Zero Hour Mission Re-Release Additional Info
The weekly reset on 05/14/2024 has opened access to the mission and the exotic quest that goes along with it. The mission has a time limit of 40 minutes on Normal difficulty and 20 minutes on Legendary. The recommended power levels are similar to the Whisper mission:
- Normal - 1810
- Legendary - 1830
To start the mission, you need to accept the quest called "Asset Protection," which you can get from ADA-1 in the Annex of the Tower.
Zero Hour Best Fireteam Composition
It is said that this mission can be done with any combination of classes, but if you want to be sure that your fireteam can complete it, it must include the following sub-classes:
- Sunbreaker Titan - to deal with high-ranking enemies using Hammer Strike
- Gunslinger Hunter - his ultimate Golden Gun or the Blade Barrage will be most welcome in mission encounters.
- Dawnblade Warlock - for a support role with his Well of Radiance is a welcome sight. Besides, the Attunement of Flame will help clear adds (easy-to-kill enemies) more easily.
That’s not to say that other combinations of classes can’t clear this mission. They definitely can, especially if they have the Whisper of the Worm - the most essential weapon for this mission. Yes, sniper rifles aren’t great in PvE when you want something like an assault rifle or a light machine gun. However, Whisperer of the Worm can easily deal with high-rank enemies who have yellow health. There’ll be a lot of them during this mission, so make sure at least one member of your fireteam has this gun. What will also help is having weapons with different elements on each guardian. There’ll be lots of shielded enemies as well, and you want to make sure you can deal with them as fast as possible by using the weapon with the right element to disable the shields.
Zero Hour Full Walkthrough
This mission begins on Earth. You need to find and activate 6 Fallen Transponder nodes found in different regions of the map. Then you can go to the Farm and speak with Mithrax, the Forsaken. He will initiate the mission and help your fireteam in the first minutes.
Encounter #1: Tower North
Upon landing, stick close to the left wall for cover and proceed through the doors. Take the right vent as soon as it's accessible. In the open area, position yourself to the left for cover against enemies. Prioritize eliminating Shanks and Captains with the appropriate elemental damage to clear the area efficiently. Aim to have at least 19 minutes remaining on the clock before moving on. BLOG20
Encounter #2: Tower Hangar
Focus on eliminating snipers positioned on the walkways while another fireteam member utilizes their super to clear enemies on the left side. Pay special attention to taking out Servitors first to prevent them from providing shields to other enemies. Once the upper level is clear, shift focus to enemies below, including the initial Spider tank encounter. Utilize Whisper of the Worm for quick takedowns.
Encounter #3:Tower Watch
Navigate through the halls, dispatching enemies along the way. Look for a tunnel hidden under a plane, which leads to the next section. Proceed through the tunnel, dropping down to access the next area.
Encounter #4: Passage
When you end up in the next area, you should turn on 180 degrees to see the closed gate just behind some kind of boxes. You can shoot it to open the path into the vents. Navigate the walkway to the Tower's wall, where you'll find a hanging object. Use a "tricky" jump technique to reach the catwalk and activate a lever for teammates, saving valuable time. Follow the vent path to reach an elevator shaft.
Encounter #5: Ventilation
Upon dropping down, locate a vent on the right side and crawl through it. Activate four levers scattered throughout the maze below to progress, ensuring you split your team to cover more ground efficiently. Beware of a patrolling robot that can instantly kill, necessitating caution and stealth. Pulling levers activates electrical barriers; wait for them to disappear before advancing. Exit through the opposite side from where you entered.
Encounter #6: Vault
Drop into the Vault area and approach a Cryptarch symbol to reveal a hidden vault. Cross the white tiles to reach the vault on the normal version. The heroic version has a more complex version of this puzzle where the correct path depends on the active element during the week’s rotation. Refer to the image above to find the right path.
Encounter #7: Tower Ruins - Siriks, Loyal to Eramis
Engage in the final boss encounter with Siriks, Loyal to Eramis, in the Tower Ruins area. Utilize Whisper of the Worm to deal significant damage while minimizing damage received from enemy fire. Prioritize defeating major Servitors to prevent them from providing shields to Siriks. The best way to deal with the Spider Tanks is by using the Whisper of the Worm sniper rifle. Once Siriks and all enemies are defeated, the mission concludes, and you'll obtain Outbreak Perfected. BLOG20

This is switch #2:
The gimmick of this weapon is that it creates a swarm of Nanites when you shoot. This swarm attaches to targets, dealing additional damage. Meanwhile, Rapid Hit perk makes rapid precision hits temporarily increase stability and reload speed.
Conclusion
This is a rather small mission that will throw a lot of enemies your way. You’ll have to go through narrow corridors and open areas, adapting your combat style to the situation at hand. Make sure to communicate with your fireteam members to be able to overcome each fight as soon as possible.
There are a few boss encounters and difficult enemies sprinkled across the mission, and depending on how fast you can deal with the enemies leading to these encounters will determine whether or not you’re going to have a tough time dealing with the bosses. Nevertheless, Outbreak Perfected is worth the effort.
