unlock Champion’s Quest through wins, then complete the contract objectives during a live match. Getting kills helps you survive, but it does not directly unlock the quest.

How do you start Champion’s Quest?

Once your squad is eligible, you need to find the Champion’s Contract briefcase during a Core Battle Royale match. Picking it up starts the new multi-step quest chain, including objectives like transporting a radioactive isotope, recovering a hard drive, and escorting a missile transport vehicle.

Can other squads steal your Champion’s Quest?

Yes, enemy squads can contest your Champion’s Quest run. If they steal a key item and extract it at a designated helipad, they can earn a Champion’s Quest token for a future match. So once the quest starts, expect the lobby to treat your squad like free content.

What rewards do you get for completing Champion’s Quest?

Champion’s Quest has a completion-based reward track. The first completion gives you:

  1. “Containment Crew - Alpha” Weapon Camo
  2. “Axia” Grimm Animated Operator Skin

More completions unlock extra rewards, including animated calling cards, emblems, camos, a melee blueprint, an emote, and a finishing move.
