First things first, Escape from Tarkov Ground Zero map is not just a new location in the game. This is the map that everyone is forced to play on at the start after a wipe. From now on, the first available quests that you will accept from the traders will all make you go there. This map was designed for new players with the goal of making it easier for them to get used to the harsh realities of the game. To achieve that, this map will only be available to players who are below level 20. Scavs can go there any time. This map has almost all the essential mechanics that other maps have, and we’re going to talk about them all in just a minute.
Ground Zero Map Quests
When you start the game in patch 0.14, you’ll have new starting quests available to you. Let’s start our Ground Zero map guide by naming what they are:
- Skier’s “Burning Rubber” - you’ll be given 5000 rubles and asked to use the paid extraction.
- Therapist’s “First In Line” - you’re tasked with finding the medical station somewhere on the map and you must bring any 3 medication items, no matter what they are.
- Prapor’s “Shooting Cans” - you’re tasked with killing any 5 targets on Ground Zeroes. They can be either other PMCs or Scavs.
- Mechanic’s “Saving The Mole” - you’re tasked with finding the missing scientist and recovering his hard drive.
- Prapor’s “Luxurious Life” - is not a starting quest, but a quest on this map that will have you locate a liquor store somewhere on the map.
These are all the EFT Ground Zero quests available on this map; now, let’s give you exact details on how to complete each one.
Burning Rubber Quest Guide
This could be the easiest quest that you will ever do. You must find the black SUV and use it to extract from the location. As with any other paid extraction on other maps, this extraction point is available to you regardless of your starting position. It becomes inaccessible if someone has already used it. Another thing to know if you’re new to the game is that after you’ve paid the money, you must wait 60 seconds before you can extract, which is way longer than any normal extract where you have to wait only 15 seconds.
Here’s how you find your Ground Zero extraction points for the quest:
The extraction point you’re looking for is called the Police Checkpoint, and it is located at the end of the street between the Terragroup building and the Empire building. Your point of reference would be the main entrance of the Terragroup building, the extraction point would be to your right side. Look for the black SUV with glowing stoplights. BLOG20
First In Line Quest Guide
This quest will have you locate the Emercom Station, which coincidentally is another extraction point.
Finding it is not very difficult. It is located behind the Skyside building which is situated just across the street from the Terragroup building. Your Escape from Tarkov Ground Zero strategy for finding this place is this - face the Terragroup main entrance just like before and turn left this time. Follow the road to the end and then turn left, go a bit further, and to your right-hand side, you should be able to see the Unity Credit Bank. The Emercom Checkpoint is located in front of the back, right on the parking lot. When you get close enough, the quest objective will be marked as completed. If you want to use this extract, just go closer to the entrance of the bank where there’s a body to the left side of the door, and you will be able to extract.
For the second part of this quest, you will need to find 3 medical items. Of course, you can try to kill players who, in 99% of cases, will have healing items in their pockets. But if you want to find these items in the loot, you’ll have to look around:
- Check the Emercom station
- Check the dead bodies laying around the map
- Check office buildings, especially the upper floors
There’s no point in a separate Ground Zero map loot guide because there are not a lot of hidden containers, and you will be easily able to run into 3 or more of these medicine items.
Shooting Cans Quest Guide
This quest will have you engage in some firefights, so you better come prepared. This map will always have players, but the good thing is that they’ll not be geared in some ridiculous armor and use some laser-point accurate weapons. This should give you an edge. Where do you find player enemies? If you don’t know all the PMC spawn points, make a mental note of all the quest-important places that we’re showing you because that’s where players will most likely be heading.
As for Scavs, there are a few places where they almost certainly spawn:
- Outside the main entrance of the Terragroup building
- The underground level parking area
- Empire building
- Fusion building
- Any major road between the main four buildings
The second part of the quest will have you locate two stationary weapons, both of which are strategically placed on the second floor of several buildings.
- The AGS grenade launcher is located on the second floor of the Capital building. Go inside and take the escalator on the right side. Turn right and go up the stairs. The second office on the left side will have the grenade launcher set to cover the road leading to the Terragroup building.
- The Utyos machine gun is located on the second floor of the Empire building. Go inside the main entrance and to the back corridor behind the reception, and take the stairs up. You’re going to have to go through the barbwire on the staircase. Reach the fifth floor and turn left and then right, and you’ll see the mounted machine gun overlooking the entrance of the Terragroup building.
These are the two EFT Ground Zero map locations that you need to visit in order to complete this quest’s objective.
Saving the Mole Quest Guide
In this quest, you’ll be visiting the Terragroup building. You’ll have to do a couple of steps. First, you must find the dead scientist and take his key. Then, you need to locate the right door that this key unlocks, open it, and find the hard drive. Let’s go over everything step by step.
- Enter the building from the main entrance or the parking area.
- To the right side and behind the reception desk, just by the giant cat statue, you’ll see a hallway; go there. At the end, you’ll see that it is blocked by the rubble, and that’s where you’ll find the scientist. He’ll have a key.
- Go back into the lobby and turn left when facing the entrance. Go up the stairs to the second floor. Turn right, and you’ll see offices marked with numbers. You should see the number 3 right away and to the right is the door to the office number 4. That’s the one you need to open. In the center of the office, you’ll see a desk with a working computer and two monitors. On that desk, you’ll find the drive. Take it and extract.
Here’s one of a few Tarkov Ground Zero map tips - there’s an alternative route. You don’t have to get the key because it may be too dangerous to waste time on it. Thankfully, this objective is optional. Instead, what you can do is go inside office number 3, which has a cafeteria. As soon as you enter, come to the window that you see. Jump on the windowsill and use the outside to cross to the office number four on the right. Use your knife to smash the window and enter the office. You’re going to have to leave the same way you came because you won’t open the door from the inside without the key.
Luxurious Life Quest Guide
For this one, all you have to do is locate the winery store called ASAP Winery, located just outside the Skyside building which is just across the street from the Terragroup building.
Extraction Points
Extraction points are how you survive your raids and return with the collected loot. Your active exits depend on which side of the map you spawned. You will always have to cross the entire map to exit and do the complete Ground Zero map walkthrough. There are a couple of regular exits and a few conditional ones. The two most interesting ones are the one where you have to convince a Scav player to extract together and the one where you need to use a specific item, which is a flare, to activate the extraction.
Extraction | Requirements | Notes |
Nakatani Basement Stairs | Available based on your spawn point | Nakatani building is situated on the edge of the map. Inside, you will find the lobby with elevators, and at the end, there will be stairs. Use them to go down to find the extraction. |
Police Cordon V-Ex | 5000 Roubles per player, Maximum of 4 players | The exit is to the right side of the Terragroup entrance. Look for the black SUV parked on the road. |
Emercom Checkpoint | Available based on your spawn point | The exit is behind the Skyside in the Unity Credit Bank |
Mira Ave |
Use either:
|
Turn around, facing the entrance of the Terragroup, and use the main road to go down the street and then turn right. You’ll see signs saying that you need to use the flair. |
Scav Checkpoint (Co-op) | Scav + PMC | This exit requires at least two players, one has to be a Scav and the other PMC. This exit is located on the opposite side of the Emercome Checkpoint exit. |
The exits on this map aren’t hard to find. If you know your way around the Terragroup building you’ll be able to easily find your way to the extraction available to you.
