Fellow heroes, are you ready to plunge into the world of archaeological finds and adventures? In this guide, we will share all the details about the Dragonscale Expedition. It is the first faction you are going to encounter in the latest World of Warcraft expansion. By reading this article, you will learn everything you need to know about farming Dragonscale Expedition Renown. We will also tell you about the rewards you can acquire by progressing with this faction. As an extra bonus, we will mention a few facts about how this faction was created and what served as the reason for it.
Common Renown Changes in Dragonflight
Starting with the general changes, the game’s developers have done their best to make the Renown system more casual and player-friendly. You no longer have restrictions concerning how many Renown levels you can gain per week. Consequently, players can earn as many rewards as they wish if they have enough time.
If you played Shadowlands, the previous World of Warcraft expansion, you should remember covenants and how you had to choose one of them for good. In Dragonflight, we see four major factions that we can level up simultaneously. They are Dragonscale Expedition, Iskaara Tuskarr, Maruuk Centaur, and Valdrakken Accord. On top of that, we no longer have 5 levels of Reputation starting with Unfriendly and going up to Exalted. However, this feature remains the same for four minor factions that we will talk about in another guide.

Renown Rewards: General Information
As you progress further in your Renown tree, you will get various rewards. They are different depending on what faction you are focusing on. For now, we want to share a few details on what general bonuses you can get and how they work:
- Speaking of the system in general, the majority of rewards are account-wide. It means you do not have to unlock them for each new character you create. The exceptions here are the profession recipes you learn and certain equipment pieces;
- Reaching levels 10 and 20 with each faction grants you a +100%/+200% boost to the amount of Reputation you gain when playing other characters on the same account. You do not need to do anything to activate this bonus, it happens automatically;
- Unlike in Shadowlands, the rewards you get no longer influence your player power that much. Instead, you will get a lot of decorative items. They are pets, mounts, toys, and transmogs. As you keep moving forward, new side quests and ways to interact with a particular faction will be opened;
- Certain Renown levels unlock the ability to purchase 376-389 level equipment for gold. It is not a big deal, as this gear can hardly be called powerful. You can keep it just for your collection. Another novelty that can help players increase their item level is Primal Infusion. Attaching this additional reagent to one of the things you create changes its level to 395-405.
While completing Dragonscale Expedition and other factions’ storylines, you will get a ton of rewards. In fact, the game’s developers have implemented so many quests and activities you can be involved in that you will never feel bored.
When progressing further with a certain faction, the bigger part of the rewards you gain is available for all your character on the account. However, the Reputation progress will be refreshed and you have to start from scratch with each new character created.
With all the novelties brought into the game, you should not forget about the features that have been with us for ages. We are talking about raids and the generous rewards you get from them. However, not all of us have enough time and energy to participate in all in-game activities. Besides, raiding is all about trying hard and investing not fewer than 3-4 hours of your precious time.
If you still wish to get the highest-rank loot, but do not want to live in the game, we have a solution for you. Check our WoW Raid Boost services where the team of pro players will do the job for you. All you are left to do is to enjoy the rewards and keep traveling around the Dragon Isles. We offer fair prices and flexible plans you can adjust to your needs.
Reasons for Choosing the Dragonscale Expedition
Despite having an opportunity to level all four major factions simultaneously, we highly recommend choosing one of them and focusing on it. This is why you can pick the Dragonscale Expedition as your priority:
- You will discover various treasures, some of them including Expedition Scout’s Pack, Disturbed Dirt, and Magic-Bound Chest;
- Progressing further with the faction, you will unlock Climbing and Cataloguing World Quests;
- You will open and learn how to use Ancient Waygates, portals that allow you to travel around the Dragon Isles;
- You will receive unique Exploration-themed ensembles and weapon transmogs;
- Finally, players specializing in Jewelcrafting, Engineering, Tailoring, or Enchanting can learn a lot of new crafting recipes.
Not to mention all the adventuring quests that await you with the Dragonscale Expedition. This faction is all about exploring the Dragon Isles and discovering treasures. By choosing it, you will feel like a real archeologist hunting for the world’s most expensive trophy. BLOG20
Unfortunately, none of these rewards can be compared with what you can get from dungeons. Clearing one of them guarantees you high-rank loot and crazy-expensive equipment. However, finding a party of five reliable players to go to a dungeon is always a struggle. If you wish to save time and always get the reward you desire, we have a solution for you. By ordering our Mythic Carry services, you can be sure our pro players will clear a dungeon of any difficulty for you. We offer fair prices and flexible plans for your complete convenience.
Gaining Renown with the Dragonscale Expedition
The path to the final Renown level is tough. You need to gain 2,500 Reputation for one Renown level. It means you need 62,500 Reputation to make Dragonscale Expedition Renown hit its cap. Considering this faction only has 25 levels, that is still quite a lot, right? Some other factions have 30 levels, which is even more.
To put it simply, you will spend an eternity in the game to max out all available factions. Fortunately, the game’s creators have taken care of players and implemented many Reputation sources. Here is the list of activities you will be involved in:
- Weekly Reputation quests;
- All types of World Quests that you encounter while traveling around the Dragon Isles;
- Community Events that become available one time and another;
- Returning Dragon Isles Artifact you can discover in treasures;
- One-time quests;
- Renown tokens farming;
- Unique faction quests and events.
Here, we want to mention one quest in particular. Aiding the Accord is the biggest quest that you can take from Therazal in Valdrakken. It is actually hard to complete, as it requires you to gain 4000 Reputation points among all four major factions. The way you do it is up to you since any source is counted equally. Once you are done with it, you are going to get 500 Reputation points for all major factions and a chest of Valdrakken Treasures.
The most important trick is that you can progress in this quest by playing any character on the same account. This speeds up the completion time, as this is practically an account-wide quest.
By doing your best throughout the week and completing as many tasks as possible, you can gain up to 3 Renown levels with all major factions. If you still find the whole process of gaining Reputation too time-consuming and tiring, we have a way for you. By ordering our World of Warcraft Boosting services, you can forget about grinding rep. Our pro players will do the job for you while you can be involved in other in-game activities. We offer reasonable prices and flexible plans to suit any player’s needs.
The Dragonscale Expedition Location
This faction and its NPCs are easy to find as they have their base located in The Waking Shores. The most important character there is Cataloger Jakes. She is the faction’s quartermaster and the main trader in Dragonscale Basecamp. You can buy various Renown rewards from her. All other NPCs are located in the same camp and it takes a few minutes to find them.
Do not forget to visit the faction’s camp from time to time. As you keep progressing further and earn more Reputation points, you will be able to buy a lot of rare and faction-unique stuff. Even though they do not really empower your character, it is still nice to have them in your collection.
Dragonscale Expedition Special Renown Levels
It is hard to deny that each Renown level is important in its own way. Nonetheless, in this part of our Dragonscale Expedition guide, we want to point out the most crucial stages you are going to pass with this particular faction:
- Reaching Renown 6 opens Climbing World Quests, allowing you to climb mountains while looking for rare artifacts;
- Reaching Renown 8 opens Cataloging World Quests, allowing you to ride a raft and take photos of the Dragon Isles wildlife;
- Reaching Renown 14 opens the A Mystery, Sealed storyline, allowing you to gain more Reputation points for this particular faction;
- Reaching Renown 16 opens access to Magic-Bound Chest containing Renown Tokens;
- Reaching Renown 24 opens the In the Halls of Titans storyline, allowing you to gain more Reputation points for this particular faction.
At the same time, no matter what rewards you open and what treasure discover, you will always lack gold. You can never be too rich in World of Warcraft and the Dragonflight expansion proves it to be true. Before you start befriending this or any other faction, you want to gear up a little bit.
Just as it has always been with every new expansion, we see inflated prices that are not likely to settle down too soon. Worry not, as we are here to solve this problem for you. By buying WoW Gold with our company’s help, you can be sure you will have enough of it to purchase everything you need. Whether it is high-rank equipment or rare consumables, you can afford it now.
Dragonscale Expedition Reputation Overview
The Dragonscale Expedition faction is a recently-formed unit. Earlier it consisted of Alliance’s Explorer’s League and the Horde’s Reliquary. They have decided to team up to uncover the secrets of the Dragon Isles. This faction is a perfect choice for players who are into archeology. By joining them, you will learn to climb mountains and use special exploration tools.
Remember that the majority of Renown rewards you gain with the factions are account-wide. This means it is going to be noticeably easier for you to level your future alts. F.A.Q.
Should I choose only one Dragon Isles faction to stick to?
Unlike it was in the previous expansion, Shadowlands, we no longer have covenants in Dragonflight. Players can now earn Renown with all four major Dragonflight factions. On top of that, we have four sub-factions that you can befriend and get extra rewards.
How do I gain Renown Reputation in WoW?
Becoming a friend of all four major factions is indeed a challenging task. To ease this process, the game’s developers have implemented tons of weekly, world, and one-time quests. By completing them and participating in various events, you can earn tons of Reputation points.
Why should I earn Renown with the Dragonscale Expedition?
Though, this faction is one of the first you encounter, it is not necessary to earn Renown only with it. The Dragonscale Expedition will be the best choice for players who are into archeology, mountain climbing, and treasure hunting. Besides, it only has only 25 Renown levels to complete and the rewards are extremely valuable.
How long does it take to reach maximum Renown with each Dragonflight faction?
By completing all the suggested quests and participating in different events, you can gain up to 3 Renown levels with all factions each week. Though, you may decide to focus on a particular faction if you wish to acquire certain rewards. In this case, you will level it up much faster than others.
