Nerub’ar Palace Raid

The Nerub’ar Palace raid has been the highlight of The War Within Season 1, packed with epic boss fights, top-tier loot, and exclusive rewards that won’t stick around forever. If you haven’t cleared it on Heroic or Mythic difficulty yet, now’s your last shot before some of its rarest mounts and achievements become much harder – or even impossible – to get. Time is running out, so gather your raid team and take down Queen Ansurek before the season ends!

Limited-Time rewards from Nerub’ar Palace:

  • Ahead of the Curve (Heroic) – Earned by defeating Queen Ansurek on Heroic difficulty. While there’s no direct reward, it’s often a requirement to join high-end raid groups in the future.
  • Cutting Edge (Mythic) – A prestigious Feats of Strength achievement for downing Queen Ansurek on Mythic difficulty before Season 2.
  • Reins of the Sureki Skyrazor – This rare flying mount drops from Queen Ansurek on any difficulty, but the drop rate is significantly higher in Season 1.
  • Reins of the Ascendant Skyrazor – This even rarer mount is guaranteed to drop for three players per Mythic kill during Season 1. After the season ends, this guaranteed drop will be removed, making it incredibly rare to obtain in the future.
  • Web-Wrapped in the Finest Silks – Completing Cutting Edge: Queen Ansurek also rewards the Luminous Nerubian Catalyst Stone, which enhances the visual effects of your tier set gear.

Our biggest advice concerning The War Within Season 2 preparation is to complete "Ahead of the Curve" and "Cutting Edge" achievements. These limited-time achievements for defeating Queen Ansurek on Heroic or Mythic difficulty will disappear when Season 2 begins. Everything else is up to your preference!

Once Season 2 starts, these rewards will either disappear or become significantly harder to get. The Reins of the Ascendant Skyrazor, in particular, will no longer have a guaranteed drop rate, and Cutting Edge will be permanently unavailable. If you’re interested in mount collecting or showing off your Mythic raiding achievements, now is the best time to finish up Nerub’ar Palace before the season ends!

Mythic+ Achievements

Moving on to the next topic of preparing for The War Within Season 2, Mythic+ is another essential step here. If you’ve been pushing Mythic+ dungeons in TWW Season 1, now is the time to lock in your achievements and rewards before the reset. Once Season 2 begins, your Mythic+ rating resets, dungeons rotate, and some exclusive rewards become unavailable. If you’re aiming for the best M+ prizes, you’ll need to finish before Patch 11.1 drops.

Here’s what you should focus on before the season ends:

  • Keystone Master (2000 rating) – Rewards the Diamond Mechsuit mount, Tempered title, and an exclusive weapon tint.
  • Keystone Hero (2500 rating) – Grants the Luminous Nerubian Catalyst Stone, a visual effect upgrade for your Season 1 tier set.
  • Dungeon Portals (Keystone Hero for specific dungeons) – Completing a Mythic+10 or higher in any Season 1 dungeon unlocks a teleport to that dungeon, which stays even after the season ends.
  • Higher ilvl Gear – Running higher Mythic+ keys before the season ends ensures you get the best possible gear upgrades from the Great Vault before the item level curve resets.

If you’re close to hitting these achievements, push now while you still can! Once Season 2 starts, these rewards will no longer be available, and you’ll be starting fresh with new dungeons and mechanics.

PvP Achievements

If you’re into PvP, now is your last chance to grab exclusive titles, mounts, and elite transmog sets before The War Within Season 1 ends. Once Season 2 begins, your PvP rating resets and many of these rewards will no longer be obtainable, making them even more valuable.

Here’s a list of things to do before Season 2 WoW regarding PvP:

  • Gladiator Title and Forged Gladiator’s Fel Bat Mount – Earned by reaching 2400+ rating in 3v3 Arena and winning 50 additional matches at that rank. If you want to flex your PvP dominance, this is the title to get.
  • Vicious Skyflayer Mount – Earned through Rated PvP matches, this mount will move to the Vicious Saddle vendor in Season 2, meaning you’ll need to grind even more to unlock it later. Grab it now to save yourself extra work.
  • Elite PvP Transmog Sets – Unlocked at different PvP rating brackets, this exclusive armor set features unique lightning and flame effects that set you apart from the crowd. If you want this look for multiple classes, you’ll need to earn it separately on each one before the season ends.
  • Weapon Illusion and Tabard – The Elite Weapon Illusion unlocks at 1950 rating, while the Forged Gladiator’s Tabard is awarded at 2400 rating. These cosmetic items are only available during Season 1, so don’t miss out.

If you’re close to reaching Elite rank or finishing your wins for Gladiator, now’s the time to push for that final grind. Once Season 2 drops, these rewards disappear forever or become much harder to get – so don’t wait until it’s too late!

Delves Achievements

Pay attention to Delves as a part of your WoW Season 2 preparation process. With new Delve tiers, rewards, and mechanics coming in the next season, many of the Season 1-exclusive achievements and cosmetics will be either gone forever or much harder to get.

Here’s what you should wrap up before Patch 11.1 drops:

  1. "Let Me Solo Him" Achievement and Void-Themed Delver’s Dirigible Mount – This Feat of Strength is awarded for soloing Zekvir, the endgame Delve boss in Tier 11, with lives remaining. Completing it grants you the Void appearance for your Delver’s Dirigible mount. If you want this unique look, now’s the time to push for it!
  2. Zekvir's Transmog and Title – Taking down Zekvir on higher difficulties rewards special cosmetics and the Ascension Breaker title, showing off your solo prowess.
  3. Brann Level 60 – Brann’s max level carries over to Season 2, so leveling him up now will give you a head start when new Delve challenges arrive. His Curios will reset, but collecting them all in Season 1 ensures you have the best setup before Season 2 begins.
  4. Season 1 Resonance Crystal Rewards – Several Delve-related collectibles are still available for cheaper costs in Season 1. These will be more expensive in Season 2, so buy them now while you can.
  5. Coffer Keystones Reset – If you’ve been saving Coffer Keystones, use them up before Patch 11.1, as they won’t carry over into Season 2.

With new Delve mechanics and tougher encounters coming in Season 2, finishing these achievements now will help you secure rare rewards and stay ahead of the game. If you're close to finishing Zekvir or leveling Brann, now is the time to get it done!

Plunderstorm Event

The Plunderstorm Event is back for a limited time, bringing its pirate-themed battle royale action to The War Within. If you haven’t jumped in yet, now is your last chance to earn exclusive rewards before the event ends on February 18, 2025. This is a crucial step in how to prepare for The War Within Season 2 and have some fun along the way.

This event is separate from regular WoW gameplay, meaning you create a temporary character and battle against others to collect abilities, gear, and plunder. It’s a unique mode with tons of collectibles that won’t be available once Season 2 starts.

Make sure to Farm Plunder and unlock the following before the event disappears:

Mounts:

Battle Pets:

Cosmetic Weapons and Armor:

  • Swabbie’s Shovel, Hooktalon’s Gear – 1,000-1,500 Plunder
  • Plunderlord’s Stormridden Attire – 250-2,000 Plunder

Unlike other events, Plunderstorm doesn’t stick around, and its cosmetic rewards won’t return anytime soon (if ever). If you’re interested in collecting these pirate-themed mounts, pets, and transmog, this is your last chance to grind Plunder and unlock them all.

You can also learn more about the event by reading a separate Plunderstorm Guide in our blog.

Turbulent Timeways Event

The Turbulent Timeways Event is one of the best ways to gear up, level alts, and earn unique rewards before The War Within Season 2 begins. Playing it should be on your list among the things to do before Patch 11.1 hits the game. Running until February 25, 2025, this back-to-back Timewalking event rotates through different expansions, allowing players to revisit old dungeons while earning modern rewards that will disappear once the event ends.

Fastest Alt Leveling The event gives the Knowledge of Timeways buff, making leveling faster than ever. If you have low-level characters, now’s the time to push them to max level before Season 2.
Free Heroic Raid Gear Each week, completing the Timewalking dungeon quest rewards a Heroic Raid Cache (item level 610-626), giving you high-level gear with minimal effort.
Exclusive Timely Buzzbee Mount The Master of the Turbulent Timeways II achievement rewards the Timely Buzzbee mount, but you must participate in five separate weeks to unlock it – so make sure you don’t miss any remaining weeks.
New Vendor Rewards Timewalking vendors have added new collectibles, including the Legion Ur’zul mount, transmog sets, and toys. These items might take a long time to return, so grab them while you can.

This event is a true gem for people looking forward to leveling alts and grabbing more powerful gear. Now is the last chance to take advantage of the Turbulent Timeways Event before it disappears!

Max Out Cyrce's Circlet

Haven’t fully upgraded Cyrce’s Circlet yet? This is what we recommend you to do among The War Within Season 2 preparation tips, hero. This powerful warband-wide legendary ring is one of the best pre-Season 2 items you can obtain, and it will continue to be useful well into the next phase of The War Within. The devs have confirmed that it will remain relevant throughout a good portion of Season 2, so getting it to item level 658 before the patch drops is a smart move.

How to Fully Upgrade Cyrce’s Circlet:

  1. Complete the Siren Isle Main Storyline – If you haven’t done this yet, go to Dawn in Dornogal and start the quest chain.
  2. Farm Citrine Gems – Earn gems by completing Siren Isle events (check your world map for them).
  3. Upgrade Using Stockpiled Materials – If you’ve already been playing in Season 1, you likely have all the necessary items to reach item level 658 quickly.

Cyrce’s Circlet will not be replaced early in Season 2, making it one of the best carry-over items for new dungeons, raids, and PvP content. Fully upgrading it now means you’ll start Season 2 ahead of the curve, ready to take on new challenges with one of the best rings in the game.

Upgrade your Cyrce’s Circlet with SkyCoach fast and easily. We can help you save plenty of time and skip the grind.

Complete Siren Isle Main Storyline

Still wonder how to get ready for Season 2 The War Within? The Siren Isle questline isn’t just about lore and storytelling – it’s a key requirement for accessing new content in Patch 11.1. Completing it ensures you’re ready to dive straight into the Undermine zone when the update goes live rather than scrambling to finish old quests while everyone else moves ahead.

  1. Start at Dornogal – Talk to Dawn in Dornogal to begin the main storyline.
  2. Follow the Quest Chain – Progress through the chapters, focusing on the main story quests rather than side objectives.
  3. Earn Your Rewards – Completing the storyline will grant access to Cyrce’s Circlet and allow you to move into Undermine as soon as Patch 11.1 drops.

Waiting until Season 2 to finish the Siren Isle storyline could mean delays in experiencing new content. Completing it now ensures you’re ready to step into Undermine on day one, without any unnecessary roadblocks. Don’t miss out – get it done before Patch 11.1 arrives!

Set Up Your Professions

With The War Within Season 2 just around the corner, now is the best time to set up your professions and get ready for new crafting opportunities, powerful gear upgrades, and major gold-making potential. Professions play a big role in endgame progression, and if you prepare now, you’ll be in a strong position to take advantage of the new economy and crafting recipes introduced in Patch 11.1.

Craft High-Quality Gear for Season 2 Having maxed-out professions means you can immediately craft top-tier gear when new crafting recipes become available.
Save Gold on Gear, Potions & Enchants Rather than relying on others, setting up your own Alchemy, Enchanting, or Blacksmithing will save you tons of gold.
Make Early Gold from New Recipes When Patch 11.1 launches, new profession recipes will skyrocket in demand – if you’re ready, you can craft and sell them for huge profits.

Setting up your professions before Season 2 starts ensures you can craft the best gear, earn gold, and stay ahead of the curve when the Patch 11.1 economy kicks into full gear.

With our TWW Profession Kits, you can level any profession you want in the blink of an eye. Skip the grind and trust this job to our professionals rather than trying hard yourself. We guarantee the best price and the fastest delivery.

Use Seasonal Currencies

Now is your last chance to spend your seasonal currencies before they reset or become useless in Patch 11.1. Many of these currencies will disappear, convert into lower-value replacements, or no longer be valid for key purchases – so don’t let them go to waste.

Here is a list of the currencies that will reset:

  • Season 1 Crests – Used for gear upgrades, these will reset in Season 2, meaning you must spend them now, or they’ll be gone.
  • Valorstones – These disappear at the start of Season 2, so use them to upgrade your gear before they vanish.
  • Conquest (PvP Currency) – PvP Conquest Points reset at the end of every season, so spend them now on gear upgrades or transmogs before they’re wiped.
  • Restored Coffer Keys – These will not carry over into Season 2, so use them now to get extra rewards before they expire.
  • Delver’s Maps and Resonance Crystals – While not confirmed, the devs might make changes to how they work in Season 2, so it’s safest to use them while you can.

Level Up New Alts

Moving on with our TWW Patch 11.1 preparation guide, it is high time to level up new alts. This is a great opportunity to explore a different class, get ready for a new role, or build up a stronger roster for gold-making, professions, and PvP. The best XP boosts are still active, making it easier and faster to power through leveling before the new season begins.

Why level alts in WoW now:

  • Turbulent Timeways Buff – This event massively boosts experience gains, making it the fastest leveling method available. Once Season 2 begins, this bonus will disappear, making leveling slower.
  • Plunderstorm Event Rewards – The limited-time battle royale event offers account-wide cosmetics and mounts, which are easier to farm with multiple characters.
  • Warband Features – With The War Within, alts are now easier than ever to maintain thanks to account-wide reputation, currencies, and unlocks.

At SkyCoach, you can Level Up Your Character in a jiffy. Our PROs are always ready to help you skip the grind and hit level 80. No matter if you are playing your main or alt character, you we are there for you.

Tidy Up Your Bags

This is the perfect time to declutter your bags and get everything in order. Over the course of the season, you've likely accumulated all sorts of items – old gear, random consumables, event currencies, and things you swore you'd use but never did. Cleaning up now will save you the headache of scrambling for space once Patch 11.1 arrives with new loot, materials, and currencies to collect.

Start by sorting through your inventory and selling or disenchanting outdated gear. If you have seasonal consumables or crafting materials you won’t need anymore, now is the time to use or offload them. Consider sending useful items to alts, depositing trade goods into your reagent bank, and getting rid of any clutter that’s been gathering dust. It’s also a great opportunity to review your quest log – abandoning old or irrelevant quests will make it easier to track new content when the update goes live.

Conclusion

This wraps up our guide on the things to do before The War Within Season 2, heroes. Lock in those limited-time rewards, power up your gear, and clear out anything that might slow you down when the new content drops. Taking care of all the tasks described in this article now will set you up for a strong start in Season 2. Good luck, and we will see in Azeroth!
