Throne and Liberty Leveling System Explained
Before we jump to the main idea of this article, it is essential to add a few words on how Throne and Liberty leveling system works. Why is that so important? The dev team promises us to renovate it completely. Of course, certain basic principles of all MMORPGs will remain unchanged but the devs have done their best to bring something new to their project.
In most cases, the path to the fastest way to level in Throne and Liberty revolves around completing contracts or you can call them quests if you wish so. If you think there is nothing renovating about this part of leveling, you are so wrong! In TL, we have four different types of contracts we are going to share below:
- Main Storyline Contracts – Purple;
- Exploration/Side Contracts – Blue;
- Resistance/Daily Contracts – Yellow;
- Guild Contracts – Green.
While some of the contract types mentioned above should be already familiar to you if you have ever played any other MMORPG game, so-called Guild Contracts are something new to explore. All of these quest types feature their own colors and work independently from one another.
Throne and Liberty Max Level
As of today, Throne and Liberty max level is 50 yet this number might change with future updates. At the same time, the devs claim that Throne and Liberty XP farming will not be as tiresome as it is in most other titles of this genre.
Disclaimer: the global version of the game is being released with a max level of 50. However, the original version of the game released in Korea has a max level of 70. The leveling walkthrough that we'll share with you next covers the first 50 levels which is relevant to the game's global version.
They assure fans that casual players will be able to reach the level cap of 70 in 3-4 weeks depending on how much time you spend in the game. On top of that, hardcore players can expect to hit this threshold in 4-5 days if they know the best Throne and Liberty fast EXP strategies and routes. BLOG20
Throne and Liberty Leveling Walkthrough
In this brand-new section of our leveling guide, we will be giving you directions for leveling, which are divided into several level ranges. As you gain levels, more activities become available to you and those activities need to be used for faster leveling. The following leveling walkthrough is updated and represents a leveling path of the release version of the game. You are free to take any leveling path you want and approach quests however you want. This walkthrough represents the most optimized path to max level:
- Tutorial Area (Level 1)
The game begins in the tutorial area, which cannot be skipped. Here, you will follow a linear quest line, killing a few mobs, and battling a boss at the end. This section is designed to familiarize you with the basics of combat and questing. Once completed, you will be teleported to the main city, marking the true beginning of your adventure.
- Levels 1-12: Focus on Main Story Quests
After arriving in the city, ignore distractions and head straight for the main purple story quest. Follow this questline through Golden Rye Pastures, where you’ll start fighting mobs and collecting drops. Since you don’t have Amoy (the automatic loot collector), you’ll need to manually pick up items by walking over them.
The story will guide you to a lighthouse where you should use grapples instead of running up the hill for efficiency. Once you’ve completed this section, you’ll receive a green weapon selection box—choose your primary weapon. The main quest continues into a wolf area, where after clearing the mobs and reaching Henry's grave, you’ll begin advancing through Castleton. Make sure to use grapples when crossing the bridge to save time.
- Levels 12-18: Gearing Up and Contracting
Around level 12, you’ll unlock the next chapter, which leads to the Starlight Observatory. Here, accept four contracts and complete them while progressing the main story. As you face the boss Nuller, upgrade your gear and skills to prepare for the fight. Completing the Starlight Observatory quest line, including its appendixes, and reaching TT Tower will set you on the path to level 18. At this stage, you should craft as many green gear pieces as possible and upgrade them to stay competitive in the next areas.
- Levels 18-23: TT Tower and Moonlight Wastelands
After completing the contracts and appendixes at TT Tower, teleport back to Castleton and complete the Resistance Contract Coin appendix to push yourself to level 18, unlocking the next chapter. Now, head to Vienta Village to complete Chapter 4, which should bring you to level 21, marking the first major bottleneck.
To overcome this, clear the second floor of TT Tower, unlock the Waypoint in Moonlight Wastelands, and complete all blue quests to reach level 23. If you're still short on experience, return to Ella Fields or Carmine Forest to finish up any leftover quests.
- Levels 23-31: Overcoming the Bottlenecks
Chapter 5 begins with the fight against Leonardos, which should push you to level 26, another bottleneck. Claim your blue weapon reward, upgrade your gear, and join a guild to unlock Guardian of the Guard contracts. These contracts will guide you through Vienta Village and into TT Tower once more. Clear the third floor, unlock the Abandoned Stonemason Town Waypoint, and complete additional blue quests to hit level 28, unlocking Chapter 6.
By the time you reach level 31, you should be well-equipped with a blue helmet from completing Chapter 6. Continue upgrading your gear and skills as you prepare for the next set of challenges.
- Levels 31-36: Navigating Sandworm Lair and the Desert
Chapter 7 takes you into Sandworm Lair, where you’ll unlock new waypoints and quests. When following the Mysterious Mass quest, avoid chasing the orbs and head directly to the portal for efficiency. Completing these quests will bring you to level 36, earning a blue gloves selection as a reward.
- Levels 36-43: Advancing Through TT Tower and Raging Wilds
Your next major goal is to clear the sixth floor of TT Tower before heading to Daybreak Shore to unlock new blue quests. Some of these quests can only be completed at night, like the Sailor Keepsakes quest. Once you finish these, you’ll unlock Chapter 8 at level 38.
At this stage, the Raging Wilds becomes available. Continue following the main story while completing blue quests in the area, upgrading your gear along the way. You’ll also encounter bosses like Stone Golem Chief and Taman Chief, which can be soloed if your gear and skills are sufficiently upgraded.
- Levels 43-50: Final Push and Endgame Preparation
At level 43, clear floors six and seven of TT Tower before moving to Manav Vas. Here, complete all blue quests and pay attention to challenges like Unibot's Experiment, which involves puzzle-solving. If you don’t reach level 45 by finishing Manav Vas, head to Canina Village and Akido Valley to complete quests, including a difficult jumping puzzle. At this point, collect five black Mana Stones to hit level 45 and unlock Chapter 9.
From this point, the main story alone will carry you to level 50. Follow the quest line carefully, handling bosses like Zarak and puzzles like the one in Lyan’s Hall. Completing the Shadow Temple Waypoint will give you an advantage in fast travel.
- Reaching Level 50 and Beyond
After exiting the Nightmare Quest, you’ll be level 50. Finish the final story parts, which include saving Gigant TR in the tower, and prepare for the final boss fight. Pay close attention to mechanics, especially AoE cone attacks and shield-breaking fragments during the battle.
Congratulations on reaching level 50! You're now ready for the endgame content. Keep upgrading your gear, complete high-level contracts, and prepare for the challenges ahead.
Best Ways for Fast Leveling in Throne and Liberty
Continuing our TL leveling guide, we would like to focus your attention on the best ways for fast leveling in Throne and Liberty currently available. While we have tried to describe each and every method we have information about, there still might be changes when the game launches globally. So, make sure you stay tuned and check this article from time to time to be updated on the latest details!
Below, you can find a list of the best leveling methods Throne and Liberty:
- Completing Contracts;
- Mob Grinding;
- Clearing Out Dungeons;
- Gathering;
- Participating in Events.
Further in the article, we will describe all these ways in detail and conclude which one is the best when it comes to Throne and Liberty level up fast and why.
Completing Contracts
Maximizing your contract completion efficiency is key to swift leveling. Prioritize contracts that offer substantial XP relative to the time and effort they require. Focus on completing contracts in batches within specific zones or areas to minimize travel time.
Additionally, undertake contracts that complement each other in objectives, allowing you to complete multiple tasks simultaneously. Utilize the game's contract tracker to efficiently navigate and complete them without unnecessary backtracking.
While we have already said a few words about the contract system, let’s dive into it a bit deeper:
- Main Storyline Contracts (Purple) – Introduce you to the gameplay basics and lead you through the lore of TL. By completing Main Storyline Contracts, you can earn a range of valuable materials, which will be especially useful early on, and plenty of XP;
- Exploration/Side Contracts (Blue) – This type of contract is aimed at discovering stuff within separate regions and often involves interacting with NPCs, and also exploring the open world around you;
- Resistance/Daily Contracts (Yellow) – They become available at level 11 and you can complete them on a daily basis. As a rule, Resistance Contracts will require you to slay certain mobs to gather crafting materials you then need to bring somewhere to complete the task;
- Guild Contracts (Green) – As suggested by the name, you have to do this type of contract together with an entire guild. The rewards you are going to get are divided into two categories: the ones your guild gets and those ones every player receives individually.
As of right now, completing contracts (especially Resistance/Daily ones) is arguably the best way to level up fast in Throne and Liberty. The reason for this is the amount of XP you get after finishing one task and the fact you also get your hands on valuable resources you might need later on.
Mob Grinding
Mob Grinding is a tried-and-tested method when we are talking about Throne and Liberty how to level up fast and it revolves around systematically defeating groups of enemies, or "mobs," to accumulate XP and progress your character. This technique focuses on continuously engaging in combat with specific types of mobs known for providing favorable XP rewards.
While this way of leveling in TL has the right to exist, the devs have combined Mob Grinding and Completing Contracts into one. What we are trying to say here is that it longer makes much sense to just run around and slay mobs forever. Instead, you want to accept a few contracts you like and make sure your goal is to defeat certain mobs to receive this contract’s reward. This will let you receive much more XP than just hitting mobs for hours.
If you still decide to opt for Mob Grinding as your main leveling method, here are a few things to keep in mind to make it more beneficial:
- Identifying Efficient Mob Grinding Locations:
Finding the right location is crucial for effective mob grinding. Look for areas with a high density of mobs that are relatively easy to defeat, ensuring a steady flow of enemies without extended downtime between encounters. Consider the level range of the mobs to ensure they provide adequate XP without being excessively challenging, allowing for efficient grinding.
- Optimization through Respawn Rates and Pathing:
Efficient mob grinding hinges on understanding respawn rates and mob pathing. Choose areas where mobs respawn quickly, minimizing downtime between kills. Additionally, learn the movement patterns of the mobs to optimize your grinding route, allowing for a continuous flow of enemies without unnecessary delays.
- Using AoE Abilities:
Make sure you use weapon rolls with AoE abilities, as they excel in mob grinding. Skills that damage multiple targets at once allow you to defeat groups of mobs more efficiently, speeding up your XP gain. Experiment with different abilities and rotations to maximize your damage output and clear mobs swiftly.
Clearing Out Dungeons
Moving on, clearing out dungeons is a great answer to the question of how to level fast TL since this type of activity has always been the bread and butter of all MMORPG leveling systems. Forming or joining groups allows you to tackle more challenging content that rewards substantial XP bonuses upon completion. Dungeons, in particular, offer significant experience rewards and valuable loot. Coordinating with a well-balanced group not only enhances efficiency but also adds a social aspect to your gameplay, making the leveling process more enjoyable.
As of right now, we are aware of the following Throne and Liberty dungeons available in the game:
- Shadowed Crypt;
- Syleus’s Abyss;
- Temple of Sylaveth;
- Ant Nest;
- Sanctum of Desire.
If you are not a big fan of group activities and standard dungeons is not really your thing, the devs have prepared something else for you. Currently, we have access to a Secret Dungeon called Taedal’s Tower, which acts as an ultimate PvE challenge for one player. It represents a tower consisting of multiple floors you are to clear one after another. As you might have already guessed, you cannot move to another floor before finishing the previous one successfully.
You only have 5 minutes to clear out a chosen floor. If you fail to do this, mobs will become noticeably stronger and are more likely to kill you after they go into this “berserk” mode.
Gathering
Gathering in Throne and Liberty is not just a supplemental activity; it can significantly contribute to your leveling progression by providing XP and valuable resources.
Here is how Gathering can be a potent method when you strive for Throne and Liberty level up quickly:
XP Rewards | Each gathering action rewards you with experience points. These XP gains might seem small individually but accumulate over time. In fact, you can compare one gathering action to slaying a single mob. Higher-level nodes or rare resources often offer increased XP, incentivizing exploration and skill development in gathering professions. |
Resource Collection and Crafting | Gathering resources is not just about XP; it is also about the materials you acquire. These resources can be used for crafting valuable items or sold on the in-game market for profit. Crafting items can yield additional XP, contributing to your overall leveling strategy. |
Exploration and Discovery | This type of activity encourages exploration of the game world. Venturing into uncharted territories in search of rare or high-level nodes exposes you to new landscapes, creatures, and potentially hidden quests or lore. This exploration can expand your knowledge of the game and provide opportunities for unexpected XP gains. |
In TL, viewing gathering as more than a mere collection of resources elevates its importance in your leveling strategy. By optimizing your approach to gathering, you can augment your XP gains, resource stockpiles, and overall gameplay experience.
Participating in Events
Events in Throne and Liberty represent a mix of Contracts and Mob Grinding we have already talked about. The only difference here is that you (or your guild) are limited in time. You have local and regional events where your main task is usually to slay mobs. However, compared to other MMORPGs, your primary goal is not to slay AS MANY mobs as possible but to earn a range of certain materials you then need to bring to a certain location to claim your reward.
As you might have already guessed, among these rewards are coveted experience points needed for your Throne and Liberty fast leveling process.
While there are plenty of events currently available in the game, we will go over one of them to provide you with a clear understanding of how they work:
You can join the Wolf Hunting Contest in the Blackhowl Plains where you will compete with other players and try to gather Wolf Tails. During this event, you need to keep slaying Wolves to loot Wolf Tails from them. After that, you need to put them in the Delivery Chest waiting for you in the Blackhowl Plains.
Throne and Liberty Leveling Tips & Tricks
As our guide draws to an end, we would like to share the most essential Throne and Liberty leveling tips and tricks to ensure your journey to the level cap of 70 is fast and effortless:
Accumulate Abyss Points | Throughout your leveling process, you will constantly accumulate Abyss Points you then spend when clearing out dungeons. These points significantly boost the amounts of XP and Sollant you get when in an instance. Make sure you have as many of them before entering another dungeon. |
Group Up When Possible | While we understand you have a temptation to play exclusively on your own, we highly recommend that you join a group whenever possible. This concerns activities like dungeons, events, and contracts. By doing so, you are more likely to succeed and earn better rewards, including XP. |
Daily Contracts | Keep an eye out for daily contracts (marked with Yellow) provided by the game. These tasks often offer bonus XP for completing specific challenges or objectives. By incorporating these contracts into your regular gameplay, you can gain extra XP and rewards, accelerating your leveling progress. |
