WoW SoD Phase 4 Shaman Runes

As we’ve already witnessed, the developers are holding their cards close to their chests, meaning they’re not revealing all of the new runes they planned for the classes in Phase 4. That said, here are the WoW SoD Shaman Phase 4 runes that have been confirmed:

• Nature Specialization - Chance to hit with Nature spells increased by 6%. Not cumulative with other ring runes.
  

• Greater Ghost Wolf - Your Ghost Wolf ability can now be used indoors, and reduces all damage you take by 10% while active.
  

• Coherence - Causes your Chain heal effectiveness to only reduce by 35% per jump, and Chain Lightning effectiveness to only reduce by 20% per jump. Each also jumps to 1 additional target.

• Feral Spirit - Summons two Spirit Wolves under the command of the Shaman, lasting 45 sec.

• Storm, Earth, and Fire - Reduces the cooldown of your Chain Lightning by 50%, causes your Earthbind Totem to root targets for 5 sec when cast, and increases the periodic damage done by your Flame Shock by 60%.

• Axe Specialization - Skill with Axes and Two-Handed Axes increased by 5. This effect is not cumulative with racial bonuses or other ring runes.

• Fist Weapon Specialization - Skill with Fist Weapons (Unarmed) increased by 5. This effect is not cumulative with racial bonuses or other ring runes.

• Mace Specialization - Skill with Maces and Two-Handed Maces increased by 5. This effect is not cumulative with racial bonuses or other ring runes.

• Pole Weapon Specialization - Skill with Staves and Polearms increased by 5. This effect is not cumulative with racial bonuses or other ring runes.
  

While we’re still expecting to see more WoW SoD Shaman phase 4 rune locations and details, one thing is certain. WoW SoD Shaman Head Runes & Locations

The head slot runes focus on enhancing existing abilities. Two of these runes are for DPS builds, while the third one is better suited for Healer builds. In fact, the last one might be one of the best Healer runes in this Phase.

• Burn
• Mental Dexterity
• Tidal Waves

Whichever build you have, the head runes will be a good fit for you. The improved Flame Shock is amazing for obvious reasons, but so are the powered-up Chain Heal and Riptide.

Burn

This is a simple rune that improves Flame Shock ability making it able to hit up to 3 targets instead of 1.

Burn Location & How to Get:

1. Reach a Friendly reputation with the Emerald Wardens faction by participating in Nightmare Incursions.
2. Purchase the Rune of Burn from one of the Emerald Wardens Quartermasters for 1 gold and 60 silver.

Mental Dexterity

With this rune, the more melee damage you deal, the more your Attack power will be increased based on the Intellect stat value.

Mental Dexterity Location & How to Get:

1. Kill Wastewander Shadow Mages and Wastewander Thieves east of Gadgetzan in Tanaris until you obtain Coded Warlock Notes and Wastewander Cipher. Note: These items are tradeable and can also be purchased from the Auction House.
2. Combine Coded Warlock Notes and Wastewander Cipher to create Deciphered Warlock Notes.
3. Locate the Cryptic Scroll of Summoning at coordinates 58.8, 36.6 on the ground.
4. Stand on the scroll and use Deciphered Warlock Notes. This action will summon the Enraged Voidwalker.
5. Eliminate the Enraged Voidwalker to obtain the Rune of Mental Dexterity and learn the rune from it.

Tidal Waves

An awesome tune for healers that basically gives you a new resource, charges of Tidal Waves. Each of these charges lower the cooldown of Healing Wave and improves the critical effect chance of the Lesser Healing Wave.

Tidal Waves Location & How to Get:

1. Find the Old Crate within a tent at coordinates 76.6, 48.0 in Feralas and retrieve the Old Key.
2. Use the Old Key to unlock a chest submerged near a sunken boat at coordinates 79.2, 49.2.
3. Inside the chest, you'll discover the Rune of Tidal Waves.

WoW SoD Shaman Wrists Runes & Locations

The Wrists slot runes are more diverse in what they do. Each one of them changes the chosen ability in a pretty significant way. There are wrist runes that will be favored by the healers, tanks and both DPS - ranged and melee.

• Overcharged
• Riptide
• Rolling Thunder
• Static Shock

We're going to get into more details regarding each rune a bit further down below, but know that they are all pretty powerful, so try to get them all if you can.

Overcharged

Just like the talent, this rune improves the Lighting Shield but in a different way. It makes it so that the skill doesn't lose charges and deals AoE damage in a 8-yards radius.

Overcharged Location & How to Get:

1. Ensure one member of the group is level 45 or above.
2. Collect notes and complete quests:
   1. Smudged Shaman's Notes: Obtain and use Murky Earth Sapta in Tanaris.
   2. Charred Shaman's Notes: Obtain and use Murky Fire Sapta in Searing Gorge.
   3. Torn Shaman's Notes: Obtain and use Murky Air Sapta in The Hinterlands.
   4. Waterlogged Shaman's Notes: Obtain and use Murky Water Sapta in Azshara.
3. Gather Elemental Essence from Sea Elementals in Feralas.
4. Turn in quests at elemental totems in Feralas to spawn the Twilight Dark Shaman.
5. Defeat the Twilight Dark Shaman to acquire the Rune of Overcharged.

Riptide

This is a new healing ability that you should use before casting Chain Heal. That way, Chain Heal will restore much more health and also trigger Ancestral Awakening.

Riptide Location & How to Get:

1. Start by accepting the quest "The Wild Gods" from Shadowtooth Emissary in the Emerald Sanctuary in Felwood. Ensure your character meets the minimum level requirement of 40.
2. Head to Jintha'alor in The Hinterlands and defeat elite enemies until you acquire the Wildwhisper Draught.
3. Defeat the final boss in Razorfen Downs and clear the surrounding area.
4. Use the Wildwhisper Draught at a specific location to summon the Spirit of Agamaggan.
5. Return to the Spirit of Agamaggan to claim Agamaggan's Roar and initiate the follow-up quest "The Wild Gods."
6. Gather 3 Wild Offering items from Zul’Farrak, Maraudon, or Blackrock Depths. Defeat specific enemies in these dungeons to obtain them.
   • In Zul’Farrak, summon and defeat a spider ghost to acquire the Wild Offering.
   • In Maraudon, summon and vanquish a raptor ghost to obtain the Wild Offering.
   • In Blackrock Depths, eliminate certain bosses to summon a basilisk ghost and acquire the Wild Offering.
7. Return to Shadowtooth Emissary in Felwood to turn in the quest and receive Hyjal's Wisdom, which allows you to learn the Riptide rune.

Rolling Thunder

This rune will suit ranged DPS builds because it enhances the Lighting Bolt and Chain Lighting - the two most popular DPS skills for Shamans. But that's not all, it also makes Lighting Shiled better by making it so that its charges can be released when Earth Shock is used.

Rolling Thunder Location & How to Get:

1. Locate the Odd Totem in Tanaris at coordinates 43.0, 41.2 and interact with it. This action transforms you into Ghost Wolf form and applies the Totem Challenge debuff, increasing damage taken by 50% during the challenge.
2. Quickly navigate to the second Odd Totem at the opposite end of the skeleton, located at coordinates 45.6, 37.8.
3. Interact with the second Odd Totem.
4. Upon interaction, a box will appear for you to loot, containing the Rune of Rolling Thunder.

Static Shock

Another rune that improves Lihgting Shield. This time around, the rune adds charges to it, to a maximum of 9, giving your melee attacks a chance to use one charge to damage enemies.

Static Shock Location & How to Get:

1. Ensure the presence of a second player, regardless of class, to obtain the rune.
2. Locate the Charged Totem at coordinates 60.0, 66.8 in Feralas.
3. Both you and the other player interact with the totem to gain the Charged Air buff.
4. The second player engages in combat with nearby mobs using nature damage abilities such as Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning, or Lightning Shield.
   • This action has a chance to grant the nearby player with the active Charged Air buff the Static Buildup buff.
   • Bringing multiple Shaman players increases the likelihood of triggering Static Buildup.
5. Continue defeating mobs until enough procs occur, spawning the Whirling Tempest nearby.
6. Defeat the Whirling Tempest to acquire the Rune of Static Shock.

WoW SoD Shaman Chest Runes & Locations 

We’ll begin our overview of all Shaman runes WoW SoD with the ones you insert into your chest slot. Here’s the list of runes from Phase 1 to Phase 4 runes:

• Dual Wield Specialization
• Healing Rain
• Overload
• Shield Mastery

As you will soon learn, these runes cater to different roles and playstyles, but all of them are equally strong and useful in specific builds. Now, let’s talk about how and where to find Shaman runes.

Dual Wield Specialization Rune

This rune, as the name suggests, makes you more effective when you’re carrying two single-handed weapons. When you do, your attacks will land more often as a result.

Dual Wield Specialization Location & How to Get:

1. Make sure you’re level 20.
2. Find Grizzby at Ratchet in the Barrens Inn (62 39)
3. Complete his quests by collecting listed items in the table below
4. Bring Grizzby these items
5. Accept and complete Let Me Make You An Offer and Got Yourself A Deal quests, which will eventually lead you back to Grizzby.
6. Buy the rune for three gold.

This rune is pretty simple in terms of what it does. If you ever wanted to make your shaman more effective with both weapons in his hands, that’s the rune you’ll run with.

Healing Rain Rune

This rune does what its name says. You’re going to summon a rain that will heal every party member standing in its area of effect.

Healing Rain Location & How to Get:

• Alliance: get the friendly level with Azeroth Commerce Authority and buy the rune.
• Horde: get the friendly level with Durotar Supply and Logistics and buy the rune.

This is a pretty awesome rune for healers. Even though Shaman healers have a lot of abilities to choose from, another AoE healing is always welcome!

Overload Rune

This is simply a fantastic rune. It gives you a chance to have your main abilities cast twice at no additional mana charge for the extra cast! But you’re going to have to work pretty hard to get it.

Overload Location & How to Get:

For Taurens:

1. Go to Mulgore (45 76) and find Meela Dawnstrider, the Shaman trainer
2. Get the quest called Icons of Power
3. Farm Bristleback Shaman to make them drop Dyadic Icon and then equip it
4. Keep farming the same mobs and take nature damage ten times
5. Activate Dyadic Icon
6. Return to the trainer to claim the rune

For Orcs and Trolls:

1. Go to Durotar (42,4 69,0) and find Shikrik, the Shaman trainer.
2. Get the quest called Icons of Power.
3. Farm Scorpid Worker will make them drop the Dyadic Icon and then equip it.
4. Keep farming the same mobs and take nature damage ten times.
5. Activate Dyadic Icon
6. Return to the trainer to claim the rune.

So, the steps for all races are pretty much the same. The only difference is where you get the quest from. It’s hard to underestimate the power and usefulness of this rune. This is simply a must-have! Now, let’s continue with every Shaman rune location.

Shield Mastery Rune

This one lets you become even tankier and turns taking damage into a benefit! Taking hits recovers your mana by a certain percentage. It also makes you block more successfully.

Shield Mastery Location & How to Get:

For Durotar:

1. Locate a randomly spawning totem and get the Galvanic Icon from it.
2. Equip the thing
3. Kill 10 enemies using a specific spell - Lighting Bolt
4. Use the thing again to get the rune

For Mulgore - the steps are absolutely the same. This rune is a great one if you’re running a tank build with a shield and a one-handed weapon.

 

WoW SoD Shaman Legs Runes & Locations

Now we shall continue our guide of where are all Shaman runes with the leg ones. Here’s the list:

• Ancestral Guidance
• Shamanistic Rage (no longer a rune, but a skill learned from a Skill Book)
• Earth Shield
• Way of Earth
• Greater Ghost Wolf

These runes will also help you make more effective builds because they offer some cool new mechanics and powerup some of your main abilities that you often use in your rotations. Let’s take a look. As of Phase 4, this slot has some new runes.

Greater Ghost Wolf

A utility rune that improves the Ghost Wolf form by allowing you to use it indoors. Shamans were known to have limited effectiveness when fighting indoors, and this rune is one of the few things that change this notion.

Greater Ghost Wolf Location & How to Get:

1. You must locate and defeat Primordial Anomaly elite mob walking around the The Charred Vale in Stonetalon Mountains.
2. This mob switches forms that gives him immunity to elements: Fire Form, Nature Form, Water Form.
3. When you defeated the monster, loot the rune off its body.

This rune replaces Shamanistic Rage, which became a learnable skill from the Skill Book. Please, keep that in mind.

Ancestral Guidance Rune

This one plays with the idea of dealing damage and healing at the same time. Whenever you deal damage, you also heal nearby allies for a percentage of that damage. And when you heal, you’ll also deal damage to your last target. BLOG20

Ancestral Guidance Location & How to Get:

For Mulgore

1. Locate the camp of centaurs on the southern side of Sen’jin.
2. Find and interact with the Adventurer’s Spirit, who will create a portal.
3. Another healer spec player must interact with the portal to summon an NPC who will offer the rune.

For Durotar

1. Find and interact with the Adventurer’s Spirit at the Venture Co Mine (66 33), who will create a portal.
2. Another healer spec player must interact with the portal to summon an NPC who will offer the rune.

This is one of the easiest runes to get if you can find someone who can help you with it. The rune itself is pretty useful, as it suits both DPS and healer builds.

Shamanistic Rage Rune

You could say that this is sort of a defensive mana recharging rune. It’s going to decrease any incoming damage and restore your mana for 15 seconds based on one of your stats. Even your party members will get some of that mana!

Shamanistic Rage Location & How to Get:

1. Go to the border between Desolace and Stonetalon Mountains
2. Find and kill the Primordial Anomaly elite mob.

This rune might fit any build because if there’s one thing that all shamans share is the lack of mana. Adding a thing that regenerates it without wasting consumables is just perfect!

Earth Shield Rune

This one covers any target, not just yourself, in a elemental shield that not only protects from physical damage but also prevents the cast interruption.

Earth Shield Location & How to Get:

1. Enter Blackfathom Deeps
2. Kill the first boss - Baron Aquanis
3. Go to Ashenvale (12 34)
4. Take the quest called Elemental Distress from Je'neu Sancrea.
5. Find and kill elementals to receive specific motes:
   
   • Mote of Seismic Rage
   • Mote of Infernal Rage
   • Mote of Torrential Rage
6. Finish the quest and pick up a new one called Elixir of Insight.
7. Buy or craft Elixir of Water Breathing and Elixir of Wisdom 
8. Go to Barrens (43, 79).
9. Slay Hirzek

This is a pretty complex path to get the rune, but it’s definitely worth it, especially in group content where you might want to use it to protect your ranged DPS party members.

Way of Earth Rune

This is an interesting rune because it kind of makes you more “attractive” to the enemies around you because it makes some of your attacks become more aggroing. Besides that it also decreases all manner of damage, including regular, critical, etc.

Way of Earth Location & How to Get:

For Barrens:

1. Go to these coordinates - 59, 37
2. Find Desert Mirage and cast Purge on them.

For Silverpine Forest:

1. Go to these coordinates - 45, 21Farm Rot Hide Mystic to make them to drop Rot Totem
2. Use that thing to spawn an elite mob.
3. Kill the elite to get the rune.

If you’re a tank Shaman, you will want to get this rune as it is perfect for the kind of things the tanks are good at - aggroing mobs and tanking damage.

WoW SoD Shaman Gloves Runes & Locations

The final step to find all Shaman runes leaves us with with gloves slot. As you might already imagine, there are going to be runes that enhance each role a shaman could be. Let’s count them:

• Lava Burst
• Molten Blast
• Water Shield
• Lava Lash

Most of these will look great on a DPS, but a support role will also benefit from one or two. Now, let’s get a closer look at each one of them. BLOG20

Lava Burst Rune

This one is a simple yet devastating fiery projectile that you will launch in your enemy’s face!

Lava Burst Location & How to Get:

1. Farm Mudsnout Shaman at Hillsbrad Foothills (65 60) to make them drop Kajaric Icon.
2. Travel to Ragegire Chasm.
3. Use the dance emote to get the inspired buff.
4. Now interact with the thing you equipped to get the rune.
5. A simple yet effective addition to any DPS rotation, what more do you need?

Molten Blast Rune

This is another attacking ability. You’ll cast a flame that will hit several enemies in a cone area in front of you.

Molten Blast Location & How to Get:

For Durotar:

1. Find a hut in the eastern Razor Hill by these coordinates - 59, 46
2. Apply 5 stacks of Fire Dama on Frozen Makrura using fire spells only
3. Find and equip Sulfurous Icon
4. Farm 10 mobs, finishing them using Earth Shock
5. Interact with the Sulfurous Icon to get the rune.

For Mulgore:

1. Travel to Bloodhoof Village (33, 48)
2. Farm dwarven mobs to make them drop Artifact Storage Key
3. Travel to the  Bael’Dun Digsite (32, 50)
4. Find a chest inside and open it with the key to get Sulfurous Icon.
5. Find and equip Sulfurous Icon
6. Farm 10 mobs, finishing them using Earth Shock
7. Interact with the Sulfurous Icon to get the rune.

Another AoE ability that deals damage to multiple enemies. No reason not to add it to your DPS rotation.

Water Shield Rune

This is a pretty creative way to restore mana. Basically, you surround yourself with watery blobs, and each time you take damage, one blob bursts and restores some portion of mana based on the maximum amount you can have.

Water Shield Location & How to Get:

For Silverpine Forest:

1. Slay Grimson the Pale and equip Tempest Icon that he drops
2. Damage 10 different NPCs with Nature, Fire, and Frost type of damage (no matter the order)
3. Interact with the Tempest Icon to get the thing.

For Barrens:

1. Farm Kolkar to make them drop Kolkar Booty Key.
2. Go to these coordinates - 53, 42 or 44, 38
3. Find and open the chest, which will contain Tempest Icon.
4. Equip it.
5. Damage 10 different NPCs with Nature, Fire, and Frost type of damage (no matter the order)
6. Interact with the Tempest Icon to get the thing.

And that’s all you have to do to be able to restore mana while taking damage. You know, with the right set of gear and a good rotation, you might not even run out of mana during combat at all!

Lava Lash Rune

So, this one is more for those of you who are dual-wielding weapons. It covers your off-hand weapon in fire, which also instantly deals damage. And your following attacks will deal increased damage, obviously.

Lava Lash Location & How to Get:

1. Travel to Thunder Bluff
2. Take a quest from Boarton Shadetotem called Stalk With The Earthmother.
3. Complete the quest to learn how to dual-wield and the rune along with it!

Seeing how you get this rune along with the ability to dual-wield, it’s a great chance to try out a new play style!
