Nightfall the ordeal has auto searching both enabled and disabled depending on the difficulty Higher difficulties like Master and Grandmaster have auto searching disabled and you need to complete them with your own fireteam.
Only these two difficulties of Nightfall can award players with Ascendant Shards which is the material that guardians can use to masterwork their armor (Masterworking a single legendary armor piece will require you to spend one ascendant shard.
However, masterworking a single exotic armor piece will cost you three ascendant shards.). Additionally, players can obtain unique adept weapons and special mods for them from the Grandmaster Nightfall ordeal.
