Getting Into the Light Weapons
All Into the Light weapons arsenal consists of 12 iconic guns, remade and updated with new perks and visual style. The original versions of these weapons are no longer obtainable, but these 12 are part of the free content update, available to all players, regardless of how many expansions they own.
All of the Into the Light loot pool has a chance to drop from Onslaught game mode, which is an activity where you must defend a device against waves of enemies. Furthermore, the new vendor called Arcite 99-40, which can be found standing next to Shaxx in Hall of Champions, offers quests for each weapon that will reward you with the masterworked version of that weapon. Below, we’ll list all 12 weapons along with their God Rolls. Remember, you can get the Brave arsenal drops from Onslaught.

Climbing The Mountaintop |
The Climbing The Mountaintop is one of the Brave arsenal missions weapons. It will be available on April 16, 2024. It will have the following objectives:
- Swiftly eliminate adversaries with Breech-Loaded Grenade Launchers across all locations in the system.
- Gain bonus progress by achieving rapid final blows during Onslaught encounters.
- Alternatively, vanquish enemy Guardians using Grenade Launchers in combat situations.
The Grenade Launcher from Forsaken/Season of the Forge has undergone a significant transformation, with the Micro-Missile perk evolving into the new Breech Grenade Launcher intrinsic perk. The iconic Mountaintop, making its return four years post-Sunset, was renowned for its exclusive Micro-Missile perk, enabling straight-line shooting and heightened projectile velocity. However, the latest iteration of The Mountaintop no longer features this perk; instead, it has been integrated into a comprehensive Archetype. This enhancement not only preserves the advantages of the original perk but also introduces the ability for Guardians to execute Rocket Jumps. BLOG20

Recluse Endangerment |
The Recluse Endangerment quest is already available. To complete it you must do the following:
- Swiftly eliminate adversaries with Sub-Machine Guns across all locations in the system.
- Gain bonus progress by achieving rapid final blows during Onslaught encounters.
- Alternatively, vanquish enemy Guardians using Sub-Machine Guns in combat situations.
Recluse used to dominate the game way before the introduction of sunsetting, a mechanic that made some guns practically useless. Now that it is back, it will definitely become part of the meta once again. It is definitely one of the best Into the Light weapons. Its signature Master of Arms perk increases the damage just like before, which makes it a real threat in PvP when combined with perks like Treat Detector and Tap the Trigger.
Even in PvE, it will be more than useful thanks to its great set of perks. Among these, the combination of Repulsor Brace and Destabilizing Rounds stands out, offering frequent acquisition of a Void Overshield—a highly sought-after attribute. Additionally, Enlightened Action in the third column presents a unique opportunity, marking the debut of this perk on a Lightweight Submachine Gun. BLOG20

- Swiftly eliminate adversaries with Hand Cannons across all locations in the system.
- Gain bonus progress by achieving rapid final blows during Onslaught encounters.
- Alternatively, vanquish enemy Guardians using Hand Cannons in combat situations.
Luna’s Howl is one of those weapons that gets brought up every time someone mentions the game itself. This is, without exaggeration, an iconic weapon, and it's back in the game, offering 140 RPM and some crazy perks. As a part of the Brave arsenal guns, Luna’s Magnificent Howl perk is perfect for PvP and PvE, but perks like Heal Clum, Desperate Measures, and Heal Clip are no less valuable.

Howl at the Moon |

- Swiftly eliminate adversaries with Hand Cannons across all locations in the system.
- Gain bonus progress by achieving rapid final blows during Onslaught encounters.
- Alternatively, vanquish enemy Guardians using Hand Cannons in combat situations.
Onslaught is also the answer to the question of how to get Brave Arsenal in Destiny 2. This Hand Cannon might as well out-damage something like Fatebringer, especially in PvE. It has perks that no other weapon possesses - One for all that increases DPS, Kinetic Tremors, and Explosive Payload. Any combination of these will let you quickly kill Overload Champion enemies.

- Swiftly eliminate adversaries with Machine Guns across all locations in the system.
- Gain bonus progress by achieving rapid final blows during Onslaught encounters.
- Alternatively, vanquish enemy Guardians using Machine Guns during Vanguard Ops. You’ll get more progress for doing that during high-difficulty Nightfalls.
Hammerhead is one of the few heavy machine guns that have returned to the game in a better state than they were. You can now increase its damage by using perks in both the third and fourth rows, such as Onslaught and Rampage, that increase Reload Speed and RPM when you make Final Blows.
Edge Transit Heavy Grenade Launcher

Edgelord |
The Edgelord quest is available in the Hall of Champions right away. It comes with the following objectives:
- Swiftly eliminate adversaries with Heavy Grenade Launchers across all locations in the system.
- Gain bonus progress by achieving rapid final blows during Onslaught encounters.
- Alternatively, vanquish enemy Guardians using Heavy Grenade Launchers in combat situations.
Edge Transit is considered the best weapon in Destiny 2 among heavy-slot Grenade Launchers. You can get the 200% overfilled magazine effect by combining perks like Bait and Switch with Envious Assassin. If you also add something like Cascade Point on top of it, you’ll be able to increase DPS even further! You can switch between the perks during different phases of endgame content like raids. For instance, use the Envious Assassin during DPS phases and then replace it with Cascade Point to clear the adds. It's easier to deal more damage when you don’t have to reload.
Falling Guillotine Sword

Spin to Win |
Spin to Win quest is readily available. You can grab it from Arcite 99-40 droid to complete the following objectives:
- Swiftly eliminate adversaries with anywhere Swords across all locations in the system.
- Alternatively, vanquish enemy Guardians using anywhere in combat situations.
Falling Guillotine is the sword that got removed from the game not that long ago compared to other weapons in this list. This sword features two damage-based perks which is completely new for this type of weapon. Surrounded increases your damage by 35% if you are surrounded by more than three enemies. But it’s not always possible to use this perk, as you’re not always surrounded like that. Bait and Switch give you a steady increase of damage by 30%.
Blast Furnace Pulse Rifle

Blast From the Past |
Blast from the Past will become available on April 30, 2024. It will include the following objectives:
- Swiftly eliminate adversaries with Pulse Rifles across all locations in the system.
- Gain bonus progress by achieving rapid final blows during Onslaught encounters.
- Alternatively, vanquish enemy Guardians using Pulse Rifles in combat situations.
Blast Furnace comes back into the game, bearing a few completely new perks. Frenzy increases reload speed and damage. Meanwhile, Kinetic Tremors creates shockwaves that hit multiple enemies with AoE damage.
For PvP you got perfect perks like the Headseeker, Zen Moment, and others. If you manage to get Kill Clip with these perks, it’ll be a very deadly combo.
Hung Jury SR4 Scout Rifle

Jury Duty |
The readily available Jury Duty quest has the following requirements:
- Swiftly eliminate adversaries with Scout Rifles across all locations in the system.
- Gain bonus progress by achieving rapid final blows during Onslaught encounters.
- Alternatively, vanquish enemy Guardians using Scout Rifles in combat situations.
This gun has been in and out of the game for about four times! The set of perks it comes with look a lot like Blast Furnace, if we’re talking about best perks for PvE. Fortunately, Hung Jury does not let down in PvP game modes either. The Box Breathing combines with every other perk from the PvP category of our table rather well. All of this makes this gun one of the best primaries you can have. Don’t sleep on it.
Succession Sniper Rifle

Right of Succession |
The Right of Succession quest is already in the game. All you need to do to complete it is this:
- Eliminate adversaries with Sniper Rifles across all locations in the system.
- Gain bonus progress by achieving rapid final blows during Onslaught encounters.
- Alternatively, vanquish enemies in Dungeons or raids using Sniper Rifles in combat situations.
If you love this type of weapons, you’re going to love Succession in PvE. It doesn’t feature any brand-new perks like the rest of the guns from the list, but the ones that it does have are good enough. These perks allow you to deal devastating damage to enemies that are very far away from you.
You could also try it in PvP, thanks to the Discord perk that gives you unlimited special ammo for a short period of time.
Forbearance Grenade Launcher
PvE God Roll Perks | Quest |
|
Patience and Forbearance |
You’ll be able to get the Patience and Forbearance quest when it becomes available on April 23rd, 2024. To complete it, you must do the following:
- Swiftly eliminate adversaries with Grenade Launchers (Breach-Loaded kind) across all locations in the system.
- Gain bonus progress by achieving rapid final blows during Onslaught encounters.
- Alternatively, vanquish enemy Guardians using Grenade Launchers in combat situations.
Forbearance has been part of the meta from the day it appeared in the game. This isn’t going to change today, even if there’s no more Origin Trait. Demolitionist lets you recharge your grenade ability much faster, which will come in handy when clearing adds (weaker monsters that attack in big groups). Both new and old versions of this weapon are equally powerful, albeit for different reasons.
Elsie's Rifle Pulse Rifle

Stranger Danger |
The Stranger Danger quest is available to you right now. Find Arcite 99-40 and accept it to receive a set of objectives:
- Eliminate adversaries with Pulse Rifles across all locations in the system.
- Gain bonus progress by achieving rapid final blows during Onslaught encounters.
- Alternatively, vanquish enemies in the Vanguard playlist using Pulse Rifles in combat situations.
This gun was first released in the first Destiny game under a different name. It was awarded for completing the story campaign. Now, it comes with a new name and a bunch of interesting perks, combining which you can make some great god rolls. Since it’s a Pulse Rifle, it might not be the best weapon in PvE unless you’re really into Pulse Rifles. But it can be used to quickly gain overshiled for Void sub-classes.
The situation is very different in PvP. You have two choices - you can go for extra range with the Keep Away perk or extra stability when using Zen Moment. Either way, you’re going to need the Headseeker for extra critical damage.
Conclusion
The Brave arsenal features some of the most classic and iconic weapons that predate even the game itself. Most of them come with new perks that they didn’t used to have in their previous versions. Remember how to get Into the Light weapons - just play Onslaught game mode.
You can also complete the quests for each gun to get its ultimate version. Most of these quests are already available in thegame with some of them coming in future game updates. Luckily, the quest objectives are almost the same. You have to use the type of weapon your chosen Brave weapon belongs to, to get kills. If you want to complete these quests faster, then try using the weapon in Onslaught, because that’s where you can get a bonus to the progress.
All in all, it’s really great that all players can now try out the weapons they might not have been able to use in the past. Hopefully, our list provided you with enough information to help you decide which guns you should get first. Good luck, Guardians!
